With regard to the Creat recovery media

P.Name: HP pavilion dm4-3050us Entertainment PC

OS Win 7 Home premium 64-bit

My problem is:

I bought a brand new HP, the name is over the top, and when I went to restore media (4 CD DVD)

I've done disc 1 and the next full recovery of the disk (2) data, but the action that has controlled is not complete after that

I'm dealing with this Message (try again) and when I insert a new disk it will start recovery disc 2 because it is incomplete

Hope helps

I've never done any changes befor this action

The quality of recordable media may just need to be moved up a notch. Here's a pretty good classified by quality DVD media list.

  • Need help with the recovery partition/create recovery media

HI - first thing I did when I got my thinkpad is a clean install of w7, but then I thought about it and restored the recovery partition, conviniently located at the end of the training, in order to create a backup dvd factory. Thing is, when I click the autorun (lenovoqdrive.exe) and select 'create recovery media', I get an error stating that "program files (x 86) \lenovo\factory recovery\recovburncd.exe" is missing... obviously since the operating system partition was crushed.

I tried RnR and looked on the software + drivers page and nothing happens as "... \lenovo\factory recovery\" when it is installed. So, where can I download the program that creates the recovery discs?

(I know possible to restore the operating system of the *.wim file but I want to leave that as a last resort).

Okay here's what I did to who mightve had the same question: as mentioned earlier, I have restored the partition Q with (your favorite free partition recovery tool), then booted from a usb winpe (with imagex) generated from victory aik (free).

first I deleted (from winpe boot usb) windoze partition with diskpart and recreated the 2 partitions S & C (and Q is on the left) by hand according to 'recovery.ini' found on q. then I restored S and C 'sdrivebackup.wim' and 'cdrivebackup.wim', respectively, using imagex.exe, which is actually two one liners.

Finally, I tried the bcd to fixation by hand according to "bcdinfo.txt", also found on Q, but that did not really work... so I just jumped into a bootable win7 USB and he rewrote the bcd by itself (I assume). the last step has been fixing the mbr by using /fixmbr and /fixboot bootrec.exe.

ATM I started just and afaict it behaves exactly like the first start-up of the plant. see you soon

  • Impossible to find in the Menu to create recovery media ThinkVantage programs

    Hi all:

I'm doing a product recovery disc for my Type 8380 - 85U Thinkcentre. desktop computer.  The help file says to go to Start --> all programs --> ThinkVantage --> to create recovery media to do this.

I did, but there is no option in the menu of ThinkVantage to create recovery media.

I need to know what the real app is only the tip of the shortcut to.

I called the Tech Support line and told to search for and download document Outphasing-67520.  I have done this and downloaded the Lenovo systems Toolbox which told me to provide me with the utility to create the recovery media.  I installed the Toolbox systems and create product recovery disc was not one of the functions that this app provides.

Can anyone tell me the name of the file and if possible the location of the executable file that indicates the shortcut in the menu create recovery media.

Thanks in advance for any help getting this done product recovery disc.

    Best regards

    Hi Netnubar:

You WROTE:... the executable file is "RRMedia.exe".

Thank you. You are right.  My problem is solved.

Wonder why two of the IBM support people didn't know that.

  • the system recovery media does not support this computer

I have a HP G7-1365DX and the hard drive (750 GB) is a failure.  I did a recovery file on a USB key from the recovery partition and then replaced the hard drive with a 120 GB SSD.  When I tried to reinstall the USB system, I get the message "the system recovery media does not support this computer."  Is it because the hard drive was replaced by a SSD?  How to restore the system if the recovery disk does not work?

    Hello

You are right about the source of this problem - HP recovery media often has problems of restoring the operating system on a smaller disk in quality than appeared on.

There are a few options available.

    1. if the 750 GB drive is still able to operate, use your recovery media to perform a factory reset and then use software (or Windows 7 own imaging utility) for this clone of your SSD.

2 create your own recovery media to use to run the installation - it would be my personal preference.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create an installation disk yourself using another PC - just download the good Disk Image ( this must be the version exact same origin supplied with your laptop ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  These Images are clean and a well respected source, however there are only limited versions available.

