Y at - it a shortcut to ADJUST Audio levels/gain?

I really miss my 'set in 1 or 3 db' hotkeys in FCP7.  I can't find something similar in first Pro CC - anyone know of a way to quickly resolve individual clips in small increments with a keyboard shortcut?

Thank you

For 'Volume' in the search box type keyboard shortcuts.

  • iMovie - set audio levels manually extracted

I think remember when I learned to use iMovie for years that there was a way, after extracting audio from a clip, to manually adjust audio levels in the clip. So if there were a few places in the video where the audio to be more or less than I wanted to, I could do by dragging the level a little line upwards or downwards. Is it possible to do it in iMovie ' 09? Or is the only option to change the audio level for the entire clip? I know it's possible discolor or fade out, but I'm looking for more specific control.

You can still do.   Place the cursor on the line of horizontal volume of the audio clip, and then Option/click on it.   That will place a small point on the line

You can go up and down to change the volume.   You can place several points along the line of volume, where you can adjust the

volume at specific locations in the video.

  • Y at - it a keyboard shortcut to raise the audio level upwards or downwards by a 1db?

In Final Cut Pro, you can select a single item, or a track or group of clips, and press on the + or - button to increase or decrease the volume of the clip, 1 dB at each tap, so you can quickly make this slight change in the volume of perhaps a music or voice to follow and quickly see how it changes the relationship between the music and the voice , or something similar.

I know that you can manually change the audio levels of clips in Premiere Pro by pulling on the audio lines..., I know you can navigate VIDEO - AUDIO OPTIONS and punch in a db of change as well, but none of these options are are fast as CONTROL + or - to continue to see how 1db upward or downward change affects balance.

Is there a keyboard equivalent in Premiere Pro?  Thanks in advance for your help.

In CC, there are a few new shortcuts for "Clip Volume"... Finally!

They go by increments of 1 dB or 6db. I would prefer 3db, but better than nothing.

UPDATE: in fact, in preferences > Audio, you can adjust "Volume off." Yay!

REALLY? ON THE FIRST GENERATION OF THE F5/55, GO TO THE MENU INSIDE TO ADJUST THE AUDIO LEVELS.

    COME ON SONY... DIFFICULTY THAT!

I got imagaine; Press the button to THE / TC, select channel 1 or 2, and then use the select button to adjust the levels. Please don't not black the viewfinder/HDMI, display sup - sdi with an overlay of menu based on what is happening if we can adjust levels while driving. Side panel only if entered with the button to THE / TC, overlay menu if entered in the menu. The two up-down assignable button is a good idea, make an option, not the only way to control.

85 dB is a level of calibration of the monitor. Use a meter of SPL (C-weighted/slow) with pink noise to perform this task. It is not something that is defined during mixing or exit. Loudness Radar is a sound level meter software. It includes templates and Visual representations to program Loudness, short temporary term Loudness, Loudness and Loudness Range (LRA). There is also an indicator of True Peak exceeded. Add this at the end of you point out the string for a precise measurement of your mix. Note to determine an exact indication of the program Loudness, the audio segment must be measured in its entirety.

  • Incoming audio levels can be adjusted for digital video capture in Premiere Pro?

Incoming audio levels can be adjusted for digital video capture in Premiere Pro?  Or is the audio in digital images a fixed entity that cannot be adjusted once it is imported into an editing software?  Recently, I have captured 14 hours the Strip that constantly weak but usable audio levels.  I couldn't see a way to set audio levels in the capture Panel, so I just left with just the default settings.

It is possible that the lessee of his experience on the production has been conservative with its levels; they constantly peaking at nearly 9 meters of first, instead of more desirable 12.  But because they are so compatible, I wonder if I missed an option to set audio capture of levels when I did the band.

  • Changes in audio level

I'm working on a project of multi camera.

1 he acquired the audio master. In the timeline panel, I open the three camera angles and adjusted audio cam 1 to about-6dB. When I collapse the angles of camera on the timeline to edit I find audio cam 1goes well in the red.

