2000-2061TU HP: display

How to reduce the brightness of my laptop?

Hi @manojmj ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your laptop HP 2000-2061tu and problems with brightness controls. Here is a link to change the display settings.

You can try this: Power Options open by clicking on the button start the picture of the Start button, click on the Control Panel, clicking system and security, and then clicking Power Options.
In any plan, click on change plan back to default settings options or change the brightness according to you, but you must do it for the battery and AC power.

Please let me know how it goes.

Thank you.

  • Tecra S1 under Windows 2000 Professional external display problem

As I can't answer in the original thread (1831), because it is locked, I put here my answer to the answer of the Quad.

Quad first wanted to know if we have installed the Tecra S1 on a recovery CD.

No, we do not have. We have created an image that consists of an unattended installation. It is installed from a Windows 2000 RIS server.

Quad also said that the Fn + F5 is enabled after the installation of the utility Hotkey for display devices.

We downloaded the hotkey utility, but when we tried to install it we got the error message you "Driver not found" and suspended installation. We have installed as a user with administrator privileges.

We do something wrong, or this utility owes something to be installed as well?

    Kind regards
    Harro Hofman

    The Netherlands.

    Hi again Mr. Hofman,

First of all I must tell you that this is a typical problem. AFAIK Tecra S1 comes with the Professional Windows XP Home edition and optionally with W2000 professional. This two OS has been tested and Toshiba offers all drivers and tools to Toshiba download website.

It will be interesting how you created this image. What was the basis for this image? You are installed to the first completely Tecra and after created image?

Have you had problems before the creation of the image?

  • How to connect mid 2000 Apple Cinema Display to all new MacBook Pro

    Hi all

I have an old monitor Apple Cinema Display (probably around 2005/2006) and would like to connect it to my new MacBook Pro. I bought the cable I thought I needed but it wasn't the right one, so to avoid that happening again, please could someone advise which is the right cable to use.

    Thank you!

I have no idea of what you purchased was not compatible.

You will need an adapter of your Thunderbolt port for the cinema display.  I guess (since you don't specify the entries on the screen) that your cinema display has a DVI input then get something like these:

  • 2000 HP laptop display problem

I used this laptop for a couple of years without any problems.  Today when I turned it on, more than half of the screen was covered with a strange pattern of the intersection of the lines and the tasks.  It is a multiboot system, and the odd model covers the whole of the left side of the desktop on all operating systems, as well as the black splash screen and the configuration of the BIOS screen.  When I first started, under the overlay, I could barely do a message on a weak battery that will need to be replaced.  I don't know if these problems are related or not, but they both started at the same time.  Anyone know what could be the cause of the problem of display or how it can be fixed?  Apart from this, the computer always seems to work fine, but I need to reduce my window down, because I can use only less than half of the screen.  Thanks for all the ideas.

Let me put it this way...
Fact the broken screen your describing resemble one of the images on a google search?
    https://www.Google.com/search?q=broken+laptop+screen&BIW=1163&BiH=548&TBM=isch&TBO=u&source=Univ&SA=X&EI=qWpLVPuoGJL_yQTRxYLQBw&SQI=2&ved=0CCoQsAQ

If so, this is caused from physical damage. It could be that something heavy was on it, but usually something he hit.
A loose cable does not cause it. It's in an office or your home? Something is wrong of course.

If you do it yourself, you're looking at anywhere from USD (approximately) according to part $50 à 75.

  • Satellite 1605cds: RAM has not reported in Windows 2000

    Hello

    I have a 2nd hand Toshiba Satellite 1605cds/4.3 (amd k6-2 450 mhz basic system).
It has 32 MB of ram on board and a dimm slot - so put in a memory of 128 MB.

But I read this Web page:

    http://fandelem.com/toshiba2.html

where it says it can be improved with a 256 MB memory module!

I have it plugged in and it correctly sees 288 MB (32 MB onboard 256 MB on housing) in the bios.
When I boot from the partition of Windows 98 Second edition, it shows the 288 amount of ram.