    Windows 7 sp1-iso-official-32-bit-and-64-bit

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

All pilots additional and the software, you may need can be found here.

  • HP 15 Notebook - r063tu model: what quality of Flash drive required for creating recovery media for laptop 15 HP (r063tu)?

I want to create a recovery media for my laptop HP 15 (model r063tu) on a Flash instead of DVD drive (had a bad experience with the DVD in the past). Should I buy a 16 GB or 32 GB of capacity 3.0 USB drive. Because it will only be to create recovery media, obviously I won't be able to use it for other purposes, so want to buy everything as this is sufficient (and save on costs!). Thank you.

    Hello

32 GB is necessary because the recovery partition is almost always about 20 GB or more.

I tried burning the files again for discs 1 and 3, which could once again, but 2 disk has been created again successful without any problem.

Official response with the support of HP on twitter:

Try to use the tool of media recovery. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-usb-recovery-drive. The USB has a boot device.

.. who has worked on the same USB stick 32 GB .  BUT it is not the same as in the HP Recovery Manager.

Don't bother more. I accept the foregoing as a solution.

Good luck with users who have this laptop. Also issues with the network adapter to which I am trying to fix at the moment.

  • Portege Z830 - Unable to create recovery media

I'm trying to create a recovery media on my portege Z830 with the "toshiba recovery media creator.
Unfortunetely, it says "no zone of restaurants on the disc": the only thing I did was to create an inactive partition with Windows Disk Manager.
I checked, the recovery partition exists.
With the warranty, will I receive a free restore DVD?

    > the only thing I did was to create an inactive partition with Windows Disk Manager.
That of the problem. Pre-installed application is designed to find the recovery image on specific position using what is called markers.
Now the application is confused and can't find it.

Why didn t ask here what you can do until you have made the decision to change something?

To get the disc for free? I put t know if it will work. Problem is that your obligation is to read s operating manuals and learn about your new product, before changing anything.
You can try to contact Toshiba service nearest and ask for help. That's all that I can say at the moment.

  • creating recovery media after upgrade to 8.1 window

Hello friends. I have a lot of confusion. I bought a laptop on December 2012 with window 8 preinstalled and created the recovery media about 6 or 7 months later. And now, I upgraded my system to window the window store 8.1. And now again I would create a recovery media for windows 8.1. So my question is if I create recovery media on a flash drive usb and if in the future I want to reset my pc or reinstall my system, I'll make window 8 or 8.1 on my system. I'm not a computer expert. If anyone can help me please. Thank you.

    Hello:

    You will get Windows 8.

If you want to do a recovery W8.1 image you can do the following...

You can create a system image in W8.1 and save it on a portable hard drive or set of DVD as you might in W7.

Instead of making a bootable cd as in W7, you need a boot flash drive boot. You can use a flash drive to very small capacity (256 MB) for the startup recovery W8 flash player.

Check out these links for more information.

Create the image of the W8.1 system:

    http://www.hanselman.com/blog/CreateACompleteSystemImageBackupWithWindows81AndFileHistory.aspx

Create bootable W8.1 flash player to access the system image.  Don't forget, you can use this drive, you can boot from it and access the system image you created on DVD or a portable USB hard drive.

  • Create recovery media requests double layer DVD

    Good evening everyone.

I just took delivery of my 5 new books for new employees of my company.

3 of these notebooks are HP Probook 450 G2 (REF: J4R69EA)

(These are the models with 128 GB SSD drives)

The other two are Lenovo E540 with similar specs.

So let's start, create recovery media. To ensure that is done before I give them to end users in question.

While trying to create the windows disk, the program "HP Recovery Disc Creator" requires the double layer DVD: "Please insert a DVD double layer to move forward."

The DVD in question that I use are discs of "Sony DVD + R 120 min / 4.7 GB" that in the past have always worked. (and now work for Lenovo laptops)

Searching this forum told me to:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

Unfortunately, this is not the same interface I. I choose only a drive to create a backup to

(in this case, it is drive F:\ internal drive)

I also tried an external DVD burner with the same results.

I have not tried a USB, but this isn't what I want, and since you can create a backup set.

