How can I find my model number or product number?

I understand that you can connect to your network with a cable but not wireless, as the orange rest button.

You have the cable connected when you try to connect wirelessly?

If so, disconnect the cable and try again as you can't have both at the same time.

Go to the Device Manager unplug the ethernet cable.

If the wireless adapter is not listed, try searching for the hardware changes?

Here is a link to the HP - troubleshooting your wireless network computers and Internet (Windows 7) that should help you too.

  • WiFi button remains orange / does not work

My HP Pavilion Notebook PC g4 has trouble with the WiFi button. Usually, the button remains orange and does not respond by pressing. Rarely, when I turn on the laptop, the button is blue, but the laptop freezes as soon as I try to do anything. I tried to do a hard reset, update driver, uninstall the device in Device Manager, and nothing worked.

Here are the specifications of my laptop:

    Product number: LW338UA #ABA

Name of the WiFi card: Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller

    Driver Version number: 7.34.1130.2010

Version number of the BIOS: F. 22

Please let me know what you think I should do. Thanks in advance!

    Ivan V.

Yes, I think it would be the only other choice you have.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Chapter 4 will have removal and replacement procedures.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03137358.PDF

Try two things before buying a replacement card:

    1. do a hard reset of the laptop to see if it gets the card appears.

Link to get instructions on conduct which is below.

    http://h10010.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us & LC = on & DLC = in & docname = c01684768

    2. Remove and reinsert the current wireless card.  Maybe an oxidized connection?

If the steps above fail to get the wireless card appears, then I just get the part number and order the same.

The part number will normally be on a sticker white and arranged as such: #-#.

It is very important that purchase one of wireless cards supported listed in the service manual for your laptop (Chapter 3).

They must be part of HP on the map number or it will not work.

If the replacement of the wireless card fails to correct the problem, the motherboard has failed somehow.

  • Wireless button remains orange. Lights on.

Hi there, I'm having some problems with my laptop recently. The wireless won't turn on no and stays out of little matter how many times I press the button of the wireless switch which is above the keyboard, remaining always this color orange relics indicating that the wireless is disabled.

Number and name of the product: Compaq Presario CQ50-215 - 215 CA

Operating system: Windows Vista 32 - bit OEM

(As appropriate) error message : error no. a little. First time I press the wireless button, the popup Assistant wireless HP says "WLAN: Off '. I have a second time and wrote "WLAN: Disabled" and the cycle repeats when I press on it a bunch of times.

Any changes made to your system before the issue occurred: that's what I think the problem is a few days before my wireless doesn't work anymore, I had my battery disconnected and just running off the AC adapter. My father accidentally disconnected my AC while it was spend vacuuming the living room. At the STATION, I got a cmos checksum error message. Computer started normally with an incorrect time/date in the bios, but at the time when internet was still functioning. Fast forward to a few days later, my wireless and then stops working.

    Other info/Thins, I tried

-J' I goto manage network connections-> there is a red x on my wireless network connection icon but on click right he said he his 'active' with only the option to disable. Click on diagnose and he said: "on this computer's wireless capability is turned off."

-J' I goto the Atheros AR5007 802. 11 b / g WiFi adapter properties screen and the device status says "this device is working properly.

-I go into the Device Manager and theres no "!" or whatever it is on my network cards.

-Tried to get into the bios and see if there was something on my adapter wireless that has been disabled, but the only thing I could find was an option in the boot order allowing to map internal network starts when the laptop starts. Tried to activate / deactivate options, and nothing really happened.

-I can still take an ethernet cable and I work ok on my Wired internet.

-Tried to uninstall the driver/restart the computer. Upon restart, it reinstalled the drivers but the wireless still won't turn.

At this point, for me, it seems that it is a hardware problem and kinda outta luck. Had this laptop about 3 years and a little really need yet for the school. Can anyone suggest what I can still check/fix?

try to reinstall your wireless card... thiscould help to make...

  • HP Elitebook 8560p: Windows 10: Elitebook 8560p; WiFi button is not working, Wifi - and internal 3G modem does not work

    OS: Windows 10.0 (build 10240)

I've updated HP Elitebook 8560p of Windows7 (64-bit) for Windows 10. The upgrade process was successful. Later, I noticed, Wifi and 3 G-internal modem does not work. Sametime, I noticed, that old HP Connection Manager has been uninstalled (or lost?).

The problem is basically this: Wifi - and connections 3G internal modem does not work. I noticed, that wifi-button has "orange" color and the button does not work? I can't change the Wifi status parameters at the level of the OS of Off to On. That's why assume that the wifi module is on "off"-"State. I found the driver SP7107 (driver Wifi for Windows 10 button) package and I tried to install it. The installion failed because InstallDriver_64, location failed. (In Finnish language. Toiminto InstallDriver_64, may c:\...\WirelessbuttonDriver.inf' / installdrv/force). Is there an instruction manual to install the driver?

