  • Status.msi error with installation of the hp officejet 6500 E709n wireless

    It's frustrating.

"I tried to install a full print driver software for my portable printer wireless hp officejet 6500 E709n and even if I can complete the process, I get this error message: the component you are trying to use is on a network unavailable resource.

When I click 'OK', I get a "status: the path..." OK6500vE709_Full_14\setup\status\status.msi could not be found. »

I then get a third message that appears each time you start to the top of my computer hp laptop dv6871us: "Please wait while Windows configures the status.  And... It's constantly repeated ad nauseam.

How can I find the status.msi file and stop this endless loop of error messages?

    TX

Yes, it's very good information.  Thank you to be thorough to me.  I actually had this happen to me personally on my Windows XP and printer Photosmart older (different error message but even constant pop up).  I could easily (but a lot of time, I might add) fix my problem of:

    1. uninstall the printer from Add/Remove programs.

    2. run cleaning disc of all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

    3 restart the PC.

4 selection of a backup in CCleaner system option and then cleaning the registry using this tool. Click here and carefully read the reviews in CNET and opt to download the tool to see what I mean.

    5. restart the PC again.

    6. can download and install my printer on the site, but in your case, here are the drivers and the software feature full Officejet 6500 Wireless (the link is for the version of Windows 7 32-bit PC U.S.).

This can become very difficult at times, so I want to provide this very comprehensive document from HP which covers your exact error message and their favorite not to try.  Mine are a little easier but a 'tad - little' more risky because I provided a link to a specific 3rd registry part cleaner that you use at your discretion (there are others out there).  I like it because I can back up my system first in the case where that something else has been removed should not have been.  I don't have that happen, fortunately.  Please read this document as well just to be on the safe side.  I'm here to help (do not do worse) so let me know if I need to explain something better, but I think that you have everything you need here to start.

    Substitute:

Unregister Windows Installer and then reregister Windows Installer. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. in the menu 'Start', click on ' execute:.»

    2. in the "Open" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.

    3. in the menu 'Start', click 'run '.

    Hi the prey,

    ·         What is the brand and model of the computer?

You should check the settings of the computer BIOS (Basic Input\Output System) to boot from the CD/DVD. Check the manual or the support of the computer Web site for the same.

Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.

Run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to see if your computer is compatible to install Windows 7.

  • SSD not work / be detected - error Windows installation on laptop HP Dv6-1149wm

Well, well, I tried three different nine ssd: 1 kingston v300 120 GB SSD, 2 840 120 GB ssd samsung, and 3 an another kingston v300 120 GB SSD. Tried in this order.

The Kingston-discs Are not detected by the bios no error or nothing, nada. When it is attached to another computer running windows drives are detected properly. nothing wrong with that.

The Samsung player- It was the second drive I tried. It has been detected by the bios but diagnosis gave me the '303' fast error. When you install windows via USB, it asked me to drivers before proceeding. When installing from a cd, I could get to the point where I see the drive listed. I would get errors when I would try to partition or format. Not even partition the drive via the command prompt by using diskpart worked. It returns an error indicating an incorrect setting or something like that (Note I could partition the drive here but not format NTFS).  I could manually partition on another system completely. Formatting/partitioning via another system has allowed me to completely enter the installation up to the point where it says "installation of features" then it gives me an error saying that it was impossible to define the local system - or something like that. In addition to that I also tried to install windows on the other system that was working fine but would not transfer to the laptop. I also tried the previos on the ssd drive cloning, but when booting the computer gave me a disc read error.

My personal desktop (OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB) drive- it has worked. Diagnosis of computer picked up fine and did not point out the mistakes. The only thing is that I tried to install windows on it because I already had a facility there.

My thoughts– my best guess is that there is a kind of incompatibility with the drives firmware and the BIOS of the computer. The Bios (Insyde h20 F.21) is very limiting in a first time, too easy to use, and not much to do here, second he has not seen an update since 2011. Seems to me that the SSD technology may be advancing faster that HP can follow their updates (this of course assuming it's the BIOS that is at fault)

I am open to suggestions for ideas, basically anything that can help me at this point. I spent many hours on it and I turned empty.

In the end, I ended up putting 4 vertex in there. For some reason, the mobo refuses to recognize the kingston ssd. The samsung, I can't say with certainty because it detected well, but wrong on everything. Must have been a bad disc. It's weird that the manual says it does not accept the ssd because many old machines still accept DSS. Any ways long story short the the kingstons were not compatible, probably faulty samsung, the ozc was the only one that worked perfectly.

  • Error "Installation package could not be opened" when tried to install Age of Empires 3

Original title: installation package could not be opened

Due to problems with Age of Empires 1, 2 and 3, I recently uninstalled using Advanced Uninstaller. I then reinstalled AOE 1 and 2 but when I tried to install AOE 3 I got the message "the installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it. \Age of Empires III.msi"

I assumed that the installation disc (which must be loaded when reading) was struck and he was polite. The warning message still appears. I'm afraid I might have deleted something that I should not have when you uninstall the game. Any suggestions?

    Hi kafka001,

    b. in the Organize menu, click Select all.
    c. in the Organize menu, click on delete.
    d. click Yes.

Step 3: If the problem persists, try to install the game in a different folder or to a different drive
    a. start game installation.
Note: Do not click on quick installation during installation.
    b. follow the setting menus until you see the button change.
    c. click on change.
    d. in the path box, delete the existing path, and then type the following text:
    : \Program Files\Microsoft Games\game name
In this example, is the drive letter of the hard disk and the name of the game is the name of the game you are trying to install.
    e. click OK when finished.
    f. follow the instructions that appear on the screen to install the game.

  • !!!! NEED HELP URGENT! Cannot / uninstall ArcGIS Desktop: "error 1721. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personal or package.

I use a 2005 Dell Precision 670 with OS Microsoft XP Professional x 64 Edition Version 2003, Service Pack 2.

I tried to update my version of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop v9.3 to v9.2, but in the process of uninstalling v9.2 there error/corruption (although at the time, I don't remember getting the error messages).

Symptoms were: program icon not slot "start > programs" or less "C; "" / Program Files "C:/Program Files (x 86) or ' but the icon still appeared in the list of installed programs in"Add or remove programs ".

    Suggestions to be by ESRI:

-Re-registration of the service Windows Installer - Ran fine, but the error still there.

-File system - fine Ran but error checker always run here.

-Downloaded Windows Installer cleanup - NO error found.

-Downloaded CCleaner - NO error found.

    -Manually deleted the program, manually remove the following program files: C:\program files\arcgis; C:\Program Files\Fichiers files\esri. C:\Documents and setting\%user name%\application data\ESRI

-Manually remove ESRI records in the registry: I did it by start > run REGEDIT [press ENTER], then navigate hkey_local_mahine/software and sailed to hkey_current_user/software.

-Tried to repair the program from the installation disc, but it always seems to grind to a hault about 50-75% through the configuration of the repair procedure.

-Tried to uninstall the program with the vision more recent ArcGIS Desktop but I still get the ERROR 1721.

I was once in contact with the package vendor (ESRI) UK support team and they sent this problem at their headquarters in the States.

I'm really at a lost as to how this can be fixed, because this program is what I use for my career! Help, please!

This may be a day late and a dollar short, but there is a question we've seen recently with ArcGIS facilities.  There is a registry change to ArcGIS that limits the size of the regestry and NOTHING prevents installation once this limit is reached.

Do the following reg key change:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\RegistrySizeLimit

    Update the value ffffffff

    Restart the computer.

Here is some info on this registry key: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/124594
