ZFS SA hand as FRA on a grid Exadata

Looking to see if ZFS Storage Appliance (we buy a period.) can be used as the FRA for the Exadata instead of the regular + RECO DG.
The people there went thru' a similar thought process? I read that ODA can be connected to a SA of ZFS for HCC & backup purposes, but I was wondering if there is some official/Metalink document note that says: ok Exadata can have FRA on ZFS.

Obviously, * if * we have our FRA on ZFS, it just takes a simple 'switch' RMAN to copy and avoids the pain in the neck, strip speeds.

In this type of configuration, you can set two archivelog destinations: an on your + RECO diskgroup, and the other on your ZFSSA.

    Sorry for the delay, the problem seems to lie in the M1000e Panel. Which is where the MCC stores the NVRAM data. I'll send you emails with my contact information. Meet me with your impossible customer Svc tags and we can check on our options. If the system is not in warranty, then the part you need is XP520.

  • Is it possible to create different starts to exadata?

    We have a need to have a few more starts other than + DATA and + RECO.

    How do we proceed? Exadata version is x 3.

    Thank you

    user569151-

    As 1188454 said it's possible. First of all, I would like to ask why do you need to create groups of additional disks data, the reco, and dbfs disk group is created by default. I see Exadata users often question the default disk groups and add or modify the disk groups to follow what they did previously on no RAC environments/Exadata ASM. However, usually the groups of data disks and reco are sufficient and allow the best flexibility and performance. One of the reasons to create multiple groups of disks could be wanting to have redundancy options different two different for a group of data disks - to have a prod on high redundancy database and a database of test on normal redundancy for example; but it is not much needs to change.

    Adding groups of disks, you will also need to rearrange and add new disks of grid. You must keep the prefix grid drive and disc corresponding equivalent group names. Do not forget that all the Exadata storage is allocated to the existing network disks and disk groups - and it is necessary to keep the configuration of the necessary balance and optimize performance. So add and resize the disks of the grid and disk groups are not a trivial task if you have already running on the Exadata DB environments and especially if you have enough of free space in the data and the recommendation to drop the grid of all disks in a failgroup - because it requires the removal of data before you proceed to add and resize network disks. I also met problems with the grid disks that end up forcing you to move the data on resizing disks - even if you think you have enough space for a fall aloo any group fail.

    Be sure to correctly estimate the size of the groups drive - factoring in redundancy, lack of groups and book space to handle the failure of the cell - thus the anticipated growth of the data on disk groups. Because if you run out of space in a disk group, you need to go through the process of resizing of all disks in the grid and groups of disks as a result - or buy an additional extension of Exadata or Exadata storage grids. This is one of the reasons why it is often better to stick with just the data and existing Reco.

    To add new records grid and disk groups and resize other becomes very familiar with the information and follow the steps the section "Resizing storage Griddisks" Ch. 7 user's guide the Exadata Machine as well as the information and examples in the MOS score: ' resizing disks grid Exadata: examples (Doc ID 1467056.1). I also like to refer to MOS often remark "How to add Exadata Storage servers using disks 3 TB for an existing database Machine (Doc ID 1476336.1)" what grid addition of disc or resize operations. The use case may not match, but several steps in this note are useful as discusses adding new disks to grid and treats even to create a new group of disks for occasions when you have discs of cells of different sizes.

    Be sure also to that you stick to Exadata recommended for storage as described in "Oracle Exadata Best Practices (Doc ID 757552.1). For example, the total number of griddisks by server storage for a prefix name given (for example: DATA) must match on all storage servers where the given prefix name exist. Also, for best performance you should have each grid prefix disc and corresponding disk group, spread evenly over each cell storage. You will also need to maintain the integrity of the group fail, separation of groups fail by the bin to the loss of cells without losing data.

    Hope that helps. Good luck!

  • 960 grid system: how to import the grid, or how to save the grid in Muse after build by hand

    Hey people,

    This grid system is a fantastic tool for the new designers: http://960.GS/ - Unfortunately, although it is possible to import in many programs Adobe CC, Muse is not on this list.  So, my question is a two parter:

    (1) is it possible to import this Muse grid system that I haven't found yet?

    (2) if I go throw and integrate it by hand, can I save the checkerboard in Muse?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hello

    In Muse, you can set through the Page Properties, go to the Page Properties > Layout > columns > enter the value you want as the grid system.

    After that the grid system page appears which you can define more by going to view > display the grid overlay.

    Once use you it, when you open the same site he would again show the same grid options.

    Thank you

  • Hand-made backup of data and forms of data grids

    Hi guys,.