Link to a screenshot: (you must copy paste in your browser apparently)

    http://loxsvc.netau.NET/HP/HP%20Discss.PNG

It would be not that big of a problem if there was a real windows 7 key printed on the laptop.

If I had a key, I would just reinstall the machine immediately with an image clean windows 7 so I don't have to clean up all of the HP software.

but unfortunately this is not the case. So I need a Windows 7 recovery disk must be created.

Any suggestions apart from the purchase of DVD DL?

    Thank you for your time

    -Sven signed

    Hey @SCamm,

To get your question more exposure I suggest you post in the trade forums since it is a commercial product. You can do it at Business Forum.

Record double layer DVD-R and DVD + R discs can store much more data. DVD + R DL, also called DVD + R9 are what is needed to create the media recovery on this laptop.  Sorry to say.

    Thank you.

  • DV6-6c15nr, "the system recovery media does not support this computer."

Hi all. I'm trying to reformat my laptop (dv6-6c15nr), but when I try to reformat to f11the recovery manager f, all options are such that the system restore and restore to factory is grayed out. The next thing I tried was a set of recovery disks. When I used the recovery disks, it showed the message "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. 0110 A601UA #ABA - A1U60AV. Why can I not reformat my laptop... I remember that I was able to reformat until I sent offshore to get the hard drive and the radiator replaced by hp year last April. Now I can't get to... that this has to do with anything? someone please help...

I also tried without the bios downgrade F.19 REV: a. which do not help either.

    It seems that the motherboard may have been changed and the information system (tattoo) has not been updated to match that of your computer. While I can't fix this for you, I can suggest some possible solutions and I work to spare;

    (1) you can contact HP Customer Support and ask that they correct the problem.

    (2) attempt to control that recovery discs for the model of the motherboard is currently labeled as.

    (3) If you can still read the Windows product key of 25 characters on the Microsoft COA affixed on the computer, you can install Windows 7 using this key. Please see "how to install Windows 7 without the disc" to get instructions on how to download Windows 7 SP1, create the installation media and install Windows 7 SP1 using the 25-digit key from the COA Microsoft on your computer.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

  • Portable CQ58, disk recovery "this computer is not supported by the system recovery media.

    Hello HP,.

I have a laptop CQ58-bf9WM, which had Windows 8.1.  The 320 GB hard drive died and bought a new SATA 500 GB laptop.  had no CD recovery, went online, enter all the important information, serial No., model #, then purchased through HP recovery disk, received the CD (manufacturer 708896-001, 708895-001 708897-001) and put #1 disc in the CD started and that's what I get: this computer is not supported by the system recovery media.  You will not be able to continue to recover this system with these media.  "Error: 0100-169-1855-188 b" then you have the OK, then when you press OK, the laptop shuts down.  I pressed ESC on POST, then I tested memory and the new hard drive and they both passed.  HELP PLEASE!  Thank you

Should not have anything to do with the new hard-both disk that is at least equal or greater than original ability, they work. It is 'possible' that you have received the wrong set of recovery.

Thing of OE to check. Enter the BIOS by pressing F10 immediately after turning on (have to press ESC, then F10 to the menu). Is the serial number, model number.etc all intact?

  • Pavilion 23-b244 AiO: the system recovery media does not support this computer

    Hey all,.

I had a power outage (1 TB) HD material on me about a week ago and replaced by a (500 GB) SSD, not purchased from HP.  I then ordered the recovery disc from HP for this particular serial number.  Whenever I boot on the recovery discs, I get "this computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media. "The Minsize argument in the instructions to build on the DVD file provides a minimum of 140 GB, so I don't think I have a new smaller drive system is the question.

Last month I have updated the firmware to v80.08, and in the bios "product name", 'SKU number', 'serial number of the chassis' fields are all empty.  In "System ID", everythign is empty except UUID and family name.

I think that's why I'm not able to boot to recovery discs?

Any help would be appreciated, I have use this computer for quickbooks and have bee unable to do accounting for a week and a half.

Figured it out! On my Pavilion, you press Ctrl + A in the bios then click on 'System IDs'. Then I was able to type in the ID to build my recovery and support the byte to feature on the sticker under my machine. F10 to save then the recovery media recognized the computer properly and booted up!