I also tried to export the audio Logic x. Once in the logic I updated again audio about-6dB. When I send the logic x file in FCPX again the sound levels are back in the red.

Could there be a problem with the meters in FCPX?

No problems experienced with this in FCPX.  What version of FCPX are you using?  I would fix the audio in the project timeline levels when I start my edit.

  • Change the audio level of many clips in the browser?

I have 1000 or more clips in these images of GoPro project, cameras, and selects music, with many clips that have audio very strong especially the GoPro mounted on the vehicles off the road as they motor at high speed through obstacles. My edit in place includes 20/20 speakers, and even though I have a moderate level of audio that is configured for editing when I select images in the browser that has strong audio I need to stop and lower this clip in the browser at once and he eats a precious time.

Is it possible to change the audio level in many clips selected in the browser?

    Select the clips.

Go to the Clip > Audio Options > Audio Gain

When the Gain Audio pane opens, set Adjust Gain of: -12

Click OK. You can experiment on a clip or two to see if this gain reduction is too much or not enough for you.

  • Premiere Pro timeline change audio level

    Hello

I was re-encoding of a bunch of old masters XDCAM the last two days and discovered an interesting problem. When you drag a channel 8 XDCAM MXF in the panel mounting Premiere Pro replaces the audio level of the clip.

I made this little video showing the problem...

Is this a bug or I do something wrong?

    Thank you

    Best,

    Kristian

    Kristian,

This has to with the audio "right pan." This happens when a mono channel is panned Center. To see your appropriate levels, you need to either pan your tracks or to adapt the law to pan. (i.e. panning your first piece of your bars all the way left and right channel all the way to the right in the mixer once you let fall on the timeline and see if your levels do not fall back to-12.)

I'm not at my post, and I'm never my audio first, so I don't know if it's adjustable in first. But in applications audio as Nuendo, this can be set by the user (right pan 0, - 3db + 3db, etc.) so that levels read correctly for the workflow.

Maybe someone who is all their audio data in first to their position or fact can tell you how to adjust it. But this should give you an idea of what's going on.

  • Melted how audio and keep the audio level in clips later

I have piloted PE 10.  When I add keyframes manually to fade audio output, or simply select the option ' fade out ' to fade at the end of an audio clip, the audio ends at the end of the clip and the audio of the following clips is to initial level.  This creates a large discontinuity to the noise level.

What happens if I want to the next clip or clips to continue in the same faded audio level, rather than start at their original level.

In Pinnacle Studio, for example, when you fade down audio, all audio to the right will be adjusted to match the level after the fade, as long as there are no keyframes forward of this final key-frame fade.  Now that I'm getting 10 EP, I'm bored of this behavior.

In PE10, there is a sequence of keys which allow this behavior?

If you have only one or a few Clips, where you want to reduce the Volume, I do so at the level of the Clip and simply adjust the fixed effect (appears automatically on all the audio Clips), and add keyframes to adjust the Volume.

I find it easier since the effect controls panel, accessible by selecting the Clip you want to adjust, and then in the effects tab, choose Edit effects.

Lets say you have a Clip, where the majority of the Volume is just, but there is a section where you want to turn it down. Go to where you want the Volume to start to get lower, add a keyframe (toggle ON keyframes), then go to where you want the Volume restore the main value and add another keyframe. At this point, nothing has changed, but you added two key frames, which "held" the Volume at the current level. Now, go where you want the Volume to its lowest, to the right of the first keyframe that we added. Add another. Adjust the level to this keyframe (now the second in the Clip) to what you want. Go where you want the Volume first on the rise, just before the second keyframe that you added (now third), and add another keyframe. Adjust so that it matches the Volume you settled in what is now the second keyframe. You will have four key frames: the first, one that keeps the Volume at the beginning of the Clip, the second, which allows to adjust the Volume to its setting, the third, which corresponds to the Volume of the second, then the fourth, keeping the Volume at the level of the initial until the end of the Clip. It will look like this:

Some like to do the with the "rubberbands" Keyframing in the Clip itself, but I like the effect controls panel.

