Zbook 15 G2: 90W Docking for G2 Zbook 15 HP

Hello

I just got 15 G2 Zbook and currently looking for a docking station as I mainly use with combination of monitor / keyboard/mouse + speaker in my office.
As this laptop is big enough with her just as heavy power brick, I realized I'd better go with a cradle to attach/detach every day easy.

http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetHTML.aspx?DocName=c04287869
I think that I need the base dock (not advance)

So some research on the internet suggest the dock suitable for HP 15 Zbook is the one who has power of 230W (it makes sense since his plant power brick is 150 watts), but I also see a provided 90W is much cheaper... and I have a vague idea that the extra power in the 230W is simply to allow you to successfully operate the peripheral elements at one time.

Because I do not want to connect or Garland all hungry pyromecanismes, is there a chance 90W docking would be able to hold?

Kind regards

Razz

For anyone interested, I went with Dock 120W and my laptop works very well (without warning/no or "running food" error message). No performance degradation whatsoever.

My configuration:

Docking station HP Zbook 15 G2 + HP 2012 120W + Displayport monitor + keyboard/mouse wireless + 1 or USB 2 low power devices (Smartphone/Portable HDD)

In addition, I discovered that some people also have success using 90W dock, but it's anecdotal. I can't really confirm.

  • A HP Elitebook 8570w fits on a 90W Docking Station A7e32AA?

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to connect my Elitebook 8570w to an A7e32AA Docking Station. In the description on the HP website (http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10432926-) it says that the 8570 p doesn't work on it.

And I read that the 8570p and 8570w have the same docking connector (spring of other available docking stations that work for both of these laptops).

Can someone confirm or deny this?

    Hello

I'm sorry. If you want to only use 150W PSU for the docking station then no problem, but if you want to use 90W PSU for your machine (which needs 150W) 90W can't drive your machine as expected.

    Kind regards.

This unit will be connected to your laptop via the USB cable (it will be in the box).

One end of this cable is pluged in your laptop and the second to the Replicator of Port HP USB Media (Docking Station) which will be docked to the rear part of HP Notebook Stand. Below is shown the photo that illustrates this situation:

Above the screen is taken from the document from HP that show how to set up this device. You can find it here.

I found on the movie from YouTube on the HP USB Media Docking Station.

Then, it shows how it looks / works with HP dv6, Lenovo IdeaPad and HP mini 210.

Yes. (I guess that they both use the new rectangular connector).

There is no problem with using a charger 90W on a ThinkPad which is designed to work with the charger 65W. The 90W refers to the maximum power that can provide the charger. If the ThinkPad should only 65W then that's all she will draw from the charger.

  • What is the best software dock for windows 7 home premium64 bits?

I am using windows 7 Home premium 64-bit. What is the best doc for my pc software...?

I think that atm Dock all programs DO NOT support native 64 so they will work, but some things do not work properly.
Don't come on a guy and him say no to install the 3rd party thing, I'm sorry, but the world revolves around more than the operating system.
I've been dying to use ObjectDock, but until they support 64-bit I won't use it until it runs as 32 bits, that was awesome.
Personally to customize my desktop atm I use hyper-desk which is an excellent add-on.

Hope this helps and if you have 8gig of ram in your system, then who cares programs how you have running.
I use less than 25% with all my WASTE running.

Soon and happy new year to you all.

  • Port/Dock for X 220 Tablet

I'm looking for in the docking of the solutions for the X220T.  I currently use the Tablet ThinkPad X 220 with 64-bit Windows 7, but it is possible that I can run Ubuntu on a partition in the future.  Is it possible to dual monitor with X220T on Windows 7 or Ubuntu using the ThinkPad Port Replicator Series 3 or the ThinkPad ban Series 3?  Who would give more functionality in this respect?

I'm new to this forum, but I thank you in advance for any advice. It is greatly appreciated.

    Hello filled_empty,

If you want to go with the Port Replicator, you need dongles, and/or a type converter for the type of wire you need.

It is probably the least expensive way to go if you are looking to save money.

The ban or Dock usually have the ports that you must already on it. This includes but is not limited to VGA, DVI, usb connectors, etc. It is a little higher in price, but personally I think that the dock is the way to go on this.  No required converters or dongles.  The dock is, in my opinion, the way to get more features with the addition of multiple monitors.

You also questions about dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu. Yes, it is possible with your laptop.

    I hope this helps.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I'm kinda a thickie when it comes to this sort of thing.

Your phone model does not support a docking station. But you can use of external ports like Dynadock replicators.
This beautiful little thing should meet your needs. Give it a try if you need to port extensions or something like that.

Of course, you can use any other USB port replicator if you wish.
