WRT300n: disable 802. 11B wireless

Is it possible administratively disable 802. 11 b radio on WRT300N?

The reason is to not let the 802. 11B client to connect to my router, while 802.11 g and 802.11n clients should get access to the network.

You cannot disable just 802. 11B wireless... When you open the set up page of the router and click Wireless see the Mode of network... You can disable all or when set mixed it will allow all... When you select Wireless-N only it will disable B Wireless G and wireless together... Even when you select Wireless G only (it allows to disable both B and Wireless N Wireless)... This means that you can have two disabled modes but not one alone...

  • Problems of internet connectivity with Dell Inspiron 7520 (1703 of Dell Wireless 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz)

    Hello

I bought a Dell Inspiron 7520 for a week now, and I had a strange problem with internet connectivity since then. First, wifi takes a lot of time to connect. After, I'm online, every 10 minutes my network access stops working completely. But if I click on the network icon in the toolbar, it starts working again, but it stops in the next 10 minutes, once again, and so on. If I try to fix connectivity problems, he always find and solve some in the network card or wireless, but then point again, after 10 minutes, or so, it happens again.

My network card is a Wireless Dell 1703 802.11b/g/n 2.4 ghz and I tried to update and to re - download the firmware, but nothing seems to fix.

What should I do to fix this?

Hello friends. Recently I came across the same problem identified by many with a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop 7520 with the Dell Wireless 1703 (Atheros chipset). After losing an entire afternoon and looking at forums and their complaints, I think that I found the solution to the problem (at least, here is running).

The laptop is connected to a router TP-Link TL-WR740N. The router is configured to run with a frequency of 20 or 40 MHz, making the switch automatically in the factory. The mobile card wireless driver is configured to work only with 20 MHz at the factory. But can be configured to work with two frequencies is adapted automatically. To do this, change the configuration (in Windows 7):

Start > Control Panel > Device Manager > network adapters > Dell Wireless 1703 802.11b/g/n (2,4 GHz) > click the Advanced tab > select 802.11n bandwidth. Change the value of Auto 20 MHz / 40 MHz.

Press OK and wait for to reconnect you.

    I hope this helps.

  • Pavilion 1009TX M6: Broadcom 4313GN 1 x 1 adapter Wi - Fi 802.11b/g/n cannot connect to Wi - Fi

    Hi all

I have this laptop from HP Pavilion M6 1009tx. Since I bought it 3 years ago, I was faced with the question of the laptop will not connect to my WiFi automatically when I turn it on. It happens that 7 of the 10 times I would say. Sometimes it connects all rite away but above all he does not connect even if I try to connect to the available network manually.

I then try to reboot several times as well as to try to connect to the WiFi manually, if I'm lucky it will connect, otherwise I have to keep restarting. The adapter doesnot connect even when I disable and enable (Broadcom 4313GN 1 x 1 adapter Wi - Fi 802.11b/g/n).

In the year of punch he used to connect whenever I plugged it manually, but now I try several times for sure.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi @NSIDHU ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion Notebook m6-1009tx and falling wireless signal. I would change the channel on the router. Routers are able to communicate to your laptop on several different channels, and sometimes it helps.

You could disable IPv6 for the laptop. Some say this helps. Restart the computer after trying this.

  • Drivers Ralink (Mediatek (1 x 1) 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 Combo) is not stable on Win8

TL; Dr. download from the support center, the Ralink (Meadiatek) drivers won't install on HP ProBook 450 G1

Hello, recently the company I work for bought a HP ProBook 450 G1 (i5 - 4200 m, 8 GB, 750 GB, amd map with the 1 GB version) and I have to put in place. They have also bought Windows 8. So I installed windows 8 on the computer, but when I go to network, thereš adapters only bluetooth and wired connection. So I downloaded the Ralink 802.11 b/g/n Wireless LAN Adapter Driver here and when I try to install it, the installation program opens a second and then closes down, at first I thought that maybe the installation is in the background, but it wasn't the case. Then I tried to download Mediatek 802.11b/g/n (1 x 1) and drivers Bluetooth 4.0 Combo of the net here, they have installed and appear in programs and features, but the WiFi adapter is not on the menu of adapters. not it does appear in Device Manager. No driver disk is also don't come with the purchase.

Can someone help me please? The only way to connect the PC to the internet is to use the WiFi now.

Well this was deceptive. Everywhere where I was watching on the internet, he said that HP Probook 450 G1 has a Mediatek 802.11b/g/n card, but it turns out when I checked the BIOS it says that this laptop has an Atheros WiFi card, so I downloaded the driver on their part and now the wifi works.

  • Qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapter problem

Hi, if I can connect to the internet, but after a bit, I'm disconnected from the network. When I have the Troubleshoot, it indicates that there is a problem with my card. It is not a problem with my network as all other devices work correctly.

I use Windows 8; my laptop is a Pavilion dv6 - 3284ca; my wifi adapter is qualcomm, atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n wifi adapt

Let me know if you need more information.

You can try a USB wireless adapter. If it works, which will restrict the cause root. If it doesn't, it will restrict the issue to a conclusion. There is not a lot of troubleshooting on the left that you don't want to, so I think that an adapter is a good idea.

I had a similar problem with this network adapter. I could see the networks, the signal strength was excellent, but whenever I tried to connect, it failed. Several times he connected successfully, but the connection lost after a few minutes. In any case, I managed to fix after spending several hours playing with the options on the Advanced page of the driver. That's what I have now:

802.11n preamble: Mixed Mode (this is a must if you are networked mixed g/n)

Afterburner: disabled (not sure about that)

AP compatibility mode: superior performance (I have a router standards)

BT - AMP: disabled (not sure about that)

Mixed cell support: disabled (this is not necessary for typical wifi networks)

Technology XPress (TM): disabled (not sure, that's something for the performance of g)

Other options are default values. I use a pilot boarded through Windows Update.
