Wireless Bridge-Link a Wifi router to another router Wifi - network expansion

Hello

A question many people ask themselves, to ask the wifi community.

Site B have a Wireless Linksys router WRT a regular (not DDwrt software), site b have internet.

Site want to use is to talk to the Site-B to offer wireless Internet to East computer cable

First of all, I wondered how it's called. There is wireless connection?

Second, we succeed with cisco router, how can we?

With what kind of model, we can do that?

Thanks guys,.

Or you can use the real wireless bridge as WET200 (inferior part) or Aironet 1400, 1300 series.

  • How can I get my wireless printer to my wifi network?

As the HP Installation Wizard does not work with the Mavericks, is there another way to get my printer wireless connected to my wifi network? This printer (HP Officejet Pro 8000 A809) works well with the Mavericks on my old wifi network. But my DSL provider has recently installed a new router, so I have a new wifi network which works fine with everything else.

I was able to get my two Airport Express to join my new network, using Airport utility, but I'm stumped as to how to get my printer to join the new network without the help of the HP installation wizard.

Following the advice of Shlomi, I managed to reset my printer so that it now appears in my list of networks wifi under devices, such as hpsetup. But I got. Any help would be more approeciated.

Bruce777 solved this problem for me, thanks Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!

Bruce instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:

    -delete all printers already implemented

-Rub old hp software and updated software for the hp 2.8 drivers

-Unplug the usb cable from the printer if you have connected

-restore the network printer hpsetup (hold down the power button / stop and press the button x 2 network and then cancel 3 x, release power button).

-Print the wireless network test report (hold down the button to network and update support 2 x). Check the ssid network name is hsetup

-arrived in sys prefs > network and change the mac to hpsetup wireless network

-go to the sys pref > print scanning

    -Add the HP 8000 printer

-Click the supplies button and options and click on the printer to show Web page

-Click on the Networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start networking wizard and change the network of hpsetup to your network

-finishing (this page may freeze.  Close the browser)

-Return to the sys prefs and change the network wireless to your networt

-go to the printer and print the wireless network test report (updated 2 x key and press the network button).  Make sure that the SSID is your network

-go to system prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > see the printer Web page > network info (check ssid and compare it to the wireless network test report)

-try to print something on your printer.  It might take a bit of time first impression.

  • Why my Macbook Air poster as a bridge to my Wifi network?

We fight network gremlins in our small office.  We have an unnecessarily complicated network topology, but I don't think that the 'complexity' network is the fundamental issue (guess total).  Here's the situation.

Periodically, we have network problems that range from individual devices or IP phones, problems at the Internet, across the Office of failures.  The Internet seems to be stable during the network problems and is also big enough to handle the traffic.  There seems to be no problem with the Internet itself - FYI...  We have a mix of Mac and PC, printers, file server and IP phones using the network.  The network is a mix of wifi devices connected and wired devices (PC/Mac wifi wired connected...printers/phones in General).

The network itself is as follows:

AirOS WAP which does not respect NOT IPs, just toward the life of a HP switch, which in turn is connected to a D-Link router that handles DHCP.  D - Link is then connected to our Internet modem.  The AirOS WAP is used because it is the signal strength and performance are supposed to be better than the performance of the D-Link wifi.  Note: The wifi radio is turned OFF on the D-Link.  All attached devices appear in the ARP table on the device from D-Link (as expected).

But and I finally get to my question on the AirOS my MacBook Air (El Capitan) is displayed in the ARP table under a bridge.  It is the only device that appears in the ARP table besides than the D-Link (showing also as a bridge - what is planned).  In other words, my Mac "is differently from any other device in the office, we want to eliminate as a potential problem."

Any who have thoughts on why my Mac is illustrated as a bridge.  I checked my network settings and nothing seems out of the ordinary on my laptop.  (only the bridge I find together are thunderbolt - that is NOT connected)

I'm sure that someone has an idea or two on why my device showing as a gateway into our network, and if this could be a problem.

    Thank you.

After the Ubiquiti AirOS AP firmware up-to-date have been upgraded - if it is not already there - you have Ubiquiti why their software of AirOS reports what is shown.   AirOS has many configuration options and can be configured to distribute the signals with multiple devices Wi - Fi - what you see here, what version of AirOS is involved, how the device is configured, it is something that people of Ubiquiti are likely better to troubleshoot.

The only way that I expect to see a Mac acting as a bridge is via system preferences > sharing > Internet sharing or maybe lower configurations of command line for access to these parameters.   If Internet sharing is disabled, I would not expect OS X works as a bridge.

