Xbox 360 slim connect to the interface on WRT160N wireless - g

Hello:

I bought a new Xbox 360 Slim a month ago. Before that, in anticipation of the console to my new wireless capabilities I advanced and changed my old WRT54G (1.1) for a wireless-N router WRT160N allowed.

When I plugged the console for the first time it was a nightmare to configure wireless settings... It wouldn't connect, in every possible way... And when I finally made a connection that he deleted just after 1 hour (I think it had something to do with the renewal of WPA key, if you must ask) I've updated the firmware and all was good again. BUT! It only connects to wireless-G... I have the router located on 'Mix', so she accepts my notebooks 802.11 G and my 360 Wireless N, but just, it detects the router mode G and connects like that...

I tried EVERYTHING, but nothing works.

It connects fine, I even get open NAT on the console and play online with no apparent problems, but I need Wireless N, because the router and 360 are too separate, and the signal is becoming weak. Also I usually stream 1080 p content so I need more bandwidth.

I tried setting that "only wireless n" router, but then the console just does not connect, says he "can't connect to the wireless hardware.

I could not test any hardware wireless-N, so I don't really know if it's the fault of the router, the console or is that just, they are not compatible...

Any tips?

Can't... My only two options are 'automatic' or 'only 20 Mhz'... :/ I can only change the channel on 20 Mhz. But thanks for the tip.

EDIT:

OMG, I can't believe it... It is NOT a malfunction N wireless network... This has to do with security... I had my personal WPA authentication method... According to joint works like a charm and everything connects, but the Xbox connect just the wireless G. Under Wireless-N only, it just does not connect. But I tried to disable security, and he comes to connect n wireless!

Now, I switched to WPA2 Personal... it connects perfectly on Wireless N even if I set the 'Mixed' router and broadband radio and the way to the car.

My problem is solved, however, I got to know is always:

Why he doesn't connect WPA enabled?

    Hello, bob4544353534

What security software do you use? (Antivirus, firewall, etc.).

Try restarting the computer and Xbox and try to reconnect.

If you use a third-party AV or firewall, remove the extender connection, disable the firewall/AV and then configure the extension once more.

For information about how to remove the Extender, check out the following link:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Use-a-Windows-Media-Center-Extender-device

Remember to re-enable your security software after the addition of the Extender.

  • The Xbox 360 controller connection

    Hi all

I have my amazing Lenovo P70, that I really like. Everything worked without any problem, except my Xbox360 wired remote. I check with my keyboard USB, mouse USB USB OTG and USB flash key. All these devices work as expected.

But when I connect my original Xbox 360 wired controller via the same dongle USB OTG, the four LEDs (player indicators) start to blink. Operating system does not recognize controller and I can't exploit office with the help of knobs and buttons.

I also try to run "USB host diagnosis" (from gPlay) and here is the result:

    http://usbhost.Chainfire.EU/?search=1018316

I have the version of android stock 4.4.4 kitkat

    Lenovo/P70-A/P70-A:4.4.4/KOT49H/P70-A_S134_150729_16G_ROW:user/release-keys

I think the OS (android) are missing the necessary controller driver.

Can you please help me solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Everything works beautifully.

  • Where can I buy an original Xbox 360 slim power supply

I got a new xbox 360 slim power brick came from damage, very hot, the fan does not turn on and the xbox turns off.  Where can I buy a new power supply for Xbox 360 slim?

    Hello

You will probably want a replacement. I would have you contact Xbox 360 support and ask for a replacement.

If you want to buy a new Xbox slim 360 power supply current, no doubt, you can visit Microsoft store and order a.

Except that it is impossible to find one on the Microsoft Store website. A search sorted by relevance shows several pages of results, but stops to those connected Xbox without a power supply, appearing never to return.

So where/how in fact buy a replacement power supply, please?

    Hello

This info you have posted has been extremely useful. I contacted the: contact Xbox 360 support as described above and crossed the shoots of boredom to verify that it is indeed, the power supply cord. Then, I could order one for about $35.00 with shipping and taxes, (since the site checked that our original warranty had already expired).

    Thank you :-)

When I hit the guide button it goes right on my xbox 360

Great thanks for the help everyone. • Xbox/PC cannot connect to the 5 GHz network (E4200 v2)

My network is detectable, but my machines will not connect (they were already connected).  They can connect to the 2.4 gHz network, but not the 5 (I use 5 for the streaming of media and gameplay).  Windows 7 says it's unable to connect.

    Please help a n00b networking.

According to the scenario, try the following combination of steps:

[A] with the help of the Cisco Connect software (if at all, you have installed the router using this software)

1] open the software and go to the option that says "settings of the router.

[2] then click on the option that says 'Advanced settings', which will take you to the router configuration page.

[3] then go to the wireless network mode tab keep as mixed,

For the 5 GHz channel parameters, you can do channel width to 20 MHz only and channel 40 or 161...

[B] If you have not installed Cisco connect then you can connect to the router's user interface using its default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and enter "admin" as password empty username field. This will take to the web interface of the router and then follow the steps as indicated above to make the changes.

Second, update the drivers for the card wireless laptop and Xbox, then check the connectivity status.

  • 169.254.what? Xbox 360 can't get the ip address of the router or modem.

OK first off I know that you have solved this problem in this forum before. I could not know how to solve based on available positions. In any case, I'll have the old 169.meta some problem. I feel like I need to change the IP to automatically configure for LAN but I don't know how. BTW, I have my laptop wireless connected to the router and the xbox 360 has an ethernet cable connected to the router. The router is a Linksys WRT54G2, the modem is a Motorola SB5101 surfboard and the laptop is a HP Pavilion dv6000 running Windows 7. I tried all troubleshooting and simple diagnostic tests as restarts and the default settings and cables control and router config etc. Please help me solve this problem. I am tech savvy but only up to a point it seems. Thanks in advance for your time and your response.

  • Vista Media Center and my Xbox 360 extender connection

Hi I have a problem connecting my xbox 360 and my windows vista media center. Everytime I try I get the message saying that it can't find the range extender and suggests that it is one of the following three things

    (1) the Extender is turned on and connected to the network

It's on and it appears as an icon of the xbox 360 in my network on the vista machine and can connect to the internet, so I guess the network very well.

    (2) that the code is correct

It's that I checked it about 30 or twice now.

    (3) UPnP does not work properly

I guess that's the problem but cannot figure out how to solve. I have a BT Homehub router. I've implemented through active UPnp. I even tried to disable the firewall completely on it and on vista, it made no difference to the port forwarding doesn't seem to be the answer.

Help please it is one of the main reasons I got an xbox 360 and vista

    Paul.

  • You can use two dongles Microsoft Xbox 360 to connect 8 remotes Xbox 360 to PC?

I wanted to just connect 8 xbox 360 remotes for sports games and most of all the 8 beast gang called fighting game player.  Have a dongle that works very well, but you can connect 4 to a dongle. If I had to buy another dongle I would be able to connect four more? Thanks for your time guys.

Yes, if you can plug two dongles at the same time. You would need more than a port, so it may or may not be, but if this is the case, it will work.
