Wireless cannot detect available networks

I just bought a cb HPE 257 (Costco).  It came with an internal wireless LAN card 802.11n.  It is said that it works correctly, access to Device Manager.  I even uninstalled, restarted and auto drivers resettled.

It does not detect networks wireless in my neighborhood.

I thought it might be a problem with my router/modem SBG900 being obsolete combo, so I went to best buy and bought a new router (linksys) and modem (zoom). I have comcast internet.

Installed new router and modem using my laptop. Those who work very well.  I went back to my new office, rebooted hoping it would then recognize the new network, I put in place. Still nothing.  I even moved the tower to the top of my office to help with the possibility to connect.

I talked with a tech support in India and chatted online with a technician today.  They said that the internal 802.11n/g/b card must have worked with my SBG900 and I didn't need the newer models (which would be good for me).

Everyone knows this?

Thank you.  In fact I returned the computer and exchanged for another.

I had the computer scientist of the work come more, when I got home, and he even brought his laptop that has Windows 7 because we thought it might be a question of conflicting information.  His laptop connected immediately.

The card has been registered, even uninstalled, reinstalled, it unhoused, reinstalled it.  Nada.

All good now.  New computer has been unpacked and installed in less than half an hour.  Wireless connected until I reached even the office.  Next time I won't be wasting so much time research and testing.

Appreciate the help.

    Hi all

I have a weird and annoying problem. My X 200 can detect wireless networks but refuses to connecto to them.

It's a brand new computer that I just received.

    Some info:

    ThinkPad X 200 7454-2HU, running Vista x 64.

Downloaded latest drivers installed, all using the autopilot to Lenovo download application.

The driver has detected in the Device Manager is: Intel Wifi Link 5100 AGN.

There is no problem with the wireless network (the other computers connect to it without any problems).

I tried to cancel the option "n", leaving a "b/g", but it did not help.

It is problematic that only one device in Device Manager, and it's "Controller of Bus SM" (cannot understand what it is and update windows or Lenovo update does not solve this problem).

When I use "Intel ProSet/Wireless Tools" diagnose, I get:

Test equipment: managed (wireless hardware is enabled)

Pilotass. Driver is loaded. NET w5v64 Versio: 12.0.0.82

Radio test: past. The radio is on.

Scan Testass. There are 12 networks available to connect.

    Association test: failed. No partner.

When I look at the statistics, it seems that the card receives bytes (nothing is sent).

What do you think? Is it a hardware problem or software?

No idea what can be done if it is a software problem?

  • iPhone 5 c cannot detect the network.

Since the last 9.2.1 update my iPhone 5 c cannot detect the network.  Constantly 'finding '.  It took to the local repair shop and he told me the imei is missing and only Apple can help.  Any ideas, thank you.

A missing IMEI is a fatal error which cannot be set. This is usually the result of the attempt to jailbreak or hack the phone unlock illegally, but not exclusively.

Where, exactly, do you have the phone? It was jailbroken? Never 'unlocked' by one person other than the carrier, so it was initially locked?

  • Wireless Assistant detects all networks

Printer HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One - C309a.  Current running Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit PCs.

I had my HP C309a for nearly two years.  I also have a C410a.  My PC have been able to connect wirelessly to two printers.  For several months, I was not able to connect to the C309a.

What I tried, a sequential posting:

    1. I tried to restart the printer, the router and the PC and still couldn't connect.
    2. I tried the wizzard wireless to the printer, to re-establish a new connection to my router.  The wizzard never comes back--he's just looking for forever.  It's strange because there are probably 5 detectable networks near my house.  My SSID is hidden, but the others should be displayed after which I should have an option to set up a network connection.
    3. When there is no worrk, I selected. in the menu of the printer to reset the initial settings.
    4. I tried to try to use the wizzard wireless to detect a network, but even once, he seeks to everything ever.
    5. I noticed that an error kept popping up on a USB device is incompatible.  But I have no USB device to the printer.
    6. So, at this point I decided to do away with the radio and connected the printer to a computer via a USB cable (it is after the error USB you mind).  I am able to print now, but I can't scan and still have the USB error.

