Hand-made backup of data and forms of data grids

Hi guys,.

Is it possible to make a backup of the data grids and forms of data manually (that is, without the use of LCM)? I work with a classic application, and I have files for all of the artifacts that were created (.alternance, .app, .rle, etc.).

Thank you!

See you soon!

Easily through the U / I? Nope.

Plan a.
------
"Easier" option would be to use the hfmCopyApplication utility. (c:\hyperion\financialmanagement\server\HfmCopyApplication.exe). [NOTE: If you have 9 system, don't forget to download/get the system 11 version]

The system 11 copy app gives you a healthy dose of flexibility in what you actually copy. For example, using the utility you can "copy" just forms/grids to another application. As with all versions of the utility, the application does not have to be in the same database as the source application. The utility works at the database level; Therefore, you don't need the application registered or same HFM running anywhere. All you need is available for utility data bases.

If it was me, I create a new database file, use the 'copy' schedules or forms in the source application. Can I use the database connection and place the files in your folder structure for the storage. If you need to restore, all you need to do is Mount the database and use the copy utility to push them to an application.

The major drawback here is that if you really want to look at forms / railings, you will need to register for this request and enter. A little annoying if you need to refer to the actual "source" forms and grids. If you simply need for a 'just in case' backup, it's probably a decent option.

Plan B
-----

Write a script to extract all in the database tables. Excuse me, but I won't go into detail here because I have another post on this somewhere. Here are the important details.

Tables of importance:

_RPTS
_BINARYFILES

Navigate records in RPT for each record with the appropriate file type value. (3 = shape, 5 = grid)
-For each matching record, take the EncodedLabel and get BinaryFiles lines where Label = EncodedLabel.
-The BINARYFILE field has the text of the grid/form. I think it is in Unicode, but I don't remember off the top of my head.
(NOTE: there may be several rows for an encodedlabel!) The field has a maximum length and if you have a grid or a big enough form, it will be more important and will require several lines. Remember to add together)

NOTE: For bonus points, look at the ParentEncodedLabel. If you wrote your script well enough, you can use that is automatically create the folder hierarchy as well for you. It would be better than grids/forms spill in a folder on your computer/network.

Plan C
--------

Review the U / I and click on about ten thousand times... Not recommended. Probably easier to curl up in the fetal position and cry yourself to sleep. :)

Plan D
--------
Use the API to script a solution for this. The disadvantage of going directly through the database is that if they ever change the page layout, you have to adjust your scripts. If you use APIs published, in THEORY, these types of changes are extracted from your share as long as the ENTRY and EXIT of the API do not change, utility no matter what you do will work just as well. Sometimes the change in the API to the point where you have to adjust your program anyway, although...

It's probably the more correct way to this address, SQL scripting is quite simple and is probably easier knock out.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • I am concerned about the use of the data necessary to ensure backing up my iPhone, the iPad and the powermac cloud. We are on a 20 GB/month plan with our internet provider and had $50 in excess costs last month due to the clouds to backup my phone and IP

Help! I'm on a limited data plan (20 GB/month) and had $50 in excess charges the month last because of the iCloud backup my iPhone and my iPad from one day to the next. This consumed approximately 15 GB backup overnight. Is it possible to program these backups, so I'm not on my data allowance? • Need to backup all programs and files without the System Image

    Hi all

Recently, I myself in a dilemma. I installed 4 additional disks with the intention of creating a RAID volume supported by the BIOS. To do this, I need to change the BIOS setting of the controller which includes all the volumes, including my boot drive (that I don't intend to RAID). The problem I have is that when I pass the UEFI to RAID controller, Windows Recovery will not use the System Image I did. He said that the volume was created under a different arrangement (Bios vs. EFI).

What are my options? Is there a different backup setting, which allows to keep all my installed software? I am not concerned with the data that I can copy it to an external volume, but it would take several days to get all of my software reinstalled. I would like to avoid this. I guess I'll have to reinstall Windows Pro 8.1 and then use a backup program to restore everything. If this is the case, then I need to know which backup program will work. If there is a better way, I would like to know. I see my options in the form, get another backup program, get a map of controller for the boot drive or the RAID volume or just reinstall.

    Thank you

  • Firefox leaves behind cookies and form history and research?

I have Firefox value Never don't forget no form & search history, delete cookies after closing, delete the cache after closing. However, if I do and scan with Ccleaner I notice that Firefox seems to leave behind the cache, cookies, and form data? Why is it not completely eliminated? They are just empty files?

