  installed new xp (sp2) on the acer 5100. not found drivers on the acer site. all works except a broadcom wireless adapter. no shows in the wireless network connections.   Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. my computer is an acer aspire 5100. I went to the acer driver download page for my specific model and the os. as well as drivers for xp 32 bit, I have used, there are 32-bit drivers for vista and mce. so I downloaded the drivers for each wireless. tried the flavor of the mce. It worked. Wireless works fine.

  I am tempted to cancel the installation of the driver and to return to the previous state to see delicate suggestion might work, but I don't want.
  bonus of... looking around Intel 5100 acer, I found a lot of people have complained on their machines to overheat. mine has that too. a suggestion is to remove the back cover and check for dust accumulation. I found coverage quarter inch of dust completely blocks the air outlet. Easy fix. no more overheating.

  Ver very fast, very well, but when I put a hard drive formatted in the 2nd support., I see the hard drive in the bios, acer starts normally but win I donnot see the hard drive. Of course I see th ssd.

  I tried desperately, but unsuccessfully, to locate the wifi driver (Device Manager -?-network controller) for an Acer 4720Z.  I tried all three drivers wifi from the Support of the Acer drivers Web site.  I tried using Driver Detective and have internet comber via Google.

  Recently, I've restored my Acer Aspire 771 G back to factory settings, as I had a lot of problems after that I upgraded to windows 8.1. Now my computer works fine, except for a problem... I frequently get the BSOD: critics of the process is dead. It occurs usually when I try to run a certain game on Steam (it only happens for a game), but also happened on other occasions.

  I tried almost everything to solve the problem: reinstall the operating system, update drivers, virus/malware research and clean the registry. None of them have solved the problem. I then ran the Burn-in-test; my computer has adopted all aspects, except the CPU temperature test. It is likely that the BSOD if caused by overheating of the processor? And how can I stop this BSOD occurring?

  My computer is as follows: Acer Aspire V3 771 G: intel core i7, NVIDIA Geforce GT 640 M, 16 GB RAM, windows 8 and I have 2 hardrives: a 120G SSD as well as a 1 TB of HARD drive. On another note, I only had this computer for about 8 months.

  So my wifi connects not any faster than quue 4 or 5 Mbps to our internet uverse.  My laptop wives and our two phones get full speed.  I did a ton of research but have not found a fix for this problem.  There the Qualcomm Atheros AR956x card in it.

  There is a free space above so I was able to move my antenna wi - fi so far and release the slot for pci express to the new card usb3 so I was even able to keep my embedded wireless and bluetooth. What a result!