Ideally I would like to get rid of the error USB and access the wireless printer again.  Otherwise, I would like to eliminate the USB error and be able to make full use of the printer (Scanner as printer).

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve these problems?

Looks like the features work through the USB connection and not the wireless connection since it still does not see the networks.

Everything indicates a hardware failure since the steps in the private message has failed and the wireless test showed that he had not.  I'm sorry.

You have a few options at this point.

If it is under warranty, standard or extended, you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 for repair under warranty.

If it is out of warranty, you can always contact HP support to find out all the options and the cost of each option.  However, it is my opinion that this money would be better spent applied to a new printer.

    Hey @cbs117,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you experience some problems with your Laserjet P1102w printer connection to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

Now if the blue light is not solid, the next step is to run the HP installation by clicking on the icon on your PC with a name similar to the Laserjet P1100 series. If you do not have this icon, download the latest drivers at this link.

Please let me know if you are able to connect the printer after you follow the above. If you are, click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.

  • HPE-475 wireless card detects only networks

For these last months, occasionally, my computer would start but be unable to detect wireless networks. It seems that l ' simply down to an hour or two by magic would solve it. Research at the time indicated that he was unable to find a driver for some reason any.

However, today, several hours of the computer being off has not solved the problem, and the Device Manager indicates that the card works fine, without worries of pilot. Maybe, I'm looking at the wrong thing.

I was able to connect using an old wireless dongle, but I don't want that it is the permanent solution.

What can I do to better diagnose and solve the problem? I searched a bit, but couldn't find anything that seemed specific to this situation.

    Product name: HPE-475

    Product number: BU082AA #ABG

Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1

    Error messages: No.

    Recent changes: No.

Performed troubleshooting: attempted to "Diagnose" through network connections. He suggested to check the router. The router is fine, several other devices are able to connect. Diagnosis then says it cannot solve the problem of connectivity.

    Thanks in advance!

    -Phil.

    Hello

If the WIFI worked very well using the current router then mixed mode setting is not the problem.

If Device Manager shows no errors and you cannot connect wirelessly then the WIFI card is most likely the problem.

Good to hear you have an extended warranty.

    ContactHP support.

  • iPhone 4 iOS 9.3.2 | Wi - Fi is not grayed out, but available networks cannot be detected!

    Features: iPhone 4S 64GB | 9.3.2 iOS (13F69) | Greece

Hello team Apple, I'm Athanasios * Thessaloniki! I want to tell you about my problem which is this a while now, and I can't find a useful answer.

    We will explain my problem:

Suddenly, one day, after I have updated to iOS to 9.2.1 version, wi - fi was not able to detect ANY network, which has been previously connected successfully. I already searched Google my problem in the forums of geek famous Apple, Apple support page (Yes, here), YouTube, but a solution absolutely nothing for her. As the Wi - Fi connection button was not gray, I assumed that it wouldn't show the antenna, such as moving after falling or something similar. I have never had any problem of high or low, such as the iPhone, not too hot or too cold. I tried to reset the network, put on the market settings and disable certain services that have been proposed to do in the forums, in many combinations different by trial and error-n method and even restored the iPhone throughout the system by default, and still nothing is resolved. I double checked the routers themselves, their settings and everything. All other devices are connected, with the exception of my iPhone (because cannot detect it). IPhone of my father (it's the same as mine) is also connected. BUT, as I said before, my iPhone cannot DETECT wifi networks.

According to some scholars, put my iPhone in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and getting Wi - Fi working again, IS NOT a SOLUTION for me, because I don't know what could happen to the chips inside. In general, I do many reflow repairs to chips in laptops (made with success, of course), but this... I refuse to do it for a reason any.

This is why I installed Apple Configurator 2, follow the steps below and save the file log and no information, it could be exported from the application. I don't know what else to do. Please if you could tell me what the log file (if the reason lies deep inside the info), as long as you or me to find a solution. I can't determine if it comes to iOS, or material. Even now, on the last version of iOS, the problem is not resolved.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE. PLEASE SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO. AN IDEA DIRECTLY FROM YOU WOULD BE USEFUL.

