Yoga1 11 s Haswell (4310y) - sluggish UI? Low CPU frequency?

I know that the series is supposed to be slower than the series U, but I feel like this thing is abnormally slow on my GF Yoga 11 s. Task Manager indicates it only making .58ghz while trying to load the Sims 3 (I know that this game has problems, but it hardly seems to run about as well--surprisingly slow loading times). The Task Manager is incorrect? I think that the CPU is supposed to be 1.5 ghz. I also felt a bit slow machine regarding the user interface. For example, right click could be a small delay with regard to the context menu. Y at - it a setting or driver I'm missing here?

Are you running on battery or sector? The default power plan seems to keep the system locked to a low frequency battery-operated.

Hello! I just bought an Alienware x 51 R3 and when I look at the AlienFX command center, I'm going to OCControls to take a look at my cpu frequency and I'm still at 0.90 to 1.20 GHz.

No programs are open except Google Chrome.

  • Satellite A100-812: low CPU scores

    My A100-812 had serious problems.
First of all, it doesn't seem to work without notebook cooler.

But the reason why I'm here, it's that my Core Duo T2250 score only 3.4 of Vista Basic.
According to a developer who is too low for this type and he suggests that it is a production error.

I've already updated my BIOS and CPU drivers.

    Which is more expensive
    Ralph

    Hello

Why do you think the Vista partition is too low?

The Intel Dual - Core Mobile Processor T2250 supports 1733 MHz and 533 MHz FSB. But it does not support virtualization technology.
I have a similar CPU that work with 1.7 Ghz (~ 1700 Mhz) and I've got a 3.6 Vista experience. This isn't a big difference

    But I wonder about this comment;
    > First of all, it doesn't seem to work without a laptop cooler.

What do you mean exactly? Do you mean that your laptop is overheating?

In this case, I assume that the CPU does not work with maximum performance to avoid a higher internal temperature
In your case, I would check if the cooling modules are not blocked and so dust and debris preventing the cooling fans.

  • low Harmonic frequencies in the signal strength

    Hi all

I try to know what are the causes of noise in my signal, whether it's a faulty hardware or my lack of knowledge.

The system that I'm actually consist of two engines not to not (parker HV232) that provide the uprising due to frost harmonic + pitch motion with phase shift of 90 degrees (a kind of movement of fish tail beat). I have a load cell 3 - axes attached to the shaft of the motor, pitch, and it measures up, drag and torque on a plateau which oscillates in the tunnel water (oscillation is provided by these two Steps). Tunnel to provide the incoming stream.

Signals of strength are captured through SG-23 + PXI-6221 daq card, I put the gain on the last of them to +/-200 mV for better resolution.

When the engines are turned off, the noise level on the static signal is the threshold of resolution, and nothing strange is not shown in the signal, and its ghosts.

The problems begin when I initialize the motion on the steppers, FFT of the watch signal of the low frequency spikes that are exact multiplies the frequency of oscillation, I have attached a PDF for example.

Disengage amplifier/filter which was suggested by manufacturing, and suspect I have observed could be due to this I'm not sure at 100%. The VI I use filter band-pass data in the 0.2 to 6 Hz, but somehow I can still see noise beyond 6 Hz.

I was wandering perhaps someone has experience with similar issues and can suggest a solution on how to get rid of these harmonics.

    Thanks in advance

I'm not an expert in the dynamics of the tunnel, but from what you say, it looks like they can't be noise but components generated due to the rotation of a mechanical Assembly. Normally people refer to these harmonics in the form of 'order', which means that they are a multiple of the frequency of rotation.

    So maybe it's the attacker

    1. check by an expert (the one that includes the mechanical system that you are using) that to the point where you measure the force will not get the components of the order.

    2. understand what exactly is the measurand. What exactly do you want to do with the measured signal (RMS, FFT etc..) Then you will be able to figureout if components of the order may affect your measurement.

During filtration, the attenuation in the band determines how fast the signals will be thinning of the hard shoulder.

  • Low CPU with high RAM compromise?

I was searching online for a confirmation, but have not yet find something, so I wanted to post on these cards. On a large cluster of machines (a few hundred), the load on our resource monitor said that we push % on CPU and RAM 70 %5. We are setting up a new environment and thought about order of servers with a single socket processor and much more RAM.

Did anyone see issue by doing this? If this is not the case, how is it many people buy machines to dual-core instead of a nucleus?

You set yourself for a lot of problems goes in this direction. As others have also posted it, you are much, much, much better off getting servers with double plug, multi-core (at least Quad-cores) that reduces to one taken. According to the processor that you look at, it is possible to go to a GHz slightly more low discretion model, depending on what happens to be operational there.