I'm very confused and I don't know really, what is the first cause of the wifi - 3 g-modem internal questions and. I guess, this wifi button is not about root work.

Can someone clarify why there are not more HP Connection Manager on Windows 10 and I tried to install, but install cancelled due to bad BONES. How can I manage wifi - and States of modem 3g without it?

    If anyone can help?

    A big thank you!

  • Laptop computer wifi button won't stay not blue at startup.

The wifi button is orange while booting. It turns blue for a second and back to orange. When windows is running, the button is always orange and if I push the button twice will turn on. Only after I twice the push button. It's something new. I reinstalled windows and it did not fix it. I am running windows 7 home on a Compaq Presario CQ60 US420. I tried 4 times to reinstall the driver, and it does not set it. The bios has possibility to check and see if it is not set by default to be on.

    Hello

Reinstallation of the operating system has failed to correct the problem, it is unlikely that this is caused by an application or a service misconfigured - it still occurred as soon as the first Image was recovered or after Windows updates or service pack has been applied?

You mention that it is a new issue.  Were there any event that you can recall have started this behavior?

You have installed HP Wireless Assistant?  If so, make sure that all the devices that control are defined on and then uninstall the application.  Reboot and see if that makes a difference.

    Kind regards

  • Laptop HP 15-r022tx - Wifi Button doesn't work is not (Bluetooth too)

    Hello team,

HP 15 - r022tx Notebook PC button wifi of this model does not work. so I can't connect to internet via wifi.

Is there any particular wifi driver to install?

My Version of the OS: Win 7 32 bit

Note: The Wifi button continues to blink with orange led light. So am confused if the wifi is on or not. I installed most of the drivers of hp.

    Please update this question.

See if this driver Intel graphics works rather... old version...

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23714&lang=eng&ProdId=3719

If the Intel driver works, you should then be able to install the nvidia driver.

Try an earlier version of the driver ralink wireless card...

  • iPhone6 the wifi button does not illuminate.  I want to download the new update.  I restarted the phone, my router is active.

    iPhone 6 with iOS9.3.4.

WiFi button does not illuminate.  I rebooted the phone.  How can I make this button of the device?

You can always update your firmware with iTunes. But it seems you might have a larger, likely hardware problem with your phone.

Try to restore the firmware with iTunes. If this does not help, make an appointment with a genius at the Apple Store.

  • HP EliteBook 8560p: can not turn on WiFi: the button is orange, and nothing happens when you press

    Hello

I have a problem with my wifi. The button always orange and nothing happens when I press on it: no errors, no message, no reaction at all. This is why I can't use WiFi.

The laptop is a little new: I use only 2 months.

    1. number and product name

    HP EliteBook 8560p
    НР LQ589AW

2 operating system installed (if applicable)

    Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

    3. error message (if any)

    No error message

    4. all changes made to your system until the problem occurred

My windows crashed and I got it from archive created a few days ago. Archive includes all data from hard drives, the system has been restored exactly as it was before the accident. I still don't know if this caused the problem (or if the problem occurred after that): it happened a month ago, and I had no WiFi available at the time and only tried to turn it on a few days ago.

    Additional details:

In device manager wireless card is appearing as functioning normally. In the management of the adapter Wi - Fi is on but says "no connection available. If I run diagnostic tests, he asks me to activate WIFI with a button on my laptop, which I can't do. In Mobility Center, it says "connection Wi - Fi is turned off". Activate the button is gray and impossible to click on.

    I already tried things:

    1. Reinstalled all the HP drivers from original CD.
    2. Card WiFi removed in the windows Device Manager (remove device), restarted windows, installed new drivers for it, rebooted again;
    3. Checked the mobility Center as suggested in one of the threads available on this forum;
    4. Do a hard reset for HP laptop (battery removed, push the button and hold for a minute).

    Thanks for any help!

    Anatoliy.

I managed to solve the problem...

Turns out that the problem was (apparently) caused by HP Power Assistant tool shipped with my laptop. Default profile has been showing the gray bluetooth and WiFi, and it was not possible to turn them on. I created a new profile, and even if all the parameters are identical to the default profile, it allows me to turn the BT and WiFi and turn off without any problems. Button is working fine now as well and goes from blue to orange when I press it. Active WiFi and it works.

    I hope this helps.

I was offered an upgrade of windows 10 on my laptop that is running windows 7, but my wifi button was not working when I installed 10 windows so I started 7 what can I do? It is an Acer Aspire 5920 G (old enough)

There could be a problem with the wifi driver that comes with Windows 10. I think that you first need to find the right driver for Windows 10 on the Acer site. Otherwise, you may need to install a usb wireless card.