    ========================

Steps, what is in the .log file is:

    1. turn off: Wi - Fi

    Bluetooth

    Use of data

    Activation: Flight Mode

(in general, everything is turned off)

    2. TURN OFF THE PHONE

    3. TURN ON THE PHONE

4 turn on: Wi - Fi, and Bluetooth, flight mode (off... dial-up cellular is enabled), use of data

    ========================

PS: Here is the link of my log file (I have downloaded on my Dropbox account)

< personal information under the direction of the host >

Hi, this is a user to user forum only. I read your post and offer two comments. Please do not put your phone in the refrigerator, which is not an accepted solution. Secondly, iPhones are not intended to be served by our users. I know you've tried several of the steps below but please take a look at them again. If after #8 (restoration of new, not backup) the phone still does not work, your best choice would be to take on Apple Store or authorized dealer for evaluation.

Suggest from the top and bottom. Maybe one of them will help you.

    (1) perform a forced reboot: hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for about 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Leave the device to reboot.

    (2) resetting the network settings: settings > general > reset > reset network settings. Join the network again.

    (3) reboot router/Modem: unplug power for 2 minutes and reconnect. Update the Firmware on the router (support Web site of the manufacturer for a new FW check). Also try different bands (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) and different bandwidths (recommended for 2.4 to 20 MHz bandwidth).

    (4) change of Google DNS: settings > Wi - Fi > click the network, delete all the numbers under DNS and enter 8.8.8.8 or otherwise 8.8.4.4

    (5) disable the prioritization of device on the router if this feature is available. Also turn off all apps to VPN and retest the Wi - Fi.

    (6) determine if other wireless network devices work well (other iOS devices, Mac, PC).

    (7) try the device on another network, i.e., neighbors, the public coffee house, etc.

    (8) backup and restore the device using iTunes (ask for more details if you wish).

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201252

    (9) go to the Apple Store for the evaluation of the material.

    Hi j1986,

    Welcome to the Forums.

    You can try the following:

    1. press Fn + F5 to activate the wireless card (make sure that the current status is set on "ON")

    2. relying on Fn + F5 is unable to turn the wireless status on, make sure that the physical wireless switch is on position ON.

    3. If the same problem, boot into the BIOS by pressing F2 at startup and make sure that the WLAN device is enabled.

    4. If you still cannot detect wifi networks, open Device Manager (press Windows key + R) and then:

    -Go to the ECS network

-Right click on the wireless adapter and select uninstall

-Right click on network adapters, then select Scan for hardware changes and check for availabel wifi networks

  • Cannot detect WLAN & error on device on Satellite L300D-11N Manager

Hi, I hope you can help!

I recently bought 2 notebooks of Toshiba L300D-11N for my DD for Christmas.
I have the same problem with two laptops, where they cannot detect a network.

In Device Manager, I get an error on an "unknown device" I think that's probably the network card, I can't find listed anywhere in the Device Manager. I don't have an option to repair the unit, only to uninstall or update the driver. I tried to update, but it says I can't.

The wireless light is amber in color, which tells me means that the wireless in not active, but I can not allow it because the computer does not know its there if it makes sense!

Anyone have any suggestions to help please?

    Thanks :)

Do you mean the WLAN or LAN and what OS you have? XP or Vista?

First you start the laptop, there is an image/installation of Toshiba with all drivers and tools, so not should do no more install to work with the model.

You can download all the drivers on the Toshiba site: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com
Or you reinstall the notebooks with the recovery image. I think that s the easiest way, but you can try the new drivers first.

    Hello

If everything checked OK wise network, and you have mentioned before: ' sfc/scannow' in the command as administrator prompt and it said "windows resource protection found corrupt files but was unable to trouble".

It is perhaps that some kernel files are corrupted and cannot be updated.

    Refresh the Installation of XP.

To be safe, back up your data and some special stuff to a flash drive.

    ----------------------------------

Boot from the original XP CD. Pass the first screen offering Console repair and proceed as if you install a new XP.

After accepting etc., the new Setup screen lights up and would detect the current XP installation.

You have an option to press R to repair.

Use it, would take about 45 min. and you would an Installation of XP refresh all by keeping your Application, data and XP configuration.

P.S. If you have made changes to the WinXP definition (special permission as firewall) security to look on them after the update because they could go back to the default value.

    I bought a T135D early January.
