  Hey guys, I just bought this router one last week and it worked perfectly for one day, and then all of a sudden this whole week, ALTEAST 3 times a day, the router would drop the internet connection for my laptop AND desktop that is connected to the router.

  I have on my desktop and laptop Network Magic, and when this produces a pop up saying "Disconnected from the Local network", and then I could watch my router and see that the power LED flashes and it then reconnects me to the internet, this product at least 3 times a day.  It's a problem very annoying and frustrating, especially when the games.  It almost seems that the router is given randomly.

  Well I suggest you to update / re-flashing the firmware on your router. When you upgrade your router, it will surely solve your problem. Once you upgrade the firmware of your router, you must reset your router and reconfigure all the settings in this topic from scratch.

  IM new to this forum and linksys, Ive had programs with my new router (wrt160n) it came with a USB by linksys also.

  My problem is that half that none of my three computers or the games unit will connect wirelessy random strange one of them are soon as u put connection under load IE browse web, speedtests (using different sites) on speed tests it ping ok then run tesat download to 0.33megabits then gos slow down to the point u got is no longer usable connection , the router is down on web interface also.this is tested on all connections to all the same pc both with own usb or wireless provided.but soon I use cable (cat5e) on each pc, I get connection speed test full speed, games, email, web site surfing.i phone shop I received the package of they telling me without any question , requesting that the defective unit .

  can someone point me in the right direction 3-5 days without a router be pain in the ass.

  To reset your router you have to press on and hold the reset button on the back of the router for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the router power cable, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the cable power., now, you must make some changes on your router if you configure your router settings...

  On your router configuration page, change the size of AUTOMATIC MTU to manual and change the size of 1500 to 1350 and click on save settings...

  Now click on the tab 'Wireless' and below to change the settings as I mentioned in my previous post. Now, you can try to connect to your wireless network.

  I wired two PCs to the router working very well (even if the performance has been hectic lately).  The last 4 days, however, when I try to connect wirelessly I get connections that are interrupted several times.  I'm in the settings section of my iPad 2 and it keeps quickly switch between 'connected' and 'not connected '.  Firmware is up to date.

  I have not changed the settings on the router that I remember.  Help, please.  Thank you!

  The settings that you have probably changed are PC MAC address cloning if you have a cable modem, modes of security and secret sentences, DNS servers if you do not use the DNS servers of your ISP, and there are a lot of port forwarding settings, parental controls and so on.  Just browse your settings using the web GUI (http://192.168.1.1), and refresh your memory on what you changed.

  Since I'm sort of a belt and Suspenders guy, I want to get my arms around what I changed as well as the creation of the configuration backup file mentioned by Saber-toothed.  So if something unexpected happens, I have an idea what could be the source.

  I'm new to routers and I just added a router WRT160N (V2).  Wireless through my laptop is great. However, I have 1 PC connected physically to the router. The internet connection is sporadic on this PC. I have "wireless" internet service high speed and sometimes you click internet or check your emails, and there is no internet connection.   There is a known problem with intermittent connectivity and firmware to build 11 for the WRT160N V2. 11 is the current firmware on the Linksys site. Check if you have 11 build if your router is a V2.
  Downgraded to build 8 fits usually correct these deficiencies, but Linksys told several people that they do not have firmware version 8 to give end users.

  It's ONLY for the WRT160N V2 router. This firmware will not work on WRT160N V1.

• Everything works in "cascade", except that I can't access downstream WRT160N

  I have a BEFSX41 router as my main router.  A WRT160N V3 is cascade downstream to the LAN port LAN port.  That's all works very well with one exception.  I can't access the WRT160N configuration pages. I think that * its IP address is 192.168.1.2.  My browser (Internet Explorer and Firefox) unable to connect via HTTP.  I can access the BEFSX41 to 192.168.1.1 with any machine on my network.  I can't connect to the WRT160N with any machine. I can't connect even with a PC connected directly to one of its LAN ports and nothing else plugged.  A PC connected to the WRT160N (wired or wireless) connects to the Internet very well when the system hangs.

  DHCP is enabled on the BEFSX41, I think it is disabled on the WRT160N, but do not have access to its configuration pages I can't say for sure.  I tried reset soft by feeding the router market and stop - no help.  I have tried a hard reset that I fear that I lost all my settings and will not be able to recover.  When the system was put in place two years ago, it took several calls to Linksys tech support to get it going.

  * I think this is 192.168.1.2, because the security plan for the network of Norton Security Suite reports it as that.  My sketchy handwritten notes 2 years ago also say 192.168.1.2 in a certain place but 192.168.2,1 in others.  In any case, all the above aplies if I try... 2.1 instead of 1.2 when trying to access the web page of WRT160N.

  I think that there is no option on the Linksys router configuration page to change the user name of the router. You can change the password of the router using the web interface of the router.

  I have this laptop from HP Pavilion M6 1009tx. Since I bought it 3 years ago, I was faced with the question of the laptop will not connect to my WiFi automatically when I turn it on. It happens that 7 of the 10 times I would say. Sometimes it connects all rite away but above all he does not connect even if I try to connect to the available network manually.

  I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook m6-1009tx and falling wireless signal. I would change the channel on the router. Routers are able to communicate to your laptop on several different channels, and sometimes it helps.

  You could disable IPv6 for the laptop. Some say this helps. Restart the computer after trying this.

• Problems with nine LaserJet 1102w

  I've had my LaserJet 1102w for two days now, and I'm so far regretting buying and considering it return.  Here's why:

  1. it turns off automatically after 10 minutes and do not print after that until someone manually pushed the power button.

  2. when it is turned on, it will display only the first inch of a given page (Config test included integrated page), then it is the orange light flashes.  If you stop and then turn it on again, try again, and then turn market a SECOND time, it will print normally.

  3. it consisitantly fails to print "big" files (I quote because he isn't that great... i.e. a 32 MB PDF)-they gets stuck and require a complete restart of the printer.

  Is the only issue that I don't see to have fall wireless... which is good because we have not ALL wired devices in our House (which is why I bought this printer... most of the devices are iOS, but I'm working on Win7 laptop at the moment).

  I would love some advice or help get this printer to work.

  This looks like a problem with the mode 'sleep' on the printer.  There are a few things you can do to try and fix this problem.  First of all, make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet.  If you plug it into a surge arrester, power strip, or rescued food, it can prevent the printer to get enough power.  If this is correct, then proceed to try the steps in the document following the link.  If nothing works, contact HP to see on a replacement printer, or return the printer to where you bought it, be it, you need to replace the printer.

  Thanks for the responses, but they do not help me.  My problem was a network problem.  It turned out that the driver for the CARD was causing delays.  The problem was Dell didn't deliver a pilot updated but I found the Microsoft Update driver, installed and solved my problem.

  The real issue here is that these error messages are not documented by Microsoft.  Unless you want to get your credit card out and hundreds of dollars to the fork, they won't hear from me (I don't think I'm different than someone else).  This problem could be my laptop hardware, my hardware router, my device of NAS storage or software in any associated device.  I had a feeling, it was a network problem and start the troubleshooting of this area.  I noticed errors and delays.  Then, it was a process of divide and conquer.

  So does anyone have any ideas where Microsoft stores all these secret error codes?  It would have saved me fervent hours troubleshooting a simple issue.