I would be the network inventory and nettoieriez configuration.   (Set in bridge) modem, firewall, to move, to cables and AP (s) systems.   I would use connections wired to the APs when possible and WDS where not.

If you have the OS X Server autour (this forum), then those who need static IP addresses and will probably also want to wired connections for performance reasons.

If one of the servers in use is accessible from the outside, we can a required more complex network configuration if you want to isolate the damage caused by a failure of the server.

Wi - Fi can have serious interference problems in some areas.  Interference can wreak havoc with the connections Wi - Fi and AP, that can walls and anything that can block signals.

If it's really a D-Link router (like the series DSR, etc.) and not a D-Link gateway area, these routers are not very effective firewall.   He worked with one of these.   Really hard to guarantee.    Not what they are built, either.

  • E3000 as a waterfall on a wireless bridge router

Can you offer any suggestions on how to implement the next network. I would like to make it's good and I'm ready to buy the right equipment.

Here is a diagram of the structure:

After my research, I realized that normally router B to there should in fact be only a switch, which the IP assigned by DHCP router A to all customers in both networks A and B. However, one of my goals is to ensure that the network B will remain operational, even if the wireless bridge loses its connection to A router and Wan. It seems to me that the best way to proceed is to use a router instead of a switch to Y. It is not necessary that B Network Clients see Clients in the network has only access to the WAN is required.  In addition, network B Clients must communicate to 1 GB (there is a NAS box) and I do not want their throutput to be constrained by the speed of wireless bridge.

Can I use an E3000 router B to Y, and if so how should be configured. I understand that I must give another IP address that the router has to X. The challenge for me is to know how to configure the network B so that it is independent from the router except for internet access. I have to configure each network on a different subnet?

In addition, the wireless bridge link must be distinct from wireless networks and B. Is it possible by simply assigning their own SSID wireless bridges and routers wireless in A and B different SSID?

    Thank you

  • The router access point wireless bridge

Hi I recently moved into a new building which has a few hot spots for the Internet connection is included in the rental price. I don't have a model of linksys Cisco wireless-G broadband router. WRT54G2 V1 and I am trying to create a wireless bridge between the point of interest (I have my own Unique Internet identifier) the router, which is then connected to my office using an Ethernet cable.

Can I create a wireless bridge, if yes, how can I do this?

    Thanks in advance

The router (WRT54G2 V1) does not have a capacity of wireless receiver so you will need a separate ethernet bridge.

Your installation should be like this:
    (((WiFi)))---> (((pont Ethernet<-wired connection-="">routeur Linksys<-wired connection-="">ordinateur de bureau))

I hope that makes sense. XD

  • Network Magic cannot discover a "BEFSR41" router behind a "WET610N" wireless bridge

Just upgraded to a WRT610N 2 version in my office.  He pulls an IP address from my cable router and distributes IP addresses (this is setup for DHCP) without problem.  I need to extend the home network to another part of the House so I took 2 x WET610N wireless bridges.  Since many devices will have to use the bridge I'll recycle my BEFSR41 as a switch.  I have the router configuration and bridge; the bridge connects to the port "uplink" on the router, and the DHCP has been disabled on the router.  But when I run Network Magic BEFSR41 router cannot find the other side of the bridge.  Any ideas?

You need this post in the section Network Magic from this forum.  If the router acts as a switch, it will be transparent and not e seen.

  • Printer Hp6700: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when SSID Broadcast is set to no.

HP6700 printer: unable to connect to the router wireless D - Link DI-514 when the router Broadcast SSID is set to no. My MAC laptop and HP laptop both work with the set SSID on no. If I change the router Wireless SSID Broadcast is YES, then the printer HP6700 can connect to the wireless router. I set up the printer it saying that the SSID and password have been, the same as both of my laptops, but it connects ever, unless I have change the router to broadcast the SSID. Help!

Have you tried to update the firmware on the DI-514?

You can also try to set a static IP address on the printer, and then assign the printer to the list of DHCP static in the interface of the router.
To give a static IP address to your printer:
-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.
Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that you remove and re - add the printer to your Mac.

It turns out that plugging in the Comcast cable on the floor was very old, had a longer cable length, and was also on a split bar.  Called Comcast to help solve our problem, and they were able to test the intensity of the signal on the line.  Signal was not reliable on the cable on the floor, so we moved the modem more near the source of moving the cable (don't run, no separator, the best signal of shorter cable).  Upstream of the modem connection was immediately more reliable, moving router downstairs gives the best WiFi coverage for the rest of the House.  I have decided at this time that the extra router was not necessary and referred.  So, Detective Conan... problem was double: bad signal on the incoming line from Comcast and bad location for WiFi router upstairs.

