XPS M1210 - no sound

DISREGARD THIS MESSAGE *.

I found the answer, and it was a problem of Windows Vista is not a problem of Dell.

I disabled impulsively one of the reading devices in Windows Vista, and now I cannot hear sound through the internal speakers of my laptop OR through speakers connected to the computer via the headphone Sockets. I don't know WHAT I disabled because it was a few weeks ago and I thought when I need to enable it again once he'd be here. EVIL. It is more listed in Device Manager.

 

The Sigma Tel HD Audio CODEC is listed and works very well. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers of devices for which it has not fixed the problem.

 

Speakers have gone very well that running the diagnostics in back is proven.

I can hear his fine with my Logitech headset that connects via the USB port.

Any ideas?

    Problem solved I downgrade from Vista Ultimate, download the drivers and all works correctly, the camera now works perfectly, I guess that logitech has not come with drivers for Windows 7...

  • Upgrade HD for XPS M1210 (Media Direct)

    I read the whole forum, however I have still no answer to my question:

    Is it possible to upgrade my XPS M1210 installed HD (Hitachi Travelstar 80 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA) to a new and more BIG HD (Samsung HM 320JI, 320 GB, 5400 RPM, SATA)?

    I've read several threats on the problem with HD Dell Media Direct partition, but I have not found a solution.

    What I've done so far: changed HDs, (backup and restore with Acronis True Image Enterprise Server 9.1).

    The new HD works, but the System (BIOS) does not like a 320 HD, he still thinks that the HD has the same size as the old one (80 GB less a couple of GB).

    If there is no way to upgrade to a Dell laptop, there is no reason to buy Dell!

    Hello, I have a laptop XPS M1210, running Vista Home Ultimate with his SigmelTel card. I'm unable to play any device that is plugged into the line-in socket through the M1210 speakers. I've seen this hack on the ' net if I go to regedit and look for the 'EnableInputMonitor' key, then it will work.   • Help pls - speakers but no sound

    Hi people, am on a XPS M1210.

    Was doin some line by saving the other day, and in the course of this process, I had to make changes to the settings of the sound, due to the fact that there is a built-in webcam and microphone, and when I was recording via line - in Recorder picked up the MIC on the webcam and not the one plugged into the mic jack.

    In any case since the speakers on the laptop have stopped working, but when I have headphones plugged into the sound is fine.  all - I keep getting presented with such Sigma window whenever I plug in the headphones. It's never happened before.

    Any suggestions?

    Most likely, there is not enough power for the USB port of your machine to the external device do recognize. As a test I would have you test the issue on another USB plug.
