XP Pro recovery disc

My G530 4446-38U came with XP Pro, pre-loaded with 3 recovery disc Vista provided.

I burned the recovery disc for XP Pro, but who created him only 2 drives.

I'm not too worried, but I guess that I was expecting 3, like Vista.

There are only 2 recovery disc for XP Pro?

Yeap only 2 disks for XP pro. The provided disks should be 8 CD record, but when burn you it by dvd, it's only 2 drives.

    Hello world

I always use an IBM Thinkpad A31 2652-J3G. The (small but enough that my needs) 20 GB hard drive failed and I replaced the hard drive. However, I do not have of the recovery disc for this model. There is a legitimate sticker of the XP Pro license on the underside of the device, but of course I'm stuck.

I bought this to the surroundings of 1993 where I lived in the United Kingdom. I now live in the USA. I would like to put windows on this system as soon as POSSIBLE. (I installed Ubuntu temporarily, but that is not ideal because he refuses to work with my Wireless PCMCIA card), and I am struggling to find a compatible USB key that works with Ubuntu and the USB1 former ports on the laptop!

I want just XP Pro back! The system is obviously not up to running Windows 7, but if I could afford to buy anyway I would not use my phone ten year old in the first place!

A big thank you to anyone who can point me in the right direction.

I did some research on Google for more information and found that it is not legal to download an ISO of the XP disc, even if it's useless without a legal product key, (which I own). Weird.I don't want to get into trouble, so I won't do that.

Instead, I called Lenovo, who said they have a set of discs that they could send but want $45 for her! Crazy. I asked if they could provide a link to the ISO I could download, but they said no. It seems that I've pretty much paid for XP again despite already owning a license due to the heavily inflated price they sell discs for if I want to use Windows XP on this machine again.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - cannot install recovery disc

    Hi - I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E-04H00VEN model number

It was less his hard drive and I posted previously to try a 160 GB drive without success. I thought that the drive may be defective, so I have now acquired a 120 GB drive. It is not new, but assured me that it works. However, it does not work in this laptop! As before (with the disk 160), when I try to install it using the Toshiba restore disc, the operation just sticks on the "Please wait..." message. "for 30 minutes then the machine shuts down. Assuming that the hard drive is ok there at - it something more, that I can do to determine the problem with this laptop?

FYI, this is what happens after installing the hard drive:
I turn it on and get this message: NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.
I insert the product recovery disc, put off and then again when you press F12.
I get a soft Purring over the Toshiba logo. I select the CD/DVD symbol and get a short message saying: the installer inspects the hardware configuration of your computer.
I then get RAMDISK image loading... which takes less than 2 minutes.
I then get a short message saying: from Windows Preinstallation Environment. Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver...
I then get it please wait... and after 10 seconds, the fan goes into overdrive! This Carry on during 30 minutes with him please wait... message, then the laptop turns off automatically.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lapitup,

Before you buy another HARD drive, you need to test a different installation disk you have already tried the two hard disks with the same problem so I think that the problem is not HARD drive itself

If you have a normal installation disc of Windows, you can install Windows on this drive. So you can check if the recovery disk works properly or not. Theoretically, the disc could be wiped off so that the files cannot be read properly.

In the worst cases, some of the material is affected. Then, you need professional help of an authorized service provider.

  • How to match license of the recovery disc (OEM XP Pro) comes with a computer to this computer?

I inherited the task of managing computers ten here in our small office. Each comes with a recovery disc that contains an installation of XP Pro OEM program. Unfortunately, not all disks are labeled so I don't know what units delivered with what machines. Over the years, some of the machines have died which means we have installers more than machines. I want to assure you that I have the license correct correspondence to the correct computer. Is it possible to do? Is it possible to review the installer and see what license it will use will be and then look at the computer and determine the currently installed license on it? Thank you!

MS has a software in-house, which allows to identify any key given - and say with what channel it was issued, when it was issued and first activated, how many times it is activated, etc.

What they cannot do, is be specific about which she turned on because the database (optional) record is completely separated from the database of Activation (required).

This software is not available to the outside (for obvious reasons)

  • A recovery disc for Windows (for a Surface of 3 pro) 8.1 can be used on a different Surface Pro 3?

    Hello

We tried to use a recovery disc of the 8.1 Win with an area of 3 pro on another surface pro 3 and we had this message when we click on 'Continue' (exit and continue to Windows 8.1)

"Recovery... looks that Windows did not load properly...". »

What it means that they are not compatible, and we cannot use this on this surface pro recovery disk?   Or it's something that we can ignore and just continue search for defects and forward repair options?

    Thank you and best regards,

  • HP PAVILION ELITE E9280T D: CTO need new recovery disc

I have a pair of old HP Pavillion E9280T desktop systems. I have recently installed a new hard disks on the two (both are identical machines, ordered that a pair of HP).  I also have a two sets of recovery disks that I made when the systems are new, saved on DVD.

On a single system, I was able to successfully perform a full restore (return to factory settings).  On the other system, recovery stops on the 3rd disc in 68% and gives me the following error message: "Recovery Manager is unable to restore your computer by using the original image. Please contact HP support. 0xe0ef000e error code.

I've searched the forums and found that many others have experienced this same problem.  I tried some of the proposed fixes, such as clean rags and Re-partitioning the hard drive.  None of them worked.

For fun, I also tried to recover the system using the recovery of the other machine disks.  I discovered that I was able to do a full system recovery using these disks.  It tells me that I have probably a corrupt set of recovery disks and not a hardware problem.