Personally, for a production environment design, I will not under a pair of Xeon E5520 to each host server.

With the double Sockets, you will have the best memory options available to you as well. In fact, you are ready to a lower limit on the amount of RAM you can install when you use a single socket these days. Basically you're max is going to be 1/2 of what it would be with two CPU installed. Because the memory is one of your main concerns, you'll be streaked yourself by reducing the CPU when it's your limit of memory.

I confirmed it (quickly) with a Dell R710 build... With two processors E5520, the limit is 192GO (12 sticks) of RAM... With one, she is reduced to 96GB (6 sticks)...

  • CPU frequency and bus on Satellite M30 is too low

    Hello

The processor and my Satellite M30 bus seems to be significantly under speed. According to Windows XP Pro and Solaris Nevada, the processor is clocked at 600 MHz. The frequency of the BIOS, scaling parameter is set to "Still high", and I tried to disable ACPI in the operating system (ensuring no interference on the software side), without result. Power in the Toshiba Power Saver settings are all maxed out, so no scaling should be there either. Intel Processor Identification Utility reports the following:

    Reported expected
    Speed: 1.60 GHz GHz 0.44
System bus: 400 MHz 294 MHz

Note that the tool uses algorithms to determine the speed, rather than trusting the value returned by the operating system, that one of her aims purposes is testing for fraudulenty CPU overclocked by OEMs. The speed as it is for me is even more disappointing. I don't know how long it has been like that, but one thing to note is that the motherboard has been replaced last summer.

Someone has an idea what here? Thank you.

Edit: I also loaded the CPU with CPU-Burn to see if some heavy loads would get understandingly frequency. It has no effect.

    Hello

If you use the advanced search option, you will find a few similar topics with the explanation very clear why unit works with 600 MHz only.

In any case, after the replacement motherboard service must blink mainboard firmware. After doing this it will work at full speed. Because of this, I guess they forgot to do.

It is not a big problem. Please contact again and explain the situation.

  • Satellite R830 - low CPU benchmark

    Hello

I tested my R830 Satellite with index WEI W7. In this benchmark CPU index was 6.9.

    I installed Windows 7 64-bit clean to my R830-PT32LE (i5 - 2410M).

I installed most of the applications and drivers. After that the installation when I spot again CPU index was 5.2.
(Reference WEI has been done with the power settings and adapter is connected)

I think it's really 5.2 because its slower than before. Other WEI, I have test it with some other applications of CPU benchmark, and each of them gave this kind of small numbers.

What is the problem? Is it possible if I forgot to install driver if I get this kind of performance?

    > I installed most of the applications and drivers.
    And what is missing?

Is that all the drivers, tools, and utilities should / must be installed in the proper installation order.
BTW: what version of Win7 do you currently use? Maybe ultimate?

  • Low CPU usage

    Hello

I'm trying to write a code that did a bit of manipulation of the table and some simple trig to do something quite critical time. I noticed that the use of the processor in my machine was terribly weak, has never really superior to 50%. Puzzled, I tried to write a very simple code (some time infinitely loop executed a few simple calculations for the iteration counter) and who was running. Even with this simple code, the CPU usage is not improved. As already said, I'm writing something quite critical time, so the utilization rate, the better it is.

The computer I'm running this code is certainly not the high-end - an Intel Atom Z530 clocked at 1.6 GHz with 1 GB of RAM. However, I am limited in my choice of material (note that memory usage is no where near pegged, either - with my code and the simple loop).

Is that what I can do to increase usage? I tried to turn off debugging, with little luck.

    Thank you.

Yes, I noticed that afterwards, Altenbach. However, as HT-transformer, is not the operating system that it is 2 logical processors and therefore 50%?

As you mentioned in your previous post, 2 while loops must confirm it.

  • Slowdown on time - Low CPU, GPU, RAM, HARD drive use

The title explains it all really, when has left for an extended period of time there is a significant increase of the time that it takes to open programs.
Opening a folder of work to speed normal but executable take 5 or more seconds longer than usual to start.
This is particularly visible at the launch in the start menu as it crashes until the program opens completely.
When you click on the executable file of the process almost immediately appears in taskman but takes a long time to actually produce a window, which works immediately and properly and at the same time the lock on the ends of the start menu.
A temporary solution is to restart the computer.

I'm here asking for advice because I ran out of ideas for what is could be.

I also as I have tested this ran scans used AVG, AVAST and malwarebytes anti-malware from a 3rd computer I set up the discs where no problem.

