WRT54G Router must be the default factory restore to work

Hello

I have a router WRT54G 3 version it works fine but suddenly stops working. When this happens, I don't have access to the internet or on the pc connected directly to the router or the wireless-connected devices

I tried to powercycle the moden router and releasing and renewing DHCP and it does not work yet.

The solution I found is to restore default settings and reconfigure all the settings wireless again.

If someone knows why this happens, if there is a better solution would be great.

Thanks to all in advance

Might be time for a new router. Ive had a couple of neighbors with these old routers and they seem to be 'exhausted '. Firmware flashing does not seem to help and not sure it's even now available since its so old. If you go with another, not to buy. If you do not need to be able to load 3 party firmware so don't spend a fortune for one who is capable of it. If this wrt54g was enough then look who has tapes times 2.4 and 5 ghz, but in price about $50 dollars range should be good. Good luck

I experienced some problems with windows so I thought to use the system to dell factory restore.

You should always back up data.

Dell, ask questions about their recovery process.
Their recovery process will be how you bought, with two only the main road and the recovery partition; but not your data partition

  • Restore the default settings doesn't work is not because of the sweetpack.

Somehow, a toolbar called sweetpack was installed on firefox. I tried to remove the addon via the windows uninstaller, but it still appears in the addon of firefox even handler after restarting windows. the addon is blocked on firefox, but there is no way to turn it off. • Totally to the U410 - the default factory reset format?

Thing, is that I bought this IdeaPad U410 about two months and less than a month has just decided to format and install Ubuntu, because I didn't like Windows 8. But, as I should be, since that day my life has become a hell of bugs and incompatibility issues. I just could not afford it and decided to returned to the Microsoft Team.

I had all my Lenovo and WinRecovery partitions intact. Then, I tried these always

-Use the key to recovery, to restart the plant; somehow, his right boot Ubuntu.

-Use my flash driver with the system recovery of Windows 8, but he says it's "impossible to reset your PC. A partition of required driver is missing. "

In a desperate approach I followed a few steps to eightforums and by using diskpart I completely erased my HD (after make a backup of the Lenovo and WinRecovery partitions) - and... It did not work. Now, I am lying here with a computer without operating system or data.

Yes, I'm a genius. Have I not hope to solve it (recovery of factory default) or better start to use the laptop as the most expensive paper weight ever?

    Hello

Well, before you do that I realized that I had nothing to lose and wipe all my hard drivers (the SSD and HARD drive) using the command prompt of Windows 8 recovery system via USB. I still couldn't install W8, but later I tryied Ubuntu 12.10 and now it has worked flawlessly.

I do not recommend this because I don't know if in the future this can be a real headache for me, but now, it is perfect and, in addition to the installation of the graphics card, I have no problem.

In any case, thanks Pascal, I'll keep your suggestion and if necessary I'll contact lenovo support.

  • Update Windows to the default factory System Image

    I have a Dell Inspiron N5030 with Windows 7 x 64.

Hypothetically, if I were to use my Dell restore utility (apparently located on another partition of the disc) to reset the computer and start Windows 7 from scratch back, I want to know honestly how many hours should I anticipate spending on updating Windows alone? I've been around for all the problems with Windows Update, stuck in the past, but also the fix that was recently introduced. So I recognize that it will take some time to update all the way from the factory to the current image. When you go about it, I should just install updates that Windows Update tells me where y at - it a shortcut or trick I should know about an update which could function as a rollup or something?

  • Re-create the default factory system image...

    Hello

My company has HP computer we get from our suppliers. It is labelled "Windows 7"on the box." PC currently has Windows XP operating system. We believe that the seller bought this computer under Win 7 and then he downgraded to XP in order to put their application.

Now, we no longer need to XP and want to have Windows 7.

I guess that this PC may affect Windows 7 hidden partition somewhere and I would restore this image.

My question: How can I find this partition and replace the current XP with Windows 7?

    Thank you

None of these disks you have are bootable.

Only the first (disc 1 of 3) or bootable, and then you insert the other disks when you are prompted to do so.

To boot from a disk, you press the F9 key (or the escape key if it is a newer model) at the beginning of the HP welcome screen.

Then, you select the DVD drive in the menu and press the Enter key.

But that won't work with any of the disks you have are not bootable.