.. .but when I boot on the partition of Windows 2000 Professional, it displays a blue screen saying that the bios is not an improved ACPI bios. It says that I have to push the F7 key during the installation of Windows 2000 to disable ACPI and install HAL.

But if I remove the 256 MB slot, Windows 2000 starts correctly without any problem.

I tried to reinstall Windows 2000 by pushing the F7 key during installation, but then Windows 2000 shows that the 32 MB of ram.

So, what can I do to run Windows 2000 and 256 MB module?
The bios is the last that can be downloaded on the web page of toshiba.

Thanks to all and sorry for my English.

    Hello

According to your description W2k said to update the layer HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). In Windows 2000, there are several ways to solve the problems associated with the material (HAL, Hardware Abstraction Layer) Abstraction layer that may occur due to bad detection, an obsolete or non compliant Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) or incorrectly installed computer type or manually.

For more information, please see this Microsoft support site:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/237556

But as I know Toshiba supports the 128 MB only on this unit and if you want to use more ram you can do at your own risk!

  • Export options for the screen display?

I want to do a screening to export a lot of photos that will be visible on the phones, tablets, and TVs.

    1. is the best sRGB color for the on-screen display space?

    2. I'm culture images in 16 x 9. All the megapixels in these pictures are wasted for the display? I'll change the resolution to 72, well that what should I do with the megapixels?

    Thank you.

It was not the case for a long time.

A pixel is a pixel. 2000 pixels will be 2000 pixels to display. the question is that of the device. The native resolution of a in 20 Apple Cinema Display is 1680 x 1040 so a 2000 pixel wide image will be too large for the screen at 100%

On the other hand, the iMac 5K has 5120 x 2880 the same 2000 pixel image would take less than half of the screen.

The 'thumb' of 72 240 or 300 resolution concerns only thumbs on a sheet of paper, not a screen.

  • date format not correctly displayed

    Hi all
I am writing a procedure to download an excel file in a table. for this, we use a csv format.
I have a DATE column in my spreadsheet. prior to the main question. I want you to know is that this spreadsheet is generated by another application (so there is no possibility to manually change the column format in excel).

the format in which the date is stored is lun-JJ-AA. so, if the date is January 1, 2000, it is displayed as January 1 00.

When convert us this spreadsheet to CSV data are not complete in the csv file. This is the January 1 00.

now the problem is that u cannot use a function to_date for the above data. It gives an error like invalid date.

can you let me know how can I handle this in the query and the query only?

  • Graphical waveform data points, the performance impact to no.

    Hello

I searched the forum, but I have only partial information yet about this behavior of graphics WF.

I have a TAB control on the façade, and a TAB page contains a WaveformChart. I traced points with speed of 0.5 Hz, and I have 8 (curves) plots on the chart.

I would like to have a lot of history, so I put the length of the graphic history to 44000.

Everything works as expected, but I see some sluggish behavior, when I click on another TAB page and return to the page of the TAB where the table.

In this case, the appearance of the graph takes about 1 to 2 seconds. This isn't a big problem, since the user typically controls the last minutes of ~ 10 (X-autoscale deactivation and change left "border" time). When this small amount of data points are visible on the graph, the new TAB page is fast after the click of the mouse. When several hours of data is presented, it's slow.

I guess the main reason for this behavior, it is that, when I switch back to the graphics TAB page, the OP system has to re - draw a large amount of data points, and it takes a lot of time?

I'm curious what is the 'best practice' in such a scenario? Shell I store data in a shift register and use an XY graph (I actually have data points such as the double and the corresponding time stamp, there are small fluctuations in time, so I need all THE timestamps)? Would it be useful? So I could add the new XY data point in the array in the register shift, and I redraw the graph at each new stage?

    Thanks for the tips!

I don't know if this applies to your situation, but sometimes the LV refreshes no lights front panel which are not visible on a tab page that is not in front. Table has its internal buffer, but I have no idea how them redraws is managed at many points to accrue though not.