    Is it possible to make a backup of the data grids and forms of data manually (that is, without the use of LCM)? I work with a classic application, and I have files for all of the artifacts that were created (.alternance, .app, .rle, etc.).

    Thank you!

    See you soon!

    Easily through the U / I? Nope.

    Plan a.
    ------
    "Easier" option would be to use the hfmCopyApplication utility. (c:\hyperion\financialmanagement\server\HfmCopyApplication.exe). [NOTE: If you have 9 system, don't forget to download/get the system 11 version]

    The system 11 copy app gives you a healthy dose of flexibility in what you actually copy. For example, using the utility you can "copy" just forms/grids to another application. As with all versions of the utility, the application does not have to be in the same database as the source application. The utility works at the database level; Therefore, you don't need the application registered or same HFM running anywhere. All you need is available for utility data bases.

    If it was me, I create a new database file, use the 'copy' schedules or forms in the source application. Can I use the database connection and place the files in your folder structure for the storage. If you need to restore, all you need to do is Mount the database and use the copy utility to push them to an application.

    The major drawback here is that if you really want to look at forms / railings, you will need to register for this request and enter. A little annoying if you need to refer to the actual "source" forms and grids. If you simply need for a 'just in case' backup, it's probably a decent option.

    Plan B
    -----

    Write a script to extract all in the database tables. Excuse me, but I won't go into detail here because I have another post on this somewhere. Here are the important details.

    Tables of importance:

    _RPTS
    _BINARYFILES

    Navigate records in RPT for each record with the appropriate file type value. (3 = shape, 5 = grid)
    -For each matching record, take the EncodedLabel and get BinaryFiles lines where Label = EncodedLabel.
    -The BINARYFILE field has the text of the grid/form. I think it is in Unicode, but I don't remember off the top of my head.
    (NOTE: there may be several rows for an encodedlabel!) The field has a maximum length and if you have a grid or a big enough form, it will be more important and will require several lines. Remember to add together)

    NOTE: For bonus points, look at the ParentEncodedLabel. If you wrote your script well enough, you can use that is automatically create the folder hierarchy as well for you. It would be better than grids/forms spill in a folder on your computer/network.

    Plan C
    --------

    Review the U / I and click on about ten thousand times... Not recommended. Probably easier to curl up in the fetal position and cry yourself to sleep. :)

    Plan D
    --------
    Use the API to script a solution for this. The disadvantage of going directly through the database is that if they ever change the page layout, you have to adjust your scripts. If you use APIs published, in THEORY, these types of changes are extracted from your share as long as the ENTRY and EXIT of the API do not change, utility no matter what you do will work just as well. Sometimes the change in the API to the point where you have to adjust your program anyway, although...

    It's probably the more correct way to this address, SQL scripting is quite simple and is probably easier knock out.

  • Move the "Data Service" volume ZFS on OSX Server

    Hi all
    I would like to move all the data service to a ZFS volume on a Mavericks OSX Server. This option can be found here:
    Server.app-> your server-> settings
    and is called "Data Service". As someone has already done this? It works or what I have to do a manual config, whenever the server restarts?

    Hi all

    So I'll answer my own question.  The answer is no, in fact, the app Server does not detect even the zfs volume.  I also try to cheat and to synchronize the/Library/Server volume ZFS and softlink then the original file to the copy of the zfs volume, but App Server would no longer work.

    Then Mac OS x still don't like ZFS much.

    I reformatted the drive with appleRAID, and then I could move everything using the button in the application.  I noticed that this original file is still there.  If it's really just an arrangement written somewhere.  Anyone know where this parameter is written?  Maybe I could get data on the ZFS drive sync and write this setting by hand.

  • Several colors of background on a GOLD-table fill to draw graphical point * behind * the grid lines

    I have some a matter of aesthetics.

    I wrote a program that displays data for binary files. These binaries have blocks of data, an hour or two. Each piece is a playback window, and there are a handful of reading windows per day.

    The data view is in effect, what I'm working on now is a more intuitive way to choose what data should be displayed.

    My goal is to have a graph of waveform with the X axis represents a day full (0 - hr 24 hr) and is indicated on the chart what time windows are available for review, that is, data have been collected. The background of a "collected" window will be yellow (or another color), while times in the course of which no given is collected will be black. The user will then drag the sliders to select the window of what he or she wants to see the data.

    It was quite easy to achieve by drawing the curve a digital signal (1 for data collected during this period, 0 for no) and point-fill with yellow to zero. My only problem with this solution is that filling point appears on the lines of the grid, that does not look quite right.

