XPS 8700 Bluetooth does not
I have a XPS 8700 bought in October and running Windows 7. I have problems bluetooth works properly. I downloaded and installed the latest driver, but when you look at Dell 1703 Bluetooth Wireless in the Device Manager, it has an error under device status of "this device cannot start. (Code 10) "I tried a few times to uninstall the driver, reboot, reinstall nothing doesn't.
Any idea what I can do to get this working?

Craig, you have to have, like me, received among the some 280 8700 XPS who left the factory without having drivers Bluetooth wireless Dell 1703 published... so your BT will not BT 4.0 update and so does not work. Go to Dell Support live chat and let guys try to solve your problem remotely, which they will not be able to do. When they did their thing, tell them you want a technician on-site, assuming you are still under warranty, to come to your home and install a half Mini Card Intell 6235 WLAN BT in the former location of 1703... install the two updates of 6235 Dell driver support and you will have a flawless Bluetooth program. No guarantee? Get a card for $25-30 6235 and install it your self takes about 20 minutes.

I just got my laptop and bluetooth does not work. Not sure if it was working before the upgrade of windows 10 that I had not previously and update. I have a problem with my laptop (satellite c660-A047) Bluetooth does not work on windows (7 and 8), but it works very well under Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Backtrack).
I have an outgoing method :) to do run on windows, start Linux Live then set the Bluetooth adapter to the off State, and then reboot (do not stop, restart only), and then start windows this time this Bluetooth adapter works great and updated automatically in the Device Manager.

The laptop supports Wlan Atheros / module combo BT.
This means that a single module shares WiFi and BT connectivity.Using Win 7 you must add the additional drivers called filter for driver Atheros BT package.
So first the Atheros WLan driver must be installed, secondly Atheros BT filter after battery Toshiba BT.To help to win 8, you must install two components of driver manually to enable the Bluetooth feature: System Toshiba + Atheros Bluetooth driver driver filter

Satellite L510 - Bluetooth does not
My bluetooth does not work - even if it can be turned on and she can identify the other bluetooth device, but the connection will not be established.
Whenever I try to make a new connection with my mobile phone, or send files to my cell phone or another bluetooth device, msg pop up window saying "Service discover failed".
And when I tried to add a new connection, a pop-up MSG saying "Service Detection failed".
What is strange:
1. my wifi does not work well.
2. when I turned on the bluetooth, it can identify the available bluetooth device - only it cannot send or add a new connection.I have never use the function of bluetooth since the day I bought the laptop - it's so new that it is old just 6 months. This is a brand new laptop and is installed with Windows Vista.
Appreciate if there is someone can help - I try not to send to the after-sales service to check because I had a very bad few months experience - it took a month just to fix the problem of fan. It's so not convenient.

Seems there is something wrong with the battery installed BT and the BT service that runs in the background.
I think you should first uninstall the BT stack.

Hi all, I need help with my new Helix (3698 - 6CG)
I have been using this machine for almost a month and bluetooth never even appeared in Windows. With all the drivers installed, BIOS updated to the latest version of Bluetooth does not work nor appeared already in the Device Manager.
Bluetooth is enabled in the BIOS and the Bluetooth service in Windows Services but no change. Deactivation and reactivation in the BIOS (with several reboots) was also without success.
I tried the official driver from Broadcom, also, but the pilot could not even detect my bluetooth device.
Recently, I've upgraded to Windows 10 to see if it solves the problem but still no change. I installed the official driver of Lenovo Bluetooth. The installation was quick and successful, but still no bluetooth, after all.
I think I've tried all the possible solutions, but there is still no Bluetooth in the Windows Device Manager.
What could possibly do now?

I transformed my Helix in a partner of Lenovo service and found it was missing the Bluetooth device. The same problem.
I had an agreement with the reatiler so they will order a corresponding with Lenovo Bluetooth module and install in my Helix free. Problem seems solved :-)

I got actually work once - can't remember where the driver came - and then pushed hp a new driver ralink and it is not worked since even though I tried several things, including the direct download of mediatek. I have a Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter and just need a driver that works. I think I have about 4 separate batteries bluetooth now - can be part of the problem - but the most recent came from hp. help, anyone?
solved myself. disabled norton antivirus and firewall and reinstalled and it worked. Hooray!