Unfortately, while it was fun to find out where the source of the problem, I can of course use the same set of recovery disc for both machines (I'm sure that Windows will blow up as soon as I connect to the internet and connect to MS servers).

So my question is... what should I do?  I don't think that HP sells the recovery discs any longer.  But I have a copy of Win7 Pro that I paid for, trapped on the recovery discs that don't work.

In advance, thank you for any suggestions or advice.

OK... im going to answer my own question... I should have realized this earlier, before posting my initial question.

I had a set of recovery disc for an HP same machine... at the beginning I don't think that I could use them... I did not know that the unique product key MS is not copied or assigned to the recovery discs... and since both systems where the same in all respects... it worked!

  • Reinstallation of the product recovery disc DLL file

I recently reformatted my hard drive and reloaded Windows XP Home Pro on my M100 Satellite (PSMA0A) from the product recovery disc.

Everything is OK except that I get an error 'Unauthorized repositioning of system DLL' whenever I start the computer?

    The exact error message reads;

    RTHDCPL. EXE, DLL unauthorized system

"The user32.dll system DLL has been moved in memory. The application will not work correctly. The move took place because the dll C:/WINDOWS/system32/HHCTRL. OCX occupied an address box reserved for windows system DLLS. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

I contacted Toshiba who suggested I need to set up a new user account and then delete the original user account, and this should solve the problem.

.... I did as suggested, although this has not solved the problem...

    Any suggestion please

It will be nice if you can post the link.

  • dc5800 sff computer of office: purchase recovery disc for dc5800 sff system, model KA404UT #ABA

I am the 2nd owner of computer and appears as former owner had installed a Dell on this HP operating system. would be OK but drive hard contains of disk errors that Windows cannot fix. Leading to intermittent shutdowns and all kinds of fluctuations to get a Win 7 upgrade disk to restart Windows. HP does not sell the RRD more. I'd be willing to pay for the discs, if someone has a set of left.

    Hello:

Most of the dc5800 comes with Windows Vista Business or Vista Business downgraded to XP Pro, like yours, so HP has never had recovery disc for the dc5800 W7.

    https://h10057.www1.HP.com/ecomcat/hpcatalog/specs/provisioner/05/KA404UT.htm

You call this number (USA/Canada) to see if HP recovery Vista Business left discs?

Demand for 64-bit because otherwise you will get 32 bits.

    1-800-334-5144

If they do not, you can still get a set of this provider not HP - looks like only 32-bit however.

You can call and ask if they have Vista Business 64-bit games.

  • Tecra R950-159 - Windows 8 Pro recovery is very slow

    Hello

I just unpacked my R950-159 and inserted the DVD Pro Windows8.
He wiped the drive and showed a screen "copying files".

After inserting the DVD2 continues the process of copying.
Recovery (settings?) seems to take ages.
After 1,5 hour +, there is always the Red Toshiba Leading Innovastion screen.

No one knows how long this recovery is supposed to take?
2 hours, 3 hours? (The HD light still flashes every now and then).

    Thanks in advance for reply.

    BART.

    Hello

    Just to clarify this:
Your laptop has been delivered and pre-installed with Win 7
The Win 8 Pro 64 bit DVD was in the package
Now, you want to install Win 8 and replace you the Windows 7.
    Is this correct?

So as far as I know to install Win 8, you will need to go to the BIOS and must choose UEFI BIOS and must allow secure boot.
By the way: before installing the 8 to win, you must create a recovery disc that contains the preinstalled Windows 7!
Still is it that this drive is necessary if you want to revert to Windows 7!

I managed to bur the first DVD with the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator software on my P300-16 t. Howvere, the second drive still fails on creation.

I get the error message "an unexpected error occurred (error code: 0E01B5-25 - 2A 000000)"»

Is there any solution for this? It took an eternity to burn the first disc - more than 20 attempts, but I tried to create the second disc of at least 40 times so far.

    I use a Verbatim DVD-R discs and DVD - RW because I lost a certain DVD-R discs.

It is really strange. Two days ago I created the recovery on friends Satellite Pro P300-149 (PSPC1E) DVDs. It is interesting that I used a Verbatim DVD - R blank too.

You have always clean operating system preinstalled?
Try installing the OS using F8 and disturbances of my computer. With preinstalled OS absolutely clean, it should work. I really put t see why this happen.

  • T430s will not restart, can someone please explain how to use the 4 recovery discs?

So I bought a Lenovo T430s, with Windows 8.1 almost 2 years (off warranty now). It comes frozen, has started to beep, then turns off, and now it won't restart. When I turn it on, it always goes to the black and blue screen that offers a Boot Menu and a Menu of Application. The Start Menu has 2 options: ATAPI CDO: MAST * beep * ADVD - RAM UJ8C2 and PCI LAN: IBA GE Slot 00C v1536 8.

When I bought the laptop, it came with 4 disks. Two of them say "Windows 8 Recovery for Windows 8 Media products", and the other two say "operating system recovery disc, Windows 8 Pro (OEM Activation required 3.0)". "

I don't know what that most of this way. Can someone explain how I can fix or restart my laptop? I wonder if I am supposed to use a bootdisk of some, although it is at a certain menu option... I really appreciate any help

The first item in the Startup tab is 'Boot', Yes?

Press enter and start > splash screen should display with something like a list of the Boot priority order .

What do you see that listed there?

    Kind regards.
