XP, video card not detected

I have an old HP Pavilion with an integrated GPU. I installed XP and was able to install a missing audio driver. However, the system is still missing the SM Bus controller.  I installed the software of my new GPU on a disc and I changed the default on the BIOS to the PCI-E. I have physically installed a Radeon HD 5450 GPU, but the system does not detect. Can you help me?

Hi fabiolivorno,

Welcome to the Microsoft community. According to the description of the problem, your video card is not getting detected.

It looks like a hardware problem, I suggest you contact HP support for better support. You can also contact the local Tech store for that matter.

Missing SM Bus controller problem, it appears that if the chipset drivers are slow to be installed. I suggest to find the chipset on the CD drivers and install them.

I hope this helps. Let us know if you need help with Windows related issues. We will be happy to help you.

    Hello!

On the screenshot that you are using a motherboard Intel S3420GP. Just a NETWORK card is 82574L, the other on board is a 82578DM, which is not supported. So you will need additional network cards.

  • Satellite A300 - S-video does not detect TV

    Dear all
Last week, I bought your new product: Toshiba Satellite A300

I liked its release specifications specially s-video.
When I arrived at my house, I have it plugged into my TV:
    Bomba Toshiba 29A3MJ
    http://www.Toshiba-Gulf.com/site/product/prd_details.asp?prdid=1044&CATID=123

    I used S-Video/RCA cable:
    http://www.accessories-shop.NET/images/5FT_4_PIN_S-VIDEO_to_3_RCA_TV_male_Cable.jpg

Then, I put the TV fashion which I usually use to another laptop.
I kept clicking on Fn + F5 on the satellite phone without exploitation.
Nothing has been posted on the TV screem.
Before, I used to connect to HP Pavilion dv2000 in the same TV using the s-video and it worked fine.

Please advice how to solve this problem.
    Best regards

    Hello

    Usually, this should work.
Both devices must be OFF. Connect then the laptop and the TV using this cable.
Turn on the TV and the laptop starts.

If the use of the FN + F5 will not detect the image on the TV then I would recommend checking the settings in your graphics card properties.

I put t know what graphics card you have, but my Satellite phone has been equipped with the Intel graphics card and I can change the settings in Control Panel-> Intel GMA graphics card.

Maybe your laptop supports the ATI card. If these parameters were in ATI catalyst.

PS: Check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS and the latest graphics card driver too.

Where can I find a driver for my video card?

    Hi, Tom:

Use the W7 x 64 drivers of th is model g6.  For graphics, simply use the graphics driver AMD, Intel, not one.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

  • CQ5110y - new graphics card not detected

I have a cq5110y that I am trying to upgrade the graphics on.

I just installed a bigger power supply and is working on the installation of a Sapphire Radeon R7 240, but when I turn on my computer it does not detect the new hardware.  Am I missing a step?  Or is the card DOA?

The steps to install the new card were quite simple--plug it into the PCI-e slot and connect the monitor.  There was a note to disable any integrated first graphic, so I put the display to PCI-e in the BIOS.  Is that all I had to do to disable the integrated graphics card?  I think that this could be my problem?

Your Compaq Presario CQ5110Y desktop uses a chipset NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 seems limited to the PCI Express 1.0 version.  PCIe v1.0 is compatible front of PCIe v2.0.  PCIe v2.1 and above is not backwards comptible with your motherboard. Your Sapphire Radeon R7 240 seems to use a PCIe v3.0 card and is therefore not compatible with your computer. Please return the card for a graphic card PCIe v2.0 solve your problem.

  • Elitepad 900 microsd card not detected

I'm having a problem with the use of the microSD integrated on the HP ElitePad 900.

The Microsd card works on my laptop and works on the ElitePad when using the jacket of the expansion.

When I insert the micro SD card into the microsd slot on the back on the Elitepad next to the 3 G SIM, Windows 8 does not detect the card.

I'm using a Kingston 32 GB SDHC card.

I solved this problem by buying a Kingston 64 GB SDXC card. This card works perfectly.

I don't know what's the difference between a card SDHC and SDXC card, in addition to speed? The ElitePad seems to be only able to read a large map if it is SDXC.

  • Graphics/video card not available from Nvidia Web site update.

    Greetings,

I need to update the video card for an hp Pavilion dv6704nr w / videocard geforce 7150 m/nforce 630 m, running windows 7. I was told during my visit to Nvidia, I have go the manufacturer of my system to get the update.

