  Thanks for the reply. I checked deeper than the home screen and all records. Still nothing. Managed to solve the problem myself.

  Open the Options - device - applications management. Find the Blackberry app (which we had 2). Clicked on it, and then on the delete option. Removed two applications.

  After having done that, I downloaded the program from Blackberry App World from the internet using the phone and reinstalled. Problem solved. Icon now appears on the home screen

  Sometimes, when you perform an update of the OS, reload, or otherwise, your icons are hidden, moved or otherwise not easily visible. The first thing to do is to search all the files (e.g., downloads, applications, etc.) to see if the icon is there.
