Yahoo diversion FF

When I search I get a Bing page with the results of the search (for example try "fatal crew"), but when I click on the first result (wreckingcrew.tv), FF takes me to the correct page for a second then this page disappears and I'm on a Yahoo Search page. When I click on the vertical input, which is wreckingcrew.tv, I get a new tab which is once more a Yahoo Search page, now labeled "DNS Solution Yahoo Error Handler". Also, the search term has been changed to "images bio demolition crew. This new page has a lot of other links for wrecking crew, but has more a direct link to the correct site. This just started happening today (24 March) on my MacBook Air as I started to run 36.0.4. I changed the homepage of Bing and Yahoo removed from the search engine list but no help. Other sites do not have this behavior. The other thing is, sometimes, when this happens, the default search engine FF gets changed to Yahoo, even though I explicitly Yahoo DELETED from the list of search engines.

It makes me NUTS! There is no problem in Safari, but I hate Safari.

I have downloaded and installed firefox 10 times and uninstalled 9 times. I don't need another, but this is what I get every time I have to install firefox. Mozilla firefox used to be 1 of the browsers that I relied on Web sites of access which are dedicated to the site and are not accessible by bing, google, google chrome, yahoo, msn or internet explorer. I have all these browsers installed and hand on my tab bar. Firefox is the only one that is hijacked by yahoo. Fix it and explain how I solve this problem please. Thanks in advance, robert...

Thanks to everyone who tried to help with this problem of diversion of yahoo. I took all of the recommendations to the task, however, none of this was successful. After having almost given up on firefox after the 14th download I accidentally discovered the cure. with the logo of firefox in my taskbar, I clicked on it to launch the 'yahoo' once again, but ran in the topleft corner click the firefox tab b-4, he disappeared into the micro seconds. Can't do. but accidentally, I dragged yahoo down to reveal the logo of firefox tab and was able to rightclick access to modules! success for disable yahoo toolbar, but that still does not eliminate the dominance of yahoo. to do that simply finding firefox with bing on a Web site, download, install and success. now, I click on the firefox logo on my taskbar, and yahoo is longgone. It is 28.0 in all its glory with the horny Fox rubs the center globe screen. Thanks once more to all those who tried to help. • Deleting emails, mail approx. records even Clears Yahoo on computer?

Given that the content of Mail takes a lot of space, I want to delete a large number of emails and files (the same that exists on Yahoo mail). I just want to be sure that their deletion on the mail app won't also erase them from Yahoo on my computer.

    Hey CloudsRestWalk,

Thank you for being a part of the communities of Apple Support.

I see that you're wondering about the impact of the removal of the mail files on your e-mail account.  Everything depends on whether or not the mail files are saved on your Mac, or if they are part of Yahoo.  In the Mail sidebar, you should see the label above the folder list.  If she says "on my Mac" then the emails in that folder are stored on your Mac, and delete the folder should not affect what you see on the webmail of Yahoo.  On the other hand, if the label says "Yahoo" then the folders are on the mail server itself, and remove them will remove them from Yahoo email servers.

For assistance with freeing up storage space, then take a look at the information in this link:

Mail for Mac: free up the storage space for an e-mail account

    Take care.

  • Messages does not connect to the Yahoo IM account?

Messages app v9.2, currently works very well with my Google account and iMessage, also worked with my Yahoo Messenger account, but recently (today?) does not connect to it.

I know that Yahoo has made changes to their Instant Messaging System. This change affected only Messages?

    Hello

    I can't connect either (I didn't realize that I do not use)

However going on the Yahoo Site and change the password does nothing.

With the help of their option 'insecure Apps' does nothing no more (there was an email saying I was using access to messaging through an unsafe application - but I have not used their messaging service for a very long time.)

It does say read more suggests, is not Mail (after OS X 10.9 is OK)

He does not on access to their e-mail service.

There is no option in Messages to try to activate disable SSL you can with AIM or Jabber accounts

I have looked in the help (a little) but still found nothing.

  • Yahoo account question

Yes, I understand these are the Apple support forums, but I don't know where else to ask this question and I thought some of you would have the answer to this question.

I deleted my Yahoo account last week, but I've heard that the 500 million Yahoo accounts were hacked in 2014. I made my account in 2015. Im sure it is hacked since I made my account a year after the supposed hack, but if my account has been hacked and I deleted which would be safe?

If your account did not exist in 2014, then it is has not been hacked. Removal of the guarantees it will not be new since there was more pirate. Normally, at least the hackers got access to more information in the narrative, as credit card numbers, change your Yahoo password would have sufficed.

