XP Pro SP3 still slow after a month of following threads

I built a computer for my wife and he played wonderfully up until a month ago when she told me that she thought she had a virus because his PC is really slow. She was correct and I found and cleaned several threats to his machine. Even created a Kaspersky bootable cd and did a cleanup of that. I managed to get rid of all viruses detected at this stage. I ran full scans with Kaspersky, AVG, Norton 360, Spybot, Adaware, Webroot and Hitman Pro. All the latter reported no threat. Machine has always been very slow, so I started following discussions here. I used msconfig to take everything on commissioning. I have optimized, defragmented, and managed to get rid of unused programs. I've been following son and make all the suggestions I found for over a month and still crawling along. I used a timer to Boot XP to see how long it has taken for the computer to boot, and he returned with 770 seconds, or nearly 13 minutes. Still slow after Samsung SSD Pro 850

I recently installed Samsung SSD 850 pro on my mbp 2012. There is no significant difference in its speed before and after. Application of test of speed magic Black Watch reading and writing speeds both somewhere between 40 - 60 MB/s. If disappointing! I just upgraded my ram from 4 GB to 16 GB memory. I'm in the editing of videos and photos for youtube beating drones 4 k. Until I upgraded my ram it was slow when I started to edit my videos. mainly drone videos 4 k. Once I upgraded ram 16 GB that I have not seen much difference is there anything else I need to do? I did something wrong by upgrading ram 16 GB memory when it was not if? I have a macbook mid 2012 Pro OS x el Capito 2.5 ghz i5 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB 500 GB of storage and 465 GB free! don't you think it's my graphics card? If so what should I get or which would be a lot for me to do it myself and to sell or to have someone to do it where it would be cheap. Sorry 435 GB of storage is free. also what I mean by slow operation, is that when I downloaded my videos from my drone or everything that I could watch the video fine on no matter what glitching I guess you could say. but once I started editing my video in iMovie has added music and transitions all the good things that he has begun to slow and glitch.

WTR320N still slow after upgrade

Mid 2009 macbook pro running slow after update

Still slow Mac after installation of 16 GB of RAM

My MacBook Pro has been slow, taking a lot of time to do simple tasks and constantly showing the spiral of spinning. I upgraded to 4 GB of RAM, 16 GB. IOS is not running on a MacBook Pro. Do you mean that you went to El Capitan?

When Safari is running slowly? When? What sites? Force Quit Safari and then start it again while holding down the SHIFT key. If Safari works as expected, then remove your installed Safari extensions. Restart Safari normally and add your extensions one by one until the slow back. You have now identified the extension at the root of the problem.

Update does not seem to have problems - failure, lack of time for flash, backup, etc.

boot sequence seems normal (finds it a bootable cd in the drive, etc.), but windows won't load in safe or other mode

next steps? is there a way to access the BIOS?

There is a simple solution to this problem. The HP Online Crash Analysis Team has finally responded to my email after 34 days. I had given up hearing from them despite several requests to repeat.

I had completely disassembled the laptop trying to find the bios setting the jumpers on the motherboard in response to an idea contained in one of the PM, I sent... all to nothing does not...

OCAT told me to look in the BIOS under "system configuration" for the Native SATA support. The last update of the BIOS resets this point 'activated', but that only works for Vista & Win 7. This must be set to "disabled" for XP and previous operating system.

I hope that this post will save someone having to wait 5 weeks invest hours of work for a solution that took 3 minutes!

XP pro sp3 pc disappears from network locations after a while

We connect a small network with 3 pc running vista home and a running xp pro sp3. Vista computers seem to work fine but a xp pro computer disappears from my network places on all computers, including to himself after 20 minutes, the pc started.

Anyone know how to make the pc does not disappear?