It seems that if HP is going to force people to go there to get the update of the site, they should make available and for all major browsers. I know that my system came with Vista, but who knew at the time a program what Vista crap. HP offered here windows7 customers instead once he's out, but once you do this, HP will help you either.

Hewlett-Packard should have recalled products out there instead of selling a product that they can stand is no longer behind. It seems that the less these companies can make products, less likely to stand behind the products they make they are. Why go back to VIsta my only alternative? In my opinion, that I was hung up to dry.

    Hello

HP does not support the dv2K, the 6K or 9K notebook series for windows 7.

Most of the time, you need to use the Vista drivers from the support page and the model of the laptop driver that work very well.

I have a portable dv6810us with W7 64 bit installed with the same video, so I don't know the vista driver works fine with W7.

    There are no updated drivers.

Also, if you put a lot of pressure on your video card by playing games, your laptop will soon toast.

They have defective mothers who as soon as the GPU overheating, the video cards, among other things, as the wireless, died.  Do a search on dv6000 motherboard issues.

Right now, I recommend that use you your laptop to check e-mail and browse the web. I would not even listen to videos with her.

If you are still determined to update the driver, then I recommend you to read this guide below and to focus on the section Option 2 for the card nVidia GeForce GO 6150 7150 M, 7200 M, 7400 M or 7600 M:

  • Problem with video card only detect audio TV (no passthrough) via EDID

See this old marked question 'Answered' when it was clearly not: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/problem-outputting-51-surround-sound-via-tv-to-a/2edeb051-46d8-4428-81d9-23782ad12543

Here are once again this issue: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/unable-to-configure-hdmi-multi-channel-audio-only/dad9204b-0855-4cda-95c7-c586ac6a2503

This question has been around for three years without any company, address. In a common home theater setup, I have my geforce 650 connected to my TV via HDMI, and my TV is used as a relay to my receiver via an optical connection 5.1.

Now, if I use my Xbox 360 in exactly the same setup, I can simply force the 360 to output 5.1 despite being inherently stereo TV sound. However, Windows (with the geForce card) only detects the audio setup of your TV EDID and allow only native stereo output.

The fix to play media using a third-party player (think VLC) to manually select audio output; However, this does not have any other way to get audio, such as games or internet streaming.

A simple option to choose out of I want advanced would be greatly useful in sound options instead of force to choose only a possibly erroneous detection.

    Thank you.

    Hi Sonrio,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find all the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it looks like the game capture card Roxio is not detected in Windows.

I have a couple of steps that should help you with this problem.

    Method 1:

If your computer is having problems with a recently installed device or other hardware, try to use the hardware and peripheral troubleshooting tool to solve the problem. It checks the common issues of interest and ensures that a new device or hardware connected to your computer has been installed correctly.

Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

    Method 2:

Try to connect the card somewhere else USB and check.

I hope this helps. If you have questions more related to Windows, feel free to post here at Microsoft Community.

Please help me to solve the problem... video camera is inbuild in my laptop... and I've used it before without any problem... thx.

    Hi John,.

Thank you for your update on the issue.

In this case, the support can be extended on the forum if the product is discontinued. If you have the raw executable driver for the operating system file previous version installed (Windows 7), then you can install this driver in compatibility mode in Windows 8/8.1. Refer to the following steps to do:

    1. Right-click on the downloaded driver file.
    2. ClickProperties , and then select the compatibility tab.
    3. Check enable the option run this program in compatibility mode for: , and then select Windows 7 in the menu dropdown.
    4. Click OK and install the driver.

  • Support for the NETWORK card not detected during Setup

I try to install vSphere Hypervisor 6.0.  He said there was no detected network devices.  I found the NETWORK provider interface card and ID of device in ESXi console.  I then found his page in the VMware Compatibility Guide. The page indicates 6.0 is supported and this is the Inbox.  No idea what could be causing this error?

Edit: I can't seem to get the hyperlink in this text editor, I can not paste links.  So, here's a screenshot of the page of network cards

    esxi.png

Ah, what is more likely is that 6.0 does not have the appropriate drivers for the game chips and bus system so it does not detect the network interface cards because it does not actually detect parts of the motherboard.

There were a lot of older drivers removed in 6.0 which enabled 5.5 and below to work on the server not hardware. You the best solution is to install vmware workstation and install it inside the workstation for testing.