SQLite files are never deleted or size reduced if the content is removed, so you can not tell by their presence if all data are left in it.
There may be some records marked as being removed still left in the file that would not display in the user interface.
You will need to check the files with a hex viewer to check that.

I don't know about the cache of the jumplist.
    You may disable this feature.

  • Backup both iCloud and Mac iOS devices?

I went to a Genius Bar appointment today where the genius told me I can't back up my devices iOS by connected directly to my Mac. He said that the backup to iCloud over wifi is the same thing and I need to do both. He said if I've changed devices, I could do the restoration completely to iCloud, I don't have to restore from a Mac or time Machine.

Can it be true? What applications I, who hold their own data? Can I count on iTunes store up to iCloud?

Secondly, whenever I plug in my device iOS directly on my mac, iTunes/Photos wonder if I want to import a large number of photos, and then I end up with duplicates in my library of Photos.

Of course, it is true. Since the launch of iCloud, Apple gives you the ability to save your iCloud or your like before Mac iOS devices. The advantage to backup your iPhone to iCloud, is that a backup is performed automatically when you load your iPhone and it is connected to a Wi - Fi network. See-> about backups in iCloud and iTunes - Apple Support

Note that you can do iCloud backups backups and iTunes at the same time if you wish. When you plug your iPhone to your Mac, iTunes will keep the possibility to make a local backup if you want to.

Regarding your second question, I suggest to create a second thread with it, so that you don't mess this thread with different themes. This will allow people with the same issue find the answer quickly.

  • Button DELETE BACKUP on iPhone and iPad.  What it means?

I've recently set up my iPhone and iPad to save on iCloud with the help of the iPad CSA.  After reviewing the two parameters of iCloud, I found some articles that I felt to be odd.  (1.) I started to save manually (using Save button) my iPad, but had to stop.  Now is no longer the backup button appears and is replaced by the BACKUP to DELETE.  The devices now show the same key.  I didn't click on button the fear I might screw something up that I will not be able to recover from.  I made a mistake by stopping the manual backup?  (2.) there is an entry of the LAST BACKUP on both my IOS devices.  Last entry from iPhone backup-> yesterday (what she said on the last day of little), the last backup of the iPad-> NEVER.  How will I know if a backup has been performed?  I read notifications that alert me Inorder for the backup device must be attached to a source of energy (I guess that the device load) and connected to WIFi, which have done.

IAm sorry I'm asking these questions.  I'm new to the iCloud and because I just inherited my son's iPhone.  IPad recommended CSA I backup icloud because I asked if the devices can communicate with each other.

Thank you in advance and if you know of any Apple document would still be to educate about iCloud, I would like to know those also

    I thank again,

    Darrell

Deleting a backup should not affect your devices. Try storage of settings/iCloud/Storage/manage to see if the backup appear here.

  • Move the Windows Backup system image and backup to a new hard disc

    Hi all

I got a new external hard drive because my old external hard drive was not large enough to hold all my backups.  Now, I would like to move the backup from the old hard drive to the new hard drive.  It is really easy to start from scratch on the new drive, but about two months ago of backup history on the old disk I want to keep if I can.  Also, I can't figure this out on my own because it seems that the backups are stored in hidden or system files, or which are prohibited and require special authentication.

Can someone help me find the location of the backups on my old hard drive?  Or is there something I should do in Windows that will transfer the data for me?

    Thank you very much!

    Kevin

The name of the folder that store all backups of your image is: X:\WindowsImageBackup\

Where X: is the drive letter of the external drive.

If you also created backups of files and folders these are also easily spotted. If for some reason you can't locate/view this file enable "Show hidden folders and files" in Windows Explorer.

  • BlackBerry BACKUP OF EMAILS and CONTACTS software

Hello - I'm still working my way around my new Z10 BB and now faced with the backup of my emails and contacts. I installed BB connection on my desktop and tried to back up my music, photos and videos, but can't see it on my desktop folder ... I also want to back up my emails and contacts, but I do not see where to do that. Previously, I had BB 9900 and the backup was simple and fast... Please help me solve my problems of backup.  Thank you very much.

    Hello

The backup process is simple. If you perform a full backup, all your data is included in the files that will be created on your PC. If you perform a partial backup (there are 3 available selections), then you select should be included in the backup files. But in any case these backup files must be "readable"... rather, they are encrypted and encoded, with their sole purpose being to be used as a source for a restoration that becomes necessary.

Indeed, the granularity of the backup/restore process is as much as possible with legacy devices and the desktop software. This is the way it is, at least for now.

    Good luck!
