14 - ac107na: keyboard unresponsive

Hello

Newbie here, but I'd be grateful for any help whatsoever, please.

I bought my daughter 14-ac107na laptop for Christmas and it worked fine until yesterday, when it took a lot of time to do an update.  Now, when you turn on, it gets to the screen which shows just a photo (the one before the password entry screen) and we cannot get on the password screen without using a mouse, once there the keyboard is unresponsive and, therefore, we cannot move forward!  Have tried to use the mouse to access the screen keyboard, but that does not work either.

Any ideas anyone?

Thank you

Uninstalled Mplayer, no dice.  But a relocation with the restore image set.  Hate to do without finding the root cause.  I hope that the problems not more inexplicable.  Other than this problem, HP seems to have a winner with this machine.

  • Keyboard unresponsive - Satellite Pro M30

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite Pro M30. The keyboard responds more fully. When I turn on the laptop and when it ask me to login credentials I'm simply not able to enter, nothing happens when the buttons are pressed.

I have re-installed the unit using the CD of restoration but no luck. Interestingly, when I put the laptop in sleep mode, and when she returns to the normal mode, the keys work for a few seconds. If I kill the explorer.exe and launch a new, key works also for a while.

Because the keys work when the computer comes out of standby, the keyboard is not completely dead/failure. My OS is XP Pro SP2.

    Help, please.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sanjay Kay

    Hello

The best way to check the functionality of the device is to preinstall the original recovery CD or DVD unit. As I see you have already done this.

If the problem persists, I suppose that there is a hardware problem. I put t know if the unit is new or used one, but you should contact the customer Service of your country partner and explain the situation. Guaranteed valid will cover all costs if some of the material is defective and should be replaced.

  • M30 keyboard unresponsive

    Salvation;

My keybord Satellite M30 works very well until the system restarts. I can't go to setup (F2) or boot options (F8)
but once that XP starts loading the keyboard no longer responds.
    This medication else seems OK.
I just do a fresh install and it went well. I reinstalled the system, Office, Antivirus and everithing was working well. This pc has worked for over a year with this exact configuration without any problem.

After a while this keyboard suddenly stopped responding. Even the caps lock won't go online. But it will work again to restart just before windows starts loading.

Someone has an idea what is the cause?

    Hello

Well, I m not a technician, but it seems the keyboard or other hardware is defective. :(
In this case, the only good way is to contact the ASP because it has detailed information on these pieces.

  • Satellite M40X - keyboard unresponsive

    Hello
My laptop keyboard is not responding. I can not connect, if I set the restore disc and press on 'C' by following the instructions it happens with the Bios setup and I can't navigate through the options with the arrow keys. On the login at startup screen I can right click on the password box and it displays Unincode options that None are checked? and ideas please!

    Hello

I guess you want to boot from the disk?
By pressing the "F2" immediately after the laptop from you should be able to get into the BIOS!
There you should be able to change the boot order.

But if you crazy keyboard running, I recommend to connect an external one and test it.
But I think that if keyboard problem and you won't be able to use it if you need to replace the keyboard internal.

On my Tecra friends the cursor jumped around and he wasn't able to use the keyboard.
The end of the story, that he replaced the keyboards and everything was ok.

    Method 1.
I would ask you to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard. In addition, if there is any software installed for the keyboard it is recommended to uninstall and reinstall that.

  • Mouse Wireless Dell Inspiron 2320 & keyboard unresponsive

So today, I discovered that the mouse and keyboard no longer work with the all-in-one device, I.  I replaced the batteries and also hooked to a keyboard and a wired mouse.  If I launch the Dell and press F2 or F12 I can use the wireless keyboard, but once the system is in place at the main screen I can not connect using keystrokes or mouse.  Can someone please respond and tell me what I should do next.  I checked the forum, but did nothing found and went to the support site and found nothing more.  I need to get the device upwards, but not sure where to go next.

Thanks in advance for support or a response to this post.

Are the totally separate keyboard and mouse or do they share a single or shared USB connection?  Have you tried one or several different USB 2 ports?

Was this an upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a clean install of win 10 (what version)?

