Wireless connection speed began to 130mbps, but has now passed to 65mbps

Recenly moved the computer in another room installed the wireless card to connect to the router from Sky Broadband. Starting speed showed to 130mbps, but now fell to 65mbps. Any ideas why this should be. Also the connection is unstable and is often lost.

This is probably due to the power of the wireless signal and the occasional interference.

Either move the router or your computer. Alternatively, you can use a range extender wireless for extent (boost) the wireless signal.

I can't scroll through sites that I connect. something happened in Firefox Mozilla. He used to work when I am connected to a Web page, but not now. all I can do is to manipulate the page through links on the page. No sidebar to scroll or the other. You get a pop-up window or dialog style without menu or the toolbar either? In this case:

38 of Firefox has a little problem with this combination of circumstances:

    (1) turned off tabbed browsing
    (2) viewing a page in a private window
    (3) you click on a link encoded with target = "_blank", which launches the link in a new window

The new window opens without menus, toolbar, scroll bars, etc.

Work on this bug is in progress, but I don't know if the fix will be available in the coming weeks. These are the known workarounds so you can continue using windows browsing private - one of them will work around the bug:

    (1) use tabbed browsing (there is a checkbox in Options > general > "Open new windows in a new tab instead");

    (2) shift + click the links to open in a new window with standard features. or

    (3) change a bunch of hidden settings as explained below - it will not you make changes to the way you use Firefox, but sometimes you need to enlarge some small pop-up windows that have been sized for a window with no toolbar displayed.

    # 3, here are the steps:

    (A) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (B) in the search above the list box, type or paste feat and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (C) for each preference that begins with dom.disable_window_open_feature. , if it is not 'true', double-click it to true.

You may find that you prefer this anyway, given that sites can band is more these pop-up windows features.

I received a message on my PC saying "display driver has failed, but has now recovered," I got a black screen when it happened.  Does anyone know what this means?

It is more informative than an error message.  If she does not recover, it would be a problem.  You may be able to solve it by installing the latest video driver available.

  • Vs direct wireless connection speed.

I have been using a WRT610N router for several years.  A couple of weeks, I bought an iPad 2.  I don't know if this is a limitaion to the iPad 2 or a problem of connection speed wireless, but when you watch the video You Tube music videos often stops and I have to press the play button to resume.  This happens more often if I use a headset Blue Tooth connected connected headphones direct, leading me to the initial conclusion that I see the limits of the processor in the iPad 2.  However, I recently downloaded the application of www.speedtest.net speed Test and found that the wireless download speed varies from topic 11-15Mbps, depending on (normal vs. next to the router).  If I go on this web site and run the speed test of my PC connected directly (connected to 1 Gbps), I tend to 36 Mbps download speed (swollen I know because Comcast so-called speed is limited to 25 Mbps).

    Opinions?

Let me clarify my speed with Comcast.  I currently have "Blast".  "Blast" currently has a limitation of maximum download speed 25 Mbit/s, excluding the "Power boost".  The limit is imposed by the startup file that has been uploaded to the D3 modem provided by Comcast.  I expect the download speed connected direct to be connected wireless speed, not just much lower.

I think that the download speed is not the problem.  I have convinced myself now that the real problem is the limits of treatment of the iPad 2. This is based on the fact that when I came to you Tube this AM of the Wi - Fi in a local mall today, the download speed is only about 1 Mbps, but I saw no significant difference in the performance of video playback on my connection from 11 to 15 Mbps at home.

    Welcome to the forum!

Driver download is just the first part of the process. You must go to C > drivers > win subfolder, find your driver (he'll probably be labelled Broadcom or Ethernet) and run the Setup file from there.

Good luck and we keep abreast.

  • Game WGA600N adapter used to connect to the router WRT310N but not now.

I have a game WGA600N adapter that connected perfectly to a WRT310N router. Has worked for 2 months. Then one night while being connected via the adapter for games, connection has been lost. I was unable to reconnect since. I have reset the router and adapter of game (full reset) and still not connecting. I thought that it could be the signal, but I put the adapter for games about 3 to 4 feet of the router and it still not connect. In addition, when you browse the installer on the adapter for games I can see my network SSID only one part of the time. In this case the weather in normal or next to the router as location mentioned above. Whenever I go through installation and network appears, I continue through the process, but I get an "unable to connect" alternation and the message "network found" that opens. By clicking 'next' never connects to the network. As stated, it worked fine for 2 months before this problem. I thought it was the router and replaced it with the same type and not luck. I must also stress that I was able to connect to an old WRT54GS router without problem. I also tried to connect wireless to the router WRT310N with another PC and had no luck in the connection... However he also finds and connects to the WRT54GS router without a hitch. I am lost at this point.

As you have arelady set up your WAG600N with WRT54GS router and it worked perfectly well. Then I think the problem lies on WRT310N router. Maybe your game adapter and computers are not connect to your wireless network. You must change some settings in your wireless router. Follow this steps on your router and I think this will make your adapter games work perfectly well.

