WTR320N still slow after upgrade

Today, I upgraded my LAN 10/100mbps to 100/1000 Mbps Wireless LAN using the Linksys WTR320N with. The initial tests took place without problems. The small local network set up with 2 laptops, router and modem worked well and I plugged in the other systems.

During the test, the speed of the internet was as before, instantaneous loading of most of the pages (Facebook, Youtube, etc.) and reaches the maximum capable speed, which is 23MBps with a low ping about 30.

Now, with the entire network, the internetspeed is not top 20MBps more, it sticks to 15-17, which is a loss of 6 Mbps on my connection. After checking on various topics on other forums, I upgraded the firmware of 1.0.0.3 for 1.0.0.4. Who gave a small improvement, but I can't yet reach my speed max, neither a decent ping and pageload time.

I'm a cable internet provider that requires no password/username to log, so it is a permanent connection. MTU is 1500, and because I don't know what it is (I've seen the expression and change it to 1300/1350. a few times looking for a solution).

No idea how I can speed up the loadtimes and the internetspeed?

[EDIT] problems are both on cable in Wi - Fi. The signal strength of the wireless is maximum and never given wired connections problems before.

Change the MTU to 1365.

You have already updated the Firmware of the router.

After upgrading the firmware on the router, it is recommended that you must reset the router and reconfigure the router.

Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset and wait for 10 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure the router.

  • Why a sql statement has become slow after upgrade to 11g database

    Hello

My previous version of the database is 9I and any sql statement are well-developed.
but after upgrading to 11g database, a sql statement become slowly.

My senior dba friend told me there are a few different calculating methods from 9i to 11g.
is any body can explain this different methods from 9i to 11g, and what should be attention to calculate at what level 9i to 11g. I thank.

    Sean

The administrator of yours is correct. What he meant, 9i, the works of the optimizer with different formulas and 11 g, there are different formulas. PS this sometimes causes when you upgrade from 9i (or even 10g too), analyze the queries that worked with RBO in 9i perfectly and used indexes, all of a sudden they stop using it because the CBO think not that this is a good choice. It would be too difficult to put formulas here by anyone, but what I can say is that to buy a book.

  • Time Machine extremely slow after upgrade to El Cap

Time Machine problem with upgrade to Yosemite to El Cap on a laptop MBPr 15 "mid-2012.

Time Machine backup plan: by wifi or LAN cable for two different hard disks attached to a Mac Mini that is on the local network. Two USB mini drives would serve as a backup for a total of 4 Mac disks at home.

Behavior of Time Machine in Yosemite: dead normal. Backups were fast (10 Mbit/s in wifi, 80 MB/s when I plugged the MBPr on my LAN using a bolt of lightning for the Ethernet card.) Restored backups (I test them sometimes) fine.

I upgraded yesterday to El Capitan. Behavior of the time Machine now: excruciatingly slow. All the steps (preparation, backup, cleanup) takes hours. My laptop was connected to the wired LAN for 9 hours now and is only 1.26 GB thanks to a backup of 3.82 GB. Speed (from MenuMeters) is under 10 KB/sec - Yes, it is * kilogram * bytes/s.

Speed of transfer of files between the two machines via drag & drop is very good, ~80MB/sec both on the LAN, about 12 MB/s in wifi. Laptop computer interacts with the web at normal speeds. It does not appear that Time Machine, which is watered, and only on my laptop of Capitaned newly-El. My other domestic machines (all on Yosemite still) back up normally.

    I tried:

    -power / reboot both machines.

-power / restart the LAN together.

-cycle Time Machine power switch in the Prefs system.

    -Remove the two drives as backup targets TM laptop, then re - specify with preferences TM;

-other things that I found through the search for this problem.

It is a common problem in judging by the many valuation model who met it. I searched a lot and found nothing that helped me.

I can't work without a viable backup. For now, I use Carbon Copy Cloner to duplicate my SSD MBPr for an external hard drive. Not really satisfying.

Did someone solved this problem? Can someone tell me or suggest a solution? Thank you very much!

  • Why is my iphone 6 so slow after upgrade to ios 9.3.4?