I ran sfc/scannow, which corrected a few errors, but the problem persisted

Make him run my investigation that I drove for new software to version and also tried beta versions snack, these programs have been a problem.

To check potential hardware faults I ran several passes of MemTest86 + and also CPU and GPU stress tests, which found the system to be stable as any returned errors.

As I said at the beginning I am here for advice I have literally run out of things I can think might cause a problem.

    Hello

    Thanks for the update.

    Please refer to these methods:

Method 1: I ask you to start the computer in Mode safe mode and check if the problem occurs.

Safe mode is an option of troubleshooting for Windows that starts your computer in a limited State, with internet access. Only basic files and drivers needed to run Windows are started.

Follow the link below to learn how to do it.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/is-is/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2: Restore the system to a point before that the problem occurred.

    System restore
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/products/features/system-restore

Important: System Restore will return all system files not as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

Note: it is advisable to back up your data to be on the safer side.

Please get back to us with the State of the question.

  • Flash video jumps despite the low CPU usage

It is a problem of browser independent (in IE and FF) and apply only to the Flash Video (YouTube, for example)-it happens for example with DivX.

Time to time the video will drop frames. Running beside the video Task Manager, I see that the CPU actually tends to fall in these moments, rather than boost. Well, it comes down to the departure at the time of the loss of images and then upwards slightly above reference for a short period. Use during playback, however, is very small, about 3-4%.

    What I tried:

    Change Windows high-performance power management

Deactivation of many processes that run in the background

Deactivation of the possibilities for energy savings in the energy Manager of Lenovo and technology Intel Rapid Storage Technology (though I doubt that this has nothing to do with the HARD drive)

    Disabling hardware acceleration in Flash

    .. .but does not.

  • Supported Memory Configurations (PC3L) low voltage for PowerEdge T410

I note that, when using the first DIMM per channel (i.e. 3 of the 4 memory by processor slots) with PC3L memory, it works at 1.35v, as it should.

When I add a strip of MEMORY on the fourth slot, memory running at 1.5V, thus neglecting the advantage of low voltage.

T410 technical guide says "When they operate at low voltage, frequency and population additional restrictions can take effect."  Fills all the memory locations, considered a restriction of the population in this context?

Looks like a fairly common thing to do (fill in all of the memory locations)...

    Thank you

    Fganter.

Unfortunately fill three memory modules per channel is not supported 1.35 V. systems with 1.35 V memory will be also exploited the memory modules to 1.5 V if one of the following conditions exist:

    • Intel Xeon processors 5500
    • two modules of 1333 MHz DIMM per channel
    • a mixture of both modules of memory standard and low voltage

  • I can't get a straight answer.  What does GHZ by the number of hearts?

I am considering the following processors:

    Intel Core i7 - 5930K 3.50 GHz, 2133 MHz DDR4, 15 MB Memory Cache, Hex Core Processor

Intel Core i7-5960 X 3.00 GHz, 2133 MHz DDR4, 20 MB Memory Cache, Octo Core Processor

Then the GHz decreases.5 MB Cache Monte 5 MB and it has more than two cores.  I ' ve read countless articles on this subject, but I still don't know who would offer better performance; What do you think?

Also, I strongly the time reading real value (and therefore short make time to preview files) and use a lot of effects.  I also plan on using Pr and Ae together through hotlinks.  What CPU would you recommend, I don't know yet?

... first... to review the results of the tests of Eric he posted here on this forum, about the new chips Haswell E. These results are compared to previous processors.

You will see that MORE than CŒURS provides BEST performance when you use software that is designed for the MULTI-THREADING... as is. The new CPU chips are designed to automatically return gas, not in charge, and then to "accelerating upwards", using "turbo" under load. However, you will gain significant performance by overclocking the processor to its best potential... safely about 4.3 to 4.5 Ghz... with the new 5960 X UNLOCKED CPU. Thus, the CPU frequency is VERY important with the body, but so is the NUMBER OF CŒURS!

The exciting thing is that if you look at the results of the tests, you can easily see that ultimately, performance that USED TO was possible using Xeon machines double scale very expensive, industrial, is finally available IN A SINGLE CPU for average users... into a package of affordble. However, some "plug-ins" and effects that are NOT well threaded design CAN ALWAYS bring a machine to its knees... especially those who are not "accelerated" by the GPU with CUDA. If you can afford it... the 5960 X is the OBVIOUS choice... ESPECIALLY with the appearance of the 4K and other newer codecs that will come. The clock speed of the old used Xeons must be lower... .impairing performance even though they had more heart. NOW, you can get the best of both worlds in a single CPU... carrots of speed 8 AND high clock! It's an offer "you can't refuse"... fuggettaboutit!
