WMP 11 error c0011b1 - .wmv files no longer play

I am running XP SP3, which has recently updated to WMP 11.  Can play is no longer the .wmv videos. The error message sent me to a web page with the error C00D11B1 and suggests that the audio drivers are up to date.  No update is available for this computer and other audio programs as iTunes works fine.

All of the 'solutions' I found do not change anything.  I tried "backward" WMP 10 and who fails.  I also tried to install a free video player, who also will not play video files.  Any ideas?

Hi Rob,

Visit this link I solved the same problem in following it.

  • WMV file does not play when loading on the web... but file system work?

I have a MOV file that I converted using FFMPEG (are there better tools for this?).  When I open the file in windows Explorer, works fine, but when I copy it to a virtual directory and access it via the HTTP protocol, all of a sudden WMP 11 does not seem to recognize the file and he throws some sort of abstract error which brings me here:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/Webhelp/default.aspx?&mpver=11.0.6002.18311&ID=C00D11B1&ContextId=71&OriginalID=C00D07E2

Riddle me this: what could possibly cause this?  Either way, I tried to load the file into Windows Movie Maker, but it crashed it.  Well, wasn't so much a 'crash'... modal dialogue saying 'Import' appears and essentially takes over the machine.  I can't click anywhere wiothout get a "Ding" of the OS and my last resort was to end task.

I never knew what the problem was... the file was fine.  I could open in WMP11 via file-> open and file-> open location, pointing to the same location over HTTP (virtual directory), raised problems.

It should be noted that boththelinks provide information... If anything, I would say that it is the network at the suggestion of network, but the server was definitely upward - I had a feeling he might have something to do with codecs... maybe the server was to launch a crazy MIME type.

I think that we have finished upload the video to YouTube and go with it.

  • Files NO LONGER play in the order: the two album songs AND Overdrive WMA Audiobook

I have an old clip 2 GB and HAVE BEEN very happy with it.  Until recently, he was well behaved.  I have never sought or used shuffle and happily play my 'albums' (including books, audio, of course) in the order they came.

A few months ago, my audio books (Overdrive) downloads were not play tracks in the order LONGER.  Then, I checked and found that my music albums were also playing their pieces in a random-like order.  So I guess that the Overdrive and its software is not the culprit - the problem is in my Clip.

My video was blank (parameters had never tampered with) last week, I downloaded the latest firmware Sansa (1.01.35 as) dated 03/15/10, but that makes no difference to the nasty problem.

Today, I reformatted (that hurt, lose all the music and books that I got in there), but reloading a known album the video is STILL to play the tracks on the album in an odd order.

    Nothing works.

    What needs to be done?

Any help is received with gratitude!

    James,

Thanks for your suggestion of "reset".  This caused my pieces of music to play in the original order once again!

Now it's on to download a book from Overdrive and see how it works.

I'll make the time where I tested it.

  • Error "incompatible binary translation with long play mode...". »

    Hello

In short, what I'm trying to do is to take some VMs (windows server 2008 r2) created via vSphere (v 4.1), copy them on a local machine and work on using VM Player (v 5.0.1). I am able to create virtual machines without problem and move them to the wire in my machine. When I try to run them in the drive, I get the following errors:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/339/error1ac.PNG/

clicking ok gives me the following error:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/809/error2n.PNG/

If I change my vmware player so that the virtualization engine of the processor for the virtual machine runs with Intel VT-x/EPT then I get the second error message but not the first. The second troubleshooting message told me that I must ensure that Intel Virtualization is enabled, which is:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/600/pic3vo.PNG/

I also ran the vmware compatibility check, which came to own:

    http://ImageShack.us/photo/my-images/32/pic4wy.PNG/

Has anyone else encountered this error? I tried to create a new Windows Server 2008 R2 VM on the player and I get the same error message. If I choose Windows Server 2008, then everything is fine.

    Suggestions would be appreciated.

    Welcome to the community,

sounds as if VT - x is not enabled in the BIOS of the physical system. Once you are in the BIOS, you can also activate the "Execute Bit Disable function". After having edited any of these settings, that you may need to power cycle the host (power power off).

  • I have no sound when I play wmv files.

I have Windows XP. I can download wmv files. He plays, but I have no sound at all. All my volumes are turned upward. How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

    · You hear the sound on the other media files that you play?

    · What is the service pack installed on the computer?

    · You use Windows media player to play the file?

    · If so, what is the version of Windows media player on the computer?

    · Do you remember recent changes made to your computer before the show?

Install the latest codec for .wmv file and check the result.

  • Windows DVD Maker do not accept the wmv files error file is not supported.

    Hello

I just downloaded a video on YouTube using the 'FreeYouTubeDownload' of DVDVideosoft software.  He managed to create a file wmv to me.  I know it works because when I click on the video file and click on 'play', Windows Media Player automatically opens and plays the video.  So far so good.