  • Samsung wireless surround does not work with Airport wifi network

I have a smart tv with a Soundbar and wireless - all Samsung two speakers. I should be able to set up surround sound via the network wireless like this http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/popup/iframe/pop_troubleshooting_fr.jsp?idx= 629802 & modelname = WAM7500 & modelcode = WAM7500/ZA

It works fine when it connects to the router provided by my ISP sky. But when I try to do the same when connecting to the network created by the airport, it won't work no-more precisely, I'm unable to select "link Multiroom' (step 19 in the link above).

Note: There is no problem connecting to the wifi network - it's this last step which is the issue.

Any ideas as to why this may be the case?  I need to use the extended network of the Hub of sky wifi is very low when the TV is.

    Here is the configuration...

    Router-> Airport Extreme-> Airport Express-> TV + Surround Sound

(Airport extreme is the bridge mode value and the expansion of the wifi network Express).

    Thank you

    Jeremy

    TV: Samsung UE40H6400

    Soundbar: Samsung HW-K650

Rear speakers on your TV: Samsung R1 2

I'm not familiar with Samsung wireless speakers, but let me see if I can help. What is the brand and model of your router provided by Sky? You have configured to provide a Wi - Fi network? Is the Wi - Fi network, provided by the extreme and extended by the Express, a second wireless network with a different SSID or using the same SSID as provided by the router from the sky?

  • The way of writing to a wireless bridge between two different routers.1:broadband and dir 2:dlink 605 l

I want to bridge.and wireless I can't do that... Please send me how to write to a wireless bridge between two different routers.

    1:broadband
    and
    2:Dlink dir 605 l,

    Hi Mohammed Ehsan Jourah,.

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft community forums.
I understand that you need to know how to make a wireless bridge between two different routers

What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

To connect multiple computers, install a network adapter in each and run a network CAT5 cabling to connect each one to a hub (and thus the other.) The computer that will serve as a transition will have a standard network card for wired and a wireless network adapter that will connect to the wireless (WAP) access point or gateway on the second network.

A network bridge is software or hardware that connects two networks or more so that they can communicate. You can create only a single bridge network on a computer, but a bridge can handle any number of network connections.

You can try the steps at the bridge between two different routers wireless.
    a. determine the coverage area. When using two or more routers, the coverage area should be divided, and each router should be placed in a central location in each subdivision. If you add a wireless router to an existing network, this may mean moving the first router.
    b. decide which router is the main router. The main router is connected to the Internet, a LAN cable or other networks. It should be as close to the wired network connections or who has the best line of sight to another wireless network. In addition, the main router should be a high range router, allowing large tables of State and more users.
    c. buy a spare antenna, as the antennas that come with most routers do not have very good range. Quality omnidirectional antennas can push the range and signal strength of each of the routers, which, in turn, will reduce the cost by allowing routers less cover more space overall.
    d. deploy the primary router carefully. This router is the most important and requires most of the time of installation and options. Set the WEP (Protocol) encryption Service Set Identifier (SSID) and wireless, set up the Internet connection and test the router with some clients (computers). Once you get the main router deployed, deploy other routers should be easy.
    e. deploy the secondary routers, which must be configured to operate in "mode of transition." Secondary routers should be deployed around the perimeter of a large area or 'hot spots' where users placed - for example, will convene a bench Park or the table.

  • Re: Wireless not connect / search for router - Satellite P305

Hey all, I hope that I can help.

As I come back from uni, my laptop has decided that its wireless won't work. When I scan, it cannot find the router in my house and the icon in the taskbar has a cross inside. When I plug my laptop into the router via ethernet, it connects very well then and the wireless takes over even the router, but as soon as I unplug the wireless dies again.

My laptop is a Toshiba P305 and has an Atheros AR9281 wireless card.
My OS is Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit SP1.

I know that's not the router, since everything else connects fine - my PS3, this old PC XP (so I do this thread), etc.

Sometimes when I start the laptop it finds my router (and a neighbor), but when I try to connect to it it says "Windows cannot connect to this network" and it simply disappears. Also sometimes I can connect to the router after that the Ethernet cable is disconnected, but it is limited to the connectivity (i.e. I can't get on the internet) and soon the tomb with the message "Windows has not received a response from the access point or router" and can not find yet

    What I've tried so far.

    -Restart.
-Leave the portable island for awhile.
-Switch wireless switch and turn it back on.
-Check I have the latest drivers for the card.
    -Reinstall these drivers.
-Check if the WLAN or other network services are disabled.
    -Restart some services.
-Disabling and then re-enabling the adapter.
-Physically sitting right next to the router and it still can't find it.
    -System restore
-Disable the WEP encryption on my router and use another method of security, even turn off security completely.
    -Reboot the router.

