WithNative mix Cascade SDK SDK BB10

Hi all

In my project, I need to interface developed with Cascade SDK and I need to use some functions in

Is could someone please tell me if I can use the Cascade SDK with native SDK for a project? If it is possible, how do I do to use both of them.

Thank you

Hello

I finally found the solution to add this audio native lib to my project by adding:

# Add library dependency
LIBS += -laudio_manager

to my .pro.

Thanks for your suggestion.

  • Using the two PB 2.0 + SDK & BB10 Air SDK in Flash Builder 4.6

    Hello

Any of you have experience creating applications using the PB2 + and BB10 Air SDK in Flash Builder? How do you change the build configuration between two SOFTWARE development kits? So let's say you make apps for Playbook and at the same time you are doing apps for BB10...

Where do you set your IDE with these settings?

    Looking forward to your answers.

There is essentially only one way to do it: you first install the 2.0 + SDK, then the BB10 Beta SDK. This is how you make sure that you have the data of these two software development kits installed on your pc. The Flash Builder plugin will be the BB10 sdk.

I tested some of the components of the SDK BB10 on PlayBook OS 2.0.1. Needless to say that some features are not supported.
Note: When I talk about libraries and 'ane's, I mean those provided by the SDK BB10. The following findings are valid with a pre-BB10 PlayBook OS 2.0.1 is the last one I think. PlayBook OS 2.1 can be considered BB10, although some features don't work there either.
Here's what I found: you can use fuse controls, but the classes in the package "qnx.fuse.ui.dialog" do not work because the classes in the package "qnx.fuse.ui.window" do NOT work.
You cannot use "QNXDevice.ane" because "NavControl" class which is indispensable to the actions of the bezel does not work and the notifications do not work either.
If you use "fuse" components, you must also use 'QNXSkins.ane '.
The "QNXLocale.ane" does not work. 'QNXNetwork.ane' no test however. The framework of the call does not work.

Phew, that was some writing. If I missed something or you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

... I get a white screen with no text on this subject.

If I follow the instructions "To debug your application using the command line" on the next page, then I get:

Finally found the problem. You were very much on the right track:

I must have installed the SDK before, because there is a directory ' blackberry-tablets-sdk - 3.0.0 "here:

    E:\Program Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0

When I installed the most recent SDK, a few nights ago, I noticed that the name of the directory was still "blackberry-tablets-sdk - 3.0.0 ', so big.

    Then bam, these problems.

I finally discovered is that the more recent program default installation:

    Research In Motion (x86)\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0 E:\Program

Notice something?  No more than I have, but:

    E:\Program Research In Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0

    =!=

    Research In Motion (x86)\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0 E:\Program

Why the hell would they changed the default installation directory?  What this meant was that my build scripts were still referring to the old search directory E:\Program in Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0.

    Hello

I downloaded the BB10 (10.0.4) native SDK and the sample application pack. However, some of the sample apps fail to compile (AudioControl and BelligerentBlocks, for example). The target isn't the playbook (Simulator).

  • Cascades SDK Beta 2 for Linux? Where is he?

For me, if the SDK isn't available, it's very bad news!

How can I have the beta 2 of stunts on Linux?

    Nicolas

They seem to have some internal confusion over the question of whether it is supported, there are works, should be available for download or other.

You can get it (for now) of this page https://developer.blackberry.com/native/beta/download/

The same file is in fact from the same place the Windows and Mac are on the https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/download page, but they do not have a link on this page. It turns out that it is a file with the same name and the same content as the one on the native/beta page. Here's what I got with the MD5 hash:

  • 3 SDK BB10 on installing XP

Someone at - it get the Beta 3 install on XP?  The InstallAnywhere shows, but then just closed unexpectedly.  Works fine in Win7.

I think that he could have the anti-virus that stopped it. On Win7, he warned me, but it inspires me to continue. However, I was able to copy the Win7 folder to Windows XP and everything worked fine.

  • Native SDK 2.0 to BB10/cascades...

I want to start on the writing of native code.  The only device I currently have is a Playbook, so if I start writing apps stunts I won't be able to try on a real device until the playbook is upgraded to BB10 (probably several months?).

However, I don't want to waste a lot of time learning and writing difficult code user interface as part of the old since BB10 is just around the corner.

My question - if I started apps written using SDK 2.0 native, it will be simple enough to convert and re - build these apps under the SDK BB10/Cascades later?  Or I'll lose a lot of time learning and writing code that will be obsolete in the new framework?

If these are not games, but 'Affairs' apps or something else, where you would buttons standard aspect of system, text fields and so on, then, you cannot do with the NDK now at all the...

If the application's UI-heavy, and you do not want to use stunts, so your best bet is to work with the new Simulator of BB10 beta for now because it supports Cascades.

If the application is not UI-heavy, but you do not want to keep as close an app of Cascades operation behind the user interface, and then you talk about Qt and can actually run on the PlayBook even Qt applications now. But not with all the parts of the Cascades. If this is an option, use the NDK with the Qt libraries.

Also consider attending a day BB10 Jam during the "world tour" http://www.blackberryjamworldtour.com and see if you can get a Dev Alpha to test.

Moreover, 'several months' seems optimistic... I think you can assume rather not before October at the earliest. If they decide to put all libraries of stunts in 2.1, however, or if there is a beta version of developer of BB10 on the PlayBook before the fall, and then those who could help you. They not have given any indication yet (AFAIK) that they could do.