    Try this for starters:

    1. Turn off and unplug the cable from the PC, not just the wall
    2. Disconnect all external devices, including the mouse and the keyboard, including wireless dongle, if used
    3. Power button press / hold for about 30 seconds
    4. Reconnect the only USB mouse and keyboard (try wireless, if who preferred)
    5. Reconnect the power cord to PC
    6. Reset

  • keyboard does not not when filling out the forms of web of wi - fi

    Hi all

I have a very strange problem and I hope someone can help me to solve it.

When I try to connect to a public wireless network (example: I'm currently staying in a hotel and connect to hotel WiFi in my room)-I have to fill out the mandatory wi - fi (username & password) to access the internet through the hotel wi-fi.

My 5s iphone detects the wi - fi network and once I chose the particular network hotel wi-fi to join in setings, automatic logon forms just asking me to enter username/password hotel provided.

When I try to enter the user name - my keyboard becomes TOTALLY INSENSIBLE! I can't fill my username information at all. The keyboard appears on screen - but nothing on the keyboard working!

When I move to the password field - all right. The keyboard starts responding and I am able to fill in the password. The keyboard becomes normal.

I've now faced this problem in 2 different hotels and a hospital - all these places gave me a name of user and password I need to fill in the login screen to use their wi - fi connection. I still have the same problem.

I'm having this problem on iOS 9.1 and 9.2 (my wife's phone and my phone). We both use iphone 5s.

    Can someone pls!

    Hi bigbalooka,

If the iPhone keyboard unresponsive or crashes

    • Make sure that you are running the latest iOS Version
      • Settings > general > software update
        • If you are up-to-date, you will see a message that says: "your software is up-to-date."

    If you're still having problems:

    • Force restart the iPhone:
      • Press and hold the sleep/wake button and the Home button for about 10 seconds, or until the Apple logo appears.

If you still have problems (again):

    • Reset all the settings on your iPhone
      • Settings > General > reset > reset all settings and enter your access code if you are required.

I hope I helped solve your problem today. If you need more assistance, feel free to ask

  • My keyboard stopped responding during the installation of Windows XP.

Reinstall windows xp - keyboard unresponsive

I'm reinstalling XP from an official CD after reformatting the HD.  On the Welcome to Setup screen, where I need to press ENTER to set up XP, nothing on the keyboard gets a response (type F3, R).  It's as if the machine has ceased to recognize the USB keyboard, even if it worked in the previous steps.

I need to find a different type of keyboard?  Thank you.

Check the back of your computer and search for PS/2 (round) connectors to your mouse and your keyboard.  Older computers used these PS/2 connectors, as the main means to connect to the keyboard.  USB drivers for USB devices (including the keyboard and mouse) were not in the BIOS and USB could not be used until Windows provided drivers for these connections.  You can borrow a PS/2 keyboard, until you download Windows loaded, or you can buy a small adapter that will plug into the PS/2 computer connector so you can connect your USB keyboard to the other end.  Once Windows loaded, you can return to your keyboard and USB mouse.

  • Key ESC Office keyboard does not work on desktop running Windows 7 Pro 64 x

Key ESC Office keyboard does not work on desktop running Windows 7 Pro 64 x

Now, it's a boring, which several other users have reported under different threads. Because I couldn't find a post with quite similar symptoms, I made my own topic.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 x on an old one (Intel Quad-Core, 4 GB RAM, 524 GB HDD - in case, for reasons unknown to me, someone needs to know it...) , DellXPS system. Not more than a few weeks ago my home button keyboard unresponsive on this system.

I did a lot of troubleshooting, but these measures have been carried out:
    * Tested keyboard on the other system, touch ESC WORKS on the other system
    * Reinstalled keyboard and USB drivers on the XPS system, ESC key does NOT WORK on the XPS system
    * Connected to a never-before-used USB keyboard, ESC key does NOT WORK on the XPS system
    * Opened and cleaned the keyboard, tested, Escape key WORKS, Don't DO NOT WORK on the XPS system
    * Tested in various applications: Desktop (Esc will close the start menu), Photoshop, Vegas, Notepad, games full screen OpenGL,Escape key does NOT WORK on the XPS system
    * Google for possible solutions, none found...

Note: Highlights show where the ESC key does not work. I am troubled by the XPS system.

In case you missed it my list of troubleshooting steps, the ESC key works on another computer of Windows 7 system.