    Y at - it an easy way to get the grid to appear at the top of the charts, or is there a way to programmatically set multiple background colors (it could do the same thing)?

    Use the property "draw pictures" and draw your own grid before image.

      • LUN/iSCSI shared CRS 10 g
      • LUN/iSCSI shared DATA 400 G
      • LUN/iSCSI shared FRA 400 G

    My question is?

    How do these iSCSI disks for ASM 12 c?

    Should I format each drive on each node and then oracleasm create discs?

    Please notify.

    BECAUSE two-node Oracle 12 c Grid Infrastructure installed on RHEL6

    I then used fdisk/dev/sda and/dev/sdb, / dev/sdc, which created

    / dev/sdc1

    Initialized oracleasm on both RAC nodes and created the CBC records using the oracleasm createdisk CRS/dev/sda1

    / dev/raw/raw5 gross/dev/sda15

    / dev/raw/raw6 gross/dev/sda16

    /root/test.sh

    STEP 3: REFRESH rc.local or you can RESTART the pc once more

    [root@example Desktop] # /etc/rc.d/rc.local

    DATA AND FRA PROBLEM SOLVED

  • File system for FRA and external backups

    Oracle 11g R2.

    The FRA drive is formatted using Linux x 83 put on Diskgroup + FRA system.

    Backups are stored outside on an ext3 file system.

    Suppose now the database gets completely crashed and I need to recover by continuing external backups.  I will copy the external backups to the + FRA disk and then perform the recovery from there.

    My question is, given that external backups are on ext3 file system, while the FRA is the Oracle ASM filesystem, there will be a problem for the use of the file systems of the two difference?

    Thank you

    Earlier you said "I'll use the + FRA (ASM disk group) for the fast recovery area that holds that archiving multiplexed logs, recovery online logs, and control files.»  Nothing else. »

    Now, I need one more place to hold the copy of the multiplexed logs.

    Wouldn't not on the same + (ABOVE)?  Alternatively, use a disk full-fledged, disk4 (ext3 file system)?

    Thank you

    Scott

    First of all, the reason for multiplexing online redo logs and control files is not the same as that of multiplexing archivelogs. Do it online and the control file are actually a part of the database.  The database will not work without them.  This is why it is so important to have multiplex.  Archivelogs, on the other hand, are part of your backup strategy.  The database itself really doesn't care if you have any archivelogs at all.  The archivelogs multiplexing is much less common.  I have never multiplexed mine, but I do not have a task that runs every hour to copy any newly created on a server off-site.

    If your database is on ASM, at least a control file and a member of each group of redo log must be in ASM.  Technically, is not having to be, but it's really foolish not to do so.  Where to put the second copy?  Probably several schools of thought on this.  If your FRA is on ext3, so it seems a simple decision... a FRA copy, a copy in its default location in ASM.

  • How can I change the columns in the fluid grid to a darker color.  The default color is too gray for me to see them on my screen

    Thanks for any comments I receive. This version is CC2015.

    peoj

    Dreamweaver does not create columns colored for a grid "bootstrap" for good reason: each line has its own set of columns in the layout. So, if you nest a row within another column, the nested line gets a new grid layout of 12 columns (assuming you are using a default grid). Although having a color grid layout looks like a good idea, it would become very difficult to work as soon as you start the nesting of the lines.

    In Live View mode, Dreamweaver adds a handle to resize the column to the right edge of the currently selected column:

    There are also a handful of column Offset on the left edge

    When you drag handles, Dreamweaver snaps to the next column and it will update the .col-*-* or the classes in the display of the item. In the previous screenshot, you can see immediately that the currently selected column is an important feature of 10 columns wide and is offset by a column.

    It takes a little practice to get used to its operation, but it quickly becomes clear what are the columns of size without the distraction of a color to the background grid.

    I am new guy on RAC environment. When you try to install Oracle RAC on the local environment, I had this problem:

    I use two virtual machines in vmware. After running root.sh on the first node, I checked and found this funny information:

  • Dreamweaver CC - I need hands on coaching. Where should I go for it?

    I need hands on assistance and coaching. I need to share my screen with an expert to show me what to do to make this work. I've been good to Dreamweaver CS3, which was more intuitive to understand myself, but the creation of the sensitive site, I need even if the mastery of this new version of Dreamweaver CC (I've got 2014 CC and CC 20141) is beyond my skills. Telephone support Adobe will not help me further with this, also CAT said they can't do it for me either. Where should I go for this type of assistance?

