XOOM 2 ME: SD card

Media edition will have a functional COMPLETELY SD card?

In the press release for the United Kingdom, there is no SD card be mentioned or included in the technical specifications:

http://mediacenter.Motorola.com/press-releases/Motorola-mobility-launches-two-new-tablets-in-the-UK-...

the site Motodev for WiFi only version says: "Not available in all areas" for the SD card.

http://developer.Motorola.com/products/Xoom-2-me-mz607/

As a logical conclusion, it seems that the United Kingdom is an area where the SD card is not available in the WiFi only XOOM 2.

J,

Thanks for your reply.

the only version of wifi for ME is just being released in the United Kingdom at the moment - I am trying to confirm if this version has indeed a microSD for storage expansion slot. You tube pre version reviews of this product of last month would imply that the only wifi version doesn't have a microSD slot but I guess the spec may have changed for the full release.

get an answer on this would help me decide on my purchase.

Thanks again,

  • Any chance to use the Xoom with prepaid data card/key

Since we travel a lot, the idea of paying the data available on our Xoom only WiFi are attractive. I've seen these data "sticks" available for the regular USB ports, but not for the mini USB port located on the Xoom. Even if it was available, he would work on the Xoom without additional software changes?

Or am I totally off base here? (Wouldn't be the first time)

    Welcome dodgema,

The USB port on the Xoom does not currently feature host for USB drives or other storage devices. It does not allow the Xoom to be a connected to a PC as a device (the PC's host) to allow file transfers. Once honeycomb is updated to allow external storage, you must always apply android on the USB device or locally to run a prepaid program. You can use free WiFi at many public hotspots, WiFi only that I saw that you were going to a specific location for the (less flexible for me) access would require. You can, however, use a MiFi device to attach your Xoom out of a cell phone to use its data plan (some are pay as you go and others are unlimited). This gives you a mobile WiFi hotspot everywhere wherever you go.

  • Micro SD 32Gb card will not rise...

I just bought a microSD 32 Gb Sandisk class 4 off the coast of dailysteals (same place, I bought my Xoom). I plugged it in and the Xoom does nothing with him. I'm not and when I go to storage and SD card support touch screen, nothing happens. When I plug the Xoom in my laptop via the USB port, computer laptop doesn't see that there will be a memory, microSD. I was previously using a Sandisk 8 Gb microSD has worked well. What the devil?

    Thank you

    Welcome lou407,

It seems to me that your new Micro SDHC card has not yet been formatted in FAT32. We suggest formatting using a PC computer and then plug the Xoom. If you happen to restart your Xoom with inserted memory card, it can get hung up in a "loop" start until you remove the SD card.

This should solve your problem, but please post your results here.

  • SD card & deletion of e-mail

I have 2 burning questions with my XOOM that I spoke with Verizon and Motorola and so far do not have a resolution.

My XOOM has been updated to 4G and is running 3.2.2

Question No. 1 is that the SD Card WILL NOT read the files I have loaded it to my computer. I created a folder on the SD card for my business files (Excel, Word, PDF, JPG, etc.). When I go to Astro File Manager and access the SD card, it shows me only the files that are in the memory of the XOOM. Does not read files from the SD card. My watch XOOM that the SD card mounted on the camera.

I took my SD card in a Verizon store and place in a Samsung Tablet and it read the files on the card. When we put the SD card in an other XOOM, it didn't read it or the other.

2nd edition is the removal of e-mail. I have several our email, including exchange server my account. In general, I read my emails on my desktop computer.

When I go to email on the XOOM accounts, there are hundreds of unread emails and I just want to do a DELETE ALL, I read the.

On the XOOM, I must place a checkbox for each email and delete them page by page. It is very time consuming. Emails go to the trash folder, then you need to repeat the same procedure to delete e-mails.

These issues must be resolved. I bought the XOOM on the ipad because it has a sd card, but if he does not read MY FILES, it is of no use to me.

And the e-mail problems must be solved.

I have a Motorola Droid X which reads all files on the SD card and has an option to DELETE ALL THE emails. Why can't you get this resolved for the XOOM. I'm sure that others have the same problems!

