Yahoo Mail & Security Essentials

I mail to yahoo for the wrong parameter as my default email, now that I've installed Microsoft security essentials.  He is not one of the available options - just Outlook, Outlook Express, Hotmail, etc.  I am running XP.  I use Explorer, just do not know what version - probably an older version.  I get an Assistant to help set up a new connection and am not sure how to answer the questions set yahoo mail as my default.  Thank you.

  • Message "Connection not secure" HTTPS when you view the yahoo mail website in firefox

I have a recurring problem with the yahoo mail page reported that the HTTPS connection is not safe. The Green lock becomes gray with yellow padlock symbol as soon as I open an email.

    He reports that:
The site contains content that is not safe.

I can see Web site to yahoo mail on IE without problem, but all too so I have zero problems with any other HTTPS site seen via firefox.
It seems that there is some specific problem with yahoo mail on firefox and I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this problem.

I played a bit with turning off Add ons, no effect.

Hello, this will result in emails that integrate the content loaded via a connection http (as an image). the gray lock with the yellow warning always means that the data that you view and enter the site are secure and only passed on to yahoo. Firefox may be more proactive you warning about it than other browsers.

You can also configure firefox to block the loading of http-elements such as images in another way encrypted https-site - then the Green lock should always stay in place on your mail:
enter on: config in the address bar of firefox (confirmed the message information where it appears) and search for the preference named security.mixed_content.block_display_content. Double-click it and change its value to true.

  • Why internet security avg check my yahoo mail

    Team dear Microsoft Answers

Am writing to you today because I'm confused how such a safety concern as this could happen and I think I've seen this more than once.

I am getting to the bottom of the mail sent to tell me how the mail had been checked by AVG Internet Security

(> > No virus found in this post.)
    > > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com
    (> > Version: 2012.0.1913 / Virus Database: 2112/4815 - Release Date: 17/02/12)

I do not understand why, when I uninstalled AVG a long time ago and also delete all the files that are hidden from the Local 'C' drive

I had at one time gave AVG installed on this laptop, but for a very short time.

I've seen this before, but it seems that from my Yahoo email account and only this one, I have two and this account is one of my first.

the address is: * address email is removed from the privacy *

I will write to Yahoo, AVG and Kaspersky about this, too, but it made me wonder if there is a link lingering on my laptop or is it in one of my files.

I hope I can get advice on this above statement.

    Yours Sincerely

    JTValerie

If you use 'Yahoo mail' as you say, then you are probably there access with a web browser. Is this the case?

I suspect that the sender of the messages using AVG scan his outgoing mail and attests that she (a waste of time, by the way) and you see what their computer system added to the post, not something to be added on your end.  Just to be safe, however, use the AVG Remover (found here: http://www.avg.com/us-en/utilities) to ensure that AVG is completely out of your system.  Antivirus programs do their best to prevent being uninstalled, and often the Add/Remove programs of control panel uninstall program does not have a complete work.

  • Layout of biased e-mail. Failed to open an email. Windows Vista Home Basic. Installed Microsoft Security Essentials.

When you open the e-mail, the arrow cursor has the blue circle that runs continuously.  There are some letters lapping on the e-mail page.   No old or new emails cannot be opened.   Two weeks ago, I installed Microsoft Security Essentials and this problem has been resolved until today; the same problem to access old e-mail is back.

Try to compact and repair the database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).   Then in security essentials exclude the eml files of research (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3), because this results in a mismatch between the WinMail database and what is actually in the message store, generating problems such as you see.

See if that fixes the problem.  You can also try to remove your e-mail account and then closing and reopening of Winmail opener and then add it again.  See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for information about the message from WinMail store organization.

  • Firefox decides suddenly to Yahoo mail is not secure, what ideas wonderful firefox there that no other browser has?

Firefox hits again... slow as hell all day not yahoo mail is suddenly precarious... only on firefox. Certificate of rail in July. It's a firefox problem. Please don't say no it's yahoo while you work to fix it like last time... Admit it. Who quit to Firefox? the last three months have been horrible... I'm about to give up hope on your browser. and go to google - I hate but maybe they can actually follow their browser running. Worse it party firefox never admits questions... always the user of the other site. Somehow, I doubt that firefox is so sharp that they're ahead of google or IE in remote sensing of dangerous changes on major sites like Yahoo... you can't even keep firefox work...

When you fix your site then yahoo mail is usable? Please don't insult me again telling me to lower the level of protection... so your error can't...

Hi pineappleseller, Firefox is opposed to a site certificate, it indicates that Firefox cannot validate the certificate that was presented in trying to connect. Yahoo knows how to operate a secure server, so probably that the explanation is that this certificate is not real. This can be caused by some security software, a proxy or malware.

It sounds as if you were able to view the certificate. What info is displayed for the transmitter? I have attached a screenshot for comparison.

If the problem is not that you get a certificate error, but you get this icon of mixed content warning-

-This is just a warning. This is probably because a message was not securely integrated images. More info in this article: mixed in Firefox content blocking.

  • Why can I receive e-mail but not create or respond to them after installation of microsoft security essentials.

I got a message saying that outlook express must be reconfigured.

In OE go to file | Identities and setup a new identity.  Add your email account and see if it works very well.  If so, then go to file | Import | Messages to bring them from the old identity.  In security essentials go to settings and disable the file as dbx type analysis.

  • Yahoo mail gives unreliable connection error

When I log into Yahoo mail on Firefox 40.0.3 (on Windows 7) on my laptop provided by company, I get this message:
"You asked Firefox to connect safely to we - mg5.mail.yahoo.com, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure."

