  • HP Officejet pro 8100 cannot wifi access point?

Yesterday, my HP Officejet pro 8100 arrived and I try to connect via wifi. I thought that it need access to infrastructure to print via wifi.

When I turned on the printer I osserved that he create a stand-alone gateway with SSID: HP-Setup-7 a-Officejet Pro with IPv4 server address, etc...

I was very happy and I printed a page with my smartphone samsung s4 directly connected printer access point (no wifi direct wifi except standard).

Has been held today has changed, but I can't use printer with its own point of access, but only with an external wifi access point.

Can someone help me, please? It could be a hardware problem?

    Thank you

    Luca

P.S. to the webserver I checked 'connectivity point of access' (di accesso instradamento wireless in Italian Punto) is checked.

    Hello lucait

You are right that the Hp Officejet PRo 8100 is a single function printer which does not directly optional wireless. You can always do what you want to do, but you will need a router to connect the printer to a network, and from there you can use the network routers or set up the feature ePrint for your portable devices.

I hope this solves your post. Thanks again for the display on the HP Forums. It has been a pleasure. Have a great day!

    Hello

After a reinstall of the operating system, you must reinstall the latest drivers from your computer manufacturer's website:

Go to the website to make your computer > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

    ________________________________________

And you do not tell us why you did a reinstall and if there reboot/freeze before you did this reinstall.

FYI: Desktop computers normally are Wi - fi unless you install additional hardware for this.

    ________________________________________

Noise inside a desktop computer can be caused by fan/s or harddrives about to fail.

Go to the website of your computer manufacturer > search your computer specifications > know brand of hard drive > access the Hard Drive manufacturer's Web site > find and download hard drive Diagnostic software and make a record of start of it on the computer that you use to get here, following their instructions > test your hard drive...

    See you soon.

  • Satellite P875 - 32L - is unable to reconnect to the last connected WIFI access point

I have a problem to reconnect to the last connected WLAN provider, with my Satellite P875 32 L.
WLAN is switched on and shows all the neighbors access points, but it fails to whoever I logged before the reboot, or before you go to the rescue of the list.

I'm going in service options for WLAN, sometiimes up to 5 times, then it undermines meet usually.
    It's well annoying.

I have had this with the other 30 satellite of P870 too, but something so this behavior have disappeared. So there must be a solution.

    Hello

You're talking about your private Wlan at home?
If you had the same problem using another laptop too, it could be possible that this isn't a problem with the network s laptop wireless card or Wlan configuration but with the WLan router.

You should definitely reset/reboot the rooter.
In addition, check the settings of the IP router and or mac address filtering.
Change also the type of encryption and Wlan channel.

You have to try different combination turn off just to test the WiFi encryption and check if the laptop would connect to the Wlan open correctly.
But the Wlan encryption must always be defined in order to avoid improper use of the Wlan access point.

  • Satellite L500-19Z - limited WIFI access

    Hello.

Last week I had real problems with my laptop, access to the Wifi network. We have many other devices that can still use the internet on our wifi but my laptop seems to be difficult to access.

While booting, the laptop connects to the network, but displays 'limited access' with a yellow exclamation mark over the bars (in full) in the lower right corner.

I tried to reinstall the drivers and adapters both say they are "working properly". I am not very confused as to how to solve this problem.

Could someone help. I had the laptop for 3 years and it still works with that I only use it for web browsing and play of light.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I don t think its only Wlan related question, given that the laptop can not use the Ethernet connection also. So it must be something with the router or the pre-installed software

You have a security tool installed like Firewall, antivirus software, malware software?
Try to disable this just for testing purposes, and then check the internet connection.

Also recommended to reset the router just to see if it can help

It seems that you need to disable management feature in Windows to energy WLAN power management and update the WLAN driver to the latest version.

The user ghostruane has also written an interesting publication. He disabled the network adapter in the Device Manager and it helped :)

  • can I use a laptop to set up a wifi access point?

When I first received a laptop of opportunity in last December, a colleague tech at my night school mentioned that I didn't have to buy a 803,11 access point device to plug my switch, but I rather use a WiFi card on my computer to create my own access point. I told him I have such a card and put a little out of my mind.

However, I have someone outside to spend the night at my place, and he needs to check his e-mail. Unfortunately, it seems that the RJ-45 socket on his laptop is broken, I have tried several cables and impossible to get a connection, including the cable to connect the computer I'm using now.

Is it possible that I can use ICS on XP Pro (preferred) or Vista 32 bit Home Premium (really want to use it, I have never set the boot loader after the upgrade to XP on a separate partition, especially because XP has worked so much better) to set up enough connectivity for him to connect to the mail server?

