Workstation Mobile HP8510w: Quick Launch LED buttons unresponsive
Hello
My quick launch buttons stopped responding in the entries. LED bulbs are working and that they do not respond to the touch but this does not cause in any action (WiFi on / off, mute, increase/decrease the volume, etc.). I tried to reinstall the drivers of quick launch, but that did not help.
Any suggestions, what is causing this problem and how to fix it?
Thank you
Sjoerd
Hi SjoerdvB,
Wat I suspect, your quick launch Board is defective or too loose, probably need a replacement or a check up...
Infact I use I use a laptop Compaq 6710 b and for me, the power button itself is dead... I'm under the it mode "sleep"...
If you are a small computer Geek, you can fix urself...
All you need is - manual photographic procedure your laptop from your computer disassembly laptop (research in the internet, u can get) and some tools such as mini screwdriver and much safe, patience and attention to detail...
Try to get the spare part for cheap at the hardware store or shopping online is the best (like Ebay and amazon)...
Buy it and then start to fix it all by urself...
Note - you could also try unpluging the jury of quick launch (after opening) and reconnect it is tight... It might work... Try this before you buy the replacement...
Mark this reply as "Accept as Solution" if it solves your problem. Click on the "thumbs-up" just to say thank you...
Good luck..

HP Probook 4530 s quick launch buttons
Hi, today, when I woke up the laptop the keyboard did not work... So I uninstalled with drivers
I know a simple reboot would have been enough, I was too hasty... I am the keyboard driver to a standard Windows keyboard driver, and my left Fn, CTRL key and probably others stopped working.
So I found that installing is quick launch them buttons work again, BUT they are switched (I guess the QLB driver is for other laptops). Installed from here:
I could not find a more recent version, not to mention one for Probook s 4530, anyone help with it please?
PS I also reinstalled HotKey support, no help for that...
SOLVED.
Installed HP Support Assistant, which has installed stuff like Atheros driver net, then a few updates to Windows, and then a new BIOS of this HP SA. And now its fixed, nice

Quick Launch buttons doesn't work on 8710w after fresh Windows 7 install
Hi all
I recently did a clean installation of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my 8710w.
After you have installed the latest drivers available: HP Quick Launch Buttons v.6.50.12.1 (sp46731.exe) when I press a button, the corresponding light turns on for less than one second, turn and nothing happens. The wireless button does not work even on light.
I reinstalled the driver and still nothing.
Quickluanch buttons worked perfect with the previous Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS.
Someone knows something about this issue?
I already have google without success, there are references to other models of laptops and drivers which supposedly do not match the 8710w.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Kind regards

HP Compaq 8710w Mobile Workstation

So useful to someone:
I tried one last thing which was to 'hide' TPM Embedded Security Device Availavility go BIOS, also disabled the «Vista Live App Launch»
After that the changes made to the above BIOS I have re-installed Windows 7.
Now, the quick launch buttons work without any problem.
I have not really now what was wrong, but the problem has been resolved.
Kind regards.

There is just a follow-up of all posts of 2010 and 2011, I have still a dv8t-1200 and I scoured the internet for a way to disable completely the keys to quick launch on my dv8t as static or whatever it is driving me crazy, and I will just buy a wireless adapter external if I need to.
I heard someone post briefly how you can disable everything somewhere, but you will lose your connection Wireless too... Do you know how to do this, because with a wifi usb device, I might be able to solve everything.
Thank you
OK, update:
I've unlocked the envelope of keyboard with led bar/quick launch keys and I unplugged the Ribbon on the buttons of the LED cable, and that definitely solved the problem...
New question. What should I do with the disconnected Ribbon? Should I type down or anything before the keyboard together? (edit: for the ribbon cable packing tape works fine)
Thanks for possible solutions, but that was easy to do and the problem will be solved, and I don't like about LED bar features.