  • "display driver has stopped but has now been recovered.

While watching the video clips my screen keeps stopping and starting and I get the above posting!  Someone knows what's the problem? - and how to fix it please

    Hello

See this article which has a Fix - it:

"Display driver stopped responding and has recovered" error in Windows 7 or Windows Vista
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2665946

Also with assistance from the manufacturer of your video cards and devices, check their online documentation and
drivers and ask questions in the forums (if any) on known problems. You may need to update
the video driver or re - install one even if it is more recent. It is sometimes necessary
to return to a previous stable version.

To install the video driver (if necessary)

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your
System. For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address
of the driver, description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on
Driver update (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right
Click on - uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

  • Windows 7 wireless connection problem

I just bought a brand new Alienware m17x and all drivers are up to date... .IM with broadcom wireless network adapter. The strange thing is that last night I was on the internet for several hours without any problem using the wireless, but this morning iwas unable to use my wireless internet access. This has happened several times now. Sometimes it says "not connected - no available connections" and sometimes he says "not connected connections are available" when she says, links, I try to connect to the network, but it says "unable to connect to the network. The only time wherever I was able to connect to wireless internet, was when my computer is automatically connected to my wireless network without me having to select the network and attempt to connect. I read things about windows 7, with a mode of "sleeper" for wireless connections or something, and that can be the cause of it and that it is better to turn off or downgrade to xp. I am really frustrated because I am not able to connect wirelessly and I hope you guys can help me find a solution.

Guide to correctly troubleshoot wireless M17x
    with Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card
    by Glzmo

Since many new Alienware M17x all powerful users, especially those who use Windows 7 as operating system there are various problems with their Wi - Fi connection and post threads asking how their difficulty over and over again, I decided to write this guide to show them how to solve these issues properly Commons. The solutions in this guide were created and designed for 64-bit Windows 7, but they may also work in Windows Vista, although these problems were experienced by users of Windows 7 mainly in the past. It could very well be that the problems start occurring in Vista as well with the new drivers and Windows updates.

    I. may not connect to the wireless network and or see the wireless adapter when the Ethernet cable is disconnected
If you sometimes or always unable to connect to the wireless network, cannot connect to the wireless network when the Ethernet cable is disconnected, unable to connect to a wireless network unless you restart once to get this work and other weird problems to be unable to connect to a wireless network continue with section II. Otherwise, continue with section II..

Sleep of a.i. Disable on disconnect device
Some new Nvidia Ethernet drivers have a function called sleep device to disconnect. This is the culprit. Normally, it should only put the card Ethernet to sleep when the cable is disconnected, but it is buggy and thus kill the wireless connection as well.
Follow these steps to disable this feature on your Ethernet Nvidia card:

    1. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    2 double-click network adapters.
3 double click on NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller (Yes, that's indeed wired Ethernet adapter).
4 click on the Advanced tab.
5 select sleep on disconnect device.
6 set the value to disabled.
7 click OK and wireless should work again (may require a reboot later, but probably not).

I.b. install different drivers (older) who do not have the device sleeping on disconnect feature.
The above does not work or if you are not comfortable with these drivers, follow these steps (if step A.i. was successful, you will not need to follow these steps). Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding:
    1. click the Windows Start button in the taskbar.
    2 click on Control Panel.
3 click on uninstall a program.
4 in the list, double-click Nvidia drivers.
    5. Mark Remove only the following.
6 in the box below, only check the Nvidia Network driver.
7 click Remove and follow the uninstall instructions.
8 restart the system, if you are prompted to.
9 download another (older) driver from Nvidia.
    10 install the old driver.
11 when asked what drivers you want to install, select only the network driver.
12 follow the installation instructions and restart your system if prompted.

II. Low or fluctuating wireless connection speeds
If you have problems with WiFi low connection speeds (such as rates decline over time, the speeds are much lower than they should be, network lag/stutter in online games, loss of light packets, loss of internet connection as LAN works and other weird things) or speeds of fluctuating wildly without apparent reason wireless connection install the version of the Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8 drivers instead of the standard Broadcom drivers. All older drivers will usually cause the speed of connection under normal. Note, however, that you may need to install the driver manually via Device Manager as the pilot was not released for another laptop and is not officially available to the M17x yet - that's why the installer won't work. Take care to create a system restore point before proceeding.
Here is a step by step how manually install the driver:

    1. download the drivers Dell Wireless 5.60.18.8.
2 check out the R29128.exe file using an extraction utility like WinRAR or just run it and quit the installation program.
    3. open the Device Manager of Windows by pressing Win + break, and then click on Device Manager on the left side.
    4 double-click network adapters.
5 double-click the Broadcom 802.11n network adapter entry.
6 click on the driver tab.
7 click the button Update driver .
8 click Browse my computer for driver software.
9 click on Let me take form a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
10 click the disk provided .
    11 click Browse.
    12. select the folder that you extracted the drivers you just downloaded in step 1. in.
13 select the subfolder DRIVER_US (if you are in the United States), DRIVER_JP (if you are in the Japan) or DRIVER_ROW (if you are in the rest of the world), according to the region you are in.
14 click on the Open button.
    15 click OK.
16 select the driver that says Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini-Card of the list (you may have to scroll down to see - it presents itself as second to the last in the list for me).
17 click on the Next button.
18 you will get a warning that the driver that you are about to install is not compatible with your hardware. Ignore the warning and proceed with the driver installation.
19 restart your system if prompted to do so.
20 your new driver should now be properly installed and the speed of your wireless connection in the order.

