Wrapping a design around a 3D object

Hello, I am trying to understand how take the fish scale model that I did (on ovals) and processing it so that it is not only the form of the three sections of the sketch, but also that the scales remain aligned between them once the Blue design is wrapped around an object (3D) real.

Ni17Scales.jpg

I'm doing a sticker for all the world a model airplane.  That's what looked like the real plane:

Nieuport_FlyingFish.jpg

flying_fish_profile.jpg

I intend hand painting the rest of the pieces of fish, but the 1/144 scale (about 25mm long), fish scales are a little small to paint evenly!

If someone wants to play with the real .ai file, I downloaded on my server:

Thank you for your time and help,

Keith

Here is a copy of your original file.

  • How to wrap text around the anchored object (image)

I quickly started to get account that I am not the mental giant I had previously thought!

Having recently made the switch to InDesign, I fight to pick up some of the different methodologies, and more still, the different jargon.

I read the section guide from Adobe on this request, and I feel none the wiser is. I'm sorry to you guys with what is probably a very trivial question for users over three years, but let's go even of evil.

I am trying to anchor the image object in a block of text, with the image of the text wrapping. While it seems to be in my ability to insert the object and to wrap the text, I have real problems to anchor this object in the right place.

What I'm trying to look like this: -.

Can anyone please help me, a simple "idjit" way how to do this?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    See you soon... Scotty

If the image is placed on the page:

Drag the symbol at the top right in a paragraph before that the first line is ignored when the text is wrapped.

I suggest to save all the settings (wrapping text, the position of an object of anchroed, etc.) in the Styles of an object as it makes it easier to do global settings later.

  • I don't see Smart Guides around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in view

    Hello

First of all, I don't pretend to be some illustrator expert but I have a good understanding of the functions of Adobe Illustrator key.

However, when I went to design a logo yesterday, I don't see smart guides (blue lines, see below with all selected items) around all the objects on the artboard even if the guides are checked in order. I do not expect the controls on each being showing unless they are selected, but I do that I expect to see the blue line itself.

I contacted the Adobe Illustrator Chat but really, they do not seem to have a clue and seemed to be intentionally misunderstanding me despite the fact that I sent this image. They were also quite rude!

In any case, I'm now desperate so someone here can help me please.

    Thank you very much

    Mike

PS I looked everywhere online for a solution and tried some of those suggested but without success.

You may not see an unselected object with no line or fill in preview mode (this is why it is called overview).

You can select it when you don't have fill and stroke in the tools Panel and choose: select > same > background & contour.

  • I want to wrap the text around a transparent sphere

I want to be able to wrap text around a transparent in illustrator sphere, such as the text of Forefront is darker than the background text.  I followed this tutorial logo 3D (new) - YouTube video, but I can't understand what is happening after expansion to 06:13.  Can someone help me, please and thank you.

Assuming that you got to the part where the object is expanded (06:10), depending on whether you choose the "direct selection tool" and select only the outline of the circle (invisible, but if you wanted to see go to view > outline) carefully not choose anything else and delete (twice). And then you just object > Dissocier 3 times. as a result your forehead back text will be selectable.

  • Could not find the wrapping of text around an image in Keynote

I see post of 2007 where you can't wrap text around an image in Keynote. Is this always the case? Hope not... very disappointing if so.

There is no tool to wrap text in Keynote. Text wrapping is a tool of print media to maximize space in the column in print, if that's what you try to do, use the Apple's Pages.

Keynote is a presentation of screen based application, (slide show) so there is very little use for the text wrapping.

You can do a work around, but it is not perfect:

    • Place the image on the slide

    • Place the two shapes on the slide, one for the area of text, image size
    • order click on the two forms;     to select both
    • Format > forms > subtract shapes;     will cut a hole in the greatest shape
    • Paste the text into the larger shape

    • format text

  • Text wrapping is square around a png image

Hi I have a png as a file below.

I know how to make a wrap text around an image, but the text surrounds the image as a rectangle

    Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 7.14.15 PM.png

and I want to wrap around the image, not the rectangle.  I tried to add a white background for the png and cutting the edges, see screenshot below.  I used red to display purposes.

