Yoga 2 Pro battery replaceable by the user?

Hello

I wonder if Yoga Pro 2 battery is replaceable by the user.

I was at bestbuy the seller told said that he is not and soldered so I can't change it on mine and the need for protection of geek squad...

Please let me know.

Thank you.

Nice day.

Take a look at page 35 of the Y2P HMM:

While the battery is not considered a CRU (CRUS by), it is not welded.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards.

  • Yoga 2 Pro advertising plays when the computer goes to sleep

Hello, so I recently bought a Yoga 2 Pro and have almost no complaints. One small thing I noticed is that my computer from time to time upon entering the mode "ensure" with the lid open, instead of displaying a black screen as planned will instead show an advertisement stating "4 NEW MODES, LENOVO YOGA 2 PRO" and will begin to show a video advetisment.

I would rather the computer make a traditonal sleep mode when the lid is left open, how can I disable this advertising? I tried to play with the sleep settings in windows, but not luck. This occurs when both on battery and plugged in. I also tried to uninstall the software of Lenovo's Transition, but that did not help. Any ideas? It seems that the computer may be in demo mode? Thanks for the help.

Good afternoon and welcome to the community.

    This is the default screensaver.

To change it, right-click on the desktop, select Customize, then select the screen saver at the bottom right. You can then make changes in the window that appears.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - error message: the user is not authorized to update BIOS

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro M30 of second hand. This one has the Bios 1.30... I would like to install the bios v1.70.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and tried first update in Windows.
I however got the message "the user is not allowed to update BIOS.

This message is quite surprising given that I have administrator privileges.

I read that you can use a floppy disk to update, but I did not...

So, is it possible to update the Bios with the CD?

    See you soon,.
    R.S.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found the version of BIOS 1.7 WIN in the field of ARCHIVES.

As you can see, it's a version of BIOS Windows and not a traditional version of the BIOS (trad BIOS can be updated using the diskette).
This BIOS win can be improved only from a running OS Win.

In any case, I see that you have installed SP3. It could have a bad influence on the update of the BIOS.
Then maybe you should try to update the BIOS without SP3 installed?

Remove SP3, download the good BIOS, unzip correctly and then try to run the BIOS update file.

_Ps: If you laptop then runs without problem a BIOS update is not necessary! _

  • The Windows 7 XP Mode requires XP Pro screen logon with the user name and password

I was in safe mode and set a password as an administrator who does not help me to go beyond the Pro XP log-on screen who has need of password and user name.  This computer is Windows 7 Ultimate with XP Mode which has the habit of work. Now I can not access my recipe database which is in XP mode. If I have XP mode to uninstall and reinstall will I lose my recipes?  I have the path, but once again can not be accessed from the C drive (the path is C:\documents and settings\XPMuser\desktop\Laurie1.mk4).  Would a guest use to remove sign-in required? (I don't know the BACK).  Help?

PROBLEM SOLVED.  I found that two files Microsoft Net had been added to the Virtual Machine (must be an automatic download because they do not show up before).  I deleted these (parked in the trash them).  Then, I entered XPMUser, then the password (lowercase).  Now, I was able to go beyond this security window and access my XP files.  I had tried in the past, but feel that these files Microsoft Net must have caused a few conflicts?  All my files recipe in this database XP program I was now able to copy them and then installed on my HP small laptop under XP.  No more frustration to this virtual machine.  Thank you for your replies Bill Sanderson.

  • Yoga 2 Pro battery does not charge

My battery is at 0% available, plugged in charge, but he's never going to 0%. I tried to reset the battery meter in energy nursery 1.0.1.49 but that only turns for a few seconds and reports that reset the gauge is full. I also disabled control ACPI in Device Manager then allowing it and the icon appears to be charged, but only for a few seconds then stops. Given the relative conservation mode or stop does not seem to make a difference.

The latest version of the BIOS is installed and I believe that I have the latest version of the power manager.

Does anyone else have this problem?

  • Yoga 2 Pro, how to remove the key?

