2003 R2 MSCS support for ESXi4.1?

I'm going to migrate windows 2003 r2 clusters in ESXi 4.1 infrastructure according to the link below

It is not supported

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/clustering/archive/2010/07/27/10042799.aspx

is this true?

It works and if the storage is the same, then is also simple to migrate:

  • migrate all the resources on a single node.
  • P2V free node C: drive, then turn off the node
  • Map with RDM disk shared in the virtual machine
  • Start the virtual node and difficulty of network configuration
  • To migrate a simple resource test
  • Migrate all resources
  • Repeat for the first node

  • Officially supported for ESXi4 SD cards?

    Hi all:

Someone has managed to find a list of 'officially' supported or certified for integrated ESXi4 SD cards? I've raked by communities, compatibility guides, sites of the seller, etc and can't find no official statement.

    Thank you!

    Dave

There is not a similar list.

Most providers use Kingston for ESXi embedded... but also other products works very well.

  • Service Pack OS supports for the Essbase Server

I'm embarrassed that I don't know the answer to that, however...

A colleague asked if Windows Server 2003 SP2 is supported for Essbase 9.x.

The only reference I can find in the documentation is for Windows Server 2003 SP1.

Please note that I am not asking "is it supported? I'm trying to understand how I'm supposed to 'officially' in the general case, for not asking to Oracle. Am I supposed to assume that if SP1 is listed, SP2 etc will be also supported? If so, this policy is evidence anywhere? Am I just lack the 'fair support matrix '?

    Thank you!

I wrote my last comment as a general comment because I know errors in the documentation. I had a client installation on Oracle Linux 11.1.1.3. Support doc does not list their version of Linux, but is a version that did not even exist. It was necessary to speak to a number of people at Oracle to determine that their operating system has been supported.

  • Support for Microsoft Windows Server 2003

    Hello

Can you please let me know the end of support for Windows Server 2003?

I manage and application that is currently running on Windows Server 2003 and will soon migrate to Windows Server 2012 but the exact date is not decided, as a lot of analysis should be done prior to the actual migration.

Please let me know when Microsoft end this support for their Windows Server 2003 so that I can work on that accordingly.

That would be really helpful. Any announcement already made by Microsoft on this? I found a few things online stating it would be 2015, but nothing seems to have come directly from Microsoft.

Thank you in advance for the information.

    Hi Ben,

Because the question you posted is linked with the background screen with Server 2003 gpedit.msc change, it would be better suited in the Technet Windows network. Please post your question in the following TechNet group policy forum:

  • VMware converter 4 support for partitions on dynamic disks

I currently have a server physical windows 2003 which has its system and data partitions defined as dynamic disks (C and D partitions lie on disk 0-dynamic) not well why it's set up this way, it was built just like that.

The goal is to convert this virtual server and I read many forums stating that dynamic disks are not supported for vmware converter, but some cases have succeeded where the target score was a record time-basic-but-now-dynamics.

Is this the case? and if so, what alternatives can be tried to virtualize the server.

Dynamic disks are supported for Windows.  The resulting virtual machine will only basic disks in a hot clone.

I would just suggest that you make a clone of hot regular and do a slight reduction in the size of the disc resulting (even if it is 1 MB).

Second, ensure that the system starts out of the c:\ partition and it is marked as a partition active and has a file boot.ini in the root.

    Kind regards

  • Consolidation of support for Windows Server 2008

In the statement of support for vSphere for Server 2008 clustering, he mentions that the two nodes of 2008 should not belong to a cluster HA/DRS.  We currently have our cluster designed to accommodate all guests (HA/DRS active) in the data center.  Excluding the HA/DRS features for VMs individual cluster node, will support us?

    TIA

    -Rick

The documentation is that if you have virtual machines in a cluster HA/DRS then you don't are not supported.  You will need to disable these functions on the entire cluster for real assistance.  That said, I have this configuration and have been able to call VMware to support without problem.  This does not mean that you will have the same experience, but my guess is that they would support you if necessary.

You can also see fault-tolerant VMware (FT), but you must understand the differences between MSCS and FT.  If you're upgrading clustering an application such as Exchange, I wouldn't use FT and would use rather MSCS.  Everything depends on what you're trying to accomplish and what fits best. Also remember that FT does not provide protection at the hardware level, so a lack of application level would be replicated on two virtual machines.

  • Support for zoom

Has anyone used MacKeeper and then Zoom support for aid in line with mac?  I have a mac book (not pro).

Avoid MacKeeper. Your Mac runs the maintenance in the background for you.

I don't know how MacKeeper and Support of Zoom have something to do with the other?

  • No support for npapi plugin?

Hi, we use software that is based on JAVA for our clients to access our services. As I read in some news, support for NPAPI plugins will end in the 64-bit version of firefox 41 (so java no longer be supported). This is only version 64-bit windows or Linux and Mac also being targeted? We need this information so that we can tell our customers that we always support the browsers.
    Thanks in advance

Only the start of Firefox Win64 41,0 + version will have only whitelisted Flash Player 64-bit for now.

64 bit versions of Mac OSX and Linux may continue to use other plugins compatible 64-bit in addition to Flash Player.

That the Firefox 42.0 is the current target for Win64 version as was 41.0 previously. The Fx Win64 41.0 b # is based on the beta channel will be affected by the white list.

  • Where can I find detailed, systematic support for the advanced Thunderbird related topics?

In moving from XP to Windows 7, I opted for Thunderbird as a mail client in order to circumvent hyper intrusive Windows Live Mail to Microsoft (I used Outlook Express for years).

I have a very complicated E-mail structure, and it took me weeks (seriously) to learn how to reproduce it in TBird. Now, I try to customize TBird more, but none of the TBird articles/forum Q & A / searches on Google to ask my questions.

There is no support direct tech TBird, and I'm almost ready to leave for good. However - a last effort: where can I find detailed, systematic support for the advanced Thunderbird related topics?

    Thank you.

  • Firefox mobile not supported for lg optimus zip

Hello, I have recently switched to straight talk and was sad to find that firefox mobile is not supported for the lg optimus zip. In the future, I hope that this will change.

Hello moon_serenity, firefox does not work on your device because it has to little memory RAM (150 MB instead of the 384 needed for firefox to run). in the past there has been efforts to make firefox on android race on more than low-end devices, but the 384 seem to be the background limit which was concluded in which is possible to achieve. If I am afraid that there will be no way to make firefox run on the lg optimus zip.