In addition, keyframes that we added, are linear and if you want to adjust the Interpolation, the smoother changes just Rt-click on each keyframe, to adjust the Interpolation. Interpolation is a little abstract, so I suggest to read the help files on Bezier curves on keyframes.

    Good luck

  • Compression of dynamic range to set audio levels of people who speak at training meetings

I know almost nothing about audio manipulation, but I recently started recording sessions of training for my company. Some people microphones while others do not. The tool that I got is the latest version of Adobe Audition. Is it possible for me to get easily all talk at the same level, so that people don't constantly put their volume up and down while watching?

Well, you can use the dynamic processing to equalize the levels, but according to the differences between the voices (and some with microphones, others without sounds pretty drastic), you may not be happy with the results.

You will find the desired effects/Amplitude and Compression/Dynamics treatment effect.  I'm afraid that's not the kind of thing where you can simply call a "Preset" and make it work the first time.  You will need to set the various parameters to control the threshold and the ratio of the effect to achieve the best results.

For quick and dirty, it might work.  However the other thing to consider is manually adjust the levels on the fly.  Using volume envelopes you can change the levels by ear to adapt each piece to sound as good as possible.  This seems tedious, but once you get your hand, you can probably do the workout together faster than real-time.

  • Best audio level for export to DVD

When audio mixing, it is normally preferable to resolve the points of volume for just below 0 db.  When I mix the audio this strong for a DVD I can hear occasional distortion on some players.  Hard to adjust the audio level of peaks in your programs?  Have you noticed a similar problem?

Make sure that all of the counters in the Audio Mixer Panel do not hit red...

Green is good with a little yellow.

If you wish, you can decrease your main track at-3dB.

  • Get consistent audio levels

I have ben to do a family film on the year for the last 7 years. I'm just an amateur, but I'm a little bit better. This year I really want to improve my skills on audio.  I know the basics, like the volume control for individual items, a beach in a clip of setting and so on, let never greater than 0 db noise and so on. What I would really like some help with is how to get consistent noise levels. What I mean is this: Let's say that I have 30 clips in my calendar, I select all and set the audio to-6 db. Even if the clips now how the same audio level, clips are noisy, and some are low. What I have to go through each item and set - if so what I'd be looking to make all points to the decibel even? Use the waveforms and my eyes and try to align the shapes so that they are at the same level, or is there a simpler solution?

-No hear/see the chronology of first hand, we can only give limited advice.  But now.

-Each clip is saved to its own level of gain.  Some are recorded louder than the others.  0 dB means simply the level of this specific "native" clips  The gain setting on all at-6 change each clip-6 dB, it doesn't make them not all limited to-6db.  This is called a limiter filter.  So, if you want to limit each clip compared with - 3db (never press 0, stay below to about - 3 dB max), apply a limiter.

-Do not rely on the airwaves of the timeline, they are not absolute, but relative approximations.  Go by the counters, and then by the ears.

-Compressor filter would go a long way to limit upper and lower levels, both win.  Where a limiter limits only the higher gain level.  Beware, a compressor to reduce the dynamic range.  This means that the quiet parts and hard parts approach is at the same level, which causes an artificial sound production.

-For the application of filters for all clips at once, with the same settings, apply to the first clip.  Copy this clip.  Select all the other clips in the timeline panel.  Use the paste attributes to put in all the other clips.  OR, put all the clips in a compound Clip, apply your effects, keyframes, filters for this compound, to all media at the same time.

-Actually, a professional like me, takes time to work each clip, or absolute similar clips individually, groups for best results.  Any button 'make fast all at once' will achieve inferior results.

-Here is a link to the logic manual that explains all the audio effects that are both logic and Final Cut Pro X.  Some very good information here.