III. If all else fails (or you've just had enough of boredom arising from the Dell Wireless 1510/Broadcom card)
Replace the Dell Wireless 1510 problem with a card half-mini Intel Ultimate N WiFi Link 5300 A/G/N (use the bluetooth as the third antenna antenna or buy you an additional antenna for this). It works very well with the M17x, has better connection speeds to strips of the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (this last has speeds really bad on the Broadcom/1510), it has not required to jump through the hoops to make it work properly and much more, it works with standard drivers and Intel maintains their drivers up to date. It is also much more reliable and faster as well, especially on the 5 GHz band, but also on the 2.4 GHz band.

For more information on the subject of tweaking the settings of your Dell Wireless card, check out the official setting advanced properties: Dell Wireless WLAN Card User Guide.

I hope that this guide will help you solve your Wi - Fi connection and allow you to enjoy speeds of complete wireless connection on your laptop Alienware M17x.

Addendum: Quick links in this Guide

Download the driver for the Mini PCI Dell Wireless 1510 card used in this guide.

Download the latest Broadcom driver as an alternative to the Dell a little older driver who may or may not solve the problems more. Some have seen more success than with the 5.60.18.8 drivers with it (you need to use the 802.11n network adapter driver rather than at the entrance to Dell Wireless 1510 Wireless-N WLAN Mini Card in step II.15. the guide when you use this driver).

  • My iPad has been slow and has now stopped working completely and does not light

My iPad is a few years old (I think that the iPad 2, 32GB model A1395 2, no internet,).  For w a few weeks, it has been very slow but has now stopped completely.  I can't turn on even when connected to a power source.  Any ideas?

    Bob

You can try to reset: hold the home and power buttons at the same time and continue to hold until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If you see the Apple, you should be in business. Once the reset is complete, the Slide to Unlock screen will be displayed.

If this does not work, you will probably want to pay a visit to the Apple Store, so they can watch. It costs nothing for looking at it. Don't forget to take a go-Genius Bar, so you don't have to wait all day...

  • "The internet connection speed" Vs "the speed of a wireless adapter.

    Hello

I'm subscribered of a DSL with a speed of 512 Kbps (kilobits per second).

However, when I tested the speed of my internet connection with a variety of Web sites, the speed of a wireless router test while wirelessely connected to a wireless router, I have not found any speed of 512 Kbps.
What I found is shown on screenshots below to test the speed of connection to internet Web sites.

As a result, my question are:

First: What would be my answer if I asked about the speed of your internet connection is? Is there a difference between the speed of a LILY and the speed of an internet connection?

Finally: In the screenshot below, the speed of the wireless adapter, I think. If so, what advantage is there this speed?

Traditional math units go up (or down) in thousands so yes 1000 K = 1 M. computers have slight variation because in some cases, it is 1024 but the difference is not significant.

The A in ADSL is asynchronous for the upload and download are not equal. As that data consumer is not serious to you, everything you send upwards is requests for web pages where are small compared to the downloaded pages.

European providers stuck to the same speed of upload years even if the download rate has increased.

One of the problems we have is that there are people like you stuck at 1 / 2 Mb/s using systems designed for multi-Mb of Microsoft networks.

  • JWNR2010v5 (N300 wireless router) will support 100 Mbps connection speed internet in LAN?

Is this true? that which is the maximum speed of JWNR2010v5 for the LAN support. I don't mind the wireless speed, I use the maximum LAN. Thank you in advance.

Your provider is correct. Either move your router to a router which supports! 000Mbps (MGI) LAN and WAN ports or stay at your current speed Interent.

  • Wireless connected but cannot display Web page

Hi, I have a HPG7094 laptop with Vista 64 bit installed.

I tried for days to fix my problem. My wireless connection has stopped working. It says it is connected to my wireless - excellent - but when I try to open the internet I get the error IE cannot open the Web page. I deleted my network and tried to re-login only to get the same error. I did a clean install on my laptop and downloaded the drivers on the HP site, but it's always the same.

In the lower RH it says 'Unidentified network' (and the name of my network) access: Local only. If I connect the ethernet cable, it works fine and if I connect my mobile dongle orange it works very well.

I have other laptops and desktop computers and all these connect wirelessly without problem. I have tried to 'fix' the wireless connection and not to renew the period of INQUIRY, still no joy. I connected on the router from my office and changed the channel from "auto" to "6" and "11", but this has no effect.

Someone at - it ideas, what could cause this problem, any help would be highly appreciated.