But she always wraps as a rectangle.

    Appreciate your help.

This works! When the PNG is incorporated.

  • Is there something to burnout in Illustrator to cut a design around the text?

I created a card that has a CMYK, two different SHEETS and SpotUV layer, which apparently will be last.

I'm just learning the SpotUV goes on top of the sheet so now I have to take this SpotUV design and cut around where my text will be in tinfoil...

Is there an easy way to do this? or I have to spend two days with my pen tool redraw?

    Help! Laughing out loud

IM glad that your mask worked, but it is not as easy if you need to adjust the design at a later stage in your approval process.

the spot UV COULD be formatted to go around in my method - what is literally the 'burn-out tour' you requested.

and that's exactly the type of printing that uses the knockout / overprint features are there to achieve.

It is a function to use the elements in layers and overprinting,

overprinting means the varnish will be printed on the top areas you want that he, rather than "boring" for white as the film is set to make on top of the purple background CMYK.

but the elements of the roadmap above UV items on layers in your design means that when the UV plate came out he "will enter automatically around of" areas of aluminum foil. as shown in the image above with JUST the pink UV Spot plate showing.

its helpful to have another look and a test for later use, because these settings and options are just generally useful for printing to set up.

    1. Make your selection with one of the selection tools. I used the magic Extractor
    2. Place the selection on its own layer and make the selection active (CTRL + left click on the thumbnail of the layer) - should see the ants
    3. Go to layer > Layer Styles > Style settings
    4. Check the outer glow and set the parameters of the glow.
  • Question of design around VSAN

We left the Nexus 5 K for our CF to switching to start our UCS blades. I wonder what the best design is for the following situation.

Active / Active NetApp HA pair.

FC 2 ports target of each head of NetApp in the HA pair to the SAN (Nexus 5 K in our case) switches.

1 port of each head of NetApp to each of the 5010 s nexus.

Should I 1 VSAN on each 5010 with each head of NetApp in there or should I have 1 common VSAN between the 5010 s?

Any comments on this would be appreciated.

A recommended good is to use different numbering on each fabric VSAN.

Fabric (or 1) odd numbered VSAN use (3, 5, etc.)

Fabric B (or 2) use even mumbered VSAN (2, 4, etc.)

It provides a visual cue for the operator to let them know what fabric, they make changes. In addition, in the case of inadvertence ISL to connect between the two fabrics that you merge your A and B fabric zonesets (I saw it happen). Do not "put any active trading in VSAN 1 for the same reason.

  • I can't wrap my head around resizing/resampling and what is the right way to do it (CS5)

I know it's probably pretty basic, but it escapes within my reach at the moment.  for some reason, my teacher never really went over this other that say 300 DPI was what you want to get better quality prints, so I have always just sort of worked with this in mind, and has never required much account "resampling" or that he was necessarily, box was just always checked.  im not sure how, or if, I myself was screwing all this time and I know that's not THAT hard so any advice would be appreciated.  and I apologize if this has been exceeded to death, but I wanted to use an example to help understand better (I hope).

Oh and most of my work I display on the internet, with the idea that it will be printed in the future, or with the idea that she can at least be printed.  I heard about the web, all you need is 72 dpi, but since I expect to be printed I just made 300 DPI and save normally.  It of a bad move on my part and I'm missing something by saving does not 'for the web and devices '?

    example:

    Screen shot 2014-05-04 at 5.01.20 PM.png

so I have an image I downloaded on the internet.  as you can see, it is at 72 dpi and near 12.7x17.7in.

Let's say I want to enlarge to a same 13 inches and increase the resolution to 300 dpi.

I'm confused that when I want to uncheck resample.  Since it blocks the pixels, if I increase the resolution the image gets more small and vice versa.  I don't know that I have enter when it's advantageous to have unchecked resample.

I feel really stupid, because I know this is pretty noobish, but we have barely touched on this and the ability to save for web and devices (not at all) in my design class.  Thanks for any help.

Resizing is only this; It resizes the image while keeping the number of pixels. Resampling is adding an option to change the number of pixels in the image.

As a general rule, you'll want to leave resampling of the equation when printing it is mainly used for the screen (monitor) watch one.

  • Can't quite wrap my head around loopOut()?

So, at first, I was confused and do not know if my RollBar following began immediately on the same frame as my last keyframe, or on the next image after him?

I've set up a few simple expeiments and I'm sure he's starting on the same frame as the last of them, crushing the last keyframe with the first.

So, I have a box whose opacity is

    100% on image 0

    0% on frame 10

then on frames 20, 30, 40, etc. it's 100% and it fades down and never actually gets to 0%, except for on frame 10.  Seems a little weird for me, but good.

But I feel like there are anomalies.  In particular, I have a circular mask and I'm animating the mask expansion so my object is hidden on frame 0, iris on frame 60 and holds up to 100 image, how I want that it is too repeat.

    So I expansion mask

    -222 on image 0

    on frame of 60 0

    0 on frame 100

Now when I go to frame 200 expansion is 0, no - 222 as the box experience lead me to assume.  So I put 100-222 image and frame 60 to be a keyframe of the hold and go to section 200, and it is always 0, even if the two frame 0 and 100 are on-222.

    I'm confused?

For the loopOut() to do the way you expect, you just need to make sure that you configure your keyframes so that the last keyframe has the same value as the first. Thus, in your last example, try to move your second keyframe 0 to 99 frame and set a keyframe for-222 to frame 100.

  • Trying to wrap my brain around self-joins.

Can't seem to understand the syntax or the logic underlying self-joins as seen in the code below:

    SELECT e1.last_name |' working for ' | E2.last_name 'employees and their Managers.

    E1, e2 employees employed

    WHERE e1.manager_id = e2.employee_id

    AND e1.last_name LIKE '% R '.

    ORDER BY e1.last_name;

I understand all parts of this (I think) except this part: e1.manager_id = e2.employee_id

I've been manually through the employees table, and there is no line where the manager_id = employe_id. But, however, the results are Oracle are as below:

    Employees and their managers

    -------------------------------

    RAJS works for Mourgos

    Raphaely working for the King

    Works of Rogers for Kaufling

    Russell works for the King

What am I misunderstanding? Thank you!!

    talk2me wrote:

So what you are saying is that:

    e1.employee_id = e2.manager_id that says:

1st reference in the table employees (for example):

    employee_ID is 125 and has a manager whose manager_ID is 120

    ...

    ...

All employees, whether they are responsible for or are not in the table 'employees '. Each person has a unique employe_id, whether or not he is Manager.

In the recording with employee_id = 125, the manager_id is 120. And 120 exists as a number in the employees table.

    talk2me wrote:

    ...

Because now we know the manager_ID as 120, we now go to the 2nd reference in the employees table and look 120 employee_ID and know who is this person. Then, this person is 125 Manager employee_ID.

    Is this correct thinking?

    Yes, that's correct.

It would be clearer if you run queries individually while you run through the thought process that precedes.

Given that we have two copies (e1 and e2) from the same table 'employees', take a look at the following:

    employee_id 125 ("Nayer") has manager_id = 120.

Return to the second copy of the employees and see who is 120.

Don't forget, all manager_ids are present in the employee_ids table.

    Employee_id is unique.

120 can only happen once in the column "employe_id." But it can be repeated in the column "manager_id".

    employee_id = 120 is "Weiss".

    So, "Nayer" works for "Weiss".

  • Pop-up window does not show in the right position in the sensitive design (was: place cursor object)

    Hello world

I create a demonstration of the software using screenshots and leading edge.  There are pop-up windows in this product when the user places the mouse over a row of data and a popup appears at the mouse position with more information on these data.  I used

    SYM. $("myObject") .css ({"location": "absolute", "top":e.pageY, "left":e.pageX});})

and it works fine until I set stage for 'sensitive' or I scroll to the bottom of the page to access the data rows.  When this happens, the popup appears in the distance of the mouse.

I'm not a coder strong, but anyone know how I can get on board an animation to recognize the true position of the mouse on the screen and then specify the popup to appear there?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you