  • Cannot change my Yahoo password on iPhone

Because of piracy on yahoo, I changed my password on Yahoo mail.  However, even after I changed my password on my computer, yahoo mail is still coming thru on my iPhone.

In addition, in the Yahoo parameters, it does not give option mail, calendars, change the password.  Someone can you please explain why this is happening and how can I fix?  I noticed the same problem with Gmail e-mail.

    Please help thanks

  • Sierra Mac OS and iOS 10 constantly ask Yahoo password

MBP retina end 2013, macOS Sierra 10.12

    iPad Air, iOS 10.0.2

    iPhone 6 s, iOS 10.0.2

Since the upgrade my MBP and iPhone, iPad to Sierra/iOS10 respectively, all three devices ask me to return my password in Yahoo account on a daily basis or any other day.  My password is brand new and valid (please, not Yahoo, laughing, it is account 15 year and liked) and is accepted immediately, although it is considered a new sign in and I get the corresponding alert in all of my email accounts.  I'm just sick of constantly having to enter it.  Any ideas?

I just wanted to say that I have the same problem.

  • delete yahoo search

How can I remove yahoo search when I opened a new tab in safari?

What you set as your search engine in Safari/Preferences/search?

Try to go to Safari/Preferences/Extensions and disable all extensions. Quit Safari, reopen and see if the site will now load with your desired search engine. If so, enable the extensions one or two at a time until you find which extension is causing the problem.

  • Yahoo search in Safari engine even if Google is selected

Safari uses the Yahoo search engine in spite of the fact that Google is selected in the preferences. It is a problem a couple of years and the solutions were incredibly complex and one I don't know they would be still applicable. OS X is El Capitan 10.11.6. Sierra upgrade would solve this problem?

Try disabling all extensions Safari Safari/preferences/extensions. Test. If it works, turn on the extensions one by one until you identify the problem.

  • Mail cannot connect to iCloud/Yahoo

Hi all, as I've had this problem of messaging with El Capitan, I was hoping that after the installation of Sierra it would be fixed, unfortunately not. So I deleted Internet all accounts, shutdown and restarted. I started the Mail and selected Yahoo e-mail accounts and continued from there, hoping that all the necessary parameters would be loaded automatically. Mail has expired. So I ran connection doctor and the journal suggests the Yahoo SMTP connection was successful, Yahoo IMAP failed with the message to check the preferences of account/SSL etc.

So I restarted Mail and selected iCloud mail accounts and Mail has expired again. Logs show the SMTP and IMAP for iCloud failed for the same reasons as Yahoo, but I have no problem with an account by logging in from Safari.

When I go to "Edit" the two iC; Oud and Yahoo accounts/server settings and select "Edit SMTP servers list", there is nothing to select/list. If anyone has any ideas or solutions on how to operate the Mail it would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe it's not the solution to your problem, but there's a quirk with yahoo and desktop e-mail clients explained here:

    connection http://support.Context.IO/hc/en-US/Articles/212087606-Yahoo-s-less-Secure-app-se

From what I understand, it's more about Yahoo is trying to force the use of its iOS applications and web portal rather than really relaxed security. I have no problem setting up a yahoo mail account after you make this change.

  • No option to change the password for Gmail/Yahoo mail

Updated for Sierra and want to change your Gmail and Yahoo mail password, but the interface has changed and I don't see any option for their setting in preferences/Server Mail or Internet accounts settings.

    What is going on?

Open Keychain Access and find the entries for these accounts. Either, remove them will cause Mail to ask you for the password or change the entry to provide the new password.

To change, double-click the entry, and then click the show password check box. Enter your user account password (or password in Keychain so you changed it).

I did the most recent iOS 10 updated, just heard on the news that Yahoo has been hacked.  I changed my password to Yahoo mail but can't find the field to change the password on my devices.  It is simply not there, what is happening?

For some reason any change automatically if change you it online. Today, I changed my password through my office and I went to change the mail and she had already changed.

You can try to delete your account your unit off and add it again.

  • IMAP Yahoo problem with macOS Sierra

    Salvation and for reading.

After having upgraded to Mac OS Sierra, I got the following surprises:

All my IMAP from Yahoo email account are not synchronized more when stocks are made on my mac.

IE: if I delete an email on my iPhone, it is deleted on the mac aswell. If I delete an email on my mac, this email remains on the iPhone as no action has been taken.

Of course, it's a big problem because I get tons of emails that I proceeded normally on my mac.

    Any help please?

In fact, I noticed that this happens with gmail as well - and all accounts except iCloud, which works properly...
