WndOws guard program update omitting 80073712 and reinstall does not

I have a desktop with Windows 7 64 bit.  The windows update program keeps failing and I think I need to reinstall windows.

Dell sent me the original windows disc that came with my PC.

The installation works fine until after it copies the files.  During the identification of system files, I get the following message:

Error: Setup cannot continue.  Restart the computer and then restart the installation.  When you are prompted, try to get the latest updates.

I did this several times.

I also tried to run twice with all my software security disabled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want a restoration of the system, if possible.

Important:  I suggest you first backup your important information and files of other partitions or other disks.

 

Method 1: You can run the Check disk utility and check.

a. click the Start button, type "cmd" (without the quotes) in the search bar.

b. right-click on the result of the search, and then click Run as administrator.

(c) in the command window open, type the following command and press ENTER after him.

Chkdsk /f /r

d. Please, type Y and press ENTER.

e. Please restart the computer and check with the question.

Important: Running chkdsk on the drive if bad sectors are found on the disk hard when chkdsk attempts to repair this area if all available on which data can be lost.

 

Method 2: Run the clean boot

To help resolve the error message, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

However, when I updated the Webcenter extensions with help-> check the JDeveloper IDE updates, and once the update is finished, I rebooted the JDev. But after restarting of JDev, ADF applications no longer work. Infact, the server does not even start. It gives me the following error:

    JDeveloper almost always has problems when the installation folder path contains spaces. For example, your way "C:\Oracle\Middleware v11.1.1.6\".

    I suggest that you reinstall JDeveloper in a path without spaces. You may be able to get away with just rename the folder "Middleware_v11.1.1.6".

  • I have an update for El Capitan 10.11.2 in the app store, but it will not be installed. Whenever I click it, it says the computer must restart, and when that happens, a dialog box appears saying that updates have changed and he does not apply.

    Finally I got it fixed... I installed on another mac indesign. The folder plugin of this installation was complete. I transferred this plugin folder for my iMac and restarted the mac. When I opened Indesign, it seemed to be ok.

    enter Subject: config in the address bar and search for the preference named network.http.spdy.enabled and activate false by double-clicking on it - this disables the spdy Protocol. Please see if that works and a report. Thank you!

  • 646 ith Microsoft Office 2007 updates - uninstall/reinstall does not set it. Disabling the firewall does not set it.

    If repair office did nothing you need to perhaps totally uninstall and reinstall office.

    You will of course need your original media and product key.

    Well, sometimes it happens. I had a problem with Office on a neighbour and uninstall HP computer and reinstalling Office, it has not fixed the problem only a complete new beginning. You probably don't want to go to this extreme, then I suggest that you continue to download and manually install the office updates.

  • FP crashing in IE and FF; Reinstall does not help not

    Windows 7 64 - Bit on a Dell laptop for 2 years (Studio 1745).

    During the past year, I had the following problem: each player from time to time flash will decide to stop working and will break in IE and Firefox.  The browser freezes for about 30 seconds, then the message "Flash Player broke down" "send a crash report" appears.   My standard solution for fixing this is:

    -run a standalone uninstall

    -Delete everything in appdata/roaming/adobe

    -Delete everything in appdata/roaming/macromedia

    -delete c:/windows/syswow64/c:\windows\system32\macromed

    -Reinstall the current version (separately for each browser, sometimes as a plugin for FF)

    Most of the time this could fix things; Sometimes I have to do two or three times but in the end everything would work.  I could watch youtube videos, play games on kongregate, and teach an online course that uses flash.

    It crashed this morning (when using gmail work, something I do every day) and reinstall does not work.

    I've tried a few things.  I could see the animation on http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/, and from there I was able to disable hardware acceleration.  That did not help.  I thought that Firefox can be something weird with it, so I reinstalled firefox, no luck.  I tried rather install a debug build: 10,2,159,1.  This still crashes things.  I have not yet tried to roll back to, say, Flash Player 9, but this seems to be a rather extreme solution as something else is clearly wrong.

    Any ideas/thoughts would be welcome.  Memory problem? Video drivers? I'll try anything at this point.

    4. in Notepad, on the file menu, click Save as.
    5. in the file type list, click all files.
    6. in the file name box, type register.bat.
    7. save the Register.bat file to your desktop.
    8 right-click the Register.bat file, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or click on continue.
    9. try to reinstall updates.

    Click Start, click run, click Browse, navigate to the file you saved and click Open.

    Add the switch /wuforce at the end of the command run and then click OK. For example, the command run might look like this: "C:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" /wuforce

    Click run.

    Follow the steps to complete the wizard.

    Important

    To reinstall Windows Update Agent - download the relevant file from one of the links provided above and save it to a drive where Vista is not loaded because the file cannot be launched directly from the root directory of the system.

    Click Start, run, type: "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce" (without the quotes) and press ENTER to install the Windows Update engine.

    Note: There is a space between "D:\WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" and "/ wuforce.

    D: is the drive where Windows is not installed (IE a flash drive or a 2nd hard drive etc.)

  • Automatic update failed, and Windows does not start

    I am running Windows 7 and it does not start. Automatic update started as soon as my computer is awakened from his sleep. It closed several programs. The update had completed 30% when he stopped to restart the computer. As windows began, I got a blue screen message telling me that it didn't start.
