  • Close programs to prevent the loss of information. Your computer is low on memory. You save files and close programs. Java (TM) Platform SE binary Windows Media Player

    Hello

I keep getting the following error message, and leterally having my computer off over and over again, even if I added 1 GB of RAM (now 3 total RAM) mor and also added a 8 GB SD card as more power:

Close programs to prevent the loss of information.  Your computer is low on memory.  You save files and close programs.  Java (TM) Platform SE binary Windows Media Player

I did research on the various search engines to know that many face the same problem, with a variety of possible solutions, but so far, none work.  We suggest that I go to Regedit and change the permissions of the user and then delete the old files, after I import them.

Needless to say, I am just a user and have just a bit of technical knowledge.  The local PC repair shop in my town has no idea what to do.  For anyone who has a solution to this problem, help will be greatly appreciated!

First of all, unless you know EXACTLY what you do and WHY you do it. I personally recommend never do anything in regedit. I consider myself a moderate to advanced computer user and a moderate user of windows. And I always stay away from regedit, if I can, because you can seriously screw things if you don't know what you're doing... Although, to be honest most of the settings will not have a devastating drama.

It seems to me that this is a memory leak in the program, you will get this error message to make sure that your computer will just crash, because if she is running out of RAM... Well it will crash.

If you have a 2 and a 1 GB for a total of 3 GB, I recommend the upgrade once more and just round up to a nice 4 (this is the most of memory a 32-bit system can handle in total)

Works of memory in a way that you see really only a few performance jump with memory dual channel, the only way to have that is really striking the rods of same in each slot.

There isn't really a reason that this happens every time, except that simply your computer is low on MEMORY, when your computer says this means RAM, not disk memory storage area.

If you clean your computer of the programs you never use and stop using windows media player (itunes is better in my opinion, even if you don't have an ipod), you can see an improvement, but to really isolate the problem, I recommend simply opening your task manager as soon as you start your computer (ctrl + alt + delete usually gives you the option or it opens directly) otherwise you can do start-> RUN taskmgr.exe , OR type taskmgr.exe in the search box and press on enter.

Then, look at the column of memory as I said it sounds like a program has a leak, and you will see that is because memory will begin at low/normal and then numbers just keep climbing...

Also, make sure that your computer recognizes all 3 GB or RAM. in Task Manager if you have access to the performance tab, under physical memory must be a thing called Total, 3 GB = 3074. If this is not an option in your reason, you can go under Accessories/System Tools system information (on the start menu). (may take a while to load) but on the home page, you should see something that indicates the amount of TOTAL PHYSICAL MEMORY. You want to read this / 3GB or 3074 MB.

    Hope this helps some!

I recommend to remove all programs, you are ready to, especially those that you never use. Do a complete uninstall. Then start installing windows clean (download google) just to make sure that the program has been removed. then go start--> run msconfig OR just type msconfig in the search and click on go (I don't know if you're running XP or Vista/7)

In the msconfig dialog, you should see a section that says startup. Don't forget to remove programs that you do not first. Disable startup programs, you use every DAY. Don't go turn off all if windows needs some process to run, and some processes don't effect anything. But if you're curious, you should be able to google all of startup items and see what it's related to and why you do or that you don't need.

Good luck! Sorry, I'm everywhere with this response.

  • Your computer is low on memory. Quit other programs, and try again.

I note that others have the same problem and said that your suggested solutions did not work, but did you check the motion as answered in all cases.

I have windows 7 and windows media player 12.0.7600.16667. I play about 3 or 4 videos and get the error message "your computer is low on memory. Quit other programs, and try again. ». As others have noted, I tried the corrections suggested by using the Troubleshoot utility and fixes suggested in similar queries (virtual memory setting etc.). NONE OF THESE WORK! These problems don't to do not manifest until what I installed windows 7 and windows media player 12. What about a solution that works! Returning to WMP 11 would be a possible solution? Any other suggestions besides run the troubleshooter and replace the virtual memory?

I have gateway with AMD Athlon (TM) 62 x 2 dual core processor 6000 + 3.0 GHZ and 3 GB of RAM.

Also have ~ 2 TB memory physical and 3 GB of RAM to play with my computer's memory is not the issue, windows 7 or windows media player 12 or the combination windows7 and WMP 12 is the question. If you cannot offer a solution please ask Uncle Bill to divert resources to solve this problem please (preferably before the next version overpriced and underperforming Windows is imposed on an unsuspecting audience). Hello

    ·    What is this problem only occurs when you use WIndows Media Player or other applications as well?

    ·        Did you the latest changes on the computer?

    Method 1:

If the previous step fails, then perform the clean boot procedure to verify if a third-party program installed on the computer is the origin of the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    Method 3:

I also suggest to run Msconfig (System utility) and place a check on maximum memory and see if you get the same error again. To do so follow the steps below:

    (a) click Start.

    (b) type Msconfig in Windows search bar and press ENTER.

    c) select the TAB that reads start.

    (d) click on advanced options.

    (e) place a check on maximum memory.

I have an Acer computer I want to do a total restore. It came with windows 7 starter edition, and then I bought Microsoft word for it. If Microsoft word will lose if I do the restoration?

If you purchased Word on CD, it's no big deal; just reinstall it after the factory restore. If it was bought online, copy the file downloaded to a CD and then reinstall it later.

Is there a particular reason, why you want to do a restore complete? Have you problems? If so, you can try asking here on how to fix them and do not have to do a restore, reinstall all your programs and all of the updates and service pack 1.

  • "Sorry, your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart. We are only collecting the error information, and then we'll restart for you. "windows 8

Hi so I recently bought a new computer and out of no where he worked in some really annoying errors. This has happened three times, I can't understand a reason yet, AFAIK, it occurs randomly. A few times I start up my computer and it starts just the windows icon, the loading circle is not displayed. If I let it run it will remain still frozen. After a few reboots, he says still 'preparation auto repair' is still frozen. This has happened 3 times.

The first time I have not jumped into the recovery CD, no problem, used a system restore, it was all good.

The second time, she actually had a cause, our power went out and my pc was used, then maybe he could have ruined a circuit. So I put the CD, it wouldn't recognize it and if he did, he would freeze just and nothing to do. I tried F8, F12 and F1: he didn't even recognize these keys or react at least based on them.
After a few restarts I miraculously managed to do recognize the CD and this time I made a cooling system.
This lead me to think it might be some of my files/programs, but I'm still working on acquiring them all back after the update so I think it is unlikely that. 3rd time: yet once, it happened when I turned it on after a normal closed. It would not recognize the cd or the keys. After maybe 15 attempts, but rather oddly, everything was OK? I also noticed that my Tablet Wacom Intuos 5 is connected it will not start, but if I unplug it, it starts very well. (Driver error?)

All this is fine and dandy, I can deal with it, but not until recently that error in the title stood. I noticed, that it normally occurs when the computer is in "sleep" or the monitor turns off because it is inactive. If I move the mouse to bring on the monitor, it is just a bright blue solid then the following message: "sorry, your computer has encountered an error and needs to restart. We are only collecting the error information, and then we'll restart for you"appears and it stops. Whenever this happens, it starts up just fine, it is just annoying it encounters this error whenever I use it. I tried to do system recoveries, but it did not help. I can just do a reset or refreshment, but again once I do not want this effort and to lose files if the error is still going to happen. I'm not sure if this is a hardware error, heating, maybe? But I'm not all that experience in these things. As I said, this computer is fairly new, maybe 2 months, then maybe I could just put its warranty policy to use. But if you can think of anyway to help, it would be great thanks!
