• DDPE F8 safe mode menu causes freeze on E7450 processor and controller

  Hello. Strange problem here that happens (so far) on the new laptops to model E7450 processor and controller with DDPE installed. Only tried with Windows 7 Pro 64-bit installed.

  • The laptop freezes completely and must be cold turned off when I use the F8 method to get the safe mode. Gets the menu option of safe mode, it hangs. Hit the caps lock button does not switch the LED, no action at all in the laptop. Must cold power turned off at this point.
  • Using to start in SafeMode MSCONFIG method works and the laptop starts up in safe mode normally.
  • Method F8 safe mode works very well after that I have DDPE to disable and remove the Environmnent of authentication pre-seed (PBA)

  Someone else approaching this combination of E7450 processor and controller/DDPE/F8 safe mode or have all of the answers from Dell support?

  We need more information to help solve this problem. You know the specific version of RFP | E you leverage? The E7450s that we had problems with the first revisions of the BIOS and the SED because a new way of management with how data is passed from the disk to the operating system. I would definitely say update BIOS and using the latest version of RFP | E available.

• Browser and full screen mode menu bar

  I like browser and I love full screen with menu bar. This is per pallet block the image on both sides. Everything that can be done? Thank you.

  Well, I can suggest something to try.   I don't have a Mac, so I will try to advise you as if it even works on Mac and PC, with a bit of padding between the lines...

  But before experimenting, save your current workspace a name via the new workspace - Workspace - window menu.  Name it something like Kevin.  Then, you will still be able to get back to it by selecting it by name in the small box at the top right.

  Once you have registered your current workspace, take Photoshop out of mode full screen by pressing F.

  Now choose window - frame of the Application, if not already done (you want to).

  Drag the edges of the Photoshop window so it covers almost the same amount of screen as the space between the panels that you're showing above.  In other words, it will go almost to the top and almost down, but leaves a few inches of space to the left and to the right.

  Now drag the panels of their tabs just outside the edge of the image to the Application, so that they are essentially in the same places that you are showing them above.

  With a few adjustments and finesse, you should be able to come pretty close to duplicating the layout you previously, but the difference will be that in the display tabbed documents will remain as part of the application, which is not under the panels.

  I hope this was clear enough to follow.  Let me know if run you into any part of it.

• F8 key will not open safe mode

  1. the F8 key does not (safe mode) when the computer is restarted.

  2. the Microsoft sound does not play at the start and stop of all other sounds functions work perfectly.

  That someone has suggestions for the system difficulty and that everything remains alive.

  I think you need to determine if the problem of access to the SafeMode because that the F8 key does not access safe mode menu or the computer does not start in safe mode.

  In the past with a Microsoft Wireless Multimedia keyboard, I met the situation where the function keys had to be activated by pressing the CAPS LOCK key. This was to be done whenever the computer is started. This is done using the F8 key safe mode access impractical because you must press the lock key when the system is unable to receive instructions from keyboard and always press the F8 key until the system has progressed beyond the point where the ability to access the security mode is still available.  You can't do it.

  The easiest way to access the safe mode becomes to connect using a wired keyboard ps2 if you cannot access the mode without failure of the normal mode. To access the normal mode by selecting Start, run, type msconfig and press ENTER. Choose the Startup tab and let secure boot. Click apply and then click OK and restart the computer. To return to a normal startup, you uncheck the safe boot option.

• Video Mode problems XP ' Safe Mode'

  After you install a new motherboard, I have a problem with Safe Mode.

  The PC has 2 hard drives, one with XP Home, & the other with XP Pro. One can be selected at boot time.

  I have no problem with XP Home, so I know that the material is not at fault.

  With XP Pro, I can boot into normal mode, without any issue.

  However, if I try to boot XP Pro Mode safe mode, the monitor advises "Out of Range". On another monitor, the 'frequencies' appear as 35.5 H & 86.8V. These are not unusual.

  Does anyone know how I can find/replace the video settings of the SafeMode in the registry or elsewhere? I looked at 'DefaultSettings.XResolution', etc. and can see several occurrences of the present, which seem legal. I've tried to set a "DefaultSettings.VRefresh" which had a value of 1, but this did not help.

  I have also tried to change the resolution of the display properties/settings/advanced / "list all modes", but that did not always help.

  I am pretty well confused.

  As far as I KNOW, the pilot of SafeMode (vgasave) depends on vga.dll and vga.sys.  My understanding is if one of these files is missing or corrupted, the system will BSOD rather than running with screwy resolutions.  Windows file protection should have replaced these files, if something had happened to them, but you can try to expand the vga.sy_ and C:\Windows\servicepackfiles\i386 vga.dl_ or a Windows install CD and replace files in C:\windows\system32\drivers (vga.sys - vga.dll is in windows\system32).  I don't have much hope that this will help.

  You can also try going to the menu Advanced Startup Options (F8 or Mode menu aka safe) and selecting "Enable VGA mode" to see what is happening.  "VGA" mode, the driver installed for the video card should be used instead of vga.sys.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222 if the mode 640 x 480 video card works for your display, more than one finger pointing at vga.sys.

  I use windows xp home eddition and when I start my computer it wont let me press F8 to enter safe mode menu. When I reset my computer that I can get to the screen where it allows you to choose to start in safe mode... but for some reason I can't scroll to the top to choose these options and I would love someone to help me with this problem. It's the same thing when I try to push any key to boot from the cd to reinstall windows. And Yes, I already had all of the malware, spyware off your computer. From my understanding virus like these will change settings!   1. did you connect the keyboard to a different USB port when you try to start in safe mode?

