• All the sounds that are specifically related to the Microsoft system works not-missing the system tray volume control and Accessories Entertainment empty folder.

  I have no volume control icon in the system tray and my Accessories Entertainment folder is empty.  I can play the sound through iTunes and VLC media player but is no longer the Player Windows Media can play CDs or mp3 files.  I have more Microsoft system sounds and the sounds of a large number of online streaming sites no longer play unless I can their route via iTunes or VLC media player.  Windows Media Player says missing codecs if I try to play mp3 files.  I have upgraded to Windows Media Player 11 to see if that would bring codecs, but without any result.

  My problems were not related to the missing CODECS.

  I was puzzled for a while, until I saw someone in the forum with a similar problem mentioned that they had found a fix for this problem by granting permissions subkey. This led me to Google search for registry permissions.

  After that here, that's what I had to do, and although it seems that a lot of steps, it's really very simple:

  Once I had reached the drivers32 registry entry I pointed out the entry in the right pane. Mine said (default) REG_SZ (value not set). I then clicked on change on the Bar Menu and clicked on permissions on the menu drop down.

  This opens the permissions for Drivers32. I highlighted at the entrance of the Administration and click the Advanced button.

  This opens the "Advanced Drivers32 security settings. I made sure that I was under the permissions tab in this window. I noticed that the box called "inherit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here"was checked. Yet once, I did ensure that the entrance of the Administration has been highlighted and then I clicked on the button change.

  This opens the "permission for Drivers32 entry. I chose "this key and subkeys" apply to: falling to the bottom of this window. Then, I checked the full control checkbox. I clicked on OK.

  I clicked on apply advanced Drivers32 window security settings.

  I clicked on apply permissions for Drivers32 window.

  Once that I had done it all a lot more entries appeared in the right pane for Drivers32 including my wavemapper entry. This is where all along; Quite simply, there is not all the permissions to do anything, including being in the registry pane.

  I left the registry and now all my sounds are back and the volume icon is once again in my system tray. Who would have thought?

• Pause does not work on long mp3

  I have improved my Clip + with a 16 GB SDHC card and copied mp3 longer, about 2 hours of tracks la carte - sometimes long. Using these long pieces for a while I am no longer able to pause playback. The device reacts to the pressure of the button. On the second keypress, reading pauses for a short period of time (perhaps the 4th of a second) and immediately begins to play again. If I turn off the unit and a return, the pause feature is back working as the track continues where I did play. The problem comes back after a few minutes.

  Be sure to leave the player trunk completely before pressing the play button. If you press too early, then the pause feature may not work.

• Missing MP3 files

  When I copied the music and audio books from my hard drive on my rocket I have used Explorer and it worked well, until it changes from a removable media in an internal memory. Now, I can not find some music files when I use Explorer (for example I can't find an audiobook, but I copied the other audio books are still there). I can hear the files 'lost' with my rocket.

  Go to settings and change the USB mode to find files missing.

  The "rocket" has two modes USB, MSC (works as a hard drive) and MTP (transfers through Windows Media Player). The "rocket" sees all the files on the device, but your computer may see ONE MODE at a TIME: MSC or MTP. To avoid going crazy, choose a mode and stick with it.

• Virtual machines will not work after missing 6.5 upgrade, / dev/vmmon

  I recently updated my build-126130 VMware Desktop 6.0.5 to 6.5.1 and now none of my virtual machines are running.  When I try to start them, I get the following error:

  "Could not open/dev/vmmon: no such file or directory."

  Please make sure that the "vmmon" kernel module is loaded. »

  When I looked in the directory/dev, there is no listed vmmon device.

  From everything I've read, upgrade worked very well.  The application starts without any apparent problems.  I suspect since all my virtual machines worked really well until I restarted the laptop, there is a problem loading the kernel module.

  I'm under openSUSE 11.0.

  I liked all the ideas that everyone has.

  It is sometimes a problem with the new GUI to create modules from the kernel, which is most likely what you're hitting right now.

• DVD/CD-R has stopped working, pilot missing

  Hello all-

  I searched a little on the forum and read other posts and am always looking for a solution.

  I don't think that there is something wrong w / my DVD tray. I think it's because I went to the 'computer' and the DVD is not listed as a reader. I went 'Systems' and DVD/CD-R is not an option to download new drivers.

  The DVD player is essentially absent. I've spent at the Microsoft Fix It-link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060/ and run the fix - it for me and through the manual steps. I installed the Vista service packs w / no luck.

  I have an Inspiron 1721 w / DVD tray, Windows Vista Home Premium operating system.

  Not much of a techie, so don't know what other information to include, but happy to be guided through this process. I'd appreciate the help.

• Work space missing Windows PremierPro 2014

  I started and edited a new project yesterday and I backed it up where else so I know that it is not spent.

  I created a custom workspace based on the screen set up I have.

  I use a new MAC Pro with 2 screens of bolt of Thunder and a HDMI monitor.

  We had problems with connections thunderbolt while they exchanged a few times, but it was all good, when I stopped last night and save the project file.

  This morning when I booted up I noticed that apple LOGIN screen was on the right monitor, so I stopped and swapped the thunder bolt cables, all punt re very well.

  I then started the project Premier Pro and one I just got the locations of media on the right screen and the video output to the HDMI, no timeline, then tried for menu option to activate timeline no joy.

  At some point, I chose workspace reset (hoping to return to the default settings) and now I have no window workspace at all.

  All I get is the menu bar.

  I uninstalled first Pro 2014 and downloaded again CC, anyway.

  HELP Please?

  To reset the preferences, you must go to documents-adobe-premiere pro - rename the folder to 7.0 (cc) and 8.0 (cc 2014).

  Resetting would make your custom shortcuts are lost if you have not created any.

• iTunes Movie downloads that are missing work

  I use the latest version of iTunes and that you ran into this new problem: two movies that I bought - a real purchase and rental - downloaded and instead of display the work (poster / cache 'dvd') he displayed a "screengrab" of the film in its place. I understand that it shows that the work is missing. The funny thing is that the work did show as it was downloaded, and then disappeared.

  I understand that you are away from the work of two films that you recently purchased on the iTunes Store.  You have updated to the latest version of iTunes (12.4 v)?  The first thing I would say is right-click on one of the movies you have downloaded to your iTunes library.  Click on 'get info '.  Do you see the work tab of the work?  If this is not the case, click on the "Add a picture" button on the left hand side.  Let us know if this solves the problem for you.

• MP3s disappear when I load them on Sansa Fuze

  I have an album that I'm trying to load on my rocket.

  I drag the files and they appear in the "rocket".

  I disconnected and turn on the "rocket", but the files are not displayed.

  I reconnected and the missing MP3s from the record that they have been moved to.

  I had problems displaying images/videos, so uninstalled so I could reinstall. Big mistake - since I did it, FF absolutely will not install. The normal installation. EXE (I use Windows 7) always gets about a millimeter to the left in the status bar of crossing of 'download' for 'installation '. I then tried the full installer in all 3 versions of the English language, which simply pop up a window saying "the file is corrupt" without explanation or options. Help, please. I work from home and I absolutely have to use FF as my browser for my work, and miss me an entire shift today because of it. Thank you!
