  Avoid any problems flashing the BIOS to an older version. Did you do that there is no way to manually change the video memory setting in the BIOS?

• Windows XP Bios problem

  When you install Microsoft XP, I seem to be a BIOS problem.  The error message loads up once the disc loaded files, but until you're able to partition the drive.  The error message indicates that the hardware and BIOS are not ACPI compatible.  After reading upward, I tried to correct the problem by what the error message says to do.  First of all, try to update the BIOS.  I called my computer supplier and received the last update for the BIOS of the computer.  I installed it and nothing happened.  I resorted to the second option listed that would press the F7 key. that was supposed to disable the ACPI and force the installation. It does not yet.  I then read a few forums and they said to update a file on the disk XP (TXTSetup.sif).  So I did but nothing seems to happen.  You have other options to get this facility by?

• Help! XP and BIOS problems! Satellite 2410

  Hi all

  I had trouble with XP Pro for a while and finally decided to reinstall XP Pro - easier said than done!

  My questions are:
  (1) how to access the bios so it starts from the CD?
  (2) once it reboots from the CD can just reinstall XP?

  Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

  Hi George,.

  Normally by pressing ESC when starting poster system BIOS load progress. You can try pressing and tenuous F2 which normally brings you to the CONFIGURATION of the BIOS screen and hold F12 that will take you to the SELECTION of BOOT menu, F8 will bring you to the boot option screen where you can select mode without FAILURE etc.

  Try to press F12 when the Toshiba start screen appears and see if you get the boot selection menu.

  Hi guys, I have read through some of the related posts but can't revive my system.

  Laptop was working fine before that all happened. Model is HP DM4-2015DX

  During a restart during the restore to factory default, I rested my hand on the F2 key and entered the "start checking...". »
  but as I noticed before the screen followed by all that it goes in this audit statup I held the power button and turn off the computer.

  As I pressed it again I get a solid light orange Wifi and a single glance on the CAPS LOCK key... Troubleshoot link shows it is problem of CPU, but it is impossible because it was working fine the second before.

  So far, I've tried the windows + key + B and UEFI USB tool to no change, still the same symptoms.

  Someone at - it any other ideas? I feel really bad for not letting the full audit before restarting.

  I reinstalled the BIOS with BIOS of F.04 (sp53126.exe) following a guide of donovan6000 (Insyde BIOS Modding: brick HP recovery) to the step of renaming. Instead of using XXXXX.fd, I used *. BIN and materialized. All fixed!

  I have a new toshiba satellite click on 10, but when I try to update the BIOS to 1.6 it pops up an error that says "update bios image is not valid in the current bios or flash secure does not support flash secure." What it means? How can I solve this problem?

  The latest version of BIOS is 5.20. You can get it on the Toshiba site:

  I'm not here on this particular error, just try to install the latest version of the BIOS and make sure you select the correct phone model when downloading (I made this mistake before!).

• Satellite Pro A210 HDD, Windows Vista & BIOS problem

  We have an A210-1 b 3 - PSAFHE-01500PEN - running Vista which has had a hard drive failure.
  We have replaced the old drive SATA (250 GB) with a 500 GB SATA drive and used the recovery disc to install Vista and specific software from Toshiba. We intend to restore our backup data that a Vista is installed.

  That is the problem. We have installed the new hard drive, ran the recovery and after restarting, we got a Windows could not sating error set up the hardware and then restarts. I suspect that the new drive is not recognized by Vista. I looked around and it was suggested to the SATA Compatible parameter value in the BIOS. However, the BIOS (V1.5) has no options for this.

  So, can anyone suggest anything please? Any ideas where I can get the latest update of BIOS (pref one that allows me to create a boot disk and update BACK)? Any help appreciated because she has completely baffled me.

  Seems that A210 BIOS does not support the SATA option, that would help you to switch the AHCI compatible mode. That is why the SATA drivers must be included in the configuration of OS install.

  I've been watching different cards and moved between a couple to then say that they may not compatible with my older hp desktop computer. My bios version is 7.06 friend, 16/08/2011. If anyone can recommend or list of compatible with this pc graphics cards, please let me know. I have a new cx600 power supply, so it won't be a problem.

  Yes, there may be exceptions depending on the manufacturer.  Some of them may have updates VBIOS that will allow their cards in order to work with a Legacy BIOS.  I know that EVGA has a few updates for their cards.

  sounds are really weird. Unfortunately, there is no chance to recover the old BIOS. Your only options are:

  1. the google search or find another user who performs a backup of your BIOS
  2. try to update your chipset drivers, etc, which might help your USB issues
  3. contact authorized service partner that should help you with the BIOS.

  Try contacting experts Linux on some Linux forum. You have better chances to get help there.