After that upgrade my iphone to ios 9.3.4 6 became incredibly slow and can barely connect to applications such as safari and youtube. I have tried several methods to resolve this problem, like resetting network settings, reconnect to wifi, reboot the phone and same reseting all settings. Reseting my settings also seems to fix the problem for about 10-20 minutes before returning to be very slow. I was hoping someone knew a hand permanently fix this problem is incredibly annoying.

    Thank you

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

  • Satellite L550: Civilization 3 game run slow after upgrade to Win 7

My laptop came with Vista pre-installed, and I ordered the "free" Windows 7 upgrade.

I play a game called civilization 3, which I installed with Vista and it worked fine.
Now I have upgraded Vista to Windows 7 and the game still works fine, but the graphics have slowed down considerably.

My system has the ATI mobility Radeon HD 4650 videocard and I already checked if there was a new driver.

    Can anyone helpme here?

    Thanx.

    Hello

As far as I know, you can find the latest graphics card driver on the European driver Toshiba page. It s the most recent which is available for this model of laptop and the graphics card.

But to be honest, the 3 civilizations is not a powerful game that would need a strong graphics card and so I doubt that this could be a graphics card problem.

What version of Windows 7 you are using? Is it a 64 bit version?
Maybe civilization 3 is not fully tested and compatible with Win 7.

Hello. I hope someone can help me.

I upgraded my X 300 14U to Windows 7 32 bit without too much problem. But the game is terrible. I play Battlefield 2 on the spot (which should cope easily this laptop) but the graphics deterioriate after about 5 minutes of play. Then it crashes to the desktop. On average settings, it is much better but not perfect.

so I tried to update the graphics drivers and managed to get the new version 8.17.11.9716 of the drivers to install nvidia (not easy) but the gameplay is still the same.

    Anyone has any ideas please

  • complete network slow after upgrade to iOS 9.2

    Hello

obviuosly the update to iOS 9.2 decreases my network speed for all devices on the network. I tested the speed with public speed tests and answers have been slower than before the update (e.g. ping time before: 42ms; after: 1500 ms; even with downloads and uploads). If I turn off my iOS device, it is faster still.

Someone has the same effect? Or does anyone have advice what to do?

  • Internet slow after upgrade to 8.1

I upgraded the OS on my laptop dv-7-7240 HP Envy today from 8 to 8.1 Windows (64-bit), which included 11 Explorer. He went pretty much as expected and everything worked fine except my speed of web slowed to a crawl.    I have disabled all add-ons and reset the Explorer, but that did not help.  Note: I was living slow internet (I'm on cable, by the way) and some other questions that I could not resolved, the main reason I upgraded to 8.1. It resoloved all issues except for the slow internet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yes, the problem started then on Windows 8 and continued after the upgrade to Windows 8.1. However, I have since solved the problem, but I'm a little embarrassed to tell how.  After going around the world to try to solve this problem, the solution was right in front of me all the time... the stupid cable modem.  Finally, I noticed that the light on my modem (which is quite old, by the way), were flashes more quickly than they normally.  A call to technical support to my cable company confirmed that I probably have a defective modem. So, I installed a modem new, thinner, and now I am again crusing the net like a champ. The lesson: If your modem is more than five years, beware; they do not last forever. Lesson learned!

    Thank you!

  • XP Pro SP3 still slow after a month of following threads

I built a computer for my wife and he played wonderfully up until a month ago when she told me that she thought she had a virus because his PC is really slow. She was correct and I found and cleaned several threats to his machine. Even created a Kaspersky bootable cd and did a cleanup of that. I managed to get rid of all viruses detected at this stage. I ran full scans with Kaspersky, AVG, Norton 360, Spybot, Adaware, Webroot and Hitman Pro. All the latter reported no threat. Machine has always been very slow, so I started following discussions here. I used msconfig to take everything on commissioning. I have optimized, defragmented, and managed to get rid of unused programs. I've been following son and make all the suggestions I found for over a month and still crawling along. I used a timer to Boot XP to see how long it has taken for the computer to boot, and he returned with 770 seconds, or nearly 13 minutes. Consumers two great time according to the timer to start XP is the services.exe and svchost.exe two of these samples for 5 minutes. Ideas that have already been posted here? Thank you.