    Welcome billr14,

For the Xoom to recognize any SD card in a reliable way, it must be formatted in FAT32. Provided your card matches the minimum specs for the Xoom (I don't see the brand, size, or the mentioned class), I suggest reformat to FAT32 locally on your PC and then to the start to transfer your files and folders. Once completed, load the card into your Xoom and see if the Astro file manager sees the content correctly. If so, then you should be able to continue the update of the card from the PC via the USB cable or the local computer.

Issue 2 is email deletion. I have multiple email acounts, including my exchange server account. Generally, I read my emails on my desktop computer. When I go to the email accounts on the XOOM, there are hundreds of unread emails and I simply want to do a DELETE ALL as I have read them.On the XOOM, I have to place a check mark by each email and delete them page by page. This is very time consuming. Then the emails go to the trash folder and you have to repeat the same procedure to delete emails.

This is a limitation of customer stock of Google mail. If you use a client (for example E-mail K-9) more robust email application, you will have more options available like the mass selection and delete. You will find some other email clients on the Android market, you can compare the features first.

  • Card 3g SIM - UK Version of the Motorola Xoom

    Hi all

My friend about to buy a motorola xoom 3 g + wifi for me in the United Kingdom. In my country, we cannot use 3g SIM-free service. Someone tried to use 3g with SIM card service?

The caveat on the plastic insert was only for the CDMA Verizon version to the United States. Can't say why it is also in the European version. They should have just put in an empty placeholder.

Background information: Verizon's CDMA network does not require the use of a SIM card. When upgrading future 4 g arrives, change XOOMs US material and the 4G network will require using a sim card, so caution.

    udornbound wrote:

on mine there is a warning on the insertion of sd card speaks of the slot is not active until the next update

osteonecrosis of the jaw insert plastic for the sim card, it says something as not to put a sim card in until the 4g sim card upgrade which sorta implies that the xoom is compatible 3 g!

but as I said I've been a bit stupid and just stuck the sim card in without reading the warning and mine seems to work ok

    hope that helps

  • Micro for Xoom card

What card will support the Xoom? The microSDHC or microSD card?

    Hello dale1942

The official support of Micro SD (Standard capacity) is 2 GB, some of them up to 4 GB

So the Micro SDHC (high capacity) support between 4 GB to 32 GB

So the XOOM supports up to 32 GB of SD card, then is SDHC who take in charge the XOOM

  • Xoom: sd card cannot rise

I have a Xoom internal memory 32 GB WiFi and Android 3.2. When I insert a micro SD card 16 G SanDisk 4 and the power to the top class, I can't mount the card. I go to settings > store and get an error with the option to Force Close message or send a report. Most of the time, the application closes without action on my part. If I insert the SD card while the Xoom is turned on, I get a different problem. I am able to get on the storage parameter, and there is an option to mount the card. However, using this option does not have nothing to take. The card is formatted in FAT32. I copied some files to it on my PC, and the files are there when I connect the card to the PC. I checked the Commission here and not see this problem being addressed. Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

  • Cannot transfer files (.doc, .pdf, .xls, etc.) to the Xoom on WinXP SP3

At home, I have Windows 7 and have only minor problems, file transfer to my Xoom. I invited to Skip, Skip All, ignore, etc. but only am allowed to still transfer files.

My question is at work on my WinXP SP3 machine where I want my Xoom transferable working documents for when I travel. When I transfer, I get a prompt similar to Skip, Skip All, but no option ignore and continue to transfer, only to cancel. Since Mico SD card does not right now, I need a way to sync my Xoom upward with my working files.

Someone has an idea? All my research was unsuccessful.

  • Missing SD card cover

While I was looking for an answer to this problem, I saw a similar discussion in the non-us Xoom forum. Somehow the cover of the SD card came out of my Xoom. Does anyone know how to order a replacement? Thank you!

    Welcome uracorpse,

I think that the only place where you can get that part is Motorola. A few other owners who have lost blankets, said the part was not available at the end of May and beginning of June. I propose assistance and ask whether it is now in stock.