A graph redraws the data are written on it because you have to write all the data each time each time. With SHIFT register approach the graph would only see the most recent data when it becomes visible, so it seems that it needs to be adapted.

Another thing: your chart or table has no 44000 pixels along the x axis. LabVIEW will reduce the number of pixels to display the data. That takes some time too. Using the registry approach change, you can manage the data introduced to the 500-1000-2000 pixels will display your chart. This eliminates the need for BT to do and you can order the method: on average, decimate, sliding window and so on.

I'd go with the registry to offset and graph.

  • Display satellite P30 with Windows 2000 issues

I can't find a driver for Satellite P30 I'm running on Windows 2000. Windows 2000 is the only operating system, I am able to turn it on now. If someone was able to get a P30 works with Windows 2000? Help, please.

    Hello

This laptop model has been tested only with the Windows XP operating system and it is not supported with Windows 2000. Sorry, but you won't find any display driver for this device on the Toshiba site. The only way is to try to find a driver on the site of the producer graphic CAD.

I'm not sure but I think that your unit has "ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9700" graphics card.

  • 2000 - 2B11CA: display language change

    • I have a 2000-2B11CA model laptop, he worked with the French as the display language for the last 10 months, now I need to change it to English.

I thought that by doing a restore Windows to the condition of the plant that I would be able to change the language, but it starts in French do the restore to factory default!

What can I do to get it in English. I tried for many hours in Windows (with the 8.1 8 update) to get the system to add English as the display language, without success. The window add a language to the kept on using Control Panel saying "Windows Update", but nothing appeared in "windows Update" to add English (NOT the keyboard this., but the menus in each window etc.) I have had no problem change the keyboard).  A very frustrating time.

Do I have to use the partion of rescue instead, if so, how to activate if restoration of "factory condition ' does not use this?

    Thanks for any help

I achieved what I wanted after a very long period the download of updates and updating Windows 8.1 (himself a few GBs 3.2), after undertaking a clean restore (which incidentally came with it becomes first message in French, but then happily continued in English).

I must have spent more than 8 hours in front of the computer and also let him install from one day to the next what I believe has some 5GBs of windows updates (I'm glad I don't use more switched). All of this is to add another language to the system that should have been simple using Windows Update by the information found on the web and the instructions of the machine. But the update never identified that I wanted to add r display (menus) to a machine that showed it only in French.

MS makes so time consuming to do what should have been simple.

  • 15 "display v.2000

    Hello

I bought 15 "retina on last August.

Only 6 months I bought and I guarantee 1 year.

3 days ago I accidentally closed the laptop, a USB port placed on his keyboard and there have been serious effects on the screen.

I want to ensure I didn't close it with great force, or press hard close.

As soon I noticed that there is something on the keyboard, I have re-opened and there was a pretty serious v.2000.

I want to assure that I don't travel with my laptop

In addition, I even put the protective screen film.

However, with the tiny little accident broke the screen!

and it makes no sense because "laptop" supposed to be travel as well as the user

and when it is designed, it should be able to withstand some degree of impact.

But the model of the retina display is so fragile and with tiny USB breaks the display. SAME with the top protective film.

This notebook should be placed on a desk in a protective environment, threat or what?

I didn't have that kind of weakness with 10' MacBook Pro and my experience with the retina is so disappointing.

I contacted Apple Customer Service and they are too busy to convince me that 1 year warranty would not cover the breaking of the display.

I want to see Apple a dignity to take responsibility on their product and the customer who has been faithful in more than 5 years, instead of simply make them pay more. Is it possible to fix my macbook with my 1 year warranty free of charge.

I'm not officially a Genius Bar, but I'm sure they will charge you to fix 99.9999%.  The estimate will be free, however.

This is "abuse".  It is not supposed to be anything between the keyboard and the screen when the circuit is closed.

There is that you can buy to extend support manufacturers phone and warranty to 3 years, to cover the flaws in logic and keyboards AppleCare.  Whatever Mac, you intend to keep and count on should have.