  • Application of distribution exported opens but not set correctly by BB10 SDK 3.2.1

I was wondering if anyone has seen this before / knows how to fix?

Using the SDK BB10 3.2.1 installation a debug or release in the Simulator (10.2) works fine, however, if I Pack as an exported version Release, the UI on my app is all messed up (action bar / application menu icons are superimposed on top of the other etc..).

I have not seen this problem with the SDK 3.0 front

My guess is that you are compiling with the CSA 2.0 compiler.

  • BB10 and Playbook Air SDK race side by side?

    Hey guys,.

Is it possible to have both installed configurations at the same time for flash builder? Run the BB10 and the Playbook SDK as distinct configurations? Cause now I have to install one or the other, and when I install one, the other is just lost.

For example, I want to bring my playbook to BB10 application. So, naturally, I have had online, download Air BB10 sdk beta 2, install it. When I open the flash builder, I start getting errors in my code because im trying to access the classes that were at some point in time very available in the tablet sdk, but it seems that he has been replaced by the bb10 sdk.

I see no setting anywhere to "switch" between the two configurations of configuration. From my understanding, if you want to build an application BB10, u I use the sdk BB10 and with the playbook vice versa. You are unfortunately unable to use 1 sdk and develop at the same time.

Am I right my assumptions? And could tell me is it someone please in the right direction on how to manage both facilities?

    Thank you

    Theodore M

In Flash Builder preferences, under Flash Builder / target platforms / BlackBerr Tablet OS, disable the option "Use last installed SDK" and for the development of the Tablet, I have:

    C:\Program Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-2.0.0 search

BB10 development (in your other workspace), it should be:

    C:\Program Motion\blackberry-tablet-sdk-3.0.0 search

    Flex 4.6 must be intact.

  • get the problem when starting native/cascades beta sdk - "QML preview is not available.

    Hello friends,

When I start native/cascades sdk beta (latest version). It shows an error message "QML previw is not available. I am also attaching the screenshot of it. And my PC has no external graphics card.

Please tell me why I get this message?

    Thank you best regards &,.

    Dinesh

    Hello dinesh,

Looks like you don't have a graphics device that supports the preview mode. You must have a fairly modern graphics chipset with sufficient support to use the live preview Momentics openGL. Details are provided in the section 'Manufacturer of Cascades' to https://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/download/releasenotes/. Unfortunately, unless you upgrade your graphics card, you should probably use the Simulator or device to display your user interface.

I don't know too much about this, but looking at the QNX_CONFIGURATION in the BBNDK-ENV. BEATS you posted here, it seems that may have installed the SDK as a Windows user "bb10.

So try checking if user "bb10" exists and has access to the folder where qconfig.xml is supposed to be saved.

  • Just try installing the SDK makes me crazy

A few months ago the QNX Momentics 10.2 I downloaded was working fine until suddenly, the pacemaker stopped working. I gave up sorta trying to develop my App. recently, I decided to pick it up again, but I have so much to download files (I know that my internet is sometimes quite sloppy but...)

-Download the main installer file took me that so many times I almost gave up. Kudos to my z30 who managed to download reloading again and again when it fails.

-However, I'm trying to update the Simulator and the API levels etc. from the program itself. Somehow, files are ALWAYS corrupted and the program somehow realize that then he just keeps trying to run the corrupt ZIP, unsuccessfully of course.

-I know this because I see that the file stopped downloading at about 30-40 MB.

Sorry for the rant. So my real question is:

    1. How can I download the SDK files manually to update? I tried this other method (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Native-Development/Cascades-SDK-update-fails-An-error-occurre... ), but I couldn't find the files needed to step 7.

    2. How do to locate half downloaded file from my system (where is its location) and perhaps I can just try installation again? I tried just clearing my Temp files. But it still does not... don't always seem to download a fresh copy (from what I see?)

    3. What can I do else?

To apologize for sounding so angsty. It's really get into me, as this seems to be a simple but intractable question. I see messages dating back to months ago and again, it seems not yet to be resolved...

    Please help thanks!

BTW, this is the error message I get:

Update files are downloaded on p2/org.eclipse.equinox.p2.core/cache/.  Close the NDK, delete the files in this directory and try the update again

If you have a different network, you can download you could install the NDK and update there and then copy this computer to your installation directory.

  • SDK installation problems

I went through the SDK entire installation, such as described on page "setting up the development environment.

I asked for the smartphone code signing keys and received 3 *.csi files.

I downloaded and installed the native SDK BB10

I downloaded and installed VMWare Fusion followed by the simulator which I am able to run and get the IP as shown in the guide.

I then run the dev environment and go through the wizard of Blackberry deployment configuration (again, as indicated).

He finds my Simulator IP automatically and I make the record of signature when he asks Supreme COURT files. I have none so I select the last option that says I don't have them and move forward. The tab debugging tokens is omitted and I cliquerai finish.

I then creates a sample application, as indicated in the guide, but I can not perform the step #2.

«In the Project Explorer view, double-click the file of the bar - descriptor.xml, then click on the button set debug Token to set the application author information.»

I have a popup indicating that I have no debugging token value.

I build the application, which is the step #3. But when I run it (#4), I get a popup configurations run indicating that I must select a target.

Anyone know where I was wrong? Not as simple a setup as I had hoped.

    PS. running on a Mac.

    Thanks for your help.

CSI files are for the development of smartphone, SJC are development PlayBook and BB10. You will need to order and save a set of files of the CFS to create and test applications BB10/PlayBook:
