WRT110 / Range Extenders

Can I use a WRT110 as Repeater/Extender range for my main WRT160? I would like to see if I can leave my neighbor to access my internet connection.

Thanks a lot, I'm a bit lost with this stuff!

Bill

I studied my own question... you need to flash with DD - WRT and it is not possible with the 110.

  • Range Extenders duplicates

No idea why my Extender would create several MAC addresses on my device list?  I took offline and erased (all appointed Network Device), but they reappear.  Currently, there are about 12 of them, all with the same IP address.  Are they all identified as unique features?  Concerned they will be filling my router access which is limited to 50 now if I don't keep out them every day or two.

The range extender must have several wireless adapters which is normal, especially for a dual band range Extender. As with any device that has multiple adapter, MAC that is connected it will appear once for each address.

There are also cases where some sort of Proxy MAC range Extenders where connected device are displayed as additional MAC addresses in the range extender.

Not much you can do about it in both cases.

Wanted to know if the RE6500HG is compatible with my EA6500 as a range extender?

Hi, testedone. Linksys AC1200 antennas boost Wireless Range Extender, RE6700 are not High Gain. You can check this link for more information.

  • E1500 as range Extenders?

    I recently upgraded from E1500 to EA4500.

Can I use my E1500 as a range extender wireless for the EA4500?

I would like to configure my E1500 in my bedroom back to repeat the signal from the EA4500 in my living room.

Is it possible wireless connect an ethernet cable between the two routers?

It can probably be done with third-party firmware such as DD - WRT.  On a Repeater is usually one last type of station thing it will degrade your wireless capabilities.

Your best bet is to run cat5e to your bedroom.  If this is not possible, try to use one of them:

  • Wireless range extension

I want to extend my wireless to cover outside my house, on one side about 50 m to my garage and on the other side about 15 m of a space fun outside.

Current wireless modem is located in a corner of the House, direct line of sight, safe with just a window in the way. I can just get 1 bar outside the shelter (colourbond walls) signal but nothing inside the hangar.

On l ' other signal has to go through two walls of mud brick. 1-2 bars, but a few meters further, that he falls quickly to get immediately outside the House, I still.

Can anyone suggest the most appropriate product I should look?

    Thank you

    Marty

    Hi martyk01,

If the locations are all in the same wiring then consider by current holder:

Please also see WiFi Extender and run a comparison for your needs:

    http://www.NETGEAR.com/home/products/networking/wifi-range-Extenders/

It can include parameters such as:
-(wire) - Extender [access point mode] device-(WiFi router)-

    router-(wireless) device extender-[access point mode]-(cable).
    or
-(WiFi router) - Extender [extend mode]-(WiFi) - device
-(WiFi router) - Extender [extend mode]-(wired) - device

  • Recommendations to extend the range of a router AC

I have a Linksys AC6500 router. I live in a big house, and I'm getting drops in connectivity occasional drops frequent about speed (usually about 50% reduction when I go up a flight and 75% on the third floor). I've been looking at repeaters and range Extenders, but it seems most of them up to 600 Mbps. Y at - it range Extenders/repeaters that will give me the speed total 1300 I paid a premium for? If this is not the case, what do you recommend that I do get connectivity expanded at speeds of HQ? I use the Xfinity (Comcast) cable, if that makes a difference.

So it was a bit of an overpurchase to buy this model?

I tend to do a lot of streaming between devices and different TVs. I also have a security with live food everywhere camera in various places in and out of the House.

I would say that you have bought the right device. Since you are doing a lot of streaming media, this router AC fits the Bill quite right. As I mentioned earlier, you may need to upgrade to a better power adapter for your most reliable connection.

  • Computer "is" more low-signal router instead of range extender

I've seen a few similar posts; but nothing seems exactly like my problem; or I missed it.

I have a router WRT54G and WRE54G range extender; seem to be working well and talk to each other.  (Took a while, but I got it; and it has been fine since.)   I connected to the signal stronger WRE fast when Internet and slow Internet when WRT connected to the lower signal (which is further) - just like one would expect.

The problem: my computer (only place Office) will be unrelated to the stronger signal "Range Extender".  I'll work some time or leave and come back - and the link will be back signal Extender, fast router signal slow, lower.  I can click on my profile; Connect and sometimes come back on the most powerful signal.  (If not, try again and again until it crashes into the most powerful signal.)  [Even with "site survey" - I select Connect to the stronger signal, but it seems to connect randomly either.]

    - & - Another post, I think I could do something with the MAC addresses - for example, block my USB MAC of the router wireless receiver, so he 'only' to connect to the Extender.  (Better yet, I can say my network connection to connect only to the MAC of the extender?)

    Operating system is - 2000

Here's something I put in place earlier - for the most part just repeats above:

    Equipment:

LinkSys wireless router; WRT54G; 6 worm.  Firmware 1.00.7 (now 1.02.7)

LinkSys Range Extenders;  WRE54G; Firmware Ver 3 3.01.01 (now 3.04.01.)

USB LinkSys network adapter: WUSB54G Ver 4

-WHY it keep coming back to the lowest signal from router?  (The big question).

-Why, when I do a site survey, select the strongest signal and select Connect, enter the WEP code, he still occasionally connect back right at the lowest signal from router, even if I've highlighted the stronger signal Repeater when I hit the Connect button?

-If I create profiles with the most powerful signal, it is always the same (that is, sometimes it connects the signal the most powerful signal "Extender" and sometimes the Repeater weaker signal, except that I do not need to enter the WEP code if I connect to the profile instead of the signal of view survey.)

-According to information online, I found that the router must be on 'Firmware version 2.02.2' to be compatible WRE;   But - if I check for the latest version of the firmware for WRT54G version 6, it is 1.02.7 - does that mean the Extender is incompatible with my router?

-Are there a way to "force" the wireless network connection to bind to a specific MAC address - so I can restrict to a stronger signal of the Extender?

Scrooge, thanks for the suggestions.    Earlier, I tried the following solution, based on a similar condition a few - this on another post:

Solution: Configure the router MAC filtering does not to allow connections to the MAC address of the wireless USB network card.

Since I tried this a few days ago I was followed and it worked.  So, before he would keep switching to the smaller Repeater link.  In saying the Repeater from the heat to let the link not only the Extender to post a link and it is now to stay connected to the Extender and the speed remains constant.

  • Someone else has Apple Airplay jumping and drop outs when streaming music?  WiFi is not the problem, and there is nothing around the units of airtime to interference.  Impossible to listen to music.  Thanks for any advice.

I've recently updated several broadcasts in my house from V1 to V2 in the hope of resolving a constant jumping and abandonment problem I always had when playing music with Airplay.  I have a unit of airtime plugged directly on my stereo receiver that feeds music throughout my house.  My WiFi connection is not the problem and there is nothing to cause interference.  Airplay modules are not more than 15 feet distance modem or range Extenders.  Someone else has this problem and, hopefully, a solution?   I'm tired of doing factory reset all the time.  Many thanks for any advice.

I've recently updated several broadcasts in my house from V1 to V2 in the hope of resolving a constant jumping and abandonment problem I always had when playing music with Airplay.

By "Airplays" what are you actually refers to... Base station airPort Express, Apple TV, or something else?

... and "V1 to V2" do you mean you replaced a 1st generation 802.11n AirPort Express with a 2nd generation?

Airplay modules are not more than 15 feet distance modem or range Extenders.

When steaming audio with AirPlay, the flow goes first to the device host to iTunes to the router Wi - Fi, this unit is connected to. From there, he will travel to the AirPlay "speaker". A president could be an AirPort Express, Apple TV or an AirPlay device ready another manufacturer. If you use line extensions, the flow must go through those as well... so there is potential bottlenecks between the host and the speaker. One of these could be the cause of the issue you found.

  • iPad pro problem showing images video and Youtube eBay

    Hi all

I have a strange problem with my iPad pro (and before that with the iPad 1 air).

    Installation program:

    • Telekom VDSL 50, Telekom Speedport W724V
    • 2 WLAN Range Extenders (1 Telekom, 1 Devolo)
    • iPad Pro and before the Air1 iPad with problem
    • iPhone 6 s more, iPad 2 Air without problem
    • peripheral and peripheral issues no problem have the same WLAN settings
    • everything on the same level of iOS
    • no problem with cell phone, Wifi only!

    Affected applications:

    YouTube and eBay Apps

problem also occurs when you access related Web sites via iOS Safari, but less frequent

    Problem:

Applications have problems to load media files (pictures and videos). After a while, network errors occur und sites can no longer be reached.

Seems it to come in different severities: sometimes I solve the problem by turning WLAN off and back on. Sometimes to renew the lease from network works. Sometimes, I need to turn the iPad and turn it back on. Any action is temporary, the problem reoccur, and more I use the sites, the shorter the time before the problem came back again.

Does anyone have the same problem? Any ideas or solutions?

    Thank you very much

I have a similar problem, but only when I am connected to my Wifi extender (via the Powerline) devolo. As soon as I connect to my router directly, the problem disappeared.

In my view, the problem is caused because recent versions of IoS are more compatible with the Devolo WiFi extender.

    No idea how to fix?

  • Airjoue of computer Apple TV movie stops. Can be changed and took over

    Hello

Movies on iMac sent to Apple TV (Gen 1) via the wifi always stop at a time provided during at least one run. Film can be changed and will resume from the correct point.

iMac 27 inch drive Fusion, Apple TV 1st Gen WiFi via Belkin Range Extender. Phones, all iPads have a good wifi connection in the House. Have tried turning off everything but iMac and Apple TV. Makes no difference. ITunes music works very well.

Range Extenders do not work very well with the Apple TV, which requires a high bandwidth.

Is the nighthawk R7000 supportt that he uses DST the R7300 Extender?

If this is not the case, what would be the most compatible of the range Extenders Netgear which is still an inexpensive option?

    Hello Ne1Scott

This extender is specfic to the R7300, but none of the other extenders Netgear will work very well with the R7000.

  • OfficeJet 4620: printer keeps going offline

OfficeJet 4620 - printer keeps going offline.  If I turn it on and turn it on, it's online for a while, but it disconnects again.  My IPad can't print on it. My Windows laptop, 10 shows as offline.  I can open his web page by entering the IP address in a browser and can ping it, but it also shows offline.  It is very annoying to have to reset the printer whenever I want to print to it wireless.  Is this to say that the wireless antenna is going wrong?  Should I buy a new printer?

I found what caused my problem when troubleshooting the installation of a new printer. I have 2 range Extenders. They had the same ssid as my router. One of the reports of tests of the new printer had a warning about it. I changed the range extenders in order to have all 3 different SSID. Now when the ipad & printer are that both connected using the ssid for the range extender in the room with the printer, there is no problem of ipad impression. My old printer is fine.

Hi, rondegenaro. Because you cannot use the EA6300 as a wireless Repeater, you can consult the list of Linksys wireless range of this link Extenders, http://www.linksys.com/ph/range-extenders/c/wireless-wi-fi-range-extenders/