    I am updating a Web site I did years ago in Dreamweaver CS3. There has got to be reactive in office, Tablet and mobile phone. Adobe technical support helped me to make a fluid grid presentation, 3 sizes of jpg images, I did for the homepage work, but I can't get the navigation customized, that I need to work. Home page uses the image full screen with superimposed at the bottom icons which are used for navigation. I created this in Photoshop, but I also did versions of fireworks that change the images of the icons on the mouse overview, links to other pages by clicking on. Created 3 jpg in Photoshop that I can use for the site if Fireworks files are incompatible in fluid grid. I also have 3 .htm files from Fireworks for three sizes: Desktop - 1900 x 1267, Tablet - 1152 x 768, Cell - 480 x 800, at 72 dpi. The Fireworks files have icon second state images that switch to move the mouse.  I can't get the FW files to work in fluid grid. Technical support told me that FW files cannot be sensitive unless I have write the custom CSS code manually.  Otherwise, I tried to create interactive image and hotspots on the image of the front page in DW CC 20141 Adobe forum said that hotspots only are not supported in this version of DW - then took their recommendation and downloaded & installed DW 2014. Was able to create hotspots with links to other pages using DW 2014 but when I saw in the browser that everything is messed up. Fluid grid image sizes are all visible tiles instead of resizing with versicles with the size of the screen as they did before I made the hot spots.

    Yet once again, I need hands on help for many problems. Thanks to indicate where to go for you help, thank you!

    Coding of the adapted web sites requires a good understanding of the CSS media and HTML5 syntax.

    I think you need to take a course structured in responsive web design.  If you try to recreate your old site adapted, you must first understand what works and what does not work in the provisions of width %.

    Dreamweaver tutorials from lynda.com

    Image maps aren't going to work well because the hotspot regions will not resize with the image.   Fireworks could be good to create models and images for your site, but this is not a good tool for the construction of sensitive sites & navigation elements.  The code is much too rigid and unstable.

    I think you should also be familiar with the appropriate frameworks available on the web.  They can help you achieve your goals of project in ways you might not already examined.

  • Dreamweaver CC fluid grid divs do not stretch to cover 100% of the screen

    Hello

    I do another sensible provision using DW CC and I came across a problem.

    Design colored divs that spans the entire page to 100% with a background color and borders.

    I already did the design upwards as a layout width fixed to get the color codes etc. and that works well, with colors that covers the screen.

    Now, I'm putiing design in DW CC using checkerboard to fluid and there is a white border on the Web site.

    I can't work on how to get rid of this. Here are excerpts from my two lots of CSS stylesheets, one for a presentation grid fixed and one for a structure reactive

    CSS FIXED WIDTH

    body, td, th {}

    do-family: Calibri;

    do-size: 14px;

    Color: #000;

    }

    {body

    left margin: 0px;

    margin-top: 0px;

    margin-right: 0px;

    margin-bottom: 0px;

    }

    * / The wrapper header spans the entire screen no matter what size and does not have a white border on the left and the right

    {#headerWrapper}

    background-color: #000;

    height: 101px;

    Width: 100%;

    margin-right: auto;

    left margin: auto;

    border-bottom-width: 2px;

    border-bottom-style: solid;

    border-bottom-color: #BDDB6D;

    }

    FLUID GRID CSS

    The fluid layout grid CSS has the following in it:

    {.fluid}

    Clear: both;

    left margin: 0;

    Width: 100%;

    float: left;

    display: block;

    }

    {.fluidList}

    list-style: none;

    list-style-image: none;

    margin: 0;

    padding: 0;

    }

    / * Mobile layout: 480px and below. */

    {.gridContainer}

    left margin: auto;

    margin-right: auto;

    Width: 86,45%;

    padding-left: 2,275%;

    padding-right: 2,275%;

    Clear: none;

    float: none;

    }

    {#div1}

    }

    * / This header wrapper extends through the presentation of the grid only and has a white border on the left and the right

    {#headerWrapper}

    Max-width: 100%;

    height: 101px;

    background-color: #000;

    border-bottom-width: 2px;

    border-bottom-style: solid;

    border-bottom-color: #BDDB6D;

    }

    What do I need add to the fluid grid layout to make the headerWrapper div span the screen, no matter what width?

    What should I put in the grid CSS transmissions so that he can do that?

    Thanks in advance!

    I did it! I can't believe. The code I used is followed. The bar divs set color and at the border through the entire page and the wrapper divs to contain content in the various bars across the page.

    I must say that DW CC fluid grids are much more stable to work with and it can take a lot of coding by hand now. This is a great improvement on when I tried to use grids of fluid on a project last year.