I want to burn the file on a DVD.  When I open Windows DVD Maker, click on 'Add items' and click on the video file wmv, I get an error message saying that the file is not supported.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. This is my first time using DVD creation.  I checked the DVD Maker for filters, but there aren't any.  What gives?  WMV files are supposed to be supported by DVD Maker, Yes?  My DVD authoring program is defective?  Or is the file that the program created YouTubeDownloader defective?  I think not, because Windows Media Player does not play the video.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Following up on my own question.  Further investigation revealed that from other sources wmv files were working with DVD Maker.  Therefore, the wmv files, created by the freeware program that I used that were not compatible.  I then used the freeware program to create files avi instead, and they were working with DVD Maker.  I did my DVD and all is well.

  • Media Player will not play WMV files

It works sometimes, but very slow

    Hello

    1. when the question is is produced?
    2. don't you get an error message when the file does not play. WMV file?
    3. do you use another third party player to read the files?
    4. you have any third-party codecs pack installed in the computer?

Please follow these steps and check if the problem persists.

    Step 1:

I suggest that you run the SFC scan on your machine to check if the problem is caused by a lack or file system damage (S).

    Step 2:

You can uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player, and check.

Please note that Windows Media Center will be reinstalled in the meantime. All of the settings in Windows Media Center will be reset.

    a. open the configuration/programs and features Control Panel.
    b. click on "Turn Windows features on or off" in the left pane.
    c. expand "Multimedia functions", uncheck "Windows Media Player". Click 'Yes' to continue and click OK to exit. Then restart.

Note: If you turn off your WMP, Windows Media Center will close either. You may need to reconfigure the settings for Windows Media Center after her reactivation.

    d. open "Turn Windows features on or off" again. Activate the 'Windows Media Player' and 'Windows Media Center' features. Turn it back on.

  • WMP11 Vista cannot read attachment WMV files.

Vista Home Premium 32 fully updated and current running.

    WMP 11

    DirectX 10

Whenever I try to play a video that is contained in an email as an attachment (webmail), I get the error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player cannot support the
file type or a required codec might not be installed on your computer. »

However if I download an attachment on my desk, WMP will play very well.  There is nothing wrong with the file because it does not play after downloading.  I tried with several different WMV files and the result is the same.   These same files play fine e-mail on my XP system.  I get lots of emails with attachments and have to stop and download each of them is a pain.

The file type is correct (WMV).

The file will not display all properties of the WMP playlist as an attachment.

See the file propertioes of the WMP playlist after downloading.

It shows the Code Audio: WMA 9.2 video: WMV 9

Another showed: V8 WMA and WMV V7

I ran SFC/scannow, and he said there is a mistake he could not correct and referred me to C:\windows\logs\CBS\CBS.log but I can't access it.  I tried several different ways, and I get "access denied".

What web browser do you use to access webmail?

Unfortunately, it is a common problem and is caused by the e-mail client or the web browser not related the correct file for WMP type. The only solution is to manually save the attachment to disk hard (as you have already discovered).

  • Windows Media Player 12 will not play mp4, mp3, wmv files through IIS hosted local site when the PC is disconnected from the Internet

I have an IIS Web site 6.1 on local 32-bit Windows 7 machine that serves HTML and MP4 videos via Internet Explorer on the local computer.  An internet connection is not necessary because it is all local storage and local accommodations through IIS.  IIS is configured to serve the MP4 videos in the form of downloadable files, don't not streaming somehow.  I have the right MIME type ".mp4" with the installation of "video/mp4" in the IIS server, so I don't think that's the problem.

When the machine is connected to the internet, by clicking on a video link MP4 in any HTML page served by the local IIS server results in Windows Media Player opening and playing the video in its own window.  However, when the Ethernet cable is unplugged, by clicking on the same results of video link MP4 in Windows Media Player by opening its own window, and then display this error message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file.  If the file is on the Internet, connect to the Internet.  If the file is on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.

It's almost as if Windows Media Player has a bug and since it accesses this media file via a URL, but the machine is not connected to a network, he thinks that this file is unplayable.

When the Ethernet cable is disconnected, the local IIS server is still all the HTML code and ActiveX content except for media files.  I also tried to access MP3 and WMV files via the IIS server to see if Windows Media Player will open those when the computer is disconnected from the Internet.  These caused also Windows Media Player files display the same error message.

I tried the VLC (VideoLAN) Player after changing the property file in VLC of WMP for .mp4 files extension.  With VLC installed and the extension changed to VLS property, I can download/open the MP4 video using the link in the web page served by IIS all when they are disconnected from the internet.  The only thing I can't do is get VLC player to open and play the video simply by clicking on the link in Internet Explore web pages served by the local IIS server.

I would like to make use of Internet Explorer and Windows Media Player with this IIS server that serves the MP4 videos rather than using VLC player.

    Thank you

    Michael Rayman

I finally found the answer to my problem:

When they are disconnected from the internet, mysteriously, Windows Media Player 12 requires that you check a checkbox in tools > Options... > zone settings tab player called "Internet connection (ignore the other commands).  Once this box is checked and the settings saved on APPLY, then Windows Media Player 12 will play videos served by the local IIS server on the same machine, while disconnected from the Internet.