    I can't create an exception:
"This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate. »

    "Technical details" section states:
"we - mg5.mail.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate.".
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
The server may not send the appropriate intermediate certificates.
A certificate of origin additional should be imported. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer) »

Happening at home, so the mobile society has something to do with it, but, even on the phone company, I don't have this problem when you use Chrome, is not that the company does not have access outside mail.

On Firefox, the problem is intermittent. Sometimes, there are no problems and everything works fine.
Clear the cookies/history/cache and restarting does not solve the problem. Sometimes goes his own for some time, he returned.

I searched on each database, I was able to find answers, but still found no solution. The computer's clock is correct, I don't use Avast, etc. (certain other situations I ran everywhere).

I hope I can get this resolved, because I would rather continue to use FF, which I've used for years to switch to Chrome.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Sorry, I could have been uncertain. An important detail that I realize there would not have been obvious unless you looked very closely the first screenshot. The certificate you want to export is the one above the certificate of Yahoo in the dialog box, the certificate of proxy who vouch for the false certificate of Yahoo. That one will be important?

  • Yahoo mail does not load in the new version of FF!

Since the new version of FF (40.0.2) I can not open yahoo mail. I have try to disable noscript and adblock, but nothing. In old portable version of FF 33 site works very well. Can you tell me what wrong and why new FF disable access to yahoo mail?

First of all, a common problem faced by users with Yahoo! mail is that Yahoo changed their server. If you are using an old bookmark or the old address of the homepage to access your e-mail, try to use this more general address so that if your server has changed, you redirected to the new servers:

    https://mail.Yahoo.com/

If this makes no difference, here are some general things to try:

When you have a problem with a particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clear your Firefox cache and delete your cookies for the site.

    (1) delete the Cache of Firefox

See: How to clear the cache of Firefox

Note: If you have a large hard drive, it may take a few minutes.

    (2) remove the cookies from the site (waiting for work save first). While displaying a page on yahoo.com, try either:

    • Right-click the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies".
    • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > 'view the Cookies '.
    • Click on the globe or padlock icon in the address bar > additional information > "View Cookies".

In the dialog box that opens, you can delete cookies from the site individually.

Then change the address at the top of this dialog from yahoo.com to mail.yahoo.com to see if there are cookies to clear any extra.

Then try to reload the page and sign in again. Workstation?

If this doesn't help, could test you mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable some advanced features of Firefox and extensions. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Does not work if Firefox: Hold down the SHIFT key when you start Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

    and OK reboot.

Two scenarios: A small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not update).

    Any improvement?

  • problem with yahoo mail on firefox 30.0

A few days ago a different version (and apparently much earlier) Yahoo mail appeared on my 30.0 FF browser. It is not working properly, but there is no way to change the settings. A link to "Switch to the new Yahoo Mail", but it does not work. Can I still use yahoo mail on IE, but not on FF. I tried the usual bugs (opening FF in safe mode, disabling modules, clear the cache, etc.) without success.

Hi Dennis, for what it's worth, Yahoo mail looks normal to me in Firefox 30.

Have you noticed any problems with secure sites (HTTPS) since this problem has begun, such has duty to make exceptions, or not properly apply styles or lack of features?

  • YAHOO MAIL SHOWS 14 TEMPORARY ERROR IN FIREFOX?

Receipt 'Temporary error 14' days now? I followed the "Workaround" for Yahoo Mail signing, clear the cache and cookies, restarting my web browser and signing in my Yahoo Mail several times with no success? Other members of the family are able to connect to their Yahoo email using the same computer without problem? I use Firefox 28.0! I can't connect to a computer to friends with chrome?

Make a check of malware with several malware scanning of programs on the Windows computer.

Please scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program.

All of these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before scanning.

Alternatively, you can write a check for an infection rootkit TDSSKiller.

  • Cannot manage Yahoo mail with Firefox

On Dell with Windows Vista Home wife, Yahoo mail leaves suddenly working in Firefox. We have access to the e-mail account; However, everything is frozen. We cannot open any email. Other areas of Yahoo is not problem. His email works fine in Explorer, Safari, and Chrome. I checked to make sure the plugins were updated and none are listed as having problems with Yahoo Mail. I cleared cache and cookies with no result. What's next?

Note that you are using an outdated version of 16 of Firefox is no longer support for security updates.

You can find the full version of the current version of Firefox 28.0 in all languages and for all systems operating here:

You can try the following steps in case of problems with web pages:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • I get this error when you try to connect to yahoo mail

"The browser you're using refuses to sign in. (cookies rejected).

I studied the help files and done everything I could find to make the cookies allowed on the yahoo mail site and almost all the other sites I use frequently. Little hair pulling, I left trying to get into my email! Help, please? Going nuts about it.

I guess you've seen this general help article: Web sites say cookies are blocked - pledge.

Do you use any security or privacy software outside of Firefox which could be stripping cookies?

Tried to uninstall and reinstall without success. Operating system - XP.

Hi, cocoon, here is another way to access the Page Info dialog box:

In the address bar, click on the padlock or globe icon, then click the button more than information.

Cross-browser problems can indicate some security, privacy, utility software on your computer, change how your browser to connect to a site, or filtering of some of what your browser sends normally on the site or filter some of what the site sends you. Similar problems can appear if you are using an anonymous proxy server, private VPN service or service such as TOR. I know it's a wide range of possibilities, but it is useful to think of all these possible causes.

You could start with any software that filters your web traffic, either to remove the threats to safety or inconveniences such as advertising. Could you try to temporarily disable the filtering? If you mention your safety mark or parent control software, a volunteer may be able to give more specific measures.
