Install windows 7 on Raid 0

Hello

I decided to create 3 3 - ssd raid 0 and use it as my only drive. I managed to configure raid in BIOS and RAID Manager, so everything should be set.

However when I boot and try to install windows 7 on a disk I have problems.

1. it does not list my RAID as a disk available to install on.

2. when it asks for drivers he will accept nothing out of the disc of Windows 7.

So! Do I need a second disk/usb with the top drivers recognize my RAID? If so what drivers?

Data sheet:

mobo: Crosshair V Formula-Z
CPU: AMD Black Edition 8-core 8350 Vichera
GPU: Sapphire R9 280 X double-x
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB DDr3
Storage: Mushkin Enhanced ECO ^ 2 240 GB * 3 in RAID 0
OS: Windows 7 Premium

I would like to know if anyone has need for more information.

Oh boy...

You must provide the Setup mass storage drivers, you can use a CD or a USB key for it, you see this is the first phase of installation, the disk selection step, click "Load Drivers.

  • A general question on installing Windows 7 and RAID configuration

I have an OEM Windows XP machine. His HD system consists of two physical disks connected during a RAID 0 configuration. The RAID has been initially configured in the BIOS (and maybe an extra chip), and then there are the drivers included in the installer of the OS.

My question is: if I install Windows 7 from scratch on this machine (i.e. not updated from XP) the installation process would allow me to configure the RAID? Has its own generic drivers for RAID configurations?

    Hello

I intend to install a Windows Server 2012 on a TS140 using RAID 1 configuration.

As I read in the manuals, the RAID is most often used with the CSM (compatibility Support Module), but as Windows 2012 supports UEFI, it could be used with the drivers.

    What is the recommended configurarion?

In addition to the installation of the driver are the drawbacks in any configuration?

  • Install windows on mac pro (early 2008) in other SSDS with RAID card

Guys, good evening to all the same time.

I get out of this crazy short, I ask humbly help.

    I explain my problem:

I have a Mac Pro (early 2008), with RAID CARD MEDIA

He does not then I "gave" to my mother who must use windows for work.

I'm out all 4 disks in RAID installed and mounted 2 - SSD OCZ Agility 256 GB.

one of them is installed OSX Yosemite. on the other hand, I want to install WINDOWS.

    and here the problems begin:

When I insert the win8.1 to proceed installation standard dvd (EFI not talked since the beginning of 2008), I get, when I have to decide on which disk to install and format windows, does not reveal the installed drives

After 2 days of tweaking, I was able to understand that this is a problem due to the RAID card installed, I also read that you just remove it and connect the SSD in one of the two doors empty ODDsata (and not in the 4 planned the raid card slots)

but still does not see the attached HDD / SSD, so keep trying and I think it's a driver problem and I need to install the AHCI driver, now, I'm pretty Nerd, but I still can't get.

Someone could want explain step by step what I need to do to install this * win on MacPro 8.1 designed for RAID card?

Thank you so much in advance.

  • Cannot install Windows 7 ultimate on hardware RAID

I have three 1 to HARD sata drive, in the card mother Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H. I did HDD1 as no raid and two others as mirror leads to the BIOS level using control RAID Utility. But when I try to install Windows 7, in the last step of the installation, I got a message saying that Windows cannot continue. Anyboday have suggestions.

Disconnect the two additional disks, insert the cd of Win, if it finds all remove them all partitions, and then continue the installation (I assumed that the installation correctly identifies the size of the disk)

PS You are aware of the limits of the raid provided by the controller of the motherboard?

Mirror raid is not an alternative to a backup

RAID, provided by the controller of the motherboard is not hardware raid, in the true sense. Hardware RAID is available from a dedicated third-party hardware card.

  • Install Windows 7 on HP DV7 7373ca Envy

    Hello:

I can't find any casual info.

In any event, nobody has detailed how they came to W7 to install, they ask just for W7 drivers.

See if this article of the millisecond is of no help to you.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2466753

I had the problem when I first installed the W8 Release Preview and I wanted to get back to Windows 7 on my HP Elite 8200 desktop computer.

What I ended up doing is booting from a Windows XP installation disk, delete the partition, the quick format the partition and load Windows XP.

Then I loaded W7 without any problem at all.

For installing XP on your PC, however, you should know what SATA AHCI or RAID driver must be installed on the line F6 or "slipstreaming" pilots.

I don't know if the BIOS of your PC's speed controller set to RAID or AHCI.

In the device, under the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers section Manager, if the BIOS is set to AHCI, you will see an Intel 7 series family chipset AHCI controller installed.

If it is set to RAID, then you will see a lisitng of storage controllers in Device Manager and you will see a controller RAID SATA Intel that are listed there.

