You don't need, because the ability to do so is now integrated into
Windows. A compressed file appears to you as a file, and you can
Open the file (unzip) all as you would for any real folder.

  • In the associated file zip file is missing. How to restore?

    Hello

My OS is Vista Home Premium SP2.

Recently, I confused a zip for a .rar file.  I changed the file association by default for zip to a rar program that I downloaded.  When I discovered my mistake I deleted the default rar to zip file program.  Subsequently every zip file I extracted gave rise to a simple white icon with the name of the file, and when you click on products a popup that read Windows could not open the file.  When I checked the associations to file again, I discovered .zfsendtotarget with a plain white icon and unknown Application as default file and no Zip file.

I found a Microsoft article in Google which offers the download file Association Fixer to fix the default value of the zip file.  After reboot everything was as it had been.  Another suggested article I'm doing a sfc/scannow high that would find and fix and Vista issues.  I did the scannow but he pointed out that he has not found any breach of integrity.

I hesitate a moment lost and to be honest to try something more because of my limited computer knowledge.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

You have no need to set the binding for 7-zip.

Once you have installed, right-click on a compressed file... 7-zip will be on the list from the context menu, click on it... Click on extract files... just follow the guests to complete the extraction.

    It's very simple. Try again.

  • Default program - ZIP files

I have a weird problem with Vista. Adobe Reader has been changed somehow, the default program for .zip files. I don't know how it happened, but I don't seem to be able to cancel it. The only thing I can do is to change the default program to something else, but I do not see all of the options for "unassociating" or run. Any ideas how to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

Right-click on the ZIP file, Save Target as..., download the REG file to the desktop. Right click on the REG file and choose merge (allow). Note that you must be an administrator to apply these fixes.

If this is too long, try a system restore.
Choose the date where you did not have this problem as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type System Restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  • Download of any .zip file or program causes the Crash

    (1) sometimes when a download is completed with a .zip file, immediately after Internet Explorer Startup 'windows' loading violently on 2s, little white, black. Now there is no mouse so not menu Manager or task or the possibility of restart begins. He not only put there turned off or unplug, rest, restart in safe mode.

    (2) sometimes if you download without immediate action that precedes, I'll go to my download folder in Windows Explorer and if the named file.zip#/ is there with success, then click left just to highlight or do right click to click Open, the same frenzy described above again.

Now, I've noticed that the loading window, was after clicking to select this .zip file, what should happen on the Solution Explorer toolbar is the word "Extract" appears. Well, I get the Internet Explorer of the e icon instead. That's when I knew I'm in big trouble. If you don't touch the file with the mouse, then try clicking on the arrow next to the e Internet Explorer in the toolbar, the frenzy of loading will begin and continue until power off. It's the classes .zip file not just one, as I have tried a dozen different one is now in the last week or two. I have no malware or viruses. Where this kind of problem would be located?

  • Program used in Windows 7 to open Zip files

Downloaded zip files.  Accidentally tried 'open with' windows photo viewer.   All of the changed files zip.  Cannot find what program to use as the default value for the zip files now.   Tried several that are matched in 'open with', but did not work, and when I watched, I didn't know what to try.   Can anyone help?  I checked the settings in the Control Panel, but I don't know we can do to bring back the zip files, so I can check out them.

    Hi PoJo1

    Go to the following site.

Difficulties of file Association for Windows 7

In the file types list, right-click on the "Zip" type and select Save target under... Download the file to the desktop.

Go to the desktop, click on the zip_fix_w7.reg file and select the Merge option. If you get a pop-up message on the registry, select OK to merge.

This will refresh the built-in zip functions.

    I hope this helps.

Thank you for using Windows 7

    Hi again,

You can still install, make sure just that take care you of your images, and your personal files and then go for the installation of Windows 10, 64-bit.

All you need to do to re-setup is to download the Adobe Creative cloud application and then you can install LR and PS since the Application itself.

No need to pay again, it will recognize your id and password and allow you to download the applications that you are already a member of the subscription.

Press ENTER.  Click Start, then in the type field search
