Therre are three more errors that I have will omit for bevity. I restarted my computer and it is lacking in the recommended disk check and delete several entries...

The updates caused a questions? What could have triggered this?

May I take with these deleted entries that my computer is ok?

    Thank you

    Hi Alex,

This problem can occur if the update would have changed the parameters of indexation.

Try the following and see if it helps.

    Method 1:

Check if the search Windows service is turned on.

    a. Click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.
    b. double-click Windows Search.
    c. set its startup type to automatic.
    d. set the service state to started.
    e. click OK. Check if it helps.

    Method 2:

I suggest you to rebuild indexes and check if it helps

Rebuilding the index can take several hours, and searches may be incomplete until the index is completely rebuilt.

    a. indexing by clicking the Start button, open the Options and then on Control Panel. In the search box, type indexing options, and then click Indexing Options.

    b. click Advanced. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    (c) in the Advanced Options dialog box, click the index settings tab and then click rebuild. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Method 3:

I suggest you to scan Run System File Checker (SFC) tool and check if this may help.

The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    Hi PA bear

Thank you for your interest for my problem. Another long session of trial and error on this issue. I tried different solutions offer after having read a few other answers users forum, tried to find PowerShell in the M/S Download Center but failed in the present. At the end of the day, I gave up and disconnected.

I started my PC this morning and found that M/S Windows 7 has set its self, so Windows Update now as it should. What was wrong with Windows for 24 hours? I got a popup saying there had been a failure, and a report was compiled and sent to M/S.

I tried to reload the McAfee security software but failed, which resulted in an email exchange with a member of the McAfee technical support team that took control of my keyboard and mouse. I noticed that it resets the default values for the original settings and remove the history of Solution Explorer. After these adjustments, I was able to reload the McAfee security software and fortunately my PC is protected and that it works correctly.

What was the problem with M/S Windows 7 on this occasion is a mystery to me, I thought for a moment that I had picked up a virus. I don't think that this report will be of value to other users?

  • Updates to Windows, computer stops working

This morning Windows automatically updated (Windows XP), and now it's freezing in different places. Apparently randomly, it will freeze:

    • On the login screen. I can't click on the name of connection.
    • On the password page. I click on a name and the password appears, but I can't type out there.
    • At the level of the office. I enter the password, and the desktop but no icons and no taskbar.
    • On the normal screen. Icons and task bar appear, but as soon as I click on the 'Start' button and it freezes.

I any case, I have to restart the computer by pressing the power - no work Alt/Ctrl/Del button.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Take a look in the system and Application logs in the errors and warnings event viewer and post here the copies. Do not post on that more than 48 hours ago.

You can access event viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel, administrative tools, and Event Viewer. When searching for the meaning of the error, information about the event ID, Source and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of error reports! Run Event Viewer and double-click the error you want to copy. You will see a button resembling two pages. Click on the button and close Event Viewer. This places a copy of the report to your Clipboard. Paste it into the body of your message. Make sure that it is the first dough right out of the event viewer.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    Method 1.
Let us scan SFC and check that it prevents this error to occur.
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file.
To do this, follow these steps:
    a. open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click programs, accessories principally made, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.
    b. type the following command and press ENTER:
    sfc/scannow
The sfc/scannow command. analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

More information on SFC scan found in this document:

    Method 2.
    a. also, you can try again user account if the problem is resolved.
    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

    b. If the problem does not occur in the new account user set your user account damaged. The steps to fix the corrupt user account are given below.

  • Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working. Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.

Original title: Windows 7 Pro 64, windows update/Defender/firewall has stopped working.

I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit installed, after the time of my last updated 31/7, my windows update has stopped working, and no so Windows defender and firewall.  Firewall gives me error 0x6d9. Defender gives me 0 x 80070424.  Update Windows to 7.31 was an update of the Defender, however, windows update will not give me the option to uninstall this update because the Defender has completely disappeared from the prompt that allows you to choose which puts up-to-date to uninstall. Is it possible to manually remove somewhere else?

I ran SFC/scannow and I WAB32res.dll has been altered, so I copied the file on my windows 7 CD for 64 Professional (from program files/common files) and copied and replace my program.files/common files one.  I restarted the SFC and the same error occurred.  I had 5 errors like this:

2012-08-03 19:15:59, 000002fb CSI Info [SR] cannot repair the military record [l:24 {12}] "wab32res.dll" Microsoft-Windows-WAB-Core, Version 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 = (9), the Culture neutral, VersionScope is 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, type neutral, TypeName neutral, neutral to the public key in the store, hash mismatch. "

I also ran Microsoft Safety Scanner Scanner, he finds 16 errors and fixed them (I saved the names), but even after I reset the computer my Windows Update/Defender/firewall STILL does not work!

Anyone have any ideas? Especially how to fix 'wab32res.dll"maybe that I recorded it in the wrong place?

I noticed there is one in each 'program folder' folder (program files x 86 and regular for 64 bit).  Is also wab32res.dll somewhere in system32?

If necessary you can perform in SafeMode with network - repeatedly F8 tap that you start.

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - Device Manager - Display Adapter - note the brand and complete model of your
video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now click on UPdate Driver (this
cannot do anything as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then do a right click - Uninstall - REBOOT
This will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party with their

Now go to the site of the manufacturer of system (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) (restoration) and then of the manufacturer of the device
(Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for the BIOS, Chipset and software)
updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - tab drivers version you install actually shows up. This
because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (particularly that audio drivers) so install a

Vista and Windows 7 updated drivers love then here's how update the most important.

This is my generic how updates of appropriate driver:

This utility, it is easy see which versions are loaded:

-Free - DriverView utility displays the list of all device drivers currently loaded on your system.
For each driver in the list, additional useful information is displayed: load address of the driver,
Description, version, product name, company that created the driver and more.
    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/DriverView.html

For drivers, visit manufacturer of emergency system and of the manufacturer of the device that are the most common.
Control Panel - device - Graphics Manager - note the brand and complete model
your video card - double - tab of the driver - write version information. Now, click on update
Driver (this can do nothing as MS is far behind the certification of drivers) - then right-click.
Uninstall - REBOOT it will refresh the driver stack.

Repeat this for network - card (NIC), Wifi network, sound, mouse, and keyboard if 3rd party
with their own software and drivers and all other main drivers that you have.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Always check in the Device Manager - drivers tab to be sure the version you actually install
presents itself. This is because some restore drivers before the most recent is installed (sound card drivers
in particular that) so to install a driver - reboot - check that it is installed and repeat as
    necessary.

Repeat to the manufacturers - BTW in the DO NOT RUN THEIR SCANNER device - check
    manually by model.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver under Windows
Updates, that leaves about Windows updates but it will not install the drivers that will be generally
older and cause problems. If updates offers a new driver and then HIDE it (right click on it), then
get new manually if you wish.

Looks like your system is good enough corupted.  I backup my data and restore the computer to factory settings.  The procedure for this varies from a make and model to another, but should be in the documentation for your computer.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.