  • How can I add a previously installed windows on my mac pro installation

Hi guys, everything becomes to collect my newly bought mac pro 3.1 (used). I'm moving PC, but how do I add my existing installation of windows on my mac? The mac pro is 3.1 and has 2 x 500 GB disks in a raid 1 TB configuration. It's just a matter of plugging my windows disk (I'm guessing No.) or is it a bit more complex than that? Any help or advice will be appreciated and hope to give back as much help as I get that I'm learning. Thank you

You can install Windows on a Mac computer using Boot Camp Assistant or by using a Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox virtual machine natively. Refer to the instructions of Boot Camp located here: http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/. OT If using a virtual machine see the instructions located on the Parallels, Fusion or VirtualBox sites.

In both cases you can not use a PC already existing installation of Windows. You need to reinstall Windows on your Mac.

  • Desktop HP Pavilion p6310y: need standalone Serial ATA Drivers to install Windows Vista on Pavilion p6310y

I bought your desktop Pavilion p6310y on eBay, and I really like it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on it without problem. For the purposes of running the software (in particular, Microsoft Virtual PC 2007), I also want to install Windows Vista Ultimate on it, on another partition.

I was under the impression that Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - Bit was originally installed the operating system when this system was released, however, when I start the installation support Windows Vista (which I created from a downloaded ISO), it requires additional drivers (no doubt, Serial ATA drivers) before instalatio, also no hard drives appear in the drive list. Anyone know where I can get these independent Serial ATA driver files? The controller is a NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA controller. I do not have the recovery of original installation disks and don't think that it would be possible to get to this point, this system is no longer supported by HP.

Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

    Mark W. Stroberg

    Hi, Mark:

I compressed upwards and tied the driver for the sata raid controller, you require to the nvidia chipset, that your PC has below.

The best way to install the driver is as follows...

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without any folder.

With the flash player and the support of Vista installation in the machine, boot from the Vista installation media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts and I hope that Vista will install.

    Hello here is my problem,

I bought an older Portegre M400 E, without a HARD drive. So I buy a new Samsung 400 GB. I looked in the Bios (ACPI BIOS Version 3.40) and it is ok. He shows me the HARD drive with built in Assign LD - 0 status ONLINE, 400 GB size so it seems to be nice. Changed the matrix Raid, described in the manual, in condition to create 1Raid-0

Windows open to the top and after a short period, the installation ends with the message that it is not any HARD drive. This I try sometimes :-( Hope someone can help me.

I don't know much about your model, but I think that something wrong with the raid in the Bios settings. What other options are available in the Bios for the State of the hard drive? I found the RAID driver on the Toshiba driver page. It is possible, that you can integrate in with a program called nlite Windows installation disc or install Windows as in compatibility mode, and install the Raid driver. then

    Could someone help me please?

    Thank you very much!

    Petr Varadinov (CZE)

You n t need the SATA drivers but the RAID drivers!
The Portege M400 PPM40E supports RAID functionality and you must install the RAID drivers first, before you continue the installation of XP!

The RAID drivers might be installed from external FDD USB drive connected. The Vista operating system allows the installation of the USB!

The RAID drivers must be published on the page of Toshiba. To take it!

  • Toshiba Tecra S3 - new SSD stuck on JBOD, cannot install windows on it

I just got myself a Kingston V series 64 GB SSD drive, but I can't it is detected by windows installation programs.
After looking around, I found that the Tecra S3 drives must be "1RAID 0" and not JBOD to activate windows to
be installed on it. (unless you use the recovery CD, which I did not right now, even if I wanted to use it)

I also found the "collar" necessary to get the BIOS to change when you get to 'run the creation '.
    is 1,2,3,4, [Enter].

But here's the catch: + BIOS does not account for the string... +.
I type the string, 1234, [Enter], and it cancels my desired, change as if I said NO and set it to JBOD.
(if I don't type the string on the right, it comes out, but stays 1raid0 and "run the creation" is still there)
I tried on one of my other drives and it worked fine, but for some reason this drive seems not wanting me to.

I tried the USB drive (works fine) and the BIOS sees it for what it is, so that the drive works well (from my tests)

Would be really appreciated any ideas on what to do now, I'm out of ideas on what I did not properly

    Hello

    > I just got myself a Kingston V series 64 GB SSD drive, but I can't it is detected by windows installers

Have you included the RAID driver in Windows before you tried to reinstall the OS?
On the European driver Toshiba page, you can find the RAID driver to be included when installing Windows installation.

    Regarding the change in BIOS RAID;
I m not very good, but it might be possible that you cannot change the reason the SSD RAID option.
If other drives are working properly and that the RAID may be changed using a common HARD disk the problem is related to the new SSD drive.

Maybe you need to update the firmware on the SSD drive to check it out.
