• Problem with the software Modem on Satellite Pro L40

  I tried to set up a connection Dial-Up Networking on a Satellite Pro L40 running Vista and can't get the modem to talk to the modem from the ISP. The connection appears OK and then you can hear the modem dial, but when the ISP picks up there is a bit of yelling and then my modem abandons the connection and I get the standard vista connection failed box.

  I have a satellite pro L40-15 and it was running vista basic but very slowly.

  Disc 5 is updated the bios

  The guy where I bougt garage computer (a metal regular store named expert) says that it is posible with discs tose.

You can remove the laptop HARD drive, put it in a small box of HDD SATA 2.5 and connect the HARD drive to the other PC / laptop as external device. You will have full access to all stored data. So you can do the backup.

  I worked on different computers and laptops and I must say that these start-up delays are there nothing unusual.

  Toshiba laptops support many additional features and applications and background processes must be loaded early in the boot process.

  This could lead to short delays. But believe me, there s nothing wrong with the laptop.
  Of course you can disable most of these processes, but please don t wonder if then everything is like FN keys, etc. will not work and can not be used.