I have not had any problems with the wireless front, he has just started happening yesterday.

Thanks for any help/advice, I'm out of ideas.

    Hello

I see you didn't update the BIOS
Well buddy, I think you should do this!
Update the BIOS, and then try again

If you notice more WLan connectivity issues then I would recommend changing the WiFi channel! This has been useful for me in the past!

I know that you tried to update the driver WLan but check this Toshiba page for the latest version of the WLan driver!

    Hello

are the two of you using Configfree? And the most interesting thing would be: what system are you using?

Otherwise I can give you a link to another thread where you can probably find a few info´s on the configuration of wireless network:

  • WAG200G as bridge for mobile WiFi for connected?

My broadband connection is available in via a mobile phone (Huawei Ascend P2) which is used to a hotspot Wi - Fi. My PC etc. to connect to this end. But I also want to connect to a VoIP box (Gigaset N300IP) and has an Ethernet connector. I think it should be possible to use my older WAG200G router as a bridge to bring the hot spot WiFi phone signal into the router and then connect the VoIP (and perhaps the PC too) on the router. However, I can't get the WAG200G to detect the WiFi signal. I have put in mode only bridge and fact its SSID and the channel, the same as the phone (otherwise how he'd find?) but it doesn't connect. What Miss me?

    Hello

The WAG200G is a Wireless G modem router ADSL residential and not a wireless bridge / Repeater / Extender. In my view, the settings you defined on the Bridge Mode is Encapsulation. Description for this setting is: only the DSL modem is available, and all router/gateway features are disabled. If selected, you just enter the VC settings.

On your scheduled installation, you can see these models: WUMC710 & WET610N.

  • Unable to join a homegroup Windows 7 with a network that spans a wireless bridge

I have two Windows 7 machines that are at the ends of the face of a wired LAN network which connects via a wireless bridge and I am unable to get Windows 7 machines on each side of the brdige to connect to a homegroup created across the bridge.  Perhaps to better illustrate what I mean, here's my network configuration:

    Wireless router:
Machine from Windows 7 1 (LAN wired to the router)
Windows XP machine (for LAN cable to the router)

Wireless Bridge (connect wirelessly to the wireless router):
Computer Windows 7 2 (LAN wired to the bridge)
PS3 (wired LAN to the bridge)
TV (cable LAN to the bridge)

I use the bridge wireless set up so that I can connect LAN devices wired to the wireless bridge so that they appear to be on the same local network as all other devices on the wireless router (stops to have at home and the bridge wire wireless allows me to expand the scope of all wireless devices I might have).  While all the machines can meet without a problem and I can't even set Windows Media Player to stream video to the PS3 and the TV through its capabilities of DLNA, Windows 7 network mapping server shows not the systems connected to the other end of the gateway wireless as being on the same network (although it shows them); so Windows 7 Homegroup does not see other machines as being on the same network.

The only thing I can think to do with limitations in TCP/IP regarding a wireless bridge, from the perspective of wireless router all connected to the wireless gateway devices appear to be a device (they all appear under the same physical MAC address as the device only "wireless" that connects to the network is the wireless bridge - who just happens to have three other devices connected to it) even if they are assigned to different (numbers) IP that are in the same subnet, etc.).  So I guess what I'm wondering Windows 7 has a limiation to recognise the devices connected via a wireless bridge?  Has anyone else encountered this problem and found a work around?

    Thank you.

I had this same problem (unable to connect to a Windows 7 homegroup) on Windows 7 (64-bit) PC behind a wireless bridge using a D-Link DAP-1522 to a D - Link DIR-655 residing on the main network.

The solution that worked for me was to allow for the "'wireless MAC CLONING ' with 'Source MAC = Auto" on the DAP-1522. "  It also had the beneficial effect of the side to fix a problem on PC behind the bridge where control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network card cannot display all the network devices.

I have 2 imacs and a laptop computer and you want to back up all three wireless via time capsule on my existing wifi network. If we can also use the time capsule as my wifi and replace my uverse wifi, that would be great. possible?

If you want to make sure that you will be able to get the Apple support in case of problems or questions with your backups, you must use the wireless Time Capsule to back up your Mac.

As long as the time Capsule provides a wireless signal, you can decide who to your 'main' network, then use it wireless Uverse for "guest", or children. If you do not need the Uverse router/modem wireless at all, it is possible to turn off wireless on the device and make it work only as a support modem/router...with Uverse wired.

At this point, you can start thinking about how you want to configure things and get back in touch if you need some advice on how to do it.  We need to know what operating system that uses the Mac that you normally use to administer the time Capsule, provide good instructions, if you need it.