  There might be a possibility that there is not enough power generated in the USB port when you start your computer in safe mode. So, I suggest that you test the keyboard in another USB port.

• Safe mode - black screen

  The safe mode menu did not have while holding the F8 key when XP starts.  Checked online and found out how to boot into safe mode of msconfig.  Now, when I turn on the computer all I get is a black screen.  Can't do anything. Help please!

  I have a M4 Aqua.

  I have the endurance and my Experia (phone tracking) mode together.

  Because stamina mode disables network connections when the screen is off, My Experia mode will not work and the phone cannot be located if lost.

  Under the Stamina mode menu, there is an option to allow certain applications to stay connected. I don't see my Experia in this list. Is there anyway to get my Experia works when Stamina mode?

  @billford Are you running 5.1.1? If you add applications, you should see all the other tab. My xperia is available.

• POLL: Blend mode options in the Brush tool?

  It is a survey question for users of all versions of fireworks. In Fireworks 8, I noticed a difference in the properties of the Brush tool depending on whether the selection is an object or mask - in particular, the blend mode options do NOT appear in the property inspector when a bitmap mask is selected, * except * the object was chosen in the first place, as well as the Brush tool.

  Please try the steps below and let me know the results:

  1. From the pointer tool, select a mask bitmap image (by selecting its thumbnail in the layers panel) and choose the Brush tool.
     The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
  2. Now, with the still active brush tool, select the thumbnail of the object being masked.
     The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
  3. Now, select the pointer tool and then re - select the Brush tool.
     The blending mode menu in the property inspector?
  4. Finally, select the mask, with the still active brush tool again.
     The blending mode menu in the property inspector?

  In Fireworks 8 (on Mac OS 10.6.8), the answers to the above questions are, "no, no, Yes, Yes." So it is possible to use the blending mode of the options with the Brush tool when you are working with a mask bitmap image, but it's a complicated process to get these options appear. I'm interested to know if future versions of fireworks exhibit the same behavior. Anyone with a different version, please chime.

  

  UPDATE: I still would like to hear from users of Fireworks CS3, CS4and CS5, CS5.5 on this issue! Please take a moment to help. All it takes is a Fireworks document with a bitmap object and a mask (not vector). Don't forget to indicate which version of Fireworks you are using.

  Maybe the blendmodes are disabled simply because they are not that useful on a mask bitmap?

• Photoshop CS4 - CMYK as default mode?

  I am running Photoshop CS4, a a few machines using Windows Vista and Windows 7, and I wonder if there is a way to change the default mode in CYMK at a new document, import of images etc.

  For now, everything is oriented RGB. I looked in the Photoshop preferences and browsed the forums etc. nothing works.

  So my question is this: is it possible to change the color mode to CMYK when you create default and opening documents?

  I guess it is not an easy option (unless I missed it), so is it perhaps to do a plugin or script?

  Photoshop remembers the setting in the file > new... dialog. When you create a new image in Photoshop always displays this window, for the color Mode choose CMYK and next time, when you create a new image of your last choice will be automatically selected.

  However, there is one exception, when you copied the image data on your clippboard. Then the color Mode option will automatically be set to the color mode of the image that is in the Clipboard. You can always clear the image data in your Clipboard by copying the other thing like text.

  When you open documents, they will be open in color mode, that they were saved. If you want to convert them to CMYK you can choose which of the Image > Mode menu.

  On a Mac, there at - it a shortcut to change the blending mode of the layer in the layer Style dialog box? On a pc, you can click on the blending mode menu and then once highlight you can scroll with the arrows. I know outside the layer Style dialog box you can shift and + or - with the tool moving, but the advantage to do inside your layer style dialog box is it does not affect your story. • Impossible to manually configure the wireless settings.

  I have an Apple Time Capsule of 7.7.7 version and no matter what I do I can't seem to accept my manual settings wireless.  My building a House requires several APs to provide adequate coverage, and time Capsule keeps selecting wireless channels that are in conflict with other access points in the House.  Does anyone know of a work around that will allow me to force the desired channels? I use a Windows PC 10 with Airport Utility for Windows version 5.6.1 configure time Capsule. Here are the steps I followed:

  -Select the "Time Capsule" on the left side

  -Click on the "Manual Configuration" button at the bottom

  -Select the tab "wireless".

  -Radio mode - menu drop down select "802. 11A / n - 802. "11b / g ' (very intentional)

  -Radio channel selection - I select in the drop-down "manual."

  -Select 'change... '. "and choose"36"for the 5 GHz channel and '1' for channel 2.4 GHz, then 'Ok '.

  -Select "Update."

  After restarting the device, I check the settings and I find...

  -Radio mode is back 'automatic '.

  -Selection of the radio channel is 'Automatic' and channels do not necessarily match what I selected initially.

  The main problem is that the version of the AirPort for Windows utility is not designed to work with 802.11ac airport base stations. Unfortunately, Apple has not updated this utility since Windows 7.

  The other problem is that Apple has "dumb - which crashed" AirPort Utility for Macs and the iOS devices with version 6.x. One of the things that he removed has the possibility to define patterns of radio and channels that "stick" to the 802.11ac base stations.

  After you configure my toolbar with the new menu on the toolbar, it keeps removing most of the icons during the restart. Not even for the menu, but remove them completely for the big bin of unused features to the left of the mode menu customize. I have reset Firefox by the suggestion of support page, but this had no effect. Oddly enough, I didn't this problem after upgrading to version 30 on my laptop, only on my desktop. Any suggestions? I'm on a Mac Pro, running the Mavericks.

  Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.
