  • Yoga 2 Pro stuck on the BIOS screen

Yesterday using my pro, I let the battery run completely. When I went to use the computer today, the computer is stuck on the white screen of lenovo.

Computer will not configuration options or boot bios enter unless the hard drive is removed. I can run the computer without the pcei HDD when you use a disk external hard usb. Not really sure where to go fron here. I tried to remove the hard disk, booting from a flash drive, then reinstall the pcei reader, but it does appear quite Similarly when searching for it through the command prompt. Thinking I have a bad drive hard, but I am at a loss at the moment

Yes, I'm guessing that the drive might be bad.

Try the Secure Boot turn off/on or affecting in the UEFI/Legacy BIOS as well. It might allow you to start an external drive.

Make sure that the boot order is set to an external start too.

This could be caused by the bug of Windows 10.
There are many different items on such behavior Windows 10 and probably this kind of issue should be fixed by Microsoft update.

This is one of the items mentioned:

  • Stuck in the automatic repair of repair could not your PC loop to win 8 on HP laptop

I bought a new HP 15 '' Notebook in December 2014 with 8 Windows preinstalled. After loading the applications and copy the data from the machine it replaces, I stop the machine and got the familiar window "Updating - please do not power off ' message. However, when the auto reboot occurred auto repair window appeared with a message indicating that the machine cannot be repaired automatically and advising me to check the log file C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\srt\SrtTrail.txt for the details of the problem. After I found the option to command line of auto repair-> troubleshooting-> Advanced Options-> command prompt, I found that the default drive called X:. After changing the C: with the "c:" command, the SrtTrail.txt file in the specified folder contained many successul test reports and the string "Startup Repair tried several times but still not determine the cause of the problem", if this file was not useful to determine the cause of the problem.

In the command window, I was able to run

    Bootrec /fixMBR
    Bootrec /Fixboot
    Bootrec /rebuildBCD

successfully, but after reboot I got the loop.

    I also tried

    CHKDSK c: /r
    CHKDSK d: /r

but after reboot I again re-entered in the loop.

I have not yet tried the reset option or update as Microsoft Office 2010 license key may not support another activation.

Are there other actions I can try before I resort to reset or update?

    Hi Simon,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I really appreciate the efforts made to try to resolve the problem. I understand and it is regrettable that the laptop is stuck in this loop. You can perform a system restore using the installation media for Windows 8 to restore the laptop to point earlier in time. However, given that Windows 8 has been pre-loaded on this laptop, I would recommend contacting the manufacturer for recovery for Windows 8 media.

Once you get the recovery media, you can perform the restore of the system following the steps below.

    a. insert the installation media and restart the computer.

    b. select language and click Next.

    c. select repair your computer and click on Skip this drive.

    d. select Troubleshooting and click Advanced Options.

    e. here, choose the automatic repair option and follow the instructions prompted.

Important: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed after this date are deleted.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Windows 8 stuck in black screen after "making auto repairs.

I had my HP laptop for five months. A few days ago that I opened the lid of my portable computer and it loaded and said "Configure automatic updates" at this stage, it was frozen. I held the power button down to do a hard restart. I turn it back on and it wouldn't start. I did a system refresh, defragment HDD, ran CCleaner and started in safe mode. At this point, the hard turned 100% use no matter what I did. I couldn't find a solution I did a system reset. He reset the whole PC and reinstalled Windows 8.  It got stuck in the facility to a black screen with just my mouse. I turned it off. Now when I turn on my laptop the screen goes black for about 15 seconds, then HP appears with "Automatic repair of preparation" below logo. It does this for about 20 seconds then the screen goes black. I left my computer for about 7 hours and the screen was always return. I do not have windows 8 CD or USB key. What can I do? Nobody here was willing to help with this problem, although there are a lot of Windows 8 users who have this. At this point, I am considering buying a Mac that I can't do it in the face of Windows 8. If someone could help me it would be apprciated. Thank you.

I tried several repairs. I did a disk check by pressing F2 during the launch, and he said that the hard drive has failed. I contacted HP support and they are sending me a box to put my laptop in which I will return. So they will be replacing as there is somehow guaranteed on this subject. If someone experiences this problem, it is probably a hard disk crash. Good luck

  • Satellite C855 stuck on the preparation of the auto repair when starting

My laptop has been slaughtered like this for two days now. I have searched and tried all sorts of sites re come rations, but nothing seems to work. I tried the F2 button that takes me to the Setup utility, but no start in the safe mode option is there. So I tried the F12 key and tried the boot menu, but nothing works either.

Do - what I need to do to solve this problem, I don't have the startup disk?
Can I recover my data from the hard drive?

What system you have, and it's a factory system pre-installed?

In case you have a system Win 8, follow this work around:
Turn on the unit and press F12
Now you should see the start menu. The last option should appear as a HARD drive recovery.
Choose HARD drive recovery and begin the process of recovery which would fix the laptop back to factory settings.

But be careful: in this case the HARD disk will be formatted and you will lose data.

In the case of Win 7, try this:
Turn the unit on and press F8
    Now choose fix my computer
Here, in the new window select Toshiba HDD recovery.
This will start the recovery process and will the laptop to factory settings.

  • HP ENVY TS m6 Sleekbook: HP ENVY TS m6 Sleekbook will prepare the auto repair when booting with Seagate Backup Plus 2 to

I had problems for some time with my HP ENVY when you restart.   I have a backup Seagate more Desktop 2 TB connected via a USB hub.    When it is connected and restarting the computer, it goes to the screen to "prepare the AutoFix.   So I have to unplug and restart and that's fine.     I don't know why it continues to be.   I checked my BIOS and it should boot from the hard drive first.     Any ideas?

    @mikejenkins1,

Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  Using a USB hub, you get a signal from one of the disks is trying to make a repair due to a possible disconnection during a writing session.  You will need to do is a test on the external drives to see if one of them has problems.  Try to make a direct connect with each drive connected by tonight and see if they are the problem on their own.

If one of them is causing the problem, try and use the test drive of windows.  Here is a link to help you with that.

    Check a drive for errors

Please let me know how things are going.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • HP Pavilion stuck in the Startup Repair tool

Hello. I have a HP Pavilion 1d21ca g6. I think he was under windows 7. I started to have problems with a blue screen that pops up a few times during commissioning, but the computer has always continued to start. I think that the blue screen that says only he there had mistakes, if this is the first time continue to start. Then yesterday, the computer was not able to start. I got a black screen that has start windows normally or launch start the repair. I tried to start windows normally, but it got stuck on a gray screen. Then I tried to launch the start of repairs which lasted a whole day and seems never to end. I tried a few times, the same results. I wrote this, I turned the laptop upside down to look down, and now it won't even turn. My daughter received this as a Christmas gift last year and it was barely used. I used to write documents for the University and I need information out of it. I hope that someone can help you.

Thanks for responding. I tried this as well and the power was restored to my laptop, but the first problem has always remained. I found myself there are clips and the technician said that the hard drive is damaged. It's still under warranty so they will replace the drive. I hope that no more problems! Thanks again.

  • Alienware 17 stuck in the Startup Repair tool

iI has been stuck in a loop of repair, but I'm out of it by pressing F8.

    I'm still stuck at startup.

After you press F8, the screen gave me four options to choose:

    "Press Esc for recovery."

    'Press ENTER to try again'

    "Press F8 for startup parameters.

    and

"Press F9 to use another operating system"

I tried the first three options, but they proved to be powerless,

I pressed F9, causing the laptop to reboot, but it only led me to a black screen Uni.

Run a diagnosis of material lying on the hard - F12 at startup disc to enter the Dell diagnostics.
