  I'm running an Oracle 12 c database and running a backup script every week:

  RMAN > BACKUP of DATA PLUS ARCHIVELOG;

  The archivelog should therefore be connected, no? Today I got an ora-00257. The current solution is to resize the area of 6 GB to 20 GB backup. But I guess it will grow only if I do not say on the subject.

  So I searched this forum and the web to find an adequate solution. I found a thread that recommends the race

• I have an old PC and delete the Flash Player!

  I use Windows XP 5.1.2600 Home build 2600 Service Pack 3 and I use IE 8 8.0.6001.187021S, build 86001.  I kept getting the upgrade notice, but when I tried to install them I was told that I don't have the stuff in my computer to upgrade.  I'm tired of the view, so last night, I deleted the Flash Player and thought I was only Delete version 10.3 but now I have no Flash Player at all.  I checked in C:\windows\system32\macroxxx\flash and what is now two install logs, not files.  I've looked everywhere I can think of look and cannot find a place to reinstall a version that works with my computer.  It's old like I'm old and please, I don't want to have to buy everything new and start over.  Can someone tell me where and how to get a full version of Flash Player that works with what I have?

  The latest version of Flash Player should work just fine on your computer.  I don't know what happened when you tried to install it.

  Try the following

  • Download uninstaller http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html FP (save to disk);
  • Download the install (s) http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html FP (save to disk);
  • Close all the browser windows, and then run the uninstall program downloaded, followed to install it (s).

  Is there a way to make Oracle choose the directory? The reason is that I want to keep 3 days newspapers on the drive, but the smaller location = / usr/archive/test only supports one day of logs. I also have the logs to another server to backup and save 1 week, but prefer to leave 3 days on the server database, but in the largest/u03/archive/test directory. If all the newspapers in the smallest directory files can be deleted after the backup if possible.

  Do not "delete entry", but delete the archivelogs directly (of course after the backup command). Use the option 'as string_pattern' in the command "delete archivelog' to specify the location:

  Two days back, I created 2 test environment for node. It is in archivelog mode, but not configured to the RMAN catalog database.
  Within two days, test team had done a lot of activities as the addition of data, stress tests etc and FRA was filled by more than 85%.
  Now, asked me to register the database with the RMAN catalog and they are very well to remove the previous archivelogs.
  Once the database is registered with the RMAN catalog, I have to take fresh full backup and the need to retain the archivelogs after taking backup.
  
  Now, since I need to remove the archivelogs, which is not necessary, I manually went ASMCMD mode and remove the archivelogs several, but when I request
  SQL > select * from v$ flash_recovery_area_usage; I don't see no decrease in percentage as and when I delete files in mode ASMCMD.
  
  Please tell me what mistake I make. Is the best way to remove the ASMCMD mode? Given that my database is not configured for catalog RMAN from now on, I am not able to use RMAN to delete the archivelogs.

  CROSSCHECK ARCHIVELOG ALL;
  DELETE EXPIRED ARCHIVELOG ALL;

  My question is if I delete the archivelogs will it deletes the records in the catalog also (I think) so backed up on tape. In this case the catalogue is not information for these records even if they are on cassettes, correct?

  The catalogue contains information about the backups.

  Before you remove the archivelogs, I assume that you have done a BACKUP ARCHIVELOG (or with the database as a BACKUP database PLUS ARCHIVELOG DATA). Therefore, backups are in the BackupSets that are in the catalog.

  in one of our databases 9iR2, I noticed a rather strange behavior of the RMan delete obsolete archivelogs. The RMan script has the "OBSOLETE RECOVERY WINDOW DELETE 7 DAYS DEVICE TYPE DISK"-command. If RMan deletes the archivelogs regularly. But unfortunately, in every race, it leaves 3 files cancelled. The log file is (only relevant lines):

  As you can see, RMan lack VG41MED12409.ora log file, VG41MED12410.ora, and VG41MED_12411.ora that are available before and after the backup procedure. We treat archivelogs on operating system level. A "overlap archivelog all ' - command does not list these 3 files, if the database thinks that they are removed - which is not really true. This odd pattern is repeated every day, so my archivelog directory is growing everyday with the 3 files not deleted.
  
  This behavior appears still more strange, because the RMan backup script even run on 3 other databases with same structure does not show this "error". I checked the configuration of 4 databases and not detected no difference.
  
  Maybe it's a corrupt controlfile (we do not catalog-db). Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

  (1) I think the command of OVERLAP is the only way to know what archivelogs are always specific to the database (expired or available) kn.
  (2) thank you for your explanations. You're right - the order REPORT OBSOLETE list backups, but my problem are the obsolete archivelogs of backups. If my humble opinion REPORT OBSOLETE wouldn't help.

  lists the known archivelog (expired or available) files.

  crosscheck archivelog all;
  

  will check if the information on their availability is still topical, but it will not help you in this case (they exist!)

  I have increased the CONTROLFILE_RECORD_KEEP_TIME now and watch the results next night. Perhaps the reason for this behavior is the fact that this database is very small compared to other databases, which do not show the effect.

  Hello, this option is not available in 9i.

  in standby mode, you can do something like:

  delete noprompt what ARCHIVELOG ALL completed before ' SYSDATE-1/24 ';

  in the primary, you can use:

  delete noprompt archivelog until 'sysdate - 1/24' backup drive TO 2 times;

  with these commands, you will keep 1 archivelog in primary and standby hour...
