0xc000000e - required device is inaccessible
Midel - Pavilion dv4-2165dx
I am computer repoair of my daughter-in-law. When turn on he immediatey goes to "Windows Error Recovery". After selecting 'Launch Startup Repair', he goes to the "Windows Boot Manager" who tells me to insert the windows installation disc, and then restart the computer. This screen also shows error 0xc000000e.
After you insert the installation disc (I had to order from HP), I power cycle the computer and it brings back me just to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".
* I checked the Bios (F10 at startup) and everything seems normal.
* I tried recovering system (F11 at startup); I see the message "Go to System Recovery" in the lower left, but close up to the screen "Windows Error Recovery".
* I ran quick test and full on the HDD and via Bios diagnostics memoery test - all past
* Vendor. Insyde BIOS; BIOS version - F05
I'd appreciate any ideas of what this forum can provide.
Thank you
So, thinking that the computer has been infected by a virus that attacked the MBR, I started looking on the web for a free tool to check and repair the hard drive. I found some Mini Partition Wizard tool [http://www.partitionwizard.com/partition-wizard-bootable-cd.html], downloaded their software, and using a free ISO Burner [http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/ht/burnisofile.htm] created a bootable DVD. Then, I started with this DVD and was not surprised at what I saw on the configuration of the hard drive. After repairing partitions, I was able to boot from the installation disk that I received from HP and the files are now restored as I type this.

Presario CQ61-312SA boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
I get the message "boot selection failed because a required device is unreachable" on my computer laptop presario CQ61-312SA. I don't have the CD containing the disks but I do not have a premium Windows 7, 32 and 64-bit family OS disk. I tried to restore to former factory settings using f11 which does not reach 50%.
Hello
As I see that the hard drive on your unit has failed you need to replace the hard drive, then reinstall the operating system on your device then only unit will return to operational status.
If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.
Let us know how it goes!

computer HP laptop dv6 boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible
I run two recovery disks and then it says insert the disc of supplement (applications and drivers of recovery CD) once I have insert this disc it runs for a few seconds and then appears the disk. The screen goes black and then comes up with the error above.
Hello
The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.
The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 69 of your & Maintenance Guide.
Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive.
If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.
http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00810334
If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.
Kind regards

the boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible
Hello
I give my 15 years old nephew an old laptop so I am trying to run a system recovery and restore it to its original state factory.
As soon as I clicked on Recovery Manager > System Recovery > restore to their original factory condition, I get a screen with this message Windows Boot Manager:
Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To solve the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer. (don't have)
2. choose your language settings, and then click "next".
3. click on "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc contact the Adminitrator's manufacturer or a computer in your system.
Status: Oxc0000225
Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is not accessible.
Is there a way to get around this. I would get to it as soon as possible, but I want to wipe all my info beforehand.
Thank you!
Karen
try to perform the recovery by using the partition. boot f11 and recovery manager must take over. If not, or if the process does not finish successfully, perform a large hard drive. If the test successfully you will need to order a copy of your HP recovery disk.
as an alternative, you can create a new admin account and simply delete your existing account after.
hope this helps

I added a school e-mail account to my passport, which reqirered the phone to be password protected. I hate to enter a password every time I do on my phone. I deleted the e-mail account of the phone in the hope to do away with the login password, but it did not work. The phone does not allow me to disable the device password and wrote "political COMPUTER requires device to put password" below the option to turn on/off the device password. A required device is not connected or cannot be accessed error on startup blue screen
I have a PC laptop Toshiba Satelite P75-A7200 w / CORE i7 that had been working well until I got a wild hair update to Win 8.1 since then that I was getting an error warning ' criticism of the process died ", I have not been able to get into safe mode and tried to change it w / without success. Now, when I try to turn on my computer the Toshiba logo appears then a blue screen error message "a required device is not connected or is not accessible", then it turns off after a minute or less. I created recovery disks when I bought this computer, but they do nothing. I am not very computer but can follow directions.

HP Pavilion g4-1117dx laptop computer 4 GB, Win 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit running
Tried to boot into the recovery environment through the HP Recovery Manager (v 2.0.9.0 Rebecca.exe 3/25/12)
However, I get to the Windows Boot Manager screen that says error 0xc000000e - device is not accessible
I scanned the partition HP_TOOLS for errors, including an analysis of the sector, but it does detect any errors.
FYI - I have repair disks that I created. Is it possible to repair or recover only the partition HP_TOOLS?
Just to be clear, the problem is with my Recovery partion only. Win 7 in main boot works fine.
Suggestions to fix or repair, please?
Don't know what else to suggest other than using recovery discs to reinstall. If you have recovery disks, the recovery partition is not really necessary, more a convenience than using disks, that's all.

My gadget usb audio has two "playback devices" and a "recording device".
It works with the usbaudio.sys driver, but I want to give each channel separate namespaces.
I found a way in windows 7 to rename the audio device using UI actions (right click, properties, etc.), but I want to do it via usb enumeration, instead of requiring the user to do.
USB enumeration has a "output terminal device", which has different categories of devices, but these don't map with different names.
1. is there a a way to change the name of an audio playback and the recording device using the usb enumeration data?
2. can I do this automatically on a usb hotplug?
3. an INF file help?
4. or I have to write my own driver to rename playback and recording devices?
Thank you

Airport utility requires "device password"?
While trying to install on my iPad airport utility I wonder the "peripheral" password (' which may be different from the network password"). I tried the network password, but it wasn't the right one? What is the password for the device?
You previously installed a router Apple AirPort using your Mac?
If so, you establish a Base Station, or the password for the device for the router in the airport as well as a wireless network password.
Do you still have the Mac?