Should I Windows 7 or Vista to do this? I know how to do the reverse quite easily (share Wi-Fi on the Ethernet port), but I don't know how to set up the SSID and others. I would assume same WEP or WPA2 (Yes, I know how it is easy to crack, but it's better that transmitting passwords in clear text because it discourages occasional interception) would too, so it will accept a connection open, unencrypted. I'll just close access once it does.

How could I go to set it up? I'm not spending money on software that is not free for one night, one-shot deal. Kiss, I just need a connection of bare bones for him. If its Ethernet port was working, I would leave him to plug my switch, but since it's not I need to create a gateway using what material I have on hand, and the only device with any kind of ability 803.11 is my own laptop.

I know it's possible, I don't know if this is something only Linux, or a solution that requires 3rd party software.

Yes, you can use ICS.  See http://practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/

    I forgot to include this--> http://www.home-network-help.com/ad-hoc-wireless-network.html

You will need to configure security manually from the properties of maps dialog box wireless (on both computers) and IIRC, you can use WEP in ad-hoc XP networks.

    Go to the correct place
Right click on the wireless adapter icon and select Properties
    Click the wireless networks tab
Click Add to create a configuration
in the 'Association' tab, set the SSID, network authentication 'Open' and WEP data encryption.
It's been so long that I made that I remember exactly, but I think you can use only the 10 digit Hex key.

  • Subnet routed on the main gateway of the WiFi Access Point

    Hello people.

I have the wireless router WAG200G. It sports a RJ-11 input and a four port RJ-45, while it is compatible 802.11 g.

I need to use it as an Access Point, WiFi via DHCP clients accommodation in its own range (I fear not the 192.168.1.x default range). However, I need to give this subnet, access the internet via my main network which has another Beach, say 10.0.0.x, where the entry door is 10.0.0.2

I tried the subnet routing WiFi to my front door, but apparently I'm missing something I ever managed :-)

For those wishing to help could you please tell me through this page http://ui.linksys.com/files/WAG200G/1.00.09/Setup_routing.htm ?

FYI, I got the Linksys in my network off main application everywhere (Linksys & PCs) static IP, nat and affecting encapsulation Bridged Mode only. That's how it worked, but for security reasons, I need to isolate this subnet WiFi.

Any kind of help would be appreciated.

If you used the WAG as point of access only with standard Linksys firmware, then you cannot use the DHCP server. The WAG will always assign its own IP address as the gateway via the DHCP server. The only option would be to use the DHCP relay function or set another DHCP server.

As long as the WAG is connected through a LAN port to your existing network you connected side full LAN of the WAG in your network. You don't want to run any DHCP server on the WAG. Your main router provide DHCP service. If your wireless devices have trouble getting an IP address from your main router, which should be the first thing to solve...

  • E2500 as point of WiFi access only

I have E2500 race as router/DHCP server. For reasons beyond the scope of this question, I replace the DHCP functions and a router with a SonicWALL device. I want to continue to use the E2500 as wireless access point, offering free WiFi to the SonicWALL. How can I configure the E2500 to that effect. I guess I disable the NAT and DHCP server within the unit. Is there a dedicated mode "access point"? Thank you

N ° there is no access point mode. Set a LAN IP address adapted on the E2500, disable the DHCP server and one of the E2500 LAN ports connect to the SonicWALL.

1st thing to try is the system in safe mode restore to before the problem

  • Detection of MDS via WiFi access

    Hello

My application uses the BES/MDS connection to join a server within the company. The server is not routable on the internet, so I have to use BES/MDS connection.

I have a method "is data routable ' which checks the status of 'data by radio', however if the BES/MDS connection is via WiFi (as illustrated connection"Service Status") then 'data by radio' is not applicable.

However, it isn't just a question detect that there is a WiFi connection as the BES/MDS is not accessible from the WiFi connection is established.

So (finally) my question is if there is a way to check how the BES/MDS connection is set up (mobile network or Wifi) so that I can this included in my method "data is routable.

    Thank you very much

    David Johnson

Thanks a lot for the suggestion.

I used initially: CoverageInfo.isCoverageSufficient (COVERAGE_MDS); in my method "is data routable" however I found this API to be unrealiable in the BB OS 4.2.1, for example, it would return false even if there was coverage MDS.

Are you suggesting that I use something more like:

    CoverageInfo.isCoverageSufficient (COVERAGE_MDS, RadioInfo.WAF_WLAN, true);

    specifically, checking access WiFi MDS?

    Thank you very much
