Wireless printers turns gray again and again.

I have three Windows 7 computers and two wireless all-in-one (a HP 8500 A909g and an old HP 7400) connected to our network. Unpredictable, one or two printers become gray on one or more computers, forcing me to delete all print jobs, remove the device in devices and printers, and then "add a printer" back again. Weeks may pass without incident, then it can happen a few times a week. I can't show everything what I do which could be a precursor. Windows 7 I've read dozens of books talk about nothing like. My web searches have been unsuccessful. What I might try?

This is due to the printer's IP address when changing assigned by DHCP and name resolution issues.  When you reinstall the printer setup is and reset the driver.
The best solution is to assign the printer a static IP address.  (I prefer done systematically with network printers that these types of issues are too often otherwise).

Depending on your level of technical expertise, you may need help doing so, but here's some general information:
-Depending on the printer, this can be done on the Panel of the printer or via a browser interface.  Consult the documentation for the printer if necessary.
-Addresses must be in the correct subnet and outside the range of the router DHCP.
-Printer IP addresses must be set in the driver on each workstation.

  • iPad does not turn on/just the Apple logo and then turn off again

I have an iPad, 4th generation, 64 GB with WiFi and cell phone, it is only 3 years and suddenly I can't turn on the iPad. When he started to act up it would freeze upwards with no icons or the button "home" in response, still on the screen, that he was freezing. I was able to restart it with the top button and it would work for 10-15 minutes and freeze no icons or the button being sensitive at home. I could do a hard reboot and when I rebooted, it would work again for 5-15 minutes and freeze once more. This was during a week and now it does not restart. When I try to turn on with the button at the top of the Apple logo appears, remains on the screen for about 3-5 minutes (no progress bar) and turns off again with no other screen appearing. I tried to find a solution online without success. Anyone have any suggestions for a fix for the iPad? I would appreciate any ideas that anyone could have.

If the unit starts to turn back on the wide, then it seems that if you have a hardware problem. If the unit is charged and a reset will produce only a short period of service, then it is a hardware error or an error in battery, which would be also considered to be material. You can try to restore the device to factory and test without adding any additional content. If it still fails, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar watching him.

Most likely, the battery is broken. With AppleCare +, a replacement of the battery is free. However, without AppleCare +, a replacement battery will cost $79.

You have the apparent corruption of dbx files, but an easy solution.

Spend most of your messages out of the Inbox and then create new folders to send and sent items box after having moved the messages you want to save to a local folder that you create.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, Win2K & Win2K3 the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder Options icon | Opinion, or in Windows Explorer. Tools | Folder options | View.

With OE closed, find the DBX files for the items in the Outbox and sent and delete them.  New ones will be created automatically when you open OE.

After you're done, followed by compacting your folders manually while working * off * and do it often.

Click Outlook Express at the top of the the folder tree so no folders are open. Then: File | Work offline (or double-click on work online in the status bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until the compacting is completed.

    General precautions for Outlook Express:

Do not archive mail in the receipt or sent items box. Create your own user-defined folders and move messages you want to put in them. Empty the deleted items folder daily. Although the dbx files have a theoretical capacity of 2 GB, I recommend all a 300 MB max for less risk of corruption.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email
    http://thundercloud.NET/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

Note that for some AV programs, it may be necessary to uninstall the program and reinstall in custom Mode and uncheck analysis when the option is the result of e-mail messages.

    Compact often as specified above.

    And backup often.

  • Wireless radio turns on and turns off...

Hi new here and I thank very you much for your help.

My wireless radio turns off after five minutes on its own.  I saw on the net a fix by going to Access IBM...

Open connections to access and go in Configure, then global settings.  Uncheck the box "Enable Wireless LAN automatic radio"

Logins will be automatically turn off the wireless connection when idle to save power.     The only problem here is that Access IBM does not.  He gets up and you can not click on anything.  I read that it is because there was a security hole in an old version of Adobe Access IBM used, and they is plugged but never implemented up to date. You can not use this...    Anyone know how to bypass this or another solution to my problem.   I have a T-40, is said by the way.

  • Display turns gray or black (not of) sometimes and not can not be recovered

    Here is some additional information

I use a laptop with an LCD display
I am using windows vista and my graphics card is the Mobile Intel 945 Chipset family
I have updated all drivers for graphics cards, monitor and audio, video and game controllers.
I've updated directx and used the directx diagnostic tool and no problem not found.
All microsoft updates have been installed.

Until the problem occurs my screen tends to flicker.

The problem occurs most often after that I was using the computer for awhile and it never seems to be any trouble when I first turn on my computer it is only after some time that twinkling begins and ends by then turns grey or black.

Its usually when I use a lot of video memory when it occurs. For example, when I have several videos to youtube open in multiple tabs

This will certainly happen if I am posting a video in Win Med Plyr and I full-screen.

When the display turns gray or black, I can still hear sounds and things like the keyboard, mouse controls and volume are still functional.

From what I've seen, I feel not as if it was a problem with the screen itself.

    Hi Rjperket,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

are a. When you facing this problem?
    b. when exactly do you get the black screen?

    Method

    Step 1

You can try to start in safe mode with network and see if it's the same thing.

Remove all floppy disks, CDs and DVDs from your computer and restart your computer.
Click the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.

    Do one of the following:
If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then stop and restart your computer.
If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to select the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.
In the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to select the safe mode with networking option and press ENTER.
Log your computer with a user account with administrator rights.
If there is no issue here, then try the next step.
When your computer is in safe mode, you will see marked Safe Mode in the corners of the screen. To leave safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2

Reduce hardware acceleration and see if it makes a difference.

Open display properties. To do this, in Windows Vista, click StartCollapse this includes this image, type display in the search box, and then click Properties to display in the list programs. Reduce this includes this imageIf you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click on continue.
Click the settings tab and then click Advanced.
On the Performance or the Troubleshooting tab, move the hardware acceleration slider to the left.
Click OK and then click Close.
If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
Try these steps and let us know the result.

  • Help! Short circuit card reader. Computer stops, do not turn on again...

I have a special edition of DV6500CTO. I tried to copy something on a memory stick from sony with the card reader supplied with the notebook. The drive is too deep for the stick, so I had to use a pair of metal tongs to get the stick out. I think I accidentally hit some of the pins in the drive and all of a sudden the computer stops and even the power seeing that then the wireless card came out with the power supply connected. I pressed the power button, but the computer refused to turn on again. I have not disassembled the laptop again because it is later today. I hope that this is nothing serious for the motherboard... But I wonder if anyone here has a similar experience with this and could provide me with useful information so that I can go the right direction while troubleshooting. Thank you very much!

Try a hard reset (out of memory and battery and unplug him hold button / stop 30 seconds then go back and try to turn it on). I think you completely borked which means a new motherboard I'm afraid.

  • How to connect two printers to a network and be able to print wihout turning on their own computers?

    * Original title: printers?

Hi all... I have 2 two computers running... two usb printers on windows 7 and two 2 are their in any case I can plug such things so that we can use either of the two printers WITHOUT having to turn on both computers? now, we can use either one but must run on both computers to. in other words, I have to turn my wifes computer to use its printer and she in turn on mine to use my printer. It would be nice just to have turn on the printer, we wanted to use (never we have ink for).

    Thks in andvance

neither one of the printers are wireless both have usb cords

If your printer is not wireless or network capable, you can buy USB printer or servers that connect to your network and printers.

They then become the network printers.