HP Envy 15 æ 103NA: HP Quick Launch buttons Drivers + utility to system events
Hi all
If anyone knows where I can get these drivers?
I said I need both in order to get the keyboard shortcuts to work (brightness, volume) etc.
I have the HP recommended events utility installed... but still nothing works, it would be the HP Quick Launch Buttons driver?
Kind regards
Adam
You're welcome, Adam.
Interesting... maybe I'm wrong on the QuickLaunch software...
I have a G1 350 HP business notebook, which came out in 2013 - 14 (I got mine last year).
I just checked the driver for that page and they stuck the old version of software of quick launch on the support page of my laptop, so maybe that will work...
If it does not either, then see if the new hotkey software works from this professional HP laptop.
I can help you with the indicators of volume and screen brightness...
You can get a slightly different Visual you W10, but that's all that is currently available for W7.

Hello
I have a Pavilion dv7 - 2230ev running windows 7 complete edition x 64 after a new installation of the operating system. Although I could solve the problem with my buttons to quick launch to upgrade the BIOS of my product page and they are now fully functional, I don't get the volume slider window. I tried some updates of the quick launch buttons but did not work. Is it possible to fix this?
Hello
If you want to see the Visual display you will need to download and install:
MediaSmart SmartMenu here (version 3.1.2.2 for 32/64-bit Win7)
Until you do that you must have installed at least one application of the MediaSmart software package. The best choice will be in my opinion:
MediaSmart DVD here (version 4.2.5122 for 32/64-bit Win7)
If you do not want to use on top of software just to have the display on-screen en volume then check the app below:
3VRX here (version 2.5 for 32/64-bit Win7)
Note:
Here is YouTube video that shows what can be done with the 3VRX software.

Tx1000 and quick launch buttons
Hello
I have a Tx1000 (REF RX695AV) on which I did a clean install of Windows 7 ultimate x 64.
The touchscreen works can I open/close and drag the programs with the stylus. So do the buttons (Play, following precedent and Stop) multimedia.
What does work are the four quick launch buttons (screen rotation, display settings, start the QuickPlay, DVD). I tried to install Vista 64 (sp38171.exe) for the latter and while I now have a driver listed for the buttons located under the computer management, on the triggers of associated program starting a 'known compatibility issues"of Windows 7. (If I run it there seems to be problems with Windows Explorer.)
The button that I really want to work is the screen turn. (The display settings are nice to have). Can I do to get this key work? Finally, as an aside during the work of the touch screen, multi touch does not work. Do I have reason to assume that it is a hardware problem?
Thank you Tim
I have the same problem on a tx1340ea.
After that I extracted sp38171.exe ran setup.exe in Windows XP (SP2) compatibility mode, and it works very well.

Hello
Download and install MediaSmart SmartMenu on the link below and save this to your desktop.
FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp45001-45500/sp45140.exe
Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation. When it finished, restart the computer and check if you have now the volume display.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes

Laptop quick launch mute my computer Pavilion dv6-1050us button does not work properly. He puts the speakers muted, but does not change color. It's still orange, not mater if your speakers are on or off. His other (white) State works because it is white to start windows, but then goes to orange and does not change when selected but by selecting the button speaker turn the speakers on and outside as it should.
I've loaded and reinstalled the quick launch driver software (sp46731.exe), but the problem is still there. The problem is about 2 weeks old. Have not added any new software that I know. But computer installs updates as received.
SimonHello
First download the audio driver by using the links below and save the installer to your desktop.
Once the download is complete, right-click on the Setup program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation - ignore the warnings that you can see everything that is an earlier version. Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

Vice versa functional quick launch buttons?
The functional quick launch keys work vice versa. For example: if I need to refresh the page (f5) I have to hold fn and then only, press f5. But if I need to turn off the sound, I simply press f11 (without the fn). is it ok? Can I reverse this some how? And I can't find how to launch the software 'hp quick launch buttons' (don't start menu shortcut or icon in the status bar).
Drivers are up 2 date.
You can disable this feature by turning off "Action keys Mode" in the BIOS...

HP Quick Launch buttons is not compatible with Windows 7
Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor has reported that the driver for the HP Quick Launch Buttons 6.40F1 version is not compatible with Windosws 7. Does this mean that I won't be able to use the quick launch buttons. My laptop is a Pavillion dv 2410 us.
I solved the problem by uninstalling the QLB from the Control Panel, then the upgrade with Windows 7 went through without any problems.
The QLB work well with W7