One thing that is often overlooked when startups/performance troubleshooting HARD drive Transfer Mode setting.  This applies only to IDE (not the SATA drives) drives.  If transfer Modes slipped DMA in PIO, you'll have a system "lame".

Since the implementation of the MS Answers forum does not prompt for the basic system information when a new question is asked (as the system brand and model), I can't tell if this applies to you or not if you can tell us that.  If you are not sure, we say the make and model and we can look it up.

AVG, Norton and Spybot are known hogs CPU and memory so if you have those installed and enabled that could be part of the problem, but if you have disabled the throughout the msconfig may be that it is not.  Installation of too many AV programs is not always a good thing.  It is possible to have too much protection on your system.

You use Bootlog XP to get these hours?  It is a good tool to find why your bootstrap system takes so long so that it starts.  A nice bar chart to show you that everything is being done and you focus on long horizontal lines in the table and work on these areas.

If he your system brand not specified and the model is using IDE drives, here's how to check your Transfer Mode settings:

If you are using IDE drives, use Device Manager to check the channel Transfer Mode IDE is set to something like DMA if available (depends on your hardware) and the slow PIO mode.

Don't forget: PIO is the slowest, DMA is faster.

It is easy to check and usually easy to fix and the mode would not have changed in itself, so if she changed to PIO, change it to DMA, and then understand why it changed and fix it.

To launch the Device Manager console, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    devmgmt.msc

    Click OK.

Expand the section controller IDE / ATA to see your IDE channels. Each of them right click and choose Properties for each channel that has a tab advanced settings, determine the Transfer Mode. There are usually 4 channels to check in a desktop computer, maybe less for laptops so just check all.

Faster selection will always be a kind of selection DMA (usually: DMA, DMA5, DMA if available, UDMA, etc.).  If it is PIO, change it to DMA.

If you are unsure of what you see after return of help and advice.

If you make settings, restart and check the settings again to ensure that all changes 'stick '.

What may have caused the change?

  • Usb3 slow after upgrade to win8

I ve just upgraded my Envy 15-3200 to win 8, and I noticed that my external hd usb3 is mutating very slow (20-30 MB/s).

I tried to look for a driver on the page driverdownload win8, but not luck. There is one for win7 so, but when I tried to install it, I got a messeage that it had compatibility problems.

    Any ideas?

Windows 8 has its own built in usb 3.0 drivers. This is why there is no usb 3.0 Windows 8 driver available for download. No need. We used to see something similar with Windows XP Service Pack 2. Previously, you had to load a supplement to usb 2.0 driver, and after that just let Windows control usb 2.0. Check in your device manager and see if you have the 'super speed' usb ports or listed Central. See also if the old usb 3.0 drivers got carried over as a program in the Add/Remove Programs list. If so, remove them. Then restart

    http://community.Spiceworks.com/how_to/show/19650-fixing-USB-3-0-ports-in-Windows-8

You may need to uninstall the usb ports and hubs as devices and restart just to give the opportunity to load its drivers Windows 8.

  • Ubuntu 11.04 very slow after upgrade to VMWare Workstation 8.0

    Hello

After the update to VMWare Workstation 8.0 my Ubuntu 11.04 comments system (which worked very well with Workstation 7) behaves very slow sometimes.

Slowly I want to say first that it is very laggy when I scroll conent inside windows, and also when I move windows.

And with sometimes I want to say that this is not always the case. Sometimes, everything works fine for 1 or 2 hours and she begins and, sometimes, that's the problem immediately after starting Ubuntu.

The problem occurs when restart Ubuntu does not help. But what is stopping Ubuntu and also restart VMWare Workstation on the host (in my case Windows 7) completely. When I do this and I'm lucky everything seems normal again for a while (1 or 2 hours). After that starts all over again.

VMWare Tools is installed and the comments system has more then enough resources. I also improved the virtuale image to the latest version so that the new features in Workstation 8.0 are available.

I first thought that maybe it's a RAM problem but the system begins to lag when there is still 1 GB + RAM available and 0.0% swap used.

Any ideas what I could do? This is quite annoying...

You can see the same bug that is described in this thread: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1840185#1840185