I have to still garble my self through the registry in the hope that someone might have an idea of the steps to follow before I lose a day to see the things that I honestly know squat. Please help if you can; What could be the issue/common application that separates this key in the Windows world and how could I solve this problem?

    Thank you in advance!

    For reference,.
No major changes have been made since the keyboard unresponsive with the exception of:
Updates to FireFox (including modules Ad-Block Plus, NoScript, which have also been updated).
    Windows Update
A 10.x MB World of Warcraft patch/update on a keyboard AFTER week unresponsive

Already installed the patches StarCraft II and World of Warcraft, which none touched my keyboard to my knowledge. I finished almost all of StarCraft II and had no problems...

I know it's a bit old, but I was living the question myself.  Thought I had found the problem and it was fixed but then it happened again.  Came to find out (by closing a program and test the ESC key) it's because Photoshop.

With the help of Photoshop, which could match the case you mention.  Not only that but I did a search ('ESC' does not not Photoshop) and stumbled on some answers/solutions workaround for it.  One is to use SHIFT + ESC ESC does not work.

Hope this helps someone.  I fell it using my original research ("Windows 7" BSE "ESC" keyboard does not) and know that others are likely to see.  If you have not already learn the cause, in the year + since your original message, then voila.

  • My Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 stagnates and stops working intermittently

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Keyboard 5000 running 64-bit Windows 7 Pro SP1. When it works, it's great, and I like the compact design and wireless. But in the last few months, I noticed a few problems which become quite annoying:

    1. When I'm editing, the keyboard seems often slow to react. For example, I often use combinations of keys such as Ctrl + C or Ctrl + X, and it's as if the keyboard does not have the CTRL key immediately, so I find myself by typing 'C' or 'X' on my choice. If I click Cancel and try again, it usually works after that. Or I'll click on an input field and start typing and it takes 1 to 3 seconds for the text to appear, but it usually everything happens, is not as if the keyboard is in decline in strikes, but just a delay. It's almost like the keyboard has a period of awakening to send data. It doesn't seem to be a way to control or override this behavior. And we don't mean to be away from the keyboard for hours or anything like that; Instead, it's time to switch between windows.
    2. At least once a day, just a keyboard unresponsive altogether. When this happens, I can go into my Bluetooth settings, remove the device, press the Connect button on the back of the keyboard to set pairing mode again (or usually it comes automatically drops back in pairing mode when I delete) and then plug it in again. He sails right through matching and starts working again... until the next time it stops. There seems not to be a lot of consistency to when this happens, but this is often when my boss stops by my office and asked me to show him something. Needless to say, not the best time for the elegant Bluetooth keyboard go toots upward.

The keyboard said it was MFG. 12/11, is less than 1 year old. Do I need better drivers? Can anyone recommend a troubleshooting step I've overlooked? The keyboard is damaged? I can send it to Microsoft for repair or diagnosis? Do I use? Thanks for any advice you can offer.

    Hello

-You are aware of any changes made on the computer before this problem?
-You are faced with the question while working on a certain application (like Microsoft Word) or the licensing is pure coincidence?

Method 1: Run the Troubleshooting Utility from the link below and check if the problem persists.
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter

Method 2: I suggest you to see link below and check if it helps.

    Hope this information helps.
  • HP Pavilion dv7t-6100: switch to ATI RADEON video card. Hang, reboot, and white screen.

    Hello.

I was using my laptop as usual, and like many other times I have tried to swich for High Performance video card.  At this time, Windows crashes; So I had to press the power button a few seconds until the computer turns off.

Then, when I turned it on:

-Anything on the screen (on the screen of the computer laptop and external monitor)

    -Cannot access BIOS

-No boot sequence (operating system does not)

-Led is ON (without LEDs + turn signals)

-Keyboard unresponsive (caps lock led for instance does not change when I press on it)

I tried several suggestions "base" that I found on the Internet with no luck:

-Unplug the power cable, remove the battery

-Remove the battery from the BIOS, RAM, HARD drive

-Press the on switch / off 60 seconds

So I guess something is dead here.  Could it be that the RADEON card no longer works?

When the computer is turned on, what card uses by default?

Is it possible (not through BIOS, not through OS) to specify to use the integrated graphics card Intel? Removing the RADEON card (is that even possible)?

    Thanks in advance.