  • Return to the default (factory) setting for a zip (compressed) file

Involuntarily, I changed the setting to opening a compressed folder (zip), and now all of my compressed folders display the logo of the program windows Word. I'm trying to undo that and not any program used to open a compressed file. I want to have all other files compressed in the computer returns to its initial position, too, as they have all changed. Any help, I can't get there. I went in the extensions folder and found the zip extension and it shows that the Word window will open all zip files. The only choices that I seem to have is nothing that I want, I am not having any specific program open a zip file. Thank you

  • A .dll must be the basis for ThinApped app work

    Hi all

I have this app that apparently depends on the dll VB RunTime 5 "MSVBVM50.dll". Even if the dll is captured during the installation of the application and made part of the project, the resulting virtual app refuses to perform, unless this dll is also copied to the base.

I noticed that the virtual app wouldn't run on a clean system, but he would go on the system that was used to capture the installation (and has all the relevant files in the base). After that, I was able to identify the problem now a dll.

Although it is easy enough to put the dll in the base, or write a script that copies the dll in the runtime database, it is more important for me to know what is happening. Why is not able to use this .dll ThinApp virtual instance. It is part of the project in the directory % SystemSystem % and is included in the compilation. Why it must the virtual application in the basis as well?

A possible explanation is that the application has something made by another process which is part of the base. This process would need the dll in the base, as he cannot see the virtual file system. Is there a way to check this?

Anyone seen this before? Any suggestion is welcome!

    Thank you

    Vincent

    Hi Vincent,.

I've seen this several times, quite often when the virtual application communicates with another process or service via COM or something like that, I even saw an application running a sort of "runas" and it communicates with a process if running outside the virtual bubble, for example, for example to open a virtual cmd, run "runas... cmd.exe" and you're outside the bubble.

Unfortunately most of the time is not solveable.

You can try to open the Task Manager and have a look at processes busy/new processes and open Log-Monitor. There should be a busy missing in logmonitor process that is active/new in taskmanager.

An another workaround might put VB 5 DURATION in your image database as the application will search for the dll in windows\ystem32, which is only a workaround and of course not a real solution to satisfy.

    Hope this helps to understand.

    Stephan

  • Could not save the WRT54G Router settings!

Recently, I have reset the Linksys WRT54G Router because I can't get the page with a note to "CONTINUE", I used to have. I can also save the new setting. What comes out is a blank page. Pls help me. Thank you.

This problem is usually caused by suboptimal communication between the computer and the router. The most common cause for this is a computer software firewall problem, but there are also several other possible causes:

To view web pages of the router (and to solve problems "Cannot save settings"):

You don't need an Internet connection. 'web Pages' of the router are integrated into the router.
Use Internet Explorer, it usually works.
    JavaScript must be enabled.
Use a computer that is connected to the router.
In the non-working computer, temporarily disable your firewall software.

Point your browser to 192.168.1.1, and then connect to your router. Your username must be left blank. Your password is "admin" (without the quotes), unless you changed it.

If you use Zone Alarm, do a right-click on the ZA icon in the taskbar (bottom right of screen) then click on "Shutdown ZoneAlarm" and see if that solves your problem. If this does not work, try the following with Zone Alarm: open the control center ZAISS, go to privacy, then temporarily disable Ad Blocking and Cookie Control and see if it solves your problem.

Some Zone Alarm users reported that the addition of 192.168.1.1 to their address list "of trust" solved the problem. This trick can also work with other firewalls.

If you use Noton Internet Security with the add-on Pack, don't forget to disable the blocker and ad blocker. Some users have reported that they needed to uninstall all Norton Add-on Pack.

If you can not get anything to 192.168.1.1 then perhaps this is not the address of the router. Go to 'Start' > all programs > Accessories > command prompt.
A black DOS window will appear. Type "ipconfig" (with no quotes), and press the Enter key. Look at the "default gateway". It is 192.168.1.1? Point your browser to the 'default gateway', can connect you to your router.

If the above fails, unplug your modem router, then try again. If it solves your problem, then you probably a "modem-router" rather than a regular modem. A report with this problem and also specify the brand and exact model of your modem (not router) number.

If all above fails them, turn off your entire system, unplug it from the wall, wait a minute, then lights up, then try again.

If all the above tips fail, then reset the default router: power down the router and unplug all the wires. Wait a minute. Switch on the router, let it fully boot (1-2 minutes), then press and hold the reset for 30 seconds button, then release the button and allow the router to reset and restart (2-3 minutes). Turn off the router. Wait a minute. To connect to a computer, cable, a router's LAN port. Initialize the system. It should work.

If you still have problems, then you must download and install (or reinstall) the latest firmware for your router. After the update of the firmware, you must reset the default router, and then configure the router again from scratch. If you have saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