Spilled some of the sweet on the, / and to the right of the shift keys and now the / key is sticky. Fortunately nothing more than that seems wrong with my laptop 5 - day old, but I've never deleted a key of a laptop. Can someone guide me by removing the key?

Hello! So I strongly recommend that you do not remove the keys, because pulling the mine I ended up snapping the part of the spring of one of them and cracking slightly another. Although this allowed me to clean the sticky part, the key with the broken spring is unbalanced and bad press and I honestly would have preferred a sticky key on what I have now.

  • HP graphic calculator first: first RPN - battery display of items not in compliance with the User Guide

In the HP User Guide first, in the section on page 48 RPN, the image shows the battery watch algebraic views of right which was calculated on the left side of the line battery, with responses on the side of each line in the stack.  When I do the same calculations, I only get responses from the right side.

Is there a parameter that represents the lines of battery as in the user's Guide?  I can't find it if it's there.

    Thank you

    Nick

The guide I think you are referring is the guide of July 2013.  These pictures no longer exist in new versions of the user guide.

I haven't met a setting that causes the behavior used in these pictures.

  • The user of the 21 Tap hard disk is replaceable?

Anyone know if the hard drive in the Tap 21 replaceable by the user?

I see 21 Tap has been released and he is seriously considering.  But I can't tell by images or any document, if the hard drive is replaceable by the user or not. Actually in the pictures I see even any way that a user would open a part any Tap 21 at all.

I would be VERY hesitant to buy a PC with a hard disk without the possibility to replace that hard drive myself if it is crushed or upgrading to a bigger in the future. To send a PC into a service center for several days for an easily manipulated hard drive failure or upgrade would be extremely boring, to say the least.

I know that it was possible within 20 Tap, and it's obvious from the pictures of 20 as part of the back can be removed.  But the tap of 21 is a completely smooth piece, so there is no obvious way to get hard disk that I see.

    Thank you.

    Thanks NickT.

I was hoping that wasn't the case, as the Tap 21 fits my needs very well.  I now just have to decide if it's a deal breaker for me, or outweighs the fact that it fits my needs so well that negative.

I'll take some time to meditate... while I'm waiting for some clients out.  Then I hope one or several exams will help me make my decision.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - how to get Windows 8.1 recovery disks

    Hi all.

I just bought a Yoga 2 Pro and immediately wiped the drive and installed Debian on it (which works very well.)

While I can't imagine going back me to Windows, it would be useful to have the recovery of Windows 8.1 (or USB) disks available, just in case. (Money-back guarantee, sell to someone, etc.)

Unfortunately, during the installation of Debian, the recovery partition has been deleted, so I can't create the recovery/USB disks myself. How can I get a copy of the recovery disks?

Good day and welcome to the community.

For support of factory image recovery, you will need to contact the Service (info below). There may be a fee for the media.

    Kind regards.

  • Yoga 3 Pro: speaker stopped working (headphone jack still works)

Recently bought Yoga 3 Pro (Windows 8.1) the Lenovo Web site (2 months ago).

The speaker worked fine until yesterday. All of a sudden, the speaker stopped working, after I used the headset.

Now, only the helmet works and no sound can get out of the enclosure.

I updated the driver from RealTek speaker to a new version 9/2014. It did not help.

Does anyone have an idea on what could be the cause and how to fix it?

    Thank you!

My problem has been resolved to back the audio driver (which has been updated
through Windows Update automatically) to the factory default. The speaker
works again once the default driver has been reinstalled.

Now, one thing to note is that you must also disable the automatic
"update driver in" System Properties "==>"Material"==>"Device"tab
Installation settings"==> no, select"Let me choose what to do"==> and
Then select "never install driver from Windows Update." and ensure
"Automatically obtain the device app and info provided by your device.
Reference the manufacturer"is checked. This will not prevent the driver gets automatically
modified by Windows Update after your next reboot.

I hope this helps fix your situation also.

BTW, the likelihood of a material defect (speaker) is very very low...

    Good luck!
