Language Pack Installation failed
I'm running Win 7 Ultimate x 64. I tried to install as administrator, the simplified Chinese language pack. Installation, after several hours of installation time, failed. The update is now listed in my history of editing, but not in the installed updates. He has never offered again. I can go to the region and language in Control Panel and see that simplified Chinese is offered, although I have never selected, disconnected and then connected back to see if it works. Is it possible to remove the update failed? I really don't want to use the system restore and having to reinstall other programs.
Thank you in advance for any help provided.
It is the responsibility and the duty of everyone to help the most disadvantaged and the unfortunate among us.
Hi C.B,.
If the update for language pack installation failed then you won't find it under installed updates.
If the failure of Chinese language pack update is available in the update history, there is nothing wrong, history of the update gives you only the information about installing updates on the computer.
You can not only remove the update failed update history; If you want to remove the update failed, then you will need completely erase the history of the update.
In the regional and language settings where do you find the Chinese in option?
If you do not want Chinese language on the computer, then you can uninstall, check if it is available in the installed language.
(a) open region and language by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, and then by clicking on the region and language.
(b) click the keyboards and languages tab.
(c) under display language, click install/uninstall languages, and then follow the steps. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Install or change a display language

If the Chinese language is not available in the installed language, then you must remove the keyboard for input.
(a) open region and language by clicking on the Start button, click Control Panel, clicking clock, language, and region, and then by clicking on the region and language.
(b) click the keyboards and languages tab and then click Change keyboards.
(c) under installed services, select Chinese and click on delete.

Where to find the Windows 7 language packs
I am trying to add an additional language in my win 7. I know how to change, BUT I can not findWindows 7language packs on my windows... And its really annoying me as I much 'how to' red (this is why I know how to do yet) and they all say the same thing. "Click the startup type to microsoft/windows update, click on it in the box, choose find updated and optionally, mark 7language Windows packs."
There is no language pack to choose!
By KB972813, language packs are available only if you are running Win7 Ultimate or Enterprise edition.
You could buy Anytime Upgrade to Win7 Ultimate; otherwise, your options of Win7 Home Premium will be found on this help page on Win7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Add-or-change-an-input-language

Optional language packs disappeared in Windows update, how to recover?
Just got my new computer with Windows 7 Ultimate edition. I went in Windows update, which at the time contained both Important and updated optional update. I downloaded and installed all the updates first, without any problem.
Then, I looked through the optional updates and saw he had a couple of updates related to my hardware (screen, sound card, video card), as well as 30 language packs or more. I decided to download and install the related materials updated first. During the installation of one of them, I got the blue screen of death.
I waited until restarted Windows and reopen Windows Update. I notice all the optional updates have gone - all language packs have disappeared! Not even in the location of "hidden" updates Is it possible to recover?
Hello
Step 1: Determine if the update has been installed
To view the history of installation, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, point to all programs and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
b. on the Web site, click on view update history.
c. find the latest entry for the specific update.
d. Note the color of the icon in the status column. If the icon is green, the update has been installed. If the icon is red, the update is not installed.
Step 2: Run the Windows update utility for troubleshooting.

Just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit version. I have already installed all the updates without problem, but when I try to install one of the recommended update language packs my computer hangs during the update "facility" progress bar gets about 90% full. I never get an error screen, the computer just hangs, even the mouse becomes unresponsive. I waited for hours in the hope, it was just temporary, but I ended up having to reset the computer. He told me he could not update and restores the changes when it starts. This happens whenever I try to install a language pack.
Hello
I suggest that you follow the steps below and check if the problem persists.
Step 1:
a. click on Start
b. open the Control Panel from the menu display by (up/right) select one of the views of the icon .

Problems with installing updates
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updatesStep 2:
If that does not solve the problem, start your computer in a clean boot State and install the update to KB972813 . There could be a software program of third party in conflict with the update. Clean boot helps eliminate conflicts of third party software.
Note: Follow step 7 to restart your computer after you install the update in a clean boot state as usual.
